When three best friends decide to stretch their wings and revamp the local airport in small-town Haven, Georgia, the destination is laughter and love . . . Jade McKenzie left her high-society family's expectations behind when she came back to cozy Haven, and she's never been happier. But what's supposed to be a quick trip to Nashville for a cousin's wedding turns into a disaster when one of the airport's pilots offers to fly her there. One crash landing and a shared room later, and tattooed, bearded Cash Miller is standing in as her gorgeously unsuitable plus-one--and turning her on in ways she can't deny. But a relationship? A real one? That's definitely in the no-fly zone.
Vincent "Cash" Miller doesn't have much in the world, but he does have pride--and a strict policy not to let anyone trash-talk his friends, not even their mothers. Standing up for sexy, headstrong Jade comes naturally--but so does the bone-deep itch for her he's always wanted to scratch. Giving in to attraction is one thing, but commitment is another. So why does it feel like together, love might take them to breathtaking heights?

Terrific conclusion to the series. Jade was happy to leave her snooty family behind and return to her hometown with her two best friends. She's much happier in Haven than she was in Atlanta. In Haven, Jade teaches yoga and does public relations for the airport that she and the others are renovating. If she butts heads with Cash now and then, well, that keeps life interesting. Cash is one of the pilots and cousin to Jade's best friends' husbands. He is quite the flirt and has a reputation with women. Jade isn't too happy when he's the only pilot available to get her to a family wedding, but she'll put up with him if she must.
Engine trouble and a crash landing have Jade seeing a different side of Cash. And when he offers to stand in as her "plus one" for the wedding, she takes him up on it. Cash may not fit in with the rest of the crowd at the wedding, but he has his own set of standards. One thing he doesn't put up with is anyone putting down his friends. When Jade's mother starts in on her, Cash can't stop himself from standing up for her.
I loved the development of the relationship between Jade and Cash. The sparks have been flying between them since the beginning of the series, and in this book they burn out of control. The weekend in Nashville brings those sparks to a head, and the fire between them is nearly out of control. Both of them are shocked by the strength of their passion and agree that what happened in Nashville, stays in Nashville. That doesn't last more than a couple of days after they return to Haven and can't stop thinking about each other. However, neither wants a relationship, nor do they want their friends thinking that something is going on between them, so they agree to keep their time together secret.
There were times I wanted to shake them both. Both have issues that make them hesitant to open their hearts to another person. Jade's recent breakup with a cheating boyfriend has her reluctant to trust another man. Her upbringing has made her wary of strong emotions. Cash was lied to and cheated on by his ex-wife affecting his willingness to trust. Besides Jax and Tanner, the only family Cash has is his alcoholic father, with whom has a difficult relationship. Both of them keep their emotions buttoned-up, reluctant to share those things that show their vulnerabilities. When they feel the other person getting too close, each finds a way to push the other away emotionally though their physical closeness continues to grow. Jade also has trouble believing that anything between them will last, and Cash believes that the gap between them is too wide.
Nothing can stop the feelings that continue to grow between them. I loved Jade's worry over Cash when he got sick, and Cash's appearance at Jade's hot yoga class was a riot. Things move along quite well for them, and Cash is ready to take the next step when trouble appears in the shape of Jade's mother. I ached for Jade, as in her panic, she says things that hurt Cash deeply. Cash's pain was evident as all the dreams he'd been spinning came crashing down. I loved how their friends helped them work through their troubles and see that they belonged together. The ending was sweet and romantic and perfect for both of them.
I liked seeing more of the couples from the previous books, and also from the Monroe brothers series. The relationship between Cash and his cousins is a good one, and their support of each other is terrific. Jade's relationship with her two friends is as close as sisters, and I loved the scenes they had together. There are some funny times as Jade and Cash try to keep their activities secret and their friends stumble on things that make them suspicious.
This story is the 3rd book in the Return to Haven series and Jules Bennett gives us more wonderful funny, witty and charming characters we can’t help but fall in love with. We met Cash and Jade who are the main charters in this book, in the previous books in this series, and you know that they are going to have a high flying relationship.
