This is the second book in the No Brides Club. This clean romance just took my breath away . This story is just fabulous and even made me cry during certain parts. Heartbreaking in many ways but healing as well. Melody and Brody were childhood friends to teenage lovers with sad consequences. Their hearts were broken as teens but 10 years later they meet again when Melody has to come back to town due to a funeral. She's a big star in the country music world, a famous songwriter for all the stars. She thinks she'll breeze back into town then quickly leave to go back to her oh so important life in the big city. When a lawyer needs to speak to her the news he gives her leaves her and her family reeling and brings back oh so devastating memories she'd rather leave in the past. The decision she makes concerning this will affect not only where she lives, her career as well but the rest of her life. Beautiful and emotional second chance romance. I loved it!

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER DIRECTLY. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

I'd never heard of this author before I learned of this series, but after reading this story, I am definitely interested in looking up more of her work!

I loved how realistic this story was! I think Melody had a perfectly reasonable reaction to what happened as a teenager, and her insecurity was extremely well founded. Brody was a little too pushy for my tastes, but I could again see someone also reacting the way he had to the circumstances. I loved how Melody wound up stepping up, and felt that her hesitation was definitely warranted, even with Grown Up Brody's still pushy nature. Melody's parents were a little too smothering for me, and I was slightly disappointed that we didn't get to see anything of Brody's parent's current nature.

I liked how smoothly the story flowed together, despite the shorter length of it. I wasn't lost at all, and felt like we got a complete and fulfilling story. It definitely kept me entertained! I also think it was better than the previous book in the series! I can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of the series!

When a miscarriage causes Melody Mitchell to lose her and Brody Myers' child, leaving her with only a 10% chance of ever conceiving and carrying to term, she runs fast and far, abandoning her sleepy town of Meadow Creek for a fresh start in Nashville. It's what she does best outside her songwriting and she succeeds for ten years, never looking back.

Until.

Ten years pass and her cousin Trish's funeral prompts Melody to leave the bright lights of New York City for the twinkling stars of Meadow Creek, hoping for a quick visit and to avoid her old love. But the town is small, people talk, and a summons to the town lawyer's office puts Melody in a position she never dreamed would happen.

Sydney Logan has once again created a warm, welcoming world where you want to shake the characters for their foibles, but at the same time, you love and appreciate the humanity they exhibit. We all have mistakes in our pasts. How we handle them moving forward is part of the growing up process.

Melody is a strong, professional woman who in her youth ran from what was a terrible, tragic event. Ten years down the road, she's still running from facing what happened, believing it is better left in the past and ignored. Yet she learns, eventually, you cannot run away from your past forever and owning up to your actions and reactions can help you move on far more rapidly than ignoring them.

And you just might find yourself in the midst of a sweet, happy ending. But you'll need to read No Time for Lullabies to find out if Melody gets hers.

No Time for Lullabies is the second installment from the exciting series No Brides Club. I loved, loved, loved this book. Melody was not a character I cared for in the beginning. That is, until she instantly became a mother to orphaned Macy and has to start interacting with the baby girl’s doctor. Dr Brody Myers just so happen to be Melody’s ex from many years prior. I loved their chemistry together and loved how Melody begins to change. I am giving heart warming story a well deserved five plus stars. Sydney Logan has earned herself a new fan!
I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

No Time for Lullabies is part of the No Brides Club series, but is a complete standalone. This is Melody and Brody's story.

Melody and Brody have loved each other since they were 8 years old.
Growing from best friends to lovers as young adults. A tragedy tears them apart. Can another tragedy years later bring them back together? Can they have their second Chance?

This was a quick, fun, romance with just the right amount of drama and angst. Can Brody and Melody find their happiness once again? I ADORED this story, and the characters! Once again Sydney Logan gives us a sweet and perfect 5 star read.

Melody is terrified when she realizes she has to might become a mom to an orphaned baby. I totally understand. I had the same feelings when I was pregnant, and I had a few months to get used to the idea. Melody only has a few days.
This is such a warm and touching story. I couldn't keep it dry!

