The Starseed Trilogy #0.1-3

The Starseed Universe, Books 1-5

Rate this book
There is one prophecy, born of blood, fire, and stardust. And three sisters destined to fulfill it. But first, each must learn that the others exist. And that they're witches.

Upon first meeting, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Only the threat of otherworldly beings arriving on Earth unites them.

That and their strange, uncommonly loud, persistent, estrogen-filled family.

When one sister suffers an attack on those she loves, the others come together to help.

And find that the danger is closer, and stronger, than they ever could have imagined.

Perfect for fans of the Charmed sisterhood and A Discovery of Witches.

Ashley McLeo’s Starseed Universe covers three full length novels chronicling the lives of three young women: Lily, Evelyn and Sara. Near the start of the first book, Prophecy of Three, the long lost siblings discover they are witches and have a task to fulfill to save the world from a magical threat not seen in millennia.

The main focus of the stories is the bond between family and sisters, in how they grow and form during all the trials that they face, both magical and non-magical. The sisters don’t have a lot of time to learn and grow in their powers either, so there’s constant thoughts about not being able to do it, which brought a lot of humanity to them. Each of the main characters have a fully developed personality and arc, and I loved seeing the growth from all of them. While some supporting cast members are memorable, there’s a few that are introduced in the later books that faded into the background for me.

The plot is for the most part solid and intriguing, though in a way, Prophecy felt like it was marred in a lot more setup than it needed to be and made it feel slower than it was. Souls of Three and Rising of Three make up for it big time, especially Rising. The series is full with quite a few twists and turns, along with some heartbreaking moments in each book. There’s a lot of foreshadowing and quite a bit of payoff as plot points are revisited in the series.

The prose can be a bit choppy at points, especially in Prophecy of Three, McLeo’s first novel, but in the other books in this set, it’s really only present in the battle scenes, and her growth is evident as I continued reading. The setting became more vivid and it was easier to read, with a straight to the point style that had me in the grasp of the relationships between each of the characters and world as they strive to save it.

While this is a New Adult series, with the main characters being 21 years old, the content is appropriate for YA/Teen readers as there’s no explicit sex and while things do get a bit messy in terms of violence, I’ve read worse in some YA books.

There’s also the two prequel novellas in the back, featuring supporting characters. Rogue Fae covers Lily’s family several years before her birth on a murder mystery in Nashville and explains how they met, which I found was intriguing mostly for the mystery aspect and the big twist. Siren Falling covers the siren Selma when she was in New York City in the 1990’s and found herself out of control with her magic. I wasn’t really into this one due to the situations Selma got herself into, mostly out of personal taste.

I recommend a look if you’re into magic, witches, family bonds and some action.

What do the burning of the Great Library of Alexandria, historical witch hunts in Europe, an the legendary rift between Adam and Eve All have in common? Well, that’s all explained in The Starseed Universe, a wonderful collection of Ashley McLeo’s The Starseed Trilogy and two other novels set in the same story universe. And what a marvelous and perfectly crafted universe it is. Mostly though, I love the complexity of the tale and how it’s all woven together. I love the strongly built “bad guys”, the fata, magical aliens intent on ruling Earth, and their Earth henchmen, the Acolytes of Hecate. I love the significant differences in the “taste” of the three witch leads, Evelyn, Lily and Sara, and how they change and develop. I love the superb writing and excellent plots of each book and of the overall story arc. So much to love ‘cause it’s all soooo good. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the bookset definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that each of the books in this set is a five-star read. It is easy to highly recommend the wonderful modern age fantasies found in this bookset. So so good.

FABULOUS! 5 FULL SIZED BOOKS!❤

I totally did this backward and read this last of the 4 books instead  of first as it was intended. It realy cleared up how the witches originally crossed paths. It also introduces the large plantation style house and coven that plays a part in the future. Unlike me please read this first, believe me!, this is good and each book outdoes the next. This author is a fantastic story teller.

PROPHECY OF THREE.
What a great book! It held my interest every second of this 6 hour read. Discriptive to the point that l was either living through her eyes or watching closely. So well written that it will stay in my library because l know l will read it again, infact it could be made into a movie. The important flashes to the past witches of 3 had me in suspense, can they do it in time? will it work? the door breaks down......Ahhh. see what l mean! Then there are the orphans and their trip to Ireland. The different personalities and tests. The visions of the past are fantastic and l can't say anymore! No spoilers from me but l could say so much more. SO SO RECOMMENDED!

SOULS OF THREE.
Inovative and captivating series. I would buy in paperback and put on my book shelf with my Harry Potter collection.
This writer has a talent of drawing you in, the individual characters so alive they could be real and you feel emotions of trepidation, envy, disbelief, annoyance, love, friendship, attraction, horror and achievment amongst others. But not just from the good guys, the enemies and traitors as well! Enjoyable 6 hour novel.
I loved the first book so much and was a bit worried, concerned it was a fluke and the second book wouldn't be as good. IT IS GREAT!

