After a lifetime of living on the fringes, always on the lookout for danger, he's ready to hang up his rifle and finally relax. And if someone else is willing to find him a bride, he's all for it. He's always been more at home behind enemy lines than talking to women. He can't wait to meet his wife to be. But it's not his turn yet.

Samantha Smith is willing to do anything to escape her long time job driving the tour bus for the band her parents and sister play for. She's ready for marriage, a settled home — and motherhood. And she wants them all right now. She knows she could be happy at Base Camp, so when an episode of the reality television series ends with a call for a backup bride for one of the participants, Sam applies for the position — no questions asked. She's ready for whatever adventure awaits her. So when Harris picks her up at the airport instead of Curtis Lloyd, the man she was told she was meant to marry, Sam assumes Harris is Curtis' replacement — and if she's honest she's relieved. The quiet, sexy sniper always caught her eye when he appeared on the show, and in person he's everything Sam's ever wished for in a husband.

Harris has to make a choice, fast. Correct the mistake Sam's made about why he's picking her up at the airport — or elope with Curtis' bride. What's a Navy SEAL to do?

The first in the series not to focus on the founding members of Base Camp or the Jane Austen Regency women. Instead we have a love triangle with Harris, Samantha, and Curtis. It is the day after Clay and Nora's wedding. Curtis is really hungover and asks Harris to pick up the "secret" bride. Harris is a bit offended at the way Curtis carries on about this woman he never met and how she's probably ugly. Ugh! It made me definitely not like the guy. So, when the lovely Samantha meets Harris at the airport, he proposes marriage and their impulsive decisions are going to have a lot of reaction back at camp!

Less chapters than the first two books in the series, I grew to really love the Harris/Samantha pairing and their amazing chemistry. Curtis had some glimmers of empathy in the latter chapters, but I don't think the author really was ever invested in exploring Samantha and Curtis. So, as a love triangle, it fizzled a bit.

A SEAL's Pledge also deepened the discussion about the patriarchal system at BASE Camp and the need for Samantha to discuss her need to work beside Harris. Harris himself, is a shy Navy SEAL, trained as a sniper, that has a hard time with the ladies. If this was a series, I could totally see Channing Tatum in that role. Personally, I don't like that actor, but he would play Harris very well.

All in all, readers will be delighted to catch up with all the other characters. Riley and Boone are beginning to worry about fertility issues, Avery is still consumed with her appearance and whether Walker will actually talk to her. But most importantly, the book I have been WAITING for about Jericho and Savannah is next!!!

This series delivers on what I want in a Romance: interesting characters, interesting plot and hot romance. It is definitely a formula structure, but each book is different and unique and really enjoyable. Just what I want for escape entertainment, with a touch of something a little deeper. The premise of the series is a group of former Navy SEALs are developing an eco friendly community which is being bankrolled by a reality TV show. Each man must agree to be filmed and get married on the show.

Harris "Hawk" Wentworth is a former Navy SEAL sniper. He is a loner by nature and a protector because of his childhood. He is not good with women, but wants a wife and family of his own. When the "back-up" bride isn't needed, Harris decides he doesn't want to wait to draw the short straw and plans to hijack her for his own.

Samantha Smith has been driving the bus, literally and physically, for her family rock band forever. She is tired of the road and wants nothing more than her own home and family. When she sees the ad wanting a "back-up bride", she applies and is on her way to Base Camp. She is more than pleased that it is Harris who shows up to fetch her from the airport, as he has caught her eye on the show.

Harris takes one look at Sam and knows he is going to throw caution to the wind and marry Sam as soon as humanly possible. Their elopement and breaking the rules throws Base Camp into a frenzy. Curtis is fit to be ties that Harris stole his bride, one he didn't even appear to want, and the show's production team is livid, demanding the marriage be annulled and that Curtis marry Sam. Like that is soooo going to happen. The TV producers decree that there will be a 40 day courtship in which Harris and Curtis compete for the affections of the fair Sam. When Sam's wacko family show up with a few thousand of their friends, all bets are off.

Initial reactions: The writing really pulled me in as I entered this interesting world of Seals and reality television. The general storyline overall I really liked, but the romance so lacking for me. There were quite a few things that bothered me about.

Review:

Major Plot spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk

ONCE AGAIN MAJOR PLOT SPOILERS AHEAD, THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING

As stated above, I did enjoy the concept of this story. It just sounded interesting that a bunch of these Seals were on a reality tv show in order to find a wife as well as create a sustainable community. It was interesting to see the dynamic, and all the rules that were setup for said reality tv show. It was a little weird with the woman in period clothes while doing chores that required not being done on the grid, however that was also what made it different from other romance set in a reality tv background. That was very intriguing to see play out as they went on their day to day life. That part of the story really sucked me in as did the side characters. It did make me intrigued about the rest of the books in this series.

