Bringing Ragnarok: Book Two

Rate this book
Across 2147 Inner Sol the Habitats have broken free of Terrestrial Occupation Forces control following the bombing of Station Rome.

Yari and Loucas along with their hosts, living spaceships Olga and Franz, have narrowly escaped a Navy ambush near Earth and reached the relative safety of the Mars-Jupiter Asteroid Belt.

Their goal: Find a way to the hidden location of the Insurgence base located at a place called Coyote Point, before the Navy can catch up with them and exact its revenge.

In 2041 Post-America The Deseret Nation, annoyed at losing a key base to a nuclear strike, now aims to drive the Missoula Regiment out of Idaho once and for all - and at any cost.

Kim, Timur, and Patrick, working as entry-level Combat Scouts under the tutelage of former U.S. Army scout Sandra Chavez, are stuck facing this onslaught on, over, and behind the front lines.

All they can do is hang on tight and ride out the storm, doing their part as members of the well organized, yet strangely anarchistic Missoula Regiment.

By September in 1944 Europe The German Resistance has managed to consolidate power in Berlin. Hitler is dead, Goebbels is dead, and the surviving Nazi leadership has gone deep underground. But Eryn isn't even close to safe.

The Allies aren't interested in a negotiated peace, with total victory over Germany so near. And to avoid Germany's ultimate defeat from prematurely spiraling into a blood-drenched civil war, Eryn is forced to help slow the Allied attacks along the Western Front.

On the plus side, the Six Friends can take some solace in their metaphysical ability to travel to Asgard and hang out with the Norse gods and their chosen Einherjar, human war heroes from across time who will fight by the gods' side in the Last Battle.

Which, sadly, is coming all too soon.

Because these human wars are petty skirmishes in a far greater struggle, waged just beyond the rapidly-shredding weave of the Norns, as the paradox Loke has used the Six Friends to unleash expands to consume all Worlds.

I grew up in rural northern California, graduated from UC Berkeley then served in the army. Went on to work jobs in the private and public sectors before diving into academia, earning a couple of graduate degrees while publishing research and teaching undergrads.

Bailed on my doctoral program in 2017 to write speculative science fiction and never looked back. The six-book Bringing Ragnarok saga is now complete, and I'm hard at work on my next project: Bivrost Nine.

I live with my badass wife, two cats, and a black lab who *thinks* he's a cat in the western Willamette Valley.

Epic Writing, Epic Adventure- May the gods find favor in you

Okay, so I will be completely honest with you…this book was about me stepping out of my comfort zone. It’s not a piece I would usually read, but somehow I liked the intro…Then I said, “What the heck, I might as well read a little “This book is a timeless piece, the setting, the plot, the energy is AMAZING! Hats off to Andrew M.Tanner with Book two of “Bringing Ragnarok”

Bringing Ragnarok is a very interesting thriller and the second novel of the series. It has everything I look for in a good story: excellent characters, an intriguing plot with many twists and turns, brilliant settings and lots of emotions. It combines mystery, secrets and brutal conflicts which absorbed me page after page and made me read it compulsively from the very beginning.
This quick and fascinating read, listed as science fiction, is no different from others I have read, but it has unique features of imagination that left me with my head spinning.
The ending of the novel is especially creative and took me quite by surprise. Undoubtedly, this masterpiece shows talent and I am really confident in giving it a five-stars recommendation as it completely fulfilled all my expectations.

The follow-up of a fascinating story
This is the second book in the great saga “Bringing Ragnarok”, which combines history, science fiction and fantasy. Following the events in this mythological story and after the destruction of the world and the epic battle that are developed in the first book, the author is able once again to involve his readers in a wonderful and educational experience.
The style with which it is written and the detailed descriptions of characters and facts make this story as brilliant as the first one. It is so captivating that I soon found myself reading the last pages and wishing for the next instalment.
Undoubtedly, after a great beginning, this story continues being excellent. I recommend it.

With this story picking up where the first in the series left off, we're reminded of the six friends from book 1, who are being used by the God Loke. Forced to defend themselves with whatever is necessary, book two is action-packed and reads with a swift pace to keep readers indulging in the story. I like that book two seemed to give me a chance to get to know the characters and their distinct personalities a bit deeper than I already had, specifically with how they handle under havoc. I love a good story filled with twists and turns and this one did not disappoint. Though I generally don't find myself so drawn to Sci-Fi novels, this one was certainly an exception and one that I would happily recommend.

A breath-taking second part to an amazing story

“Bringing Ragnarok Book II” is the second book of the series written by Andrew Tanner. I have been waiting to read this book for a while, and it turned out to be as addictive as the first one!

Similarly to the first book, the story is set in three different periods simultaneously. The story presents six unexpected heroes in 1944, 2041 and 2147. Apart from being action-packed, the tale is unpredictable and absorbing. It is also a little bit long but it is worth reading it.

This is the book for those who love science fiction and are interested in stories that present an alternative future.
