Thankful Tenys wants very much for the thoughts and intents of her mind to stay hers. But now that she knows she's living with a Reader, a mind-reading manipulator, that just isn't possible. Nothing is safe; nothing is secret.
Glimpses of her near future haven't been private for months now, at least not from Liam. But she doesn't mind that so much. It could be Liam's gentle touch that keeps her from caring or possibly the fact that her heart has dived deep into the fathomless waters of his affection. She swims, breathes, and survives all for the love of the Knowing, Liam Gregor.
But after six years of no communication, her father makes contact, only to tell her she can't trust her Reader aunt or her Knowing boyfriend. Thankful has been abandoned by her dad, lied to by her aunt, humiliated by her friends, even her terminally ill mother has deceived her. While Liam has only brought joy into her dismal life.
Is Liam's love something the universe will allow her to hold on to? All signs point to... no.
The second installment in this series The Untouched Trilogy, started right where book 1 left us. It's a fast paced novel packed with a lot of emotions and suspense. This novel wasn't as romance-heavy just like the previous one, but it had just enough to keep me satisfied and going.
The story is fast-paced and exciting. There were many unanswered questions that were eventually resolved within the series.
The characters are developed really well in this book. I've to say I developed a love-hate relationship with Phoebe. Liam, oh boy so much heartbreak, no hatred for him. He's just so good. In this book, Liam and Phoebe decided to call a truce as they nearly lost something so valuable to them, ( I said nearly). I don't wanna spoil it for readers, so let's leave this topic. Their truce worked so well, as Phoebe understood Liam also. I adore Ellis, Phoebe, Liam and Thankful's relationship. All the side characters turned out really well.
This story is full of twists and turns. You never know what's going to happen next. And just like its predecessor, this novel ends with a bang. I am so excited for the next book in this series. I love that there are so many surprises. Kept me on my toes the whole time. I couldn't put it down.
On a good note, though, the story was a quick read, and it ended on another interesting cliffhanger.
Phenomenal! Atkinson has done it again with her beautifully crafted story. Just as book 1 did, it touched, poked, prodded and pulled at the heartstrings of readers as we followed Thankful's journey, reminding us of the importance of family, love and friendship. This book took me on an emotional roller coaster and left me with so many questions but makes me all the more excited for her next book Undone! An excellent, clean novel. Perfect for all ages.
It’s a bit weird. Random things are happening including mean girls. I’m not really sure who is who or who to trust. But I just started the book will update as I go.
Things start to get clearer by the end. Ends on a cliff hanger. Excited to read the next.
Content: Clean only kissing and no cursing that I remember. Sick mom Fighting Guns Father that leaves Death/blood (not super descriptive) Sick mom
First of all, I absolutely cannot wait till the third book is released. The way this book ends? Shivers. I just adore Thankful and Liam and this whole Reader/Knowing world. Plus, I think we all need a dad-type figure like Troy. He's my favorite.
The second book in the Untouched series, it was just as good as the first. It pulls at your heartstrings and makes you feel so much, but through all the hardships they face, you still have glimpses of hope.
I literally screamed when I finished the book!! The way Jen left the ending is like “no no no! I have to see the reaction!!”
You have to read Untouched in order to understand Unknown. Thankful grows closer to her aunt and also Liam. In this book we get to be in Liam’s thoughts for part of it. We learn just how he feels about Thankful and how protective he is.
Forgiveness is key...but maybe not for the one being forgiven...to not have hate on your heart.. You never know what will happen the next moment...
