Introverted computer scientist Maximilian Gutenberg had no intention of acquiring a crystal with a being trapped inside, especially not one with the power to save — or destroy — humanity.
Her name is Lucy, and she cannot escape her prison until her mission is complete. A mission she keeps secret from everyone, even Max.
But she needs his help.
To gain his trust, she offers to get rid of his abusive boss in one week, and get him that promotion he always wanted. She’ll make him the hero of his own life, a man worthy of recognition, in exchange for helping her complete her mission.
This could be the opportunity of Max’s life, but he can’t help but wonder if Lucy is as good as she seems… And exactly what mission she must complete to regain her freedom.
Set in a dystopian, futuristic city built miles into the sky, “CODE: Revelation” is a powerful, psychological thrill ride that calls into question the nature of good and evil, and the importance of taking control of your own destiny.
Boris Sanders started to write at a very early age, in fact, so much so that, for his mother's surprise, the doctor who delivered him insisted to have seen some marks that resembled words inside her womb. His intellect is quite advantaged, having learned 37 languages by the age of 14, of which 35 were created by him, don't have a writing form, and only he can speak and understand them. In addition, he has a photographic memory, as long as an actual photo was taken during the occasion.
In his spare time Boris likes to swim in waterless pools and investigate the mysteries of the universe, while sitting on his comfortable couch, effectively doing nothing. He has a particular taste for olives of any kind.

A great an enjoyable dystopian sci-fi book. With likable or relatable characters. I really enjoyed seeing the characters develop from what they were at the start to what they become.
I also like the moral challenges in the book. For the greater good, but the necessity of sacrifices. One thing that I really liked about this book is in the different scenarios almost every aspect I could think of was covered.
The pace of the book is perfect for the story, with twist great twists and turns in the story, to keep things interesting.
A great start to this series. With the characters more established I can't wait to see what happens next.

This was by far the best ARC I've read until now. Boris Sanders has a great potential and a lot of talent!!!
I really enjoyed the story, very unique and full of interesting ideas! The plot was enough to keep me intrigued and wanting to read more. Set in a dystopian, futuristic city, it was definitely fast paced and I was constantly in the state of curiosity. Is a powerful, psychological thriller that calls into question the nature of good and evil, and the importance of taking control of your own destiny. I can't wait to read the next book. Thank you Boris for trusting me with your work, this is the kind of book that I live for.
Boris Sanders novel, Code: Revelation, starts by introducing Max (Maximilian Gutenberg), the main character, who joins in a dialogue with his self-built personal robot, “X”. Thus the futuristic setting of the book is immediately apparent. Max lives in the city of Emporion, which has fifty levels that reach up into the sky five miles.
Max catches the vertical train to his office where he works for a boss he hates. After a long day of work, Max stops at a shop on his way home and buys his girlfriend, Julia Fernandez, a gold ring to celebrate the second anniversary of their first date. He selects a hinged, flip-top jewelry box to present it.
The second chapter introduces the second major character, Lucy. When Max gets home, he opens the jewelry box and discovers a shard of glass where Lucy resides inside. Lucy first appears in Max’s weird dream that night. Lucy next appears in Max’s office seeking his help to accomplish a mission. In return she promises to help Max get a promotion, which sets the stage for the rest of the story. Very few things go as planned and have unintended consequences.
The story was intricate and took a very sophisticated imagination. It has been a while since I’ve read a sci–fi, futuristic novel. The character development and story line are excellent and logically written in an easy-to-follow manner. I highly recommend this novel with a four star rating.
Decent, fast-paced high-tech dystopian, featuring a corporate America Clone, super hi-rises, and cool alien interference.
Starting out with a retiring IT guy and breaking him out of his shell is the name of the game, getting the help of a rather smart other-intelligence. Some of the funniest scenes are how the two of them interact, or rather, how our poor hero is thrown into situation after situation, learning to sink or swim.
It's fun, quick-paced, and bright. I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy this shiny technological dystopia. I personally really loved the later reveals and the situation of the Earth. :)
Meet Max, a regular guy in a dystopian world who is about to find himself in a most “un-regular” situation that all started when he needed a special present to celebrate the anniversary of his first date with girlfriend and love of his life, Julia. How could he know that the second hand jewelry box with a shard of glass in it would hold Lucy, an alien who claims to have been the catalyst for mankind’s greatest achievements? Are her claims true that she can change his destiny and that of the world he lives in? Is he ready to assume that responsibility or will he miss the forest for the trees of his personal desires?
CODE:REVELATION by Boris Sanders is an easy to read science fiction tale filled with humor, quirky characters, a robot or two and one of the most unlikely heroes that readers cannot help but love! No over-the-top machismo, some questionable antics, a little romance and an alien with some fantastic claims and ideas!
Will Max find that if it’s too good to be true, maybe it isn’t or will he find there may be a pot of gold in the form of a better world at the end of this crazy ride if he just takes the bull by the horns and creates his own destiny?
A fun read that flew on by! Definitely one to take a look at!