SIREN FALLING.
It was great to look into Selma's past after reading Prophecy of three and Souls of three. And great to see that Richard was the same beautiful sexy bartender and had stuck around. Wow though... she certainly causes havock and mayhem in the big city. This book is great to read on it's own but it is also a great addition to the other two I mentioned earlier and can be read either before or after those.

RISING OF THREE.
What a beautiful book this is, a just and brave story intermingled with love , sisterhood and charitable righteousness. A beautiful story of first love, old love and strength of love that has withstood throughout the ages. Of families sacrifice beyond imagination to protect the earths children and bring races and species to live in harmony. Definitely a keeper for the bookshelf, this is a well earnt recommendation.💥💥💥💥💥

Exciting and enthralling story of three powerful witches with a mission to save the world. Read them individually and enjoyed the drama, the emotions, the fantasy and the magic.
Prophesy of three
A mystery prophecy that was ruling her lives and a destiny still to fulfill had reunited them. Lily, Evelyn and Sera, triplets and witches, with their clan of gifted witches and powerful and deadly enemies intrigued me. A story full of mythology, magic, secrets, mysteries, suspense, violence and interesting descriptions and narrations that caught my attention to the details and drama. Liked Lily’s insight with her flaws and strong emotions. Good beginning to the trilogy.
Souls of Three
In this second book Evelyn was feeling confidence with her powers without realizing what was happening to her. Liked how the sisters were strengthening their bond and Lily having more confidence in herself. Good and exciting the magic and the mystery in the plot development and how the pieces are falling in place. Action, suspense, more secrets revealed, strong emotions, betrayal, an intense battle and romance. Different from what I’m used. Intriguing, interesting and kept my attention all the time. Liked the writing style of the author imaginative, detailed and well explained.
Rising of three
An intense and exciting conclusion of the trilogy. The girls communed learned what was their mission and the fata had been strengthening his magic. Would they sacrifice all? Interesting and detailed narrations and descriptions that kept me on edge. Magic, strong characters, action, suspense, lot of violence with a deadly battle, romance and passion. Liked how the protagonists learned to master their powers and embraced their destiny. Enjoyed how the author crafted the three sisters’ characters and made they outstand by themselves.

Prophecy of Three - 4 stars
This read was not what I expected from it. Well written story with prophecy in The back.
Lily is a normal girl That comes Home after college. Her family (adoptive one) Tell Her she's going to Ireland!
What will happen There? What secrets will be revealed? Who are she and The other 2?
Read Full of surprises and turns.

Souls of Three - 5 stars
This book is less on the mythical side of The World as book 1, this is truly imaginative Word and Endura The reader Would be sucked into it!
Here events follow Evelyn more closely and Her story is for sure something else from Lily's. She has Her lab reasons for doing what she's doing and I get That in 100.
I devoured That story in about 2 hours of reading and I was captivated by The imaginative World Ms. McLeo created!

Rising of Three - 5 stars
What a conclusion!
There was everything from years, via Love to The overwhelming Love feeling!
The triplets are preparing for the last battle - come secrets are revealed and nothing you can do can help you from diving completely into That story.
Great YA in the purest form.
I Would only are more suspense (but That's due to my Personal preferences)

A Magical Read!! 🌠🌟🙏🍀🌛

I originally read this series as single books but getting them in a nice box set is even better 😍

The story behind these sisters, that comes to light, is astounding!! 😱🌠 This is a story about family firstly. Then friendships, trust, betrayal and so much more!! 🍀🙏🍀

Each book, starting with the prequel, gives an insight into past & future events & people. 💃 It's enlightening & fascinating storytelling!! 😍

The writing style is full & so expressive. The world building is extensive & mind blowing 💥 The characters are beautifully portrayed, even those we loathe!!

I highly recommend this overall 4.5 star explosive box set!! 🌟

Looking for a different kind of magical story? How about witches, vampires....and aliens?? Oh my!! Let Ashley McLeo show you a whole new world with The Starseed Universe series! This is not a quick read kind of story. It could be a binge read but a breath between each book might be advisable so you can really absorb the layers written into them. I truly think each book is a beautifully written gem so I guess that makes the series a gorgeous bejewelled crown! Well done, indeed, Ms. McLeo!!

One of my favorite authors knocked it out of the park with this series. Development of characters and attention to detail allows you to slip right into well written stories that draw you in and don’t want to let you go. I’m looking forward to all future novels!

The story line was a little dark for me. I did make it to the seconded to the last chapter of book #1 and then there was torture and rape. I am so glad that there was not detail for those situations. Yet, it was enough for me to delete the series from my reader.

Absolutely Fantastic

I was gripped from page one. The characters were a breath of fresh air, I am glad good did prevail and the evil was destroyed. I'm sad that the series finished but I'm glad that I was introduced to many believable characters. Well done Ashley
