I am a retired crime lab/crime scene technician, having worked for a local police department for 15 years. Since then, I have become disabled. Forgot to get the extended warranty on the body. In my spare time, I make jewelry, am a photographer, and a full time mom and grandma.
My daughter by birth is Catie, and she is the dearest part of my life. Through her, I have 2 daughters by heart, Heather and Kristina. Through Heather and her awesome man, Stan, I have 4 amazing grandchildren, Purgi, Penne, Myles, and Persephene.
Besides my human family, I have a canine son, who is my service dog, Darcy. I also have 4 feline daughters (Salem, Lizzy, Dagonet, and Freya ). I now have 5 grandpuppies, 2 grandkitties.
Two days after I received my first ever royalty check, I adopted Darcy and Lizzy. Fitting names, I thought. And they resemble the characters. Lizzy is mischievous, yet loving, climbing up high as if she were in a tree. Darcy is extremely protective and loving. He has his shy side, which is clear when around some people, until he comes to know he can trust them.

Rating: MA: violence, death, although a much smaller body count than this author is known to have in her stories. Adult themes were discussed, no graphic sex but violence toward women, and the results were mentioned. Angst Level: medium, again, much lower than the usual Schertz story. 20-chapters. SPOILER ALERT: This review may contain *** SPOILERS ***

Mr. and Mrs. Bennet were horrid. Georgiana Darcy was a spoiled brat that had to face her actions head-on. Boy, she certainly received a reality check on her life choices. When she discovered the mysterious stone in the garden at Netherfield, her life and that of her brother changed forever. What a shocking discovery that she was not the smart young woman that she thought. And that her companion, Mrs. Younge, was complicit in a plan that would have ruined her. She learned the hard way that a smooth-talking handsome face did not a gentleman make. The SBRB [scum-bag-rat-bastard] was lower than dirt and she finally saw that her brother was not so bad after all. He had her best interest in mind and wanted to protect her when he denied her the trip to Ramsgate. She nearly learned that lesson too late.

I always enjoy a Schertz novel for the different approaches she takes to our P&P story. No one can say she isn’t creative. There were a plethora of errors that pulled the reader from the story. However, it was interesting enough that I simply overlooked them. The happy ending was worth it.

I like about 2/3 of the author’s books. I really enjoy the oddness of her storylines. This is not one. I enjoyed a lot but it does have its own odd plot. I wouldn’t recommend this book but it certainly is another odd plot. Being that it’s on Kindle Unlimited you can’t go wrong checking it out.

My favorite book of the author’s is her earthquake hits Derbyshire book.

Body switching

Darcy and a spoiled Georgiana accidently switch bodies at Netherfield shortly after arrival. Georgiana had come to Netherfield after Darcy told her a change in his plans meant he would not have time to travel to Ramsgate to collect her and therefore she could not go. This means she had not attempted her elopement with Wickham and thus Darcy was in a better mood upon arrival. However the two argued regularly, leading to a body switch to help solve their issues. During the switch the two do not interact a whole lot but end up learning a lot about each other and each other's worlds throughout various events. I like how Darcy and Elizabeth's storyline developed and wished there was more with Georgiana in Darcy's body. Overall a good read.

Interesting Story, Needs Editing

I have read a number of this author’s books, but I cannot recall one so sorely in need of editing. There are so any typos and missing words that it’s hard to read the story around them. The Freaky Friday element was a bit jarring, but it served as a fun plot device.

Another wonderful story

Ms Schertz has a wonderfully creative writing style. I enjoyed the twist and turns. Their was only one concern in the story that I do not think Darcy would have ever done.
The remainder of this variation is wonderfully done.

Seriously in need of an editor. Repetition, wrong word choices, telling not showing. Storyline is interesting, but I'm glad I didn't purchase it.

The Derbyshire Mystery Stone

The stone found only in Derbyshire, Blue John, appeared on the garden's pathway at Netherfield. Georgiana, arguing with her brother about being with the Bingleys thus thwarting her plans to meet George Wickham at Ramsgate, touches the stone at the same time as Fitzwilliam. The consequences are immediate: they now inhabit the body of the other. Darcy inhabiting Georgiana's body is almost comical since the once shy, non-communicative girl delivers suggestions, thoughts, and blistering set downs sounding more reminiscent of her brother. She (he) becomes even more enthralled with Elizabeth while helping to care for Jane. While in Darcy's body, Georgiana learns of Mrs. Younge and Wickham's deceit and plans. Before being able to speak with Darcy, Georgiana is taken by Wickham and Mrs. Younge. Many from Meryton are after them: Darcy, Bingley, Elizabeth and a maid, Colonel Forester and his men, an angry father, and a money lender. When they catch up with Wickham's broken down carriage, a plan is hatched to subdue the offenders and rescue Georgiana. In the confusion, the stone that Elizabeth had found is retrieved and the Darcys are switched back, Elizabeth is stabbed, Wickham shot, and Mrs. Younge hauled off by the magistrate. When Elizabeth awakens from her ordeal, Darcy realizes that he loves her and proposes. She accepts, and they marry before returning to Netherfield. This thwarted Mr. Bennet's plans for Lizzy to marry Mr. Collins, and when he demands that Jane do his bidding, her refusal looses him his two eldest daughters. When the dimwitted three show up, more family is lost to the two dear couples, and the riff is never mended. No problem for ODCs as they go on to live HEA thirty miles apart in Derbyshire. And Elizabeth's wedding ring: the cut and polished Blue John stone that brought them together.