I’ve long been a fan of Sydney Logan’s novels. Over the years, she has become of one my automatic one-click authors and, as a result, my expectations run high with each new release. As a writer, Sydney is a master of sweet romance. Whether her stories feature characters in their twenties, searching for their place in the world, or whether they spotlight the highs and lows of adolescent first love, Sydney’s talent never fails to captivate this middle-aged wife and mom. Simply put, Sydney makes romance appear effortless to her readers, so I’m more than happy to recommend her books to adults and teens alike, confident that both will connect with her stories.

No Time For Lullabies is the second book in The No Brides Club, a series of six novels, each written by individual authors. The series centers on a group of six strong, independent women who have all sworn off marriage. This installment specifically focuses on Melody Mitchell, an award winning songwriter living in New York City. Her professional success is a contradiction to her personal life. Years earlier, Melody fled her small town home and her first love after suffering disgrace as a teenager. She’s managed to avoid reconnecting with her past ever since until her the sudden, tragic death of her cousin.

When Melody returns home to attend the funeral, she is shocked to discover that she has been named guardian of her cousin’s infant daughter. Unable to duck in and duck right back out, she must remain in town until the matter is resolved. It doesn’t take long before she bumps into Dr. Brody Myers, the local pediatrician and Melody’s ex-boyfriend. On the surface it might appear that Brody has moved on from Melody, but he has never forgotten her, and he has remained an eligible bachelor.

It doesn’t take long for sparks to fly again after Melody and Brody are reunited. Once the two move past the initial awkwardness, they fall back into their old friendship. But there are complications on both sides. Having already vowed never to marry and fully expecting to return to New York City, Melody struggles with her emotions and finally facing the consequences of her unresolved past. Meanwhile, Brody struggles with opening his heart back up to Melody, worried that she’ll only break it all over again.

This dynamic between Melody and Brody is a perfect showcase of Sydney Logan’s skill as a storyteller. Within the pages of this book, I was caught up in the sweetness of the second chance romance. I admired Melody for her maturity when she was blindsided with the prospect of unexpected motherhood. I respected Brody not only for his professionalism as a doctor, but also for his empathy. Rather than holding on to heartbreak and anger, Brody understands Melody’s predicament and offers his support. But overall, I was moved by the theme of unconditional love that rose to the surface in the wake of an unthinkable tragedy. No Time For Lullabies is an unputdownable novel that runs the full spectrum of emotion and one that I enthusiastically recommend.

Melody Mitchell has the career and the life she's always dreamed of- an award-winning songwriter. She doesn't have time for any distractions like food, phone calls...or love for that matter. She's been there, done that, and she doesn't want to go back down that road again. Yet when a sudden family tragedy calls Mel back to Meadow Creek, she'll find herself wondering and questioning everything that she's done on the road to fame and success, especially when she's named guardian of a freshly orphaned and lonely infant named Macy Rose.

There's a small catch, though- Mel isn't able to have a family of her own naturally. True, she has a 10% of carrying a baby to full term, but that's not enough for Melody. She's sworn off motherhood and love. But can she keep her promise when she meets her childhood sweetheart Brody Myers *and* be a guardian to Macy?

Small-town pediatrician Dr. Brody Myers can't forget the girl who rocked his world when they were eight years old. Sweethearts until the day Mel said that she didn't love him anymore, he can't get her beautiful green eyes and dark brown hair out of his mind...that is, until, a family emergency brings them face-to-face after more than a decade away from each other. With a baby now in the picture, Brody believes that this is his chance to them to be the family that they could never have.

Will Mel leave everything in New York behind for her small-town doctor and a sweet baby girl? Or is she going to continue doing what she's done for so long- running away and never looking back.

I LOVE THIS BOOK! <3 :D <3

I simply loved all the books by Sydney Logan that I've read, and with that it was no different. The author presents us with a story full of love, second chances and some twists.
Melody Mitchell is an award-winning songwriter dedicated to her work, but when a tragedy forces her to return to her small town, she didn't imagine the surprises awaiting her, especially when she learns she's been named guardian of a newly orphaned infant.
Dr. Brody Myers, a small-town pediatrician, can't forget the girl who broke his heart long time ago. And when she returns to town and they come face-to-face after more than a decade apart, he quickly realizes that nothing has changed and that he continues to love Melody.
Brody and Melody will enjoy the second chance that life is giving them, or will Brody have his heart broken again?
I loved the story and the characters. I'm really enjoying this series and I highly recommend the reading.