Another thing that drew me into the story was the synopsis that set up the romance between Harris and Sam. I thought it was interesting that she was intended for another, who didn’t want her so they sent Harris to pick her up from the airport since her intended Curtis had no plans to. So, i thought that conflict would be that while participating in this reality show that Harris and Sam would fall each other gradually even though she was supposed to be for Curtis. However, it didn’t play out that way I thought it was, and it was disappointing and made me not care for it especially due to it having my two least favorite tropes in romance.

First all I could accept that Sam and Harris had an instant connection to one another as soon as they met. That there was some type of spark or something there, but they wouldn’t do anything about it because she was suppose be Curtis’s wife, hence where they conflict would come from, however what came to be was the love at first sight trope. I hate that trope so much because there’s no development at all, the don’t know the person, and it’s all just based on the physical and nothing more. In the case of Sam and Harris, they moved way too quickly because they believed they were in love with each other even though it didn’t make a lick of sense aside from the physical attraction they had for one another. That’s not love or building up a love story to me. With Sam and Harris, they immediately get married because they believed that Curtis didn’t want Sam as his wife. However Harris knew the contractual rules of the reality tv show that he along with Curtis were participating in so he knew that his marriage to Sam was going to provide a problem yet he didn’t it anyway because he was just so besotted with her because of this love at first sight. To make matter worse, though they didn’t go all the way they did become intimate with one another only hours after meeting because of this love at first sight thing. It was like no. It was way too quick without a lot of development or buildup to the moment. It was like they met, got married and had their little tryst. It didn’t set the most favorable tone for the romance after that.

If that wasn’t bad enough, it had my other least favorite trope, which was the love triangle and the whole “competing” for the girl trope. I just stand that because it is more about winning the girls as a prize because the two men are pitted against each other in order to “win” her affections. A lot of times it’s not about the person and getting know them and fall in love with them, it’s just about winning. With the whole love triangle thing, it is like who is going to choose and blah blah blah, instead of focusing on the love interest and have the focus just be on the two of them and having a romance. That was exactly what happened in this case. It was really a turn off especially how Curtis acted with his manipulation and his pouting baby behavior as he tried to undermine Harris at every turn, which made the men come to blows. It happened multiple times. I hated what Curtis was doing the entire time even though he was the one in the beginning that claimed he didn’t want Sam in the first place. It was such a bulk of the story that it took away from what was supposed be the romance between Harris and Sam. It didn’t go lever well in my book. I hated seeing this played out on the pages.

Another thing that I hated was Harris’s reactions to a couple things throughout the story. He knew that they were on a reality tv show. He knew that the producer edited footage together to make a story for the show in order to make it juicy for ratings even if that wasn’t what truly happened. Harris knew that the producer had manipulated things in the past. So, why the heck when they viewed one of the episodes that made it look like Curtis and Sam were having a romance did it not go through his mind that the episodes was edited to make it look that way and not really what happened. Why didn’t question that? Why didn’t he talk to Samatha before stamping off in huff and having big old temper tantrum over it? He didn’t even have one conversation with her? In fact he gave his blessing for Curtis and Sam to be together even though Sam told him repeated that she wanted Harris not Curtis? Why was it so easy for his faith to break in Samantha when he claimed he was in love with her? Doesn’t that say something about him? Yeah, his insecurity and his lack of trust her, but it was more than that it was just that any time adversity came their way he was just very quick to give up on them? To me that just downplayed his feelings for her. He didn’t bother to fight for her. In fact he left her alone when she needed him the most once her family came onto the scene. He knew the issues she had with her family after having opened up to him about it, but he still abandoned her due to his anger and hurt pride. She needed him, and he just wasn’t there for her. What did that say for their state of their relationship? Nothing good. It just it sunk romance even further.

Before things blew up between them, they were fully intimate with one another even though they both agreed for the show not to be physically involved with one another until Sam had to choose a bride in 30 days. They both knew it was going to be trouble especially if they got caught yet they did it anyway. It disappointed me even further that they couldn’t even wait that long. Why couldn’t they spend time together and be emotional intimate first rather go straight to the physical? There was really no emotional intimacy between them at all at least none of it was shown on the page. When they snuck away to have their tryst it made me roll my eyes. I wish it didn’t happen. It just felt weird and wrong on so many levels. Then the blow happened then it felt doubly wrong.

