Bear Clan #2

BEARly Mated to the Grizzly

Rate this book
I’d once been a great dancer. A ballerina. But an injury ended my career, had me longing to go back in time, had me loathing the city and the very profession I’d once loved.

So, I decided to get away from it all, go out in the middle of nowhere to clear my head, and focus on what was important.

Things were going great until a bear was at my back door, trying to get in. And it ended with me wielding a knife for protection and realizing it wasn’t just any bear, but a shifter who claimed to be my mate.

Maddix.
Strong and powerful, his very presence had me questioning my entire existence. The mating was fast and furious, potent and real. It was everything I ever wanted, and everything I never thought I’d have.

It was all wrapped in one whirlwind, insta-lust experience.

But could I give myself over fully to Maddix? Could I truly leave the city and the life I’d always known behind?

Could I do it all for the promise of love from one possessive, the territorial bear shifter who would do anything to make me happy?

Because if there was one thing Maddix made very clear, it was now that he had found me, he wasn’t letting me go.

Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Standalone book 2 of Bear Clan series
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

After an injury took Allison away from her passion, her life never felt fulfilled. Needing a break from the grind of the city, she decided on a quiet escape in the mountains. Little did she know what waiting for her would change everything. Maddix was done being patient and he was ready to claim what’s his.

I’d claim her and I’d do it hard, fast, so she knew that there was no escaping. I wouldn’t let her go. I wouldn’t be easy and gentle.

I enjoyed the first book in this series and was looking forward to Maddix’s book because he was supposed to be the wildest/roughest among the brothers. Unfortunately this book didn’t meet my expectations.

“I need to feel your pussy clench around me, milking my cock and drawing the cum from my balls.”

I felt there were too many recycling from book 1. Readers were told over and over (and over) again how the bear shifter’s only goal in life is to find his mate. Then there were the unnecessary long stretch of nothing before the actual claiming happened. And when it actually happened it wasn’t as wild as I was hoping.

“There really is no going back now,” he whispered as he shallowly thrust in and out of me. “Because wherever you are I’ll come for you.

Overall, I was expecting more. I wonder if the same formula is going to be recycled for the rest of the book in the series too. From the end of this book, the next brother might make a different move. I certainly hope the author will inject something fresh in the next book.

My favorite kind of shifter story...

My very favorite kind of shifter story is a shifter who can only be with their mate. Complete and utter devotion to their mate. Growling "mine" as soon as they see them. I was thrilled when that was the case!

-no cheating
-no ow/om drama whatsoever
-zero pushing away
-dual virgins
-no violence of any nature
-an epilogue only a few months out which brought my rating down. There was barely any mention of the couple from book 1 so I don't have much hope that we will see much of Maddix and Allison in the future.

Hard.
Long.
Looking like another limb.
Maddix was the epitome of what the word male meant.

"BEARly Mated to the Grizzly" is the story of Allison and Maddix.

Ha. This third-limb-phallus book has a ex-ballerina heroine who goes to the woods to lick her wounds, but finds her bear-shifter-mate with his dong out instead.

Short insta love romance with no drama and a sweet HEA.

4 fated stars!

Another fun, quick read about an over the top, possessive, alpha male, reclusive, bear shifter waiting for his fated mate to enter his life.

I enjoyed their hilarious "meet cute" of Maddix scaring the bejesus out of Allison by showing up at her back door in bear form.

If you're in the mood for fate taking over and putting two lives together then grab this short story.

Like any novella, this one was too short and I would have loved for it to play out longer, but I enjoyed it fully for what it was. Two young loves who have waited for each other, a alpha male that claims his mate at first sight and their undeniable attraction to each other. I just wish that there was more time between the two with Maddix in his bear form.

"There has never been anyone for me but you, baby. And that's how it'll be until the day I die."

