Now, however, there is a definite connection between the bachelor and the widow. When his reputation comes to light, she chooses to continue their budding relationship. The Storm brothers was definitely a mess....I enjoyed the banter back and forth between the four (4) brothers....Baby brother Chase was the ladies man of the bunch and his family wanted to see growth in him. So his brothers coaxed him into a $3,000,000.00 bet and pick the beautiful plus size Madison. From the time Chase's brother Damon re-introduced Madison and Chase he was actually smitten with her. To his surprise he enjoyed their conversation and getting to know her. The couple eventually fell in love and he asked for her hand in marriage. Then....the secret of the wager comes out and Chase goes through a lot to get her back. He did whine a bit too much for me being a thirty-something year old man....He did confess this was his first time falling in love. Madison on the other hand was dealing with prior heart break and now, she's dealing with the loss of Chase.....Trying to get to their HEA will prove tough because there's someone waiting to get her opportunity with Chase....This was a good story...it's interesting to see how people use their money and power to try and get what they want.
As an avid romance reader and a black woman, I am constantly on the lookout for good books featuring main characters that don’t feed into unfortunate stereotypes about black people. Unfortunately, this book did not meet that criterion. I really wanted to like this book, and overall it was okay. But it was nowhere near being as good as the reviews I read would have me believe.
Chase’s character is an unrealistic caricature of a successful thirty something playboy. His behavior is that of a college kid and his attitude and treatment of women is horrible. After he starts dating Madison, Chase repeatedly reminds the reader that he’s never before had a real conversation with a woman or cared what one had to say. His behavior after the bet comes to light isn’t much better. What’s worse is that his family completely enable Chase’s behavior at the beginning, all the while saying Chase needs to grow up. Then the males of the family come up with the bright idea of a bet to have Chase date a woman of their choosing for 6 months. They have no regard for the woman involved, which is especially bad given that they know Madison is just now recovering from the death of her husband and kids. After making the bet, the males bemoan how Chase is playing with her and going to break her heart, but do absolutely nothing to stop it. To the contrary, at one point, they go so far as to up the ante. This made it very frustrating to read scenes involving Chase’s brother and father.
Also, the author’s treatment toward the end of the book of an admittedly unlikable side character’s history is downright disturbing. I don’t want to spoil anything for those who want to read the book, but in a part that I’m sure the author thought the reader would be cheering on Madison, I instead found myself wondering if Madison had any basic human decency. This was the first book I’ve read by Anna Black and although I didn’t hate the book, it will probably be the last one I read by her.
I had a feeling by the time this was over I was either going to be mad at or feeling sorry for, but totally in love with Chase. Turns out I was correct on both ends. Cocky and sexy as all get out, but it only took one goodhearted, genuine, beautiful woman to bring him to his knees. Oh how the mighty fall, but it was so worth it for both of them in the end. I absolutely loved this and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice sexy read with a HEA.
I love to read books by this author and she never disappoints with the storyline. Right from the beginning it drew me right in until I finished. I was kind of sorry when the story ended. This was a lesson in the book to show that you can't judge someone in how they look, their size and past relationships. Their is someone for everyone. You just have to see for yourself and not listen to other people's opinions. The characters were well developed and I felt the emotions of the characters. Especially Hope I wanted to jump in and smacked the crap out of her for being so mean uppity and rude. I recommend this book to read. Cassandra H.
Overall, I'll give this book 3.5. The story flowed until the end. The ending was rushed. I enjoyed reading about Madison and Chase. I just wished the ending flowed better. I would recommend reading this one.
I started this book awhile back and I don't know why I stopped, but I'm glad I picked it back up. This was a great read. My boy Lance. He was a changed man. I wish there was an update on them. Great read.
The Perfect Love Storm by Anna Black was just that PERFECT. The characters are believable, and the relationship is something that is happening daily. This was a great read. The storyline line is great and catches you from the beginning of the story to the ending of the story. Just like Chase and Madison, every reader will take from this storyline that love will find its way back to your hearts. The Power of love is awesome. I highly recommend this book. Thank you, Anna Black, I look forward to reading more from you.
The storyline was good but could have been better. The writing wasn't too good. It felt elementary at times and repetitive. It really had potential to be an awesome urban romance novel. The book also seemed rushed. I will try to read from the author again, hoping that this was just one of the first few but other novels read better.
