I'm in hiding with a man I don't trust, pitting my wits and guts against my enemies numbers, power, and weapons. Saboraak, my secret weapon is working with limitations and neither of us have any idea how bad it's about to get ...

Amazing! What an amazing tale this will be! Probably even better than Dragon School!
Tor, is such a hero, but also an anti-hero. Tor wants to help many of his friends, Sabarook, Baraak, Zyla and Zin from harm, but he also knows he isn't the right one for the job. He is too careless and thinks only in the moment not what will happen next. And yet, he still will go through many hardships and trials just to make sure his friends are safe.
And the odds are mostly against him in situations like this!
With a possible traitor trying to figure them out, Tor must find out what the Magikas are planning to do with some unexplored magic. It has created things that the Dominions has never heard of seen before
But will it be too much for Tor to handle?
It's really nice seeing Tor in action, he is funny, serious and sarcastic all the time. And his moment with Sabarook is really funny too! Things get pretty intense by the end, so who knows what the next instalment will bring us?
Received a copy from the author herself, for an honest review, thank you!
I finally warmed up to Tor and Saboraak even though I miss the I-am-here-for-you action, it's too often sorry-i-am-busy. But I also loved that we got insight into the magic of Ko'Torenth and the silver swirly eyes! What a cliffhanger! Can't wait for the next episode.
Tor and Zin face some magical horrors in Mist of Power when they discover just how corrupted the people are who want magical power. Zin becomes a more interesting character and I can't wait to read more about her. Saboraak is on her own mission to free the trapped dragons. It's tough with the team split up, but Tor does his best. Will his best be enough? This is another fast paced Dragon Chameleon episode with a cliffhanger!
I received an eARC of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.
And... things just got real. We're only 4 episodes in, and I've been on the edge of my seat this entire book. It was exciting, thrilling and I kept thinking that it was so early in the story that all would be well. That didn't completely work out as I thought it would ;). We're making a nice step into the mystery of what is going on with the magic in this world and what people will do to keep their magical power, as gruesome as it is. Now on to the next book to find out how it continues!
I jumped right into third after DC3 Tor is beginning more and more of a good guy and his values are changing before your eyes. Of course this ended in a short cliffhanger but that's par for the course with series like this. I'm waiting with Baird breath for the next one but I know that will just get me itching for more and more
After i have read all the books of "Dragon School" i continued to read the next series from Sarah K. L. Wilson. I just had to go on. They are that good. Love them all. The ending was a cliff hanger this time, so i hardly can wait or the next book.
Dragon Chameleon: Mist of Power by Sarah K.L. Wilson is an action packed edge of your seat addition to this series. The story picks up where the last left off and things are nothing but intense all the way through. They’ve managed to find the place that they were seeking, but the girls are still in danger and with the man who betrayed them. Tor is questioning being a spy, because let’s be real…he wasn’t planning on dealing with all this danger! Secrets abound all around him, but he is learning a few things. It won’t be long before he learns some truly dark horrors that will haunt his dreams for nights to come. Dragon Chameleon is a fascinating story that had me on the edge of my seat and page turning to the end. I couldn’t get enough of this book. While Tor has his annoying moments he and Saboraak are absolutely my favorites. Bataar does get on my nerves because of his arrogance and sense of entitlement. There are moments of where I honestly want him to pick a lane. LOL! Do you WANT the things you say you are “entitled” to or are you going to run away because you don’t want the responsibilities and dangers that come with it? I like the diversity of the characters, and often have to remind myself that they are young adults and still not totally stable in their thinking. Makes me glad that Saboraak is there to help…”balance” them out. LOL! The author totally shocks me more than once with this book and one shock just about breaks my heart, but I couldn’t put the book down. If you have enjoyed this series so far then you HAVE to read this book! You will not be disappointed! I almost guarantee you that! It sets the stage perfectly for the anticipation for the next book to be sky-high. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I couldn’t get enough, and I’m eager for more!
SETTING: Bataar and Tor escaped by the skin of Saboraak’s teeth, which held onto Tor’s ankle! Using the prophecy as a guide, Tor and Saboraak found the hidden entrance to a well provisioned cave set up by Hubric. They ate and rested before returning to the city. Now they needed to rescue not only Zin & Zyla, but the Dragon Riders and the dragons! Tor finds he has inadvertently broken every rule Hubric had set out in this most recent missive! How will such infractions impact Tor and the Dominion’s interests? More prophecies come to light, indicating the struggle has barely begun and that war may well break out. Tor must use his mind and his might time and again to climb walls, battle mechanical demons, and rescue Zin, who is finally overcome by the violence, having collapsed into a sobbing mess. How will Tor get them out of the horrible situation? Has he finally found someone who cares a bit for him? CRITIQUE: In this episode, Tor is maturing into a man, taking responsibility for the well-being of others, including Bataar, for whom he still has reservations. We learn a bit more about Bataar and his people, as the story fills out. The relationship between man-Dragon is also solidifying, with each coming to trust, respect and depend on the other. Tor has put aside his pickpocketing-way of life as he has begun developing into the man he is meant to be from his heart. He does not have an inflated view of himself, but still is humble and sees clearly his own faults. Clearly, there is much potential in this young man, and I, for one, eagerly await the further episodes to see how this potential is developed! Outstanding fantasy, reader’s of all ages will enjoy.
Holy cow!!! Now things here really have picked up!! Things were not slow in the first three books at all and a lot also occured, but here. Oh man, here things have gotten as intense as in the first series and I am loving it. We finally get an explanation to what the silver swirls Tor saw in some people were - they are due to the magic the villains have obtained from killing dragon riders and using their souls to keep using magic. I don't know what I was expecting, but it sure wasn't THAT. And now these same villains are planning on joining up with Magikas in hopes of stabalizing that magic. Not good at all.