Jade needs to be in Nashville for her cousins wedding, a wedding she really does not want to attend, but knows that she will never hear the end of it from her mother. When she gets to the airport she finds out the Cash is to be her pilot. Needless to say this is not how she wanted to her day to start and she does not want have the hour long journey trying to make small talk with him. But little did they know that the weekend was going to bring them together in a heart stopping and sexy stay in a hotel room that would be the beginning of their “secret” just friends with benefits relationship. Both Cash and Jade are also keeping their own secrets from one another and can they learn to trust each other with them….You will have to read this story to see if Cash and Jade get their HEA….
Of all the characters in this series, Cash and Jade are my favourites. I liked their individual stories and with all the books she writes Jules Bennett always gives her readers a good story with a lot of depth in her characters. Thank you NetGalley, for the opportunity to review this book.
This is the first book that I have read from this author and I am glad that I took the chance. This is book 3 of the Return to Haven series but can be read as a standalone. Cash and Jade were great characters. They were not friends but they weren’t enemies. They basically just tolerate each other. Jade is traveling to Nashville to be a bridesmaid for her cousin but on the way, disaster happens and now they are stuck together. They have to figure out how to co-exist with each other just until they can get to the wedding. Once at the wedding, Jade will need Cash again. This was a fun story and I am going to read the other two books in the story just because this one was so much fun.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is a fun, sexy, emotionally thrilling romantic journey filled with interesting charters, laugh out loud moments and heartwarming twists.... was a great read from beginning to end. Really enjoyed this visit back to Haven and looking forward to the next.
Hold on to Me, by author Jules Bennett is a wonderful read! This third book in the Return to Haven series gives the love story of pilot/gym owner Vincent “Cash” Miller and Jade Mackenzie, a graduate of Haven but a woman expected to be a part of her high-society family life, who has returned to Haven.
Jade and Cash have known each other for years, and are working together to revamp the airport. They are definitely not friends, but are stuck together for a flight she has to take to a wedding. He is her pilot…whether she likes it or not. After saving her life, she re-evaluates her relationship with him.
This book is so good! I love this series, the characters (main and supporting), the author, the storyline…all of it! I completely felt this book! My husband was up flying when I read the beginning, and could personally picture the airplane malfunction. Later in the story, I felt my heart completely sink when Jade has to make a decision on what comes out of her mouth…heartbroken!!! This enemies-to-lovers book has heat, lies, betrayal, drama, family issues, friends, and pilots! I totally recommend it with 5 flying stars! Absolutely LOVED it!!!
We are back in Haven with the three girlfriends who have made the town their home, and who, with the help of three men who are cousins, are revitalizing the local airport. An airport that had belong to one of the girlfriends. This time the story belongs to Cash Miller and Jade Mackenzie. They are part of the group but always seem at odds with each other. Things change when on the way to flying Jade to her cousin’s wedding, they bound after an accident they miraculously survived. Both of these characters carry a great deal of hurt, and baggage. Their individual childhood and the people that were suppose to love and support them but didn’t. That has molded them and affected them as adults. Fears of a relationship and of not being good enough, are not things either think they can really have. It’s a story about finding that special person. About being willing to take a chance at love, and overcoming one’s fears . A touching story about hope, and love. Kudos to the author for another winner in this series. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Three best friends and three cousins. They've all hooked up except the last two. Jade and Cash though have been like oil and water so far though. Rubbing each other the wrong way. Then when they experience their plane having to crash land Jade sees Cash in a different light. Enlisting Cash to be her plus one for her pretentious cousins wedding helps too. Jade comes from money so most people think she's a stuck chick. That's not Jade not that her mother hasn't tried to hook her up with the "right" people. Cash had a alcoholic father whose in and out of rehab. It's something he doesn't share with a lot of people. These two are a bit of opposites attract when in reality they aren't that opposite as you might think. Both struggle with pride and feeling unworthy of love. Jules Bennett makes you love them both even as you want to give them a shake sometimes. She puts you right in the story and makes you want to be one of those friends .