Harris didn’t apologize to Sam for what he did after the blow up. He practically was forgiven as soon as he saved her from the fire. There were no explanations. He was very harsh. He very much disregarded what they had so quickly even though he claimed to love her. I get it was out of hurt and pain but some of the things he said were just over the top. I didn’t like that she didn’t demand that he talk to her before running off like a hurt child every time they had a problem or misunderstanding. I just thought he had a lot o making up to do. I think he could have groveled more than he did because how he acted just wasn’t right. I didn’t think that Sam should have tolerated that from him.

Overall, the romance was just not for me. I had problems with it. I didn’t think they had a love match. I think they could have worked out more of their relationship before they committed to one another. He did things that I didn’t agree with and really didn’t make up for them at any point in my opinion. He came off as rather babyish especially when he didn’t get his way. He did’t trust her at all even though he claimed he loved her but there could be no love without trust. I hated whole love triangle thing because it truly felt like a game to the men. It was one they just wanted to win. It wasn’t to win her heart, but her as a prize. That was not attractive at all. I wasn’t fan of Harris. I hated Curtis and all the crap that he pulled throughout the story. Sam was okay for me, but I think she could have stood up for herself more with Harris after he treated her not so nicely sometimes. Honestly the characters that I liked the most were the side characters. i was more interested in their stories and their romance than I was for Harris and Samantha’s. They just were more intriguing and engaging. They definitely kept the story interesting for me. I was engaged with them so much. It makes interested in the rest of the series because of them. I want to see their love stories played out. Plus I just want to see more of how this unique concept plays out further on in the series. Hopefully those romances will be better than Harris and Sam’s was because that just didn’t do it for me.

I loved this book, think it may be my favorite but the problem is i say that about each of these books in the series.
So this is book 3, Nora and Clay have got married and they now have a surplus 'back-up bride' who is now going to marry Curtis. Only Curtis has his own issues and gets drunk at the party so is not ready to collect poor Samantha from the airport... Enter Harris, he goes to collect her and oh oh they fall for each other.
I loved Harris , he is 'Hawk' the ex-sniper, all tough bad-ass ex marine but he is oh so vulnerable, desperate to settle down and have his own family but is hopeless with women. I like the strong silent type so i totally was rooting for him and Samantha.
Samantha has her own family issues, she is in an awkward position at base camp as the bride of Clay/Curtis then Harris , not the best of starts.
I loved the way Cora Seton dealt with the varying relationships, the group of women not all showing their best side, the men behaving like children and the emotional issues Samantha, Curtis and Harris had, it was sensitively done.
Although i am not left with a very good impression of Curtis, manipulative bully comes to mind, in this book but he's not up next so maybe he will redeem himself a bit over the series.
It's Jericho and possible Savannah next, but there is something up with Savannah so we will have to see.
You also see how the couples we already know and love are getting on, which i love.
No cheating, happy reading, HEA.

The situation, the eco homes, ex military, tv show, Jane Austen, commitment to marry when you draw the short straw is somewhat bizarre.
I think if it was just the ex military eco home, tv show, commitment to marry when you draw the short straw I would be fine with it, the Jane Austen thing I find a bit wierd, but it means the women are tied there too so I just go with it.

When I first started reading this series, I wasn't 100% behind the concept. The SEALS of Chance Creek is about a group Navy SEALS trying to build a sustainable community while being filmed for a reality TV series. They are also sharing the space with a group of women living a Recency Jane Austin lifestyle . However, the more books I read in this series I find it different and highly entertaining.

A SEALS Pleadge is the third book in the series and focuses on Harris and Samantha. Samantha was longing for a more stable lifestyle and leaves her life as she knows it. Unfortunately for her, she jumped from the flames intro the fire when she decided to join Base Camp. Harris wastes no time making Samantha his. Regardless if his actions were wrong, he's a man that has been taught from an early age, that he's the protector.

Each character is unique and offers new skills to the community and Base Camp. I liked reading how the characters discover who they are when they are separated from their normal environment.

The stories also contain enough drama and suspense to keep the reader interested in the story. The author does a good job reconnecting the reader with the past characters and brining new characters and couples into the mix.

Looking forward continuing this series to see how Base Camp is going to survive.

