When Love Goes Wrong... or Does It? What happens when you fall in love with the man trying to ruin the business you’ve built from the ground up?
Camilla “Cami” Graham
At the age of 28 years old, I’ve accomplished most of my goals in life. I own my own business (a popular music website), my house in Rocky River is paid for completely, and I drive a dark green BMW 5 Series to the office every morning. Ten other people depend on me for their livelihood. I act like a Boss because I am one.
The only thing I’ve not found is a man worth my time. Well, until Cameron sits down in my office. By the time I find out he’s trying to actively ruin my company, I’ve developed feelings for him. Deep ones. I don’t have time for a relationship with someone as complicated as him, but I can’t seem to resist him.
Cameron “Cam” Slavinsky
After I hacked the wrong man’s servers and ended up on a mission to destroy Camilla’s business in order to protect my sister who needed my help, I find myself falling for her. Black, beautiful, smart, funny – she is the whole package and more. She comes from a privileged background, so unlike me, but I think we have something special.
How am I supposed to choose between my own flesh and blood and this smart, sassy and sexy businesswoman I’ve come to know? My life is falling apart around me as I make one bad decision after another, but time and time again, Cami is there for me. Will she stand by my side when I make the biggest mistake of my life?
Errors grammatical, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, tensing, voice mix-up. I was feeling good about the premise. Editing was not done or just overlooked. I kept going looking beyond the errors and working real hard to enjoy the story. I could only take so much when things began to be thrown together for a resolution.
story is so good you get to see a family built and a family . This story is one I haven't read before! Tamara takes us through interracial couples, biological children and the new modern family.
I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed this story, and the characters of Camilla Graham and Cameron Slavinsky. This was a different story line for an interracial couple—no billionaire, but it keeps you reading to the end to find out what happened. Camilla is a strong and independent Black businesswoman who has worked hard to have her own company (a popular music website). Camilla’s website keeps crashing and a virus attacks her website right before Cameron starts working for Camilla. What a coincidence? Cameron is a hacker, posing as a self-employed person creating websites for people, but he was hired to hack and destroy Camilla’s business. Will Camilla find out that Cameron lied about what he does, and will he hack Camilla’s servers and destroy her business? Who hired Cameron to destroy Camilla’s business and why? Why would Cameron agree to destroy Camilla’s business? Is he protecting someone? Will there be a HEA for them or will Camilla fire Cameron? This book will pique your interest.
This book had all the right stuff to make a good story but the flow was so far off it seamed like two bad actors reading their lines for the first time. There were scenes like him asking her four her car keys she gives tbgem to him after an exchange of no...why not ...so on and so on she gives him the keys then when he returns he just drives past her house. She's worried about him. It is never explained how they resolved that she never asked where he was why he didn't come back. It just picks up the next day with them at work talking as if last night didn't happen. There where to many scene's in this story like that. I can understand leaving some things to the readers imagination but this is to much and to many times. Even tho the story had severe flow problems it had a good primus which made me read it to the end which was reshed. You could have left out the part of the guy who rescued his sister and put more into the hea.
I hate leaving bad reviews but this book was boring and unbelievable. The two main characters didn't have any chemistry, in my opinion. Why would you willingly give someone part of your company, when you know for a fact he is trying to ruin your business? Why would you willingly enter a relationship with him? Sorry, just too unbelievable for me. There was a second book, but I couldn't bring myself to even try it. The female character, her feelings were all over the place. This book wasn't for me.