The authors at Sweet Promise Press are bringing us a series of six standalone novels centered around a group of friends who’ve made a pact to put their careers before marriage. Calling themselves the No Brides Club, they all have different reasons for their decision.

This second book in the series focuses on Melody Mitchell, aptly named since she’s a successful songwriter and producer. After escaping painful memories in her hometown, she’s made a name for herself in Nashville and Manhattan. A tragic death brings her back to the small town where she grew up, and where she is now forced to face some of her demons.

Confronted with her sudden guardianship over her cousin’s baby, Melody is thrown together with her ex, Brody Myers, on a regular basis. Love was never the issue with them, and it is clear that they have never stopped thinking about each other. I really enjoyed reading about their connection, proving that true love transcends time and separation. The problem lies within the tragedy of their youth, and how they both handled that differently. Melody needs to learn not to run, but instead talk about her fears, and allow people to help her. This is a wonderful journey to witness.

Brody is understandably hurt by events of the past, but unable to deny his love for Melody. I like how he instantly accepts Macy as par o Melody’s life, and shows his devotion to them both.

The is some drama and angst in the story, stemming both from Melody’s hang-ups as well as events beyond her control. These situations force her to reevaluate her life and decisions, as well as help move the story forward. Throughout the story, it warmed my heart to see Melody’s friends step up and support her.

Overall, this is a sweet and wholesome story about love and loss, and the sacrifices sometimes needed to overcome past hurt.

Don’t forget to check out the other books in the No Brides Club series!

Melody Mitchell suffered loss at a young age, making her focus on a career and ignoring any chance at a love life. When her cousin is killed in an auto accident, she discovers that she's now the guardian to a 9 month old baby girl.
Going back to the hometown she couldn't run away from fast enough when she was still a teenager, Melody runs into the one and only man she's ever loved. Turns out Brody Myers is the new town pediatrician, so their paths are bound to cross as long as she stays in town.
A heartbreaking story of overcoming your past, but not throwing away the possibilities for future happiness. Melody and Brody have a love that most people can only dream about. I couldn't put this book down until I finished and I highly recommend it!

I absolutely loved this book. Once again, the author has gotten me so hooked on the first few pages that I didn’t want to put the book down. This was a wonderful, easy read that really tugged at your heart strings. The characters are all so well written and real. You felt like you could jump in the book and already know everyone. I also would really like to be with the rest of the No Brides Club in NYC at the tavern.

The stories main character, Melody Mitchell, left her small hometown to become a very busy, and successful songwriter and producer. Life was great in New York City. The other main character, Dr. Brody Myers, is the hometown pediatrician. Melody and Brody were sweethearts since they were 8 years old. But after after high school, Melody went to Nashville to make it big breaking both hers and Brody’s heart. When Melody comes back to town for a funeral not only does her heart start to flutter seeing Brody but learns she’s been left with the deceased's wishes of being the guardian of a 9 month adorable baby girl. Melody can’t picture herself as a mom and has a lot of baggage to overcome. So what will Melody do and where does that put Brody, I’m not spoiling it, you’ll have to read the book yourself and I know you won’t be disappointed.

No time for lullabies was an incredible second chance read that was an incredible sweet read. there were a number heartbreaking moments throughout the story. I really loved this story and found the storyline to be really beautiful. I really loved the characters within the story and thought they were perfect for each other.

Melody is the strong and independent heroine of the story that faced a lot of things in the story that she had been avoiding. It was evident in the story how much the character grew as she faced her past and Brody.

Brody was the hot town doctor who was the high school sweetheart of Melody. I absolutely loved the way that he still loved Melody despite the fact that she broke his heart. I loved the way that he was there and cared for Melody and the baby within the story.

Sydney Logan really brings the feels with this story creating such a sweet story that had the perfect mix of emotion. I cannot wait to read whatever the author writes next

Melody, now a Grammy winning songwriter and Brody, a pediatrician, loved each other as friends when they were eight years old. At eighteen, their love continued to grow until they suffered a terrible loss. Now, at the age of thirty, can they discover the possibilities of finally being together? This second book of the No Brides Club series is so full of emotions. As Ms. Logan so beautifully wrote, "Pretty words that make you feel something are always worth listening to, even if they make you cry." Well , Sydney, I cried, but they were indeed happy tears. I highly recommend this book and eagerly await the next one in this series and others from her own collection. Kudos, Ms. Logan!

