Without You was Em's story. This is Cam's. Cameron McKinney has spent most of his adult life taking care of his mother and trying to keep her addiction under control. Endless days and nights of worrying make Cam's life unpredictable and mundane. But when he decides to spend a night out with friends rather than go straight home to his mom, his worst fears become reality. After nearly losing his mom to her addiction, Cam's guilt begins to consume him. Deciding to leave everything and everyone behind in Dallas, he packs everything he owns into his car and moves two hours away. Two months after leaving his mother behind, Cam has begun to piece his life back together. Finally having taken his life into his own hands, he is swayed into a night out once again. But who he meets makes him question every decision he's ever made for himself. Emiline Ward is unlike any woman Cam has ever met. Somehow with one look from her deep brown eyes, Cam's world is shattered. Unable to keep his distance, he fights his feelings for a seemingly unavailable woman under impossible circumstances.Cam must decide whether Em would live a better, more fulfilling life without him or risk breaking promises to the one woman who reminds him that forgiveness and love make life worth living. Without Me is the companion novel to Without You. It can be read as a standalone, however it is recommended you read Without You first.

Brittany is a bestselling author known for writing angst filled romance that will have your heart both melting and racing. She currently resides in Maine with the love of her life (her husband), and her two wonderful sons.
I went in to this book only knowing it would be from Cam’s point-of-view. What I didn’t realize was that Cam’s story would gut me. I have no experience with addiction and yet, Brittany Taylor made sure I felt everything Cam was feeling - I was fully along for the ride. I knew this was a romance so I spent the first few chapters with baited breath, waiting for Cam to meet the girl who would change his life, and as cheesy as that moment was, I cheered internally as Cam’s life finally seemed to be heading in the right direction. The ups and downs that followed their initial meeting had me both laughing and crying until the very end, however, there were moments I wanted to know more about Em’s actions and reactions to different situations. Therefore I may eventually have to read Without You to better see the whole picture, but I was glad I got to cheer for Cam first. Finally I enjoyed the way Cam & Em’s story wrapped up, but I’m not quite ready to give up these characters and would love stories about some of the supporting characters like Em’s brother Graham and roommate Sara or Cam’s uncle Jordan.
I cannot get enough of Cam and Em's story. I loved getting an inside look into Cam's past and what made him the man he is today. It broke my heart seeing Cam go through the things he did but I admired his strength and determination to make something out of his life. Watching him meet and fall in love with Em was beyond beautiful. Their love is so pure and genuine. Em had her own battles she was working through but together her and Cam knocked down all their walls and built an incredible relationship. I highly encourage you to check out this book. You don't want to miss out on Cam and Em's heartwarming journey to love.
I really liked Without You and Without Me is even better! Written from Cam's perspective, I loved getting to know him deeper. I adore him. ADORE HIM! I was rooting for him from the start. I liked his sweet nature and yet he wasn't a push over. I appreciated his wanting to serve by joining the Navy something I know the author knows all about. Having experience with a family member who is an addict I connected with Cam and how it affected him. Over all I just really liked him and I think it's OK to admit I liked him more than Em. Definitely read Without You first because I loved getting both perspectives! Em and Cam's story is a real life kind of story which are the ones I like to read the most. Really well done!
"Without you I’m nothing, together we’re everything."
I haven't read EM's book yet but I sort of wish I did before I dove into this one. Only because I loved Cam so much more than her, which makes sense because it's his story. I love Cam for several reasons but I think the biggest is that he's kind and sweet and just a regular person. In a genre where every guy seems to be the billionaire- jerk face, this book offers a different kind of guy and I totally loved it. So heartwarming and sweet but full of character growth and facing hard things while overcoming adversity. If your ready to laugh, and even cry a little and definitely fall head over heels for the guy then this book is for you. ❤️
This was a complete re-telling of Without You from Cam's point-of-view, and I am so happy that I read this. I loved Cam in Without You, but this...just I can't even put it into words. He is an amazing Hero, and to see his struggles and everything through his eyes just made me love him so much. Great job again, and I cannot wait for more!
New to me author and while I thought the writing style was ok, it took me too long to really get into the book and I struggled to get to the halfway mark. Once I got there though, I was invested enough to finish and I was pleased I kept going. I'll look out for more from the author.
Wow never fails! This is cams point of view grab your tissues it gets emotional! You can read this alone but you should read without me too there both great additions!
Can we say OMG OMG!!!!! His point of view was something I need it. You fall in love with him 100 times more. I am thankful for reading this beautiful story.
Since I'm retired i read most of the time, I found that this book should have been combined with WITHOUT YOU as it is a duplicate. I read the reviews as I enjoyed WITHOUT YOU; however, I couldn't understand why they didn't include that this was basically the same. Without you was the first book I've read by Brittany. I will read more of this author and hopefully other books won't be a ditto.
Seeing the book through Cam's thought and eyes was quite different . Knowing the basic story line, but seeing it from both sides, makes for great entertainment.
*Read more of my reviews at Whoo Gives A Hoot* Without Me is Brittany Taylor's second release and the companion novel to her debut novel, Without You, which can be read as a standalone. This was the first book that I've read from her and I've got to say that I really enjoyed it! The characters were relatable and I really liked getting to know them in this story. So much so that I definitely want to read the author's debut novel now when I have a free moment in my reading scheduled.
I am really happy that I read this story and I cannot wait to see what the author has in store for readers next! I totally recommend checking out this book because Em and Cam will capture your heart right from the beginning and hold on until the end! Make sure to pick up your copy of Without Me today!