So I did read the first book and this book in the trilogy. Even though all of the characters popped up in here, it is a true standalone and I didn't feel like I was missing anything.
I thought this was an ok read. I think I was expecting more from the initial airplane emergency landing setting like I wanted a bit more of a survival read. I think that would have made the story interesting for me. The main couple does come from different backgrounds so you see that "opposites attract" trope. Love this cover though.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I have certainly enjoyed Jules Bennett’s Haven GA books. This book is part of the second series, and the third book of this group. Having said all that, it is truly a standalone. That is what is so what is wonderful about her books. Each one can be read alone, and when you get so caught up in even the secondary characters, it is hard not to go back and read the previous ones. Cash and Jade do not get along, and although each is attracted to the other, they “irritate” the bejeezus out of each other. But fate throws them together and the book takes off. I loved every minute of this book and read it in one session. Not sure what Ms. Bennett will do next, but I can’t wait!
"Those are all justifiable fears," he told her. "If it makes any difference, I was terrified to tell you how I felt. Hell, I still am. But I couldn't keep it to myself, and you deserved to know.”-Cash🩵definitely reading books 1&2
Jules Bennett returns to Haven, Georgia in her newest book. She brings us all of the joy and romance that this town inspires. The series is about three friends, Olivia, Melanie and Jade. They move to Haven when Olivia inherits her father’s airplane and his air field. Two of them have found love and happiness. Now it is Jade’s turn. Jade McKenzie loves Haven and she loves being near her friends. Fleeing her former job after a sexual harassment scandal was the best thing she ever did. Now Jade makes her living teaching yoga and helping her friend to rebuild and expand the airfield. The only issue Jade has is with Cash. He gets under her skin in all kinds of ways. She can’t avoid him since he is one of the three pilots at the air field and the cousin to the owner. When they are forced to spend a weekend together, Jade starts to see Cash in a whole new light. Vincent Miller better known as Cash owns a gym in Haven and flies planes for his cousin’s airfield. Cash loves using the skills he learned in the Air Force to fly the planes and he loves helping people who want to get into shape. He knows that his looks can be intimidating and he mostly doesn’t mind. He is a very private person. He finds joy in hassling Jade knowing how much he can annoy her. It helps him to deal with his attraction to her. Cash and Jade both have a lot of trust issues. They don’t share much about their personal lives or feelings and let very few people get close to them. When they start something, they agree to keep it quiet and not share with anyone even their closest friends. Of course, this secret ends up backfiring with lots of hurt feelings. Watching them figure out what is important and how to make things work is vastly entertaining and rewarding. Jules Bennett knows how to tell a story. Her characters have heart. This book is the third in a trilogy, but readers can pick it up without knowing the other books and enjoy it. Any background you need is provided by Ms. Bennett.
4 ½ stars for this return to Haven. Jade and Cash have no idea how to be near each other without butting heads. They see each other and just have to argue, banter or leer. Neither wants to accept the fact that they are wildly attracted to the other. When Jade needs Cash to fly her to a family wedding she has to put aside whatever feelings she has for him temporarily. They agree to disagree and deal with close quarters in the plane, oh well until that emergency landing.
Jade has been trying to live up to some dream of a perfect daughter her mother has for her. Nothing she does is ever good enough for her adopted mother. Oh yea, she was adopted which didn’t help the situation at all. Now she is on her way to this disastrous wedding, which has her wearing an orange gown (clash city with her flame red hair) and down a date since her boyfriend decided he was interested in someone else now. Having to be in such close proximity with the uber sexy Vincent “Cash” Miller has her ready to explode.
Cash has been harboring his crush for Jade McKenzie for a while now. She was a little older than him back in school and then she left town for a while. They get on about as well as oil and water but he loves to verbally spar with her. It gets his blood flowing. Having to fly her to this wedding from hell sounds just up his alley. And finding out she needs a date is icing on the cake. They agree to put on a ruse to fool her family, and shock them a little (he isn’t a country club poster boy by any means). And it works, a little too well.