My main question is Zin. What powers does she hold and how was is that she survived those rods filled with the magic of the dragon rider's souls hitting her square in the chest??
Meanwhile, looks like Baltar has started a political war claiming himself rightful ryler or something. Oh man. Another war here we come. Regardless, it was clearly inevitable anyway. Makes me wonder if we will see Amel and Roalcan in action again. Would be neat.
As for Zyla. I just wanted to mention that I am not too fond of her character. I find her tsundere traits to be annoying and definitely not liking that Tor x Zyla thing going on. Hopefully, I like her character better as the story progresses. Just not really a fan of tsunderes, especially when they make female characters one.
Still, things have truly picked up. I really like it. Can't wait to read the next book and see what happens!

Can Tor trust Bataar, or not? At least the boy can eat in this episode ;) but he’s still cold… Tor has a spy mission. He keeps insisting he’s no hero, but he does some pretty heroic things! Saboraak has her own quest this time. Tor doesn’t agree but what can he do? A girl dragon with a mind of her own!
There were some moments of horror. Those people with the silver swirls in their eyes - they freak Tor out, and they freak me out! It was crazy suspenseful, crazy full stop. It was everything I could possibly want in a YA fantasy. The way Tor and Saboraak communicate is so full of dry humor! Saboraak is learning sarcasm! So funny. Amazing amazing amazing!
Favorite quotes: “I could handle spying just fine without having my hand held all the time.” “Skies and Stars preserve me from heroes! And from dragons with their own agendas.” “I tried to breathe, forgetting in my haste whether it was in or out and then gasping from choosing the wrong one.” LOL! “One thing was certain. I would never understand girls. … Or dragons.”
Tor, Bataar and Saboraak barely escaped and are now hunting for a safe hiding place, foretold by the note. Turns out it was stocked and prepared by Hubric as a staging place for Tor to help with his task of being a spy. Unfortunately, the warnings given by Hubric of "what not to do" have already been broken by Tor. Bataar knows Tor's job, and he is planning on helping Tor find out what is going on. But, can Tor actually trust Bataar? Their plans are soon blown up forcing them to flee for their lives, with the help of one of the sisters Tor helped escape. Or did she help them...
Book 4 in the Dragon Chameleon is ramping up the excitement and the treachery. I can't wait for the next installment!! I received and ARC of the book from the author. I enjoyed it and wanted to leave this review.
A great addition to the series. Tor, Saboraak and Bataar are trying to rescue Zyla and her twin sister Zin, from Apeq, a man who Tor didn't trust. After figuring out a riddle, Tor finds a safe hideaway left there by Hubric. It contained food, clothing and all manner of supplies. Everywhere they go they see people with silver swirls in their eyes. It seems to indicate power, but as power is dwindling in this land, they had no idea of the source. They go spying and eventually find the big secret of where the power is coming from. If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he would not have believed it. He needed to stop it and then escape, taking both girls with him.
I like the fact that Tor is finally seeing that he has value. He still thinks too much (kind of like talking too much, but only Saboraak can 'hear' him--and the reader, of course!). He also does some pretty heroic things and has gained the confidence to take charge, to a small degree. This book moved Tor's story along nicely, and I highly recommend it.
This series just gets more interesting the more you read. Tor finds himself more the hero each book. Saboraak is a fun Dragon to get to know. She is quite different from Raolcan but that is expect as people are all different too. Evil is around every corner. Who can Tor trust?
*I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.*
Our group is a bit fragmented right now, but they are all working toward a common goal, at least it seems that way for now. Tor and Saboraak are still getting to know one another and Tor swears he is no hero. I love these characters and how the story is moving along so far. I can't wait for the next one.
Tor and Saboraak are back in an even more intense adventure. Everyone is on a separate quest and things are starting to get really scary. Swirling silver eyes seem to be everywhere. It's fast paced and leaves you saying: What just happened? Can't wait to read the next book in the series. Fantastic series!!!
This is the fourth book in the Dragon Chameleon series and we witness Tor and Zin face magical horrors as hey discover just how corrupt people can be when they want power. I enjoy how Tor knows that he is not perfect and that he thinks on his feet instead of being a know it all. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Tor is not a hero or he does Day so... well things are changing A lot. More Trouble and events are ahead. Nothing has been decided just yet. Im starting to like our New duo as they are starting to play in somewhat one rythm. Lets are what New book will bring for them with that clugfhanher.
With every episode you bond even more with Tor and Saboraak. The adventures continue and the adrenaline continues to build. Will we ever get to release it. Maybe. But enjoying the journey so much. Brilliant story.
OMG!!! The author has me completely at their mercy, desperately needing to know what happens next. Who to trust, who is friend, who is foe? This author has the magic to enrapture the reader, immersing them into the story
I really enjoyed reading this book. I adore these shorter read novellas...they are packed with adventure and thrilling moments right up to the last page (and usually leave you guessing, even then). I can't wait for the next book in this series!
The story continues to get more involved. Thor continues to be thick headed with moments of brilliance. He still has not learned to appreciate his dragon. Really dislike the “short” stories.
I was totally caught off guard by this entire direction this story is going, I have no idea what direction this is heading, it has kept me going at a fast pace, can't wait to see where this is going!
Sarah writes a wonderful fantasy with dragons and gives her characters so much development, they feel like real people. Love the main character is the thief they caught and ended up helping them in the end. Love how he has to fight and wins in the end.
Book four in the series which is getting myself seriously interested now to see what happens next. They are always finding new things along the journey. Roll on book five. Highly recommended.
