In Winter Thunder and The Christmas of the Phonograph Records Mari Sandoz tells of two very different situations that brought people together in a part of the country where the nearest neighbor may be miles away.

3.5 stars. I read this collection with my son. I mostly selected this book for The Christmas of the Phonograph Records, and it was my favorite of all the selections. A nice variety of winter and snow-related selections in this collection.