I received an ARC for a honest review

This book is the first one in the series that is not about the original characters. This time is the turn of Samantha, the girl who was supposed to be Clay's backup bride in case he couldn't convince Nora, and Harris, one of the guys who arrived at Base Camp to participate in Boone's plan to make a sustainable community. The problem is that after Clay married Nora, Sam was supposed to marry Curtis, but Harris and Sam fell in love at first sight, and things get complicated, especially because the reality show's director is determined to make their lives miserable in the name of ratings. I still think that they take too many liberties with the rules, there should be a contract or something to define what they need, should do, and not depend on the whims of the guys in charge of the reality show.

This book was more interesting because we have new characters and we move away from the original players of the story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️BOOK REVIEW⭐️⭐️⭐️

A Seal’s Pledge by Cora Seton takes place in Chance Creek, Montana at a community called Base Camp. A group of former Navy SEALs have come together to start a sustainable community where they build all the houses, grow all the food, and go back to the old way of living.

The catch is that the billionaire that owns the land and is financing the project wants publicity and has the project become a reality show. Oh yeah, and all the guys must get married to women (who all dress in period clothing) they just met and have babies within a year. What could go wrong?

Samantha Smith is 27, single, and the daughter of hippie rock stars and still lives on their tour bus. She has no musical talent and is forced to drive the bus all over the country. One night, her family turns on a show called Base Camp where she sees hunky Navy SEALS in their planned community with the women in their Regency clothing. It looks like it’s straight out of an Austin novel and she’s intrigued.

Sam applies for the show, packs her bags and leaves the bus (without her family’s knowledge) and heads to Montana where she’s met at the airport by Harris, one of the SEALs. Harris is not who she was picked to marry on the show but she falls for him instantly. The run off and elope before heading back to the Camp, where the producer learns what they’ve done and is insanely irate.

She’s forced to act like they’re not married and court both Harris and another SEAL named Curtis for whom she was intended.

Will Curtis steal her heart away or will she fall harder for Harris? She’s given 30 days to make her decision on camera. As shes followed around by a camera crew, learns to work in Regency period clothing, and dates two guys competing for her heart, Sam is in over head.

Who will win her heart? And will it be a matter of life or death?

This book by Cora Seton (who always writes fabulous books) was a sexy, steamy page turner with chaos, love and self discovery. I loved the idea of the self sustainable community and watching the characters grow and fall for each other. Absolutely recommend.

Samantha is tired, she drives the bus and keeps the family on schedule for their tours but she wants something for her. When she sees the Base Camp add for a backup bride, she jumps at the chance. A backup bride for Curtis would be a great way to have everything she wants. Marriage, children and a home that doesn't move.

When Harris wakes up the morning after Clay and Nora's wedding the entire camp is sleeping. He knows Curtis' backup bride is arriving today so he takes it upon himself to pick her up at the airport. He didn't expect to fall hard and fast for her but he did, and he wasn't taking any chances.

Samantha doesn't realize that Harris isn't a backup for Curtis so she goes along with everything. Getting a marriage license, the wedding in a small chapel a town away from Chance Creek and a celebration picnic with an awesome view.

Then they returned to Base Camp and everything hits the fan! From Renata to Curtis, no one is happy about this turn of events.

The decision from the top, doesn't make anything better. Fulsom is going to have the marriage annulled and Samantha has to date both men and give her decision in thirty days. Oh and no hanky-panky.

Of course none of this is going to be pleasant, least of all when Samantha's parents, sister and the crew show up with protesters.

From the initial defiance of the rules, to the controversy, to some hold your breath scenes this book is filled with tension, jealousy, romance, family drama and so much more.

It is definitely one of my favorites in this series.

I'm not really sure what I read here, it's a bit of a weird one. A group of ex-navy seals are living together in a commune and taking part in a reality show. As part of this show, the men are supposed to marry and three of the resulting couples should fall pregnant within a year. The women in question dress in regency dresses (why I have no idea). There's also a b and b at the 'manor house' that they have, no idea what that was about. All of this is in the name of saving the environment and from there the world. I'm not sure how they are achieving this, they're living sustainably or trying to, I don't know, the whole thing was very odd.
In this story, Samantha has come to join the community and marry one of the men. She is supposed to marry someone else, but when Harris collects her from the airport they feel an immediate spark and decide to get married. Once they return to the community the man she was supposed to marry isn't happy and then Sam must choose between the two men.
The romance element was ok, although I did feel that Samantha was all over the place and a little irritating at times. She seemed unable to stick to a commitment and didn't seem to know what she wanted.
I'm sure that there are people who will love this, but for me, it was just really quite bizarre. Almost like a strange dream that the author had after too much cheese and thought she'd share.