I really liked Melody and Brody, and although the premise felt a little off, it still earns four out of five stars from me.
There was a ton of emotional impact in this book. But, I still couldn't see Melody as anything except self-deceived. She had made herself believe SHE was the one who needed to pay for everything, bear the guilt for everyone, and still imagined herself to be happy in her empty life in Manhattan. I also don't think she ever really learned differently, but in the end she let Brody love her and she "gave up" things for him.
Definitely lots of "feels" in this one, but the character depth wasn't all it could be.

Another wonderful second-chance love story from Sydney Logan. This is the story of Melody Mitchell, a successful songwriter, and Brody Myers, a small-town doctor. Attached at the hip in the teen years, Melody chooses to escape their small town and try her luck at songwriting in Nashville, eventually making it big in the Big Apple. Until a family tragedy takes her back home. While she’s back home, she tries to avoid Brody, but this story is all about getting a second chance at finding love and family. It really hits the mark!

In the words of the author, “Pretty words that make you feel something are always worth listening to even if they make you cry.”—I couldn’t have expressed my feelings about this book if I tried!

Standalone book in a series of 6, No Time for Lullabies proved to be the perfect read over the days off I recently enjoyed. Melody and Brody are well-developed characters. The author carefully built their backstories, intertwining them just so to make them believable and "relatable". I liked the journey the author brought us on. I felt like I got to know the characters and it made is easy to understand where they were coming from, why they were making some life decisions even though at first I would have liked them to make different ones. I really feel like Melody's emotional growth throughout the novel was real and I really felt for her. I recommend this book because it warms your heart without being sappy and "too easy" a story. Well done Sydney Logan!

Sydney Logan this book was the perfect blend of love, heartache and joy. I am a sucker for second chance love stories and babies so this book was a great combination for me. Macy just stole my heart and I loved that you named the songwriter Melody. Let’s not forget Brody...who doesn’t love a southern boy who never forgot or got over his first love. I love music and especially country music and I adore women who chase their dreams, so this was a win win for me. Even though Melody made me crazy sometimes confusing chasing and running but I will let your fans read the story to find out more about that. Oh how I couldn’t get enough of her parents and the insight they brought through the pages. They made me laugh and smile.
I didn’t want this book to end. Ms. Logan this book is beautiful, passionate and downright cozy. Sydney, your touching heartfelt story made me want to make time for a lullaby. I could read this story again and again.

This is a good sweet (clean) second chance romance. Book two in a six book series of stand-alones. (Each book written by a different author, and features a different woman from the 'No Brides Club' of single and independent women.) The women in the club have small roles in each of the books, but they can be read as a stand alone. In this particular book, Melody has lived the past decade of her life in NY where she is a successful song writer/producer. Living her dream life.... just without her dream man. When tragedy strikes, she has no clue that her life is about to turn topsy turvy, and then she has to face the boy (now man) whose heart she broke all those years ago. Anger, awkwardness, sadness, heartbreak, and joy. This book has a little bit of everything. Melody is a strong independent and successful women who tends to be a bit selfish since she's basically only ever had herself to worry about. Now she has to worry about another person (or two) and old habits are hard to break. Can she let go of her own needs to care for another's or will hearts break once again? The Hero of the book is sweet and patient. Yet he doesn't let her get away with too much before talking a stand for himself. It's a quick and easy read that flows smoothly. It's written in third person POV. As I mentioned, it is a clean read and safe for teens and up.

*I received an ARC of this book.

This is part of the No Brides Club books and can be read as a standalone, there is no need to read the first one unless you really want to. Melody and Brody were young when they fell in love but tragedy struck them and Melody ran away. 10 years later and tragedy strikes again, Melody is faced with a difficult decision. She returns home to attend the death of her family member but never expects to inherit an infant. Melody doesn’t know what to do until she looks the baby in the eyes then she knows what was meant to be with her life. Brody has returned home and became the pediatrician of the small town him and Melody grew up in. When they see each other again its not one filled with happiness, because it becomes awkward and stilted. Even with 10 years passing they both feel love, lost and sadness from the past. When they are constantly pushed together during her stay their old feelings resurface. Melody is not ready for her feelings and Brody is scared she will run away again. They must face the past instead of running away from it but can Brody make Melody see through her stubbornness.