Cash and Jade seem opposite on the outside but inside they couldn’t be more perfect for each other. They have deeper feelings than they’d ever admit to and keep themselves closed off to keep their hearts safe. Can they find a way to navigate this new normal within the close group of friends?
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy without expectations. I love getting to catch up with the Haven crew. Not sure if another book is coming down the pipeline but I can’t wait to see who’s story is up next.

Hold On to Me is the third book in Jules Bennett's Return to Haven series. It could probably be read as a stand alone but I definitely recommend reading the first two books first (they were great)! We met Jade and Cash in the first two books of the series. Cash is Jax and Tanner's cousin and Jade is best friends with Livie and Melanie. Jax & Livie and Tanner & Melanie are the couples from the first two books.
Jade and Cash do not get along. They butt heads every time they talk - which is a lot more often now that their best friends are together. Jade needs a plane ride to Nashville for a family wedding and Cash is the only available pilot. While this is not an ideal situation for either of them at the start it gets significantly worse when the plane crashes and Cash has to stay in Nashville with Jade. Making the best of a bad situation, Cash acts as Jade's plus one (and fake boyfriend) for the wedding to get her mom off her back.
What follows is a lesson in chemistry and how first impressions aren't always accurate. What starts as a secret fling turns into much more, but will the two of them be able to handle it?
This was a great finale to the Return to Haven series. Jules Bennett wrote this story wonderfully and I definitely recommend it. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review
I was given an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
This book, Hold on to Me is the third book in a series. Luckily for me it wasn't too hard to follow along with even though I had not read the other two. Jade and Cash are two people who seem wholly unsuited for each other. As a matter of fact, they annoy one another. But he does her a favor by attending a wedding with her, and one things leads to another... they hook up. Suddenly their "no strings" relationship is turning into something more.
I'm not always a fan of the "will they/won't they" story line because I think if it isn't done right it's a bit played out, but I really enjoyed this story. The chemistry between the characters was believable, even though they jumped rather swiftly into it--they'd been acquaintances for a while after all. This was a fast, cute read, with a few steamy scenes in it, but nothing I'd be afraid to see my grandma reading.
All in all, I would definitely be interested in reading the first two books in the series, and any other series' Jules Bennett has written. This book was published in August of 2019, so if you're in the mood for a feel good spicy romance, check it out!
Jade McKenzie left her high-society family’s expectations behind when she came back to cozy Haven, and she’s never been happier. But what’s supposed to be a quick trip to Nashville for a cousin’s wedding turns into a disaster when one of the airport’s pilots offers to fly her there. So why does it feel like together, love might take them to breathtaking heights? This was a pretty good story that I really enjoyed. I liked both main characters a lot. I really liked the overall story we well. I look forward to reading more from this author. I highly recommend. **I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
Return to Haven with the story of Jade and Cash…. Book #3 in the Return to Haven series is just as good as the other books. This series is a spinoff of The Monroes series. You don’t really have to read any of the previous books as they are all standalone. However, I think that for the sake of background, it’s helpful to have read The Monroes and the others in the Return to Haven series. Either way, they are enjoyable reads!
OK, three besties decided to move back to Haven, GA, where Jade and Livie grew up. Melanie quickly decided to follow along. Their mission? Get the Haven airport renovated and fulfill the dream of Livie’s father. That brings us to the three cousins who are an integral part of this project. Jax, Tanner, and Cash. The only ones left standing and not paired off are Cash and Jade. They are like oil and water. They can’t be in the same room without irritating one another. Or can they….. A trip to Nashville seems to prove that wrong.
Hold On to Me is entertaining, funny, and just a little heart-wrenching. It’s a story you’ll enjoy reading in order to escape for a while.
