Coffee table self reflection. The illustrations were cute, and some of the "life lessons" were things to think about, but overall I would classify this as fluff.

Charming Canine Love, but Inconsistent Mindfulness

[Introduction: Format and Target Audience]

Be More Dog is a light, easy read that you can dip in and out of as you please, making it a perfect "on the go" book to pick up whenever you fancy a little lift. With its lovely presentation and theme, it would make a perfect gift for dog lovers.

[Praise: Love and Presentation]

The book truly shines when it focuses on the heart of canine companionship. I loved all the quotes about the love of having a dog and the sheer happiness they bring to you. The lovely illustrations throughout the book add to its charming and warm presentation.

[Critique: Mindfulness and Mantras]

The core focus of the book is "doggy mindfulness for humans," offering mantras to apply to our daily lives. This is where the book became a bit uneven for me. Some of the advice was genuinely helpful, but others I felt were a bit daft. Ultimately, I would have preferred the book to have focused entirely on the love of having a dog and the happiness they bring, rather than the varying levels of helpfulness in the mindfulness sections.

[Conclusion]

On the whole, it was an okay read. If you are looking for a sweet, aesthetically pleasing book about why dogs are the best, this works. If you are deeply invested in serious mindfulness practice, you might find the advice inconsistent.

This book is definitely one for the coffee table. There’s a lot of anthropomorphizing of dogs in order to use play on words for these “dog mantras”. I think it’s a lot of bologna but I understand and appreciate the sentiment. I did enjoy the illustrations in the book very much. As far as a self-help book, it’s just okay.

As far as self-help books based on the lives of dogs go, I guess this is alright.
A fun little thing but not that different from the run of the mill motivational stuff you find on posters. Bonus points for the cute art though.

I read the Dutch version of this book 'Kwispel Door Je Leven', I got this as a birthday gift.

Sometimes the message was lost because of the translation....

I really loved reading this book and the illustrations are really cute.

A nice gift for a doglover.

Tiene muy buenos consejos pero si son llevados al extremo se convertirían en positividad tóxica .