I’m going to break down this review into three parts: story, world, and writing.
First, the story. I really enjoyed the story! The plot was enough to keep me intrigued and wanting to read more. It was definitely fast paced and we were constantly in the state of things happening. I think the story could have used some slower moments to flesh things out - I mean it’s only 200 pages - but that didn’t stifle my enjoyment. I also thing the ending could have packed a bigger punch, but I’m interested enough to read the next book!
Second, the world. I think this world is really fascinating. A city of levels where only the elite can see real sunlight. It’s so interesting! I would have loved some more world building rather than the tidbit Lucy gives us near the end. But what we did learn was done in a very tasteful way. I don’t think there were any info-dumpy parts which I’m grateful for.
Finally, the writing. There were definitely some parts in which the writing could have been touched up slightly. Some of the descriptions felt over the top and unnecessary and I would have preferred a more “show, don’t tell” approach. Some of the dialogue did feel a bit forced between characters and I think there was an overuse of the exclamation point. But overall the writing did not distract me from the fact that i enjoyed this story very much. This can definitely be something to improve upon in the next book!
Max has a regular life, he goes to work, has a horrible boss, and tries to be a great boyfriend. He goes searching for the perfect gift for his girlfriend's birthday and finds a antique ring in an beautiful box. He finds a piece of what appears to be glass in the bottom of the box. This glass contains a being that is on a mission, she needs Max's help to complete the mission, but won't tell him what it is. He is reluctant to help, what if she wants to wipe out the planet?? He finally agrees and is set out on a journey full of twists and turns that will leave you guessing.
Very well written, the world is a futuristic world full of new technologies, but still has a very distinctive social and financial class system. If you enjoy a expertly written novel that will keep you on your toes, this is the book for you.