4 1/2 stars. I really enjoyed this 3rd book in this series. I am happy to have found this author last year. Even though it’s been a while since Book 2 came out, they are all stand-alone stories so that’s not a problem. Characters from the previous books are in this one because they are all friends, but you don’t have to have read the others, although you should they were great! This story warmed my heart, it’s just a a nice easy read. I loved the evolution of Cash and Jade’s relationship and really of Cash and Jade’s characters. I was totally on board with them morphing their relationship to new levels. They both grew so much throughout the book with help from each other and their friends and are just perfect for each other. Their chemistry was off the charts but of course they ignored it for a long time until something happens that forces them together for a couple days and they realize how much they want each other physically. And this changes everything they thought about each other, relationships and their lives forever.
Thank you to The publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.
The last of the three cousins who revitalize the Haven, Georgia local airport receives his story in Hold On to Me. Jules Bennett gives the reader two characters who are wounded individuals who have worked so diligently not to like each other. Then puts them in a situation where they must spend time together, finding out that they are indeed attracted to each other. As the story progresses there is friendship, growth for each and some “a-ah” moments.
Cash Miller and Jade Mackenzie are part of the group of friends from the first two books. On the surface it would seem to be an opposites attract story but it is much deeper than that. They have struggles and baggage that weighs them down, creating distrust in romance and causes self-doubt. Authentic story with characters that are believable and realistic..
It is a stand-alone story even though the friends from the first two books are around.
An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
HOLD ON TO ME is book three in Jules Bennett's Return to Haven series and centers around a Pilot/Gym Owner and public relations whirlwind joining forces to not only revamp the airport that means so much to their group of friends, but also a hookup or two on the sly! This yummy enemies to lovers story is sure to entice.
If you've been reading this series from the start, you will recognize the setting of Haven, George as well as the airport that three best friends got hooked on seeing succeed. Two of them have already fallen for the loves of their lives, and now it's Jade's turn to settle in for the long haul. With a close-knit group like this, we always get a feel for what's going on in the previous couples lives as the new couple starts to evolve.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a small town romance centering around a group of best friends. You can't go wrong with any of the three books in this series as each couple has been well developed and very satisfying.
Jade McKenzie left her high paying job and her family in Atlanta and moved back to her hometown to build an airport with her two best friends and their significant others. She has no time and intention of having a relationship and definitely not with Vincent “Cash” Miller. The man may have abs of steel and tattoos but he also infuriates her with his remarks and jokes. It seems that they can’t even be in the same room without getting on each other’s nerves.
That all changes when Jade has to attend her cousin’s wedding and is in need of a plus one and Cash offers to help. But is it possible to have a hot and secret fling without having feelings involved?
I enjoyed the story and there was great chemistry between Jade and Cash. But I thought that the constant snarky comments were a little too much. I also would have liked the love scenes to have been a little more explicit and long. It just felt like a letdown after all the build up.
A sweet opposites attract romance.
Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the third in the return to Haven Series centering around friends Livie, Melanie and Jade. They were childhood friends who all moved back to their hometown, Haven Georgia. Livie and Melanie have already found their happily ever after. Jade left a high powered job and high society family, in Atlanta after being sexually harassed. She settled with her old company and is teaching yoga while trying to figure out her life. Cash Miller and Jade constantly push each other’s button. Both of them have a lot of issues that make them keep people at arms length. What starts as a secret fling becomes more, but will their pasts’ get in the way? I really loved Cash, he is a great character. In the first two books of the series, I had real problems with the female protagonists, not the case in this book. Jade is a great combination of tough, but wounded heroine. This is a nice ending to this series. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
Jules Bennett has always been an author I enjoyed reading since I found her by accident. This 3rd story in the Return to Haven series is a wonderful addition. This story was full of sweet, sexy & secret romance as well as heartbreak & longing for a life not thought possible. A plane crash & a dreaded family wedding are what brings Cash & Jade closer & allows them to venture into their secret relationship, but when feelings change & secrets come out, one of them is left to fight for them & their relationship & come face to face with the idea that love might not be all that unattainable for them. I enjoyed watching them grow together, as well as seeing the other friends & especially the sweet little matchmaker Piper who was continually trying to set Cash & Jade up with friends parents. Definitely recommend. I received this book from the publisher through Net Galley for an honest review.