Umm....I honestly can't tell if this was supposed to be smut or not. There's the whole "Mine" possessive shifter thing, but it never really turns into much. The foreplay is honestly really pathetic. Lots of almost touches and talking about eventually claiming for pages and pages and that's about it. Then like three thrusts and the end.

description

It's not long enough to really build any kind of romance, and it's not hot enough to be worthwhile smut, so I just don't get the point.

Whenever I need a quick and hot read, I always look to see if Jenika Snow has anything new out. This is the second book in the series and is Maddix's story. Maddix is a bear shifter and has been patiently waiting to find his mate, but living on the mountain, he doesn't know if he ever will. While on a run through the forrest, he catches the scent of his MATE!!!!! Allison has left the city and rented a cabin in the mountains to figure out what she wants to do with her life. Once a dancer, an ankle injury ended that for her and no matter what, she can't get over that. When she sees a huge bear by the door to the cabin, she's terrified. What follows is a building of their relationship. She knows about shifters and when Maddix tells her that she is his mate, she's weary but intrigued. I loved that the relationship didn't start off with sex but it built up for a week or so. But when that happens, WOW!!! Make sure you have some ice water!!!! This was a quick and easy read and I throughly enjoyed it. Now I want the next brothers book! LOL

This is the second book in the Bear Clan trilogy. I liked the first book so much I went and bought the other two books too. In this book we have Maddix who is feeling like he is about to lose his mind because all he wants is to find his mate. He's a bear shifter who lives close to his brothers but far enough away that they have space.

Allison had been a ballerina but one wrong landing had broken her ankle and ended her career. She ended up being a ballet teacher but it just wasn't the same so one day she packed up and went to get some rest in a cabin she rented out in the mountains.

Maddix was running around the mountains in his bear form when he caught her scent and his human half couldn't stop the bear from seeking her out. She saw him alright and was terrified that the bear was trying to get inside her cabin to attack her. Their first meeting was not ideal but when she finally realizes what he is she does finally calm down. Then of course the attraction takes hold for both of them, they are smokin' hot together. They could hardly keep their hands off each other almost right from the very start.

Humans and shifters coexist peacefully, humans being taught about shifters in school so they know what to expect if they happen to be mated to one. But even though she knows what to expect, it doesn't make it any less confusing or exciting.

This was a quick, sexy novella that kept me fully engaged because I wanted to see them get to know each other and see Maddix find his mate. This trilogy has been great so far and I'm looking forward to the next book.

Yummy Bear Shifters

Allison was a ballerina and depressed that she can no longer dance professionally. She has decided she needs to get some space from the city and to breathe fresh air to relieve her stress. She arrives at a small cabin the the mountains.

Maddix a grouchy grizzly shifter doesn't ever think he will find his mate. He desires to go into the woods and release his best like he does every weekend. While running he catches whiff of his mate. The rest is a HEA!

The dancer and the shifter

This was a great bear shifter sexy story. If you are new to paranormal or want to try one out this is perfect. It was simple and sweet with a sexy alpha set on protecting and pleasing his mate. I can’t wait for more in this series.

This is a good little short one but it seemed a little rushed to me! The sexual tension was drawn out a little to much and repetitive in places but still a good one

Hasta el momento ninguno de los libros que e leído de jenika me ha gustado porque carecen de una trama real.

Son mini relatos erotico para entretener, eso es lo que es este libro.

Another really entertaining short read, these alpha grizzly, growly bears are hot as hell, intimidating and reclusive, but when they eventually find their mate, there could be nothing sweeter than the Bear men. Maddix was supposedly, the most out of control Bear of the brothers, but finding his mate, Allison, tamed the beast. Really enjoying these insta loves, they are the perfect escape, with all the great feels.

Maddix is a bear shifter in search of his fated mate. He’s super ready to lose his VCard. Allison is always alone and an injury has robbed her of a much loved career in ballet. She goes to the woods to "clear her head" and think , where Maddix is at too, clearing his head.
He goes crazy insane because he knows she is his mate while Allison has to figure out what's going on. Their path to true love is a rollercoaster ride and it's intense and beautiful.
This was an awesome addition to the series and I can't wait for book 3 .

