Bangalore of yesteryears was a center of education with some of the oldest schools in India, many eminent personalities have had their schooling in these institutions. Bishop Cotton Boy’s School on Residency Road is one among them.

Aditya Sondhi’s ‘Unfinished Symphony: A Tribute to Bishop Cotton Boys School, Bangalore’ is a compilation of over a hundred eminent old Cottonians whom he refers to as OCs and have scaled to great heights nationally and globally.

The chapter are classified according to the field of contribution-Authority, Enterprise, Erudition, Expression, Valour, Vigour & Mentioned in Dispatches and highlight the alumni achievements in their respective field. The book is a result of meticulous research, indeed a reader’s delight and a Bangalorean's pride. It speaks volumes about the schooling and value systems in Bangalore, now with all the commercialization and technology seeped in so deep such training and upbringing are going to remain as things of the past. Blessed were those days!

On! Straight on!
On, Cottonians, On!

Muster on the side of right,
March like warriors to the fight,
Mark the foe, and strike with might,
Nec Dextrorsum, nec Sinistrorsum.

On! Straight on!
On, Cottonians, On!

Keen alike in work and play,
Keen right through the hottest day,
Keen until your hair turns grey,
Nec Dextrorsum, nec Sinistrorsum.

On! Straight on!
On, Cottonians, On!

Driving through the foaming main,
Buffeted by storm and rain,
Answering to the helm again,
Nec Dextrorsum, nec Sinistrorsum.

On! Straight on!
On, Cottonians, On!

When you leave the good old school
Be no coward, knave, nor fool;
Yours be still the grand old rule,
Nec Dextrorsum, nec Sinistrorsum.

On! Straight on!
On, Cottonians, On!

See this motto on your scroll
Point you to a heavenly goal,
Seek it body, mind and soul,
Nec Dextrorsum, nec Sinistrorsum.