Jade moved back to Haven to heal and she's doing well - teaching yoga, hanging with her friends, and creating a happy life for herself. She knows, however, that she has to go to Nashville for her cousin's wedding, whether she likes it or not. Cash, sigh, a man with tattoos and secrets (not bad ones of his ow making), flies her there but then- the plane crashes. Forced to share a hotel room and a lot of time together, they both find there's more to the other than meets the eye. It's a nice romance with good characters. I had not read the first two books but this was fine as a standalone. Thanks to net galley for the ARC. Look no further for a satisfying and quick HEA read.
A sweet and poignant “enemies” to lovers story. Not sure enemies is the right word for Cash and Jade - more like they annoyed each other because of attraction. Jade has never lived up to her mother’s expectations and has never had a real relationship. Cash has been burned with an alcoholic/addict father and a cheating ex-wife.
The romance is sweet and I enjoyed their path to finding happiness. This can be read as standalone, but it is nice to catch up with previous characters and Melanie has the baby! My only complaint is there is a plot point brought up about his dad that is mysterious, but it’s never explained.
Thanks to the publisher for a review copy via NetGalley.
It's always tough to jump into a series partway. Some authors make it easy and some make it hard (I actually started another book that's part of a series before this -- and, like this story, says it can be read as a standalone -- but, nope, I had to put that book down and start this one because it was so tough to read without past history!) and I definitely appreciate authors that make it easy to get into the world. Jules Bennett certainly let you know there are other love stories that took place in Haven, GA, but it wasn't too difficult to get caught up because she made sure to have Jade & Cash take center stage. It was an easy story, kept me engaged. 2.5-3 stars.
This was a good read! The writing flowed well from start to finish, and I loved Cash and Jade together. They had great chemistry! The banter back and forth between them was the right amount of snarky without being mean. I did get annoyed at Jade quite a few times with her pretending nothing was going on with Cash. I didn't blame Cash for feeling the way he did. I felt like things with Jade's mom were resolved too easily. It was kinda like okay, we're good, after years of treating her like crap. I was happy to see Jade and Cash get their HEA. This was a first for me from this author, but I will be reading her again! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Jade Mackenzie doesn't particularly like Cash Miller. So when he ends up being the pilot taking her to her cousin's wedding, she's really not thrilled. Especially when they end up making a crash landing and getting to the wedding late. But when Cash steps up as Jade's "date,", she's confused. They don't do nice things for each other. But somehow, making him her fake boyfriend makes it easier to imagine all the things they could do with each other if they were in a real relationship. And then they start doing them... even after they get home. Neither is very interested in telling their friends (at least at first) because what is the point? They're just going to break up eventually. But then fate steps in and forces Jade and Cash to face the fact that they are going to be tied together one way or another for the rest of their lives. I don't particularly love the game-changing trope in this book but I do like friends-to-lovers and Ms. Bennett in general. I think the regular Return to Haven readers won't be disappointed and new poeple won't have had to read the other books in the series to like this one.
Cash is in no way bashful, "she stepped from the room and glared at him. “Your underwear is hugging parts I shouldn’t be looking at.” Cash couldn’t help himself; he stepped around the couch to give her a better look." Cash doesn't mind giving his girl fashion advice, “next time just wear a coat. And heels.” Cash doesn't like when his plans are a tad bit altered, "Cash raised his brows. “more important than dinner and ***?” I loved this book, I loved Cash.
Jade has to go to Nashville to attend a wedding where she has to be a bridesmaid. She hates it, she doesn't want to be near to her high society family, what worse she just broke up with her boyfriend. Cash is a pilot and he is going to fly her to Nashville, but something goes wrong and they crash. When they get to Nashville, Jade is lying to her family that Cash is her boyfriend. What happen when the lines between lie and truth become blurry? Loved this story, awesome characters.