I know this book was meant to uplift plus size women. I am just saying....IF I was plus size, it would kind of be an insult. Chase made it clear several times in the storyline what he thought of and/or what he used to think of plus size women. Also I know Madison was supposed to be this confident woman but there were a few times within the storyline that made me feel she settled so she could settle. One moment in particular.....her hearing how Chase treated Hope and as a woman, sweeping it under the rug. Hope was made to look like a villain, but I didn't feel that way. She experienced someting traumatic as a young teenager. Then to have a man use her insecurities and play with her heart....it's no wonder she fell apart the way she did!

Lance, Damon, Travis and baby bro Chase Storm are the owners of an architectural, real estate developers and home builders companies in Tyler, TX. The Storm brothers bet Chase $1 million each that he couldn't date one woman exclusively for six months and he accepted. But they get to choose the woman and that's where Madison comes in to play and she is a BBW. Oh yeah! Well she fit right in with their wives, Gina, Tasha and Deena because these women were also BBW. And the guys seriously believe she can tame their brother an get him to commit. Oh yeah?
Chase falls, and falls hard, in love with Madison and after a few bumps in the relationship, he commits and then proposes to her. And no one believes he is serious but she does. I enjoyed this story and gave it a 4**** rating.
Wonderful job! I am still new to this author but will be definitely catching up on all of her works. This book had me captivated the entire time. Firstly I liked that the setting was in Tyler, Texas being that I go through there often. Secondly I really enjoyed the story line. Chase was a spoiled country boy who had never given any thought to love. Then comes Madison who was a BBW and a widow. The pairing of them wasn't ideal with made them love even stronger in my opinion.
Chase is your typical playboy with too much disposable cash and too many women trying to keep his bed warm and his pockets emptied. Chase’s brothers have had enough and devise a little competition to help Chase slow down. $3 million dollars if he can spend 6 months committed and faithful to the same woman. The catch, they get to pick the woman. Enter Madison, a shy plus sized girl who would never be Chase’s type normally. I enjoyed the pairing of Chase and Madison. One ding for not having any real description for Chase.
Chase Storm is the the baby boy of the Storm clan. He is blessed with good looks and financially stable but has a problem with being a one woman man. Chase is offered a lucrative proposition that includes Madison Atkins-Morgan that he can't refuse, will he be able to successfully complete the assignment.
Good read! The story flowed from beginning to end. A person can change their ways if they are ready to change
Divaaaa! This book was Amazing! My Sister fellow writer Genesis Woods turned me on to you! And boy was she right this book was a page turner from page to the end! Your characters were all so relatable but NOT predictable! Nothing was over the top, even the bet though for 6 million it is very believable a upper middle class family would bet like that!
Chase was the man and he had no qualms about being the man. When his brothers bet him 3 million dollars he could not stay with one woman for six months, he took the challenge. He won and he loss.. His BBW was not his norm, but she rocked his world..... A good read..
Anna girl! This story had me wrapped all the way in it. I've always enjoyed your books but this is easily one of my favorites. I honestly didn't want this book to end, I read it in 4 hours. Awesome Job I hope to see more from the Storm family, they seem fun!
This was a lovely read. This book actually prove anyone can change. If Chase changed anyone can. Love found it's way back. I seen determination work, I seen forgiveness work and I seen the sure power of love work. Awesome read. Highly recommend. You did that Anna Black!
This book was so damn good I loved it no drugs no thugs just love. I was so in love with these two characters I couldn't put it down. Thank you it was so refreshing to get away from thugs and drugs . I hope it's more to come.
I loved Chase & Madison together! Tony had the nerve to want to protect her when he knows he was definitely in the wrong. I wanted to strangle Hope. It's unfortunate that people think that because you're plus size you can't snag the stallion. Excellent read!
Who would of thought Chase was capable of love. I loved how Madison stayed true to herself and never changed who she was for him, but instead opened his heart soul and mind to love....
Great story! I enjoyed the way these characters discovered love. Sometimes the second time around is the best. I just wished there were more novels about the rest of Storms.
I loved this book!!! Loved Chase Storm. I need a man like him! I hate what he and his brothers did to Maidson, but love prevailed!!! This was such a great book. I wish there was a sequel!!! Anna Black thanks for such a great book!!!
I loved it! It was all around good I just hate the dang bet that made. Other than that it was really good! I can't stand that hope she was a straight mess! But she got humbled quick thanks to Madison