This is a quick read and filled with heartache, love and a beautiful baby that will bring two people the happiness they have been missing. Melody and her group of friends have a group called the No Brides Club that do not believe in being married except one of them is engaged to be married. One by one each girl will be featured in a different story written by different authors and this one is about Melody and Brody. My favorite part of this book was the baby and she just brought me to tears a few times. Melody and Brody gave me a headache with their back and forth drama. There is just so much stubbornness I can take to which Melody just took her stubbornness to a whole other level. I must give Brody credit he tried to fight and it was a fight for the strongest person. He is that person and so perfect for Melody and the baby. This was a sweet romance with a perfect baby thrown in to make you all gooey inside. I love it when a story can come together.

Each book of the No Brides Club series has me hooked in the first chapter. I am loving these stories. This one by Sydney Logan features Melody and Brody, childhood sweethearts. When circumstances occur right out of high school, Melody takes off to find her new happiness and leaves Brody behind with a broken heart. Now she is returning upon the death of her cousin to take on a whole new responsibility. But what will happen when she sees Brody? Will the spark still be there? And will she return to New York to continue her dream? And is it still her dream? I love, love, love this! Brody is quite the man. I love how time has let him mature, finding his path but never really giving up on his forever girl. Melody is forced to face her demons, and start a new phase of life. I love how these two meld together and the ending just melts my heart. Can't wait for more.

Stephanie Willing is a wonderful narrator and I really enjoy her voice. She has an innocence that shines through and helps form her characters. Easily flowing from male to female voices, she lets us feel and understand how theses characters think. And the little suspense is built up too with her inflections. I loved her performance.

From the opening of the prologue I was hooked. How could Melody leave the love of her life Brody and survive? It takes a strong woman to walk away and an even stronger woman to go through what they did in their relationship.

Ten years later and Sydney has made a successful name for herself and is living the life! She is also part of The No Brides Club, which makes her career and independence take precedence over everything else. Until she has to go back to her hometown for a family funeral. Enter a blast from her past: Brody. Her ex-boyfriend, the one she left so long ago and never stopped loving.

So much going on right there and that’s what I enjoyed the most about this read. It weaves so many layers together that I couldn’t help but want to know what was going to happen. I love that Brody couldn’t stay away from Melody and that at every corner he was there to offer her support. I love that Melody made decisions for herself and Macy and didn’t let her fears get the best of her.

Beautiful romance story with lots of heart emojis, happiness and love. I enjoyed reading this book and enjoyed reading Ms. Sydney Logan for the first time.

I am just loving this series No Brides Club. This book two is from an author that I have not had the pleasure of reading before this book and I am so going to be checking out her other books as I just fall in love with this book and characters. This was a second chance romance which will melt your heart as the characters find themselves in a position to fix the mistakes of the past and maybe just try again. I highly recommend this book and the series as it is a sweet tale of love and fate.

Melody Mitchell was told some life-changing news ten years ago that made her change her life completely and make decition to forgo love for the good of the other person. After tragedy hits her family she may just get a second chance or will it all be too much responsibility for her to take one.

Small-town pediatrician Dr. Brody Myers has found happiness with his career but in life, he has never completely gotten over the girl that broke his heart many years ago. They had a life full of dreams until it all came crashing down around them both.

What will happen when Melody returns home to attend a family funeral and see Brody for the first time since she broke both their hearts?

Will Brody want to take another chance with his heart knowing her place is in New York?

Melody and Brody's story will touch you and have you believing in second chances, even 10 years later! I have to say that in this book, I liked Brody the best! Melody was a good character but she was kind of mean to Brody and he must have really loved her to stay IN love with her for so many years because she pushed him away at every turn! However, she did have a dream and she wanted to follow it so you can't fault her for that. I just have a tendency to put my personal personality and preferences onto characters in books - ha ha!!!! The No Brides Club are women that have decided to put their careers first and foremost over anything else, especially romance and Melody has done that. She is a famous songwriter and lives a fancy live in NYC but she can't quite forget her first love - Brody - although it's been 10 years. You'll have to read the book and see why she becomes an instant mother, something she never thought she'd become! Brody is now a pediatrician so their lives become tangled once again! A truly sweet book!