Where Maddix is also clearing his head.
He goes bat s and she defends herself.
In this world, shifters are everyday.

Recommend.

A short novella read but felt it was very wash, spin and repeat. Nothing added to the world building or back story, so didn't feel like anything had moved on.

No idea who the other two brothers were, they are mentioned, but no dialogue. There is a set up for third book brother Oli, but it hasn't inspired me to read more of the series.

Sweet epilogue, but sadly not enough to save the story for me.

I’m always overjoyed to discover a new author (new for me) who’s work I like, this story is filled with insta lust and insta mate but I like that the H takes his time and waits for the h to catch up. A lovely romance with plenty of heat.

Another wam, bam, done erotica. It's hard to rate a book that's a little less than 50 pages? Characters were pretty one dimensional and the sex scene was pretty forgettable and vanilla.

This is an OK shifter romance, but it is just too short to have as much character development as I'd like. It is actually just a short story, as it is just over 120 pages. It gets 2.5 stars from me, rounded up to 3 stars.

I mostly liked Allison, but I got annoyed with Maddix and all his dirty talk. Almost everything he said had the word f*** in it, and I found it irritating.

I honestly didn't see why Allison was attracted to Maddix -- especially after his bear terrified her by trying to break into her cabin. But, really, she was human, and wouldn't have felt the mate connection that he did. So I didn't believe she would fall for him that quickly.

I also felt like they were more in lust than in love. I get that he was a shifter, and automatically loved his mate -- but it seemed like the only thing they really felt for each other was uncontrollable lust.

There was one big mistake in this story, and it would have been caught by a good editor. Allison is described as a curvy woman, which usually means she is a BBW. But she was a former ballerina, retired due to injury -- and ballerinas are always tiny and very thin. They stay thin because they work out for so many hours every day. But most of them are just tiny women to begin with -- because taller, larger women don't have the kind of balance that a professional ballerina needs.

I did like that both the H/h were virgins -- it always bothers me when the h is a virgin, but the H is a total womanizer.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

2+ but not rounded up. The series as a whole is pretty repetitive, with some better than others.

Here, our leads are lonely bear Maddix (brother 2 of 6), and his fated mate Allison. Allison is a ballet dancer whose career has just ended due to injury. She has run away to a cabin in the mountains to regroup and reevaluate where her life is going. As she tries to clear her head in the middle of the wilderness, a bear arrives at her door, trying to get in: Maddix. Love and mating bonds at first sight.

There's really not much plot here. Allison, like Bethany in book 1, already knows about shifters and just has to adjust to being a mate to one. And this is where the series becomes kinda noticeably repetitive. Her details - her dance career, moving from the big city, starting her life over - really don't come to mean anything. It's almost like they're used to introduce her, but otherwise the story is almost exactly the same as book 1, right down to the obnoxious method to 'build tension' with nothing actually happening. Even some of the phrasing to describe how much his mate means to him, how badly he wants her, etc - just the same as book 1!

Alternating 1st person POV. No cheating, no love triangles, no OW/OM drama. Very little drama at all, just OTT instalove fated mates. Dual virgin leads (nice change!). While short OTT reads can be nice, light, mindless escapes, this series can tip into predictable, formulaic, and nothing much actually happening. I don't need high drama or high angst, but really, very, very little happened in the individual stories. Still, HEA and epilogues, and while not a cliffhanger, the next brother was introduced.

Would I read more? It's not badly written, but there are short SPN romances (even OTT instalove Fated Mates ones) that have a bit more meat to the plot and stick in the mind a bit more, seem less interchangeable. But hey - free Kindle find, so maybe if there are more Snow books free on Kindle, why not. Like I said, it wasn't bad. It just wasn't a great or unique series, and there are other authors I'd go to first.