The Review
This sci-fi techno thriller is truly one of a kind. The characters instantly draw you in, from protagonist Max who finds himself thrust into an adventure like no other, to girlfriend Julia and her mission to discover the truth, and the mysterious Lucy and the history spanning mission she has been on since the dawn of time.
This novel’s strongest aspect has to be the world building. The setting is incredibly vivid as the author creates a futuristic society based on clear cut class systems, state of the art technology and a massive city surrounded by a dome and cut off from the outside world. The story blends technology and suspense expertly, and the author’s command of the genre instantly draws readers into this massive story.
The Verdict
This is a fantastic sci-fi novel that deserves to be read. The first in a series, this story delves into themes such as greed, power, and humanity’s reliance on technology. A fast read of only a little over 200 pages, this story packs quite a punch and will leave readers anxious to read the next novel in the series. Max Gutenberg's life isn't terrible. He's a computer genius and someday he'd like to ask his beautiful girlfriend to be his wife. But at work, he is constantly beaten down by his incompetent jerk-of-a- boss and Max wonders if he has been destined never to reach his full potential. Then Max inadvertently brings home a mysterious crystal containing an otherworldly being who refers to herself as "Lucy". She is a prisoner and she will remain so until she carries out a secret mission. To complete this mission she needs Max's help and in return she will help Max take control of his own destiny.
This fast-paced, SF Dystopian is a thrill of a read! The characters are well-written and feel very real in all their imperfections and transgressions. This makes them relatable and impossible not to sympathize with and root for. The writing is well-done, very inviting and not filled with overly complicated science-fiction terms. There is even a thorough glossary included at the end of the book to explain terms that were mentioned in more detail. The book could use a touch up in terms of editing but that is an easy fix. The story itself was engrossing from beginning to end. The world-building was fantastic! I could vividly see the futuristic, multi-leveled city with its horizontal and vertical train system, far out of reach from any natural light.
I'm looking forward to seeing Max, Julia, and Lucy in the next book!
When the constant nitpicking by a petty boss flares into an ambition to act and stop the mental torture once and for all, Maximilian Gutenberg (Max) finds himself depressed and living life like an automaton. And when he finally manages to pick up a gift from a dusty old shop, his life gets completely transformed. Well, the gift was beautiful but not as special as the gift box, which holds a small crystal that is “home” to a being with supernatural powers and superhuman wisdom.
I have always been a fan of fantasies but a lot of the fantasy books lately have let me down due to their extremely depressing dystopia themes or their lack of any sort of connection to the reality in which we live. In this case, however, I think that Boris Sanders has risen above these common snags and found a way to create a fantasy world that is firmly rooted in reality and presents a theme that is truly unique and enjoyable.
I always love it when I stumble across books that don’t allow me to guess what is going to happen the next minute, and I think Code: Revelation easily falls into that category.
Boris Sanders has a very quirky bio, he obviously has a unique perspective and sense of humor which I instantly liked and it made me look forward to reading his book Revelation. When I first read the synopsis I couldn’t help thinking of the old series, I Dream of Jeannie; and strangely, even though the worlds could not be further apart in years, technology and society, the thought stayed with me and I have to admit to picturing the characters as they were on TV. At times there were some slightly odd choices of dialogue, but it's hardly worth mentioning as they can happily be forgiven…a little like receiving the perfect Christmas gift in birthday wrapping paper. The pace is great, the humor didn't disappoint, the plot is entertaining and the characters are delicious. Although the book rounded out with a very satisfying ending I was certainly left wanting a sequel. Congratulations Boris, your first book was truly entertaining.
Maximilian Gutenberg is a computer scientist who purchased a gift for his girlfriend and in the process inadvertently acquired a crystal containing a being trapped inside of it with the power to save or destroy humans called Lucy. To gain Max's trust in order to get him to help her with a secret mission, she offers to get rid of his rather nasty and abusive boss within one week and in the process make him a man worthy of recognition. This is a story set in a dystopian future in a city built miles into the sky where the value of taking control of your own destiny and the complicated balance between good and evil are part of the lessons he will realise. Can Max get through all of this unscathed and be able to help Lucy while helping himself?
This was a really enjoyable story that as I got more into it became more and more addictive. Yes, there were a couple of parts that I didn't enjoy but I enjoyed it a lot more than I didn't. It was well written and easy to read as well as understand. There was no complicated code so you won't find that difficult to understand (although a little bit of code might have added to the story). Max was an endearing character and it was easy to work out the bad guys just from the way they were described (which I have to admit made me annoyed with Max not seeing it either!). A good read that was very enjoyable
Code: Revelation is a unique, fast-paced, Sci-Fi Techno Thriller. I was instantly drawn in from the beginning and the action kept me sucked in the entire novel.
I really loved the world building. The setting is vivid and Boris Sanders has a real talent for describing a futuristic society. The story blends technology and suspense, which was very compelling for me as a reader. I think this aspect was the strongest part of the novel.
This is the first in a series that I am really interested in continuing. I highly recommend checking Code: Revelation out. It packs a punch and left me wanting more!

I quite enjoyed the premise and the initial setting of this novel. I think it needed more explanation and depth but it was developed enough for the first book in a series. I can't say I liked any of the main characters because Max was mostly the average guy in a sci-fi movie/book and I didn't find him very interesting. I also found his relationship with Lucy to be weird from the very beginning. The plot was quite fast-paced which is a big plus. But I simply couldn't be that engaged in the story so the pacing didn't help much in my case, probably because I often found the writing to be immature and lacking style.
Overall, I think it's a pretty solid first novel that needs more work and thought but has enough potential to be entertaining.
Max is a computer scientist working hard all day for his abusive boss. When buying a gift for his girlfriends he gets a box with it. But it's not just a regular box, in it hides a being called Lucy. She needs his help in order to escape and is willing to help him first, to prove her powers.
She fashions an elaborate plan to get rid of his boss and get him an amazing job and make his a hero in the process.
Max looks forward to what the plan will bring him but is not prepared for the collateral damage that comes with it.
My favorite part of the book was the setting. Max lives in a dystopian future city that is built so high in the sky that most people see an artificial sky when looking up.
It's a very complex story, with lots of twist and turns...
This is an interesting book. I would say that I didn't care for the first 1/3 of the book. The writing was choppy and amatueur-ish. I did find that, as the table-setting was done, and the book moved into the core plot, my interest increased.
I find that this book primary needs polishing. Given that it is the writer's first work, I look forward to what is next in the series. Frankly, Sci-Fi is not my preferred genre, but I found that the more engrossed I got in the story, the more comfortable I became with the book.