This is the third book in the series about a group of ex-SEALs who are building Base Camp which is a sustainable community. A group of women are living on the same property. These women are living a regency lifestyle. Building this community is being filmed for a reality TV series and is being funded by an eccentric billionaire who has made several demands on the groups in order for them to keep the funding. The men must be married within a year with three of the women becoming pregnant.

This story is about Harris who has always been a protector and Samantha who was looking for a stable life since she has always traveled with her parent's musical group around the country and never had roots. When Harris picked Samantha up at the airport, he fell for her immediately and they married right away. He knew this would cause problems at Base Camp because she was suppose to marry another man there. It's also against the show rules to marry without being filmed.

I wasn't really enthusiastic about the idea of this series with the sustainable community and the women living like they were in Jane Austin's regency time but the more I read about it the more I liked it. I love military men in stories so the ex-SEALs hooked me right away. The regency lifestyle for the women still seems odd to me but I like the way the couples get together. I just knew the s**t would hit the fan when Curtis found out that Harris married the bride intended for him and couldn't wait to see how that worked out. That led to a very creative twist in this story.

I liked the well developed characters in A SEAL's Pledge. I admired Samantha for leaving the life she had for one she knew almost nothing about and agreeing to marry a man she'd never met. It was nice to see her strength of character once she was away from her family. I liked Harris' protectiveness for everyone but felt sorry for him because he so badly wanted to belong to something/somebody. He was a hard person to know because he didn't talk much but kept to himself.

Please note that even though I received a complementary copy of A SEAL's Pledge I am voluntarily reviewing it as I do with all the books I read.

I've read the entire series. I liked this book more than the others I've read so far. The Series has started to focus less on the TV reality program and more on the actual stories. This way you get to know more about the hero and heroine rather than a TV show.

The hero and heroine both want to be here but don't know exactly where they fit in. The story starts off with a woman who hates her life and needs to do something drastic, so she puts her name in for the TV show. She's to be a back up bride for the hero in our last book. However, the night before at the wedding the man she's been paired with after back up bride match fails, has too much to drink. Everyone sleeps in the next morning except our hero who wakes up remember the substitute bride was arriving early. Because of this he's off to get her and tell her what's happened.

However, once thy see each other they only want each other. However because of the TV show they make the 3 of them date to get a story line going which brings some arguing. Among all of this the heroine's non traditional family arrives and brings more drama to the mix.

The hero and heroine are both likable and common, so this made the story fun, serious, and kept you reading.

Harris 'Hawk' Wentworth has made A SEAL's Pledge to be part of a sustainable community with ten fellow ex-SEALs and has come to Montana to be part of Base Camp outside Chance Creek, Montana. He is was a sniper for the SEALs and has a unique ability to be alone, find a target and wait for the perfect time and now he is a civilian he has trouble joining groups and talking , especially to women. The most appealing part of Base Camp is the part where he will get his turn to marry and start a family.

Samantha Smith is picked as a back-up bride for another SEAL and switched to another SEAL that drew the short stick. Harris goes to the airport to pick up Samantha and knows this is the woman for him. What follows is two of the SEALs fighting over Samantha, interference by the reality TV crew at every turn, a protest, a riot, a fire, a rescue and the best man wins his wife in another Regency Wedding on the lawn of Westfield Manner.

My favorite of the first three books in this series. I love how Harris steps up and takes matters into his own hands. Samantha (Sam) is a true gem, stepping out independently from her domineering family for the first time. The romantic chemistry, push/pull and misunderstandings between Harris and Sam kept me turning pages until the early hours of the morning. Although Curtis is said to be outgoing and liked by everyone, I found him to be an overbearing jerk, which makes for a more satisfying HEA.

The best part about the book? I never knew what turn the story would take, but each was unexpected while remaining plausible.

One thing I noticed about this series... Although the sex scenes are somewhat explicit, there are certain words the author does not use, which I appreciated. We still get the heat, just a bit classier.

The small supernatural? speculative? parts thrown in add some luscious mystery to a well-rounded story.

I think this one is my favorite one from this series so far. I love that Harris is the quiet one, a former sniper with the Navy SEALS, he is used to lying in wait for the perfect shot. Though when Curtis bemoans having to marry Harris decides to step in and pick up the backup bride.

Harris can't tell her though, he doesn't want to hurt her, and he finds himself attracted to her. When he decides to steal Sam for himself he finds that Curtis now wants her for himself. Sam is so sick of driving her families tour bus that she decided to marry someone from Base Camp in order to live in a stable home, without wheels.

The cat and mouse between Curtis and Harris was a little much at times but I loved Harris. He is someone who is so used to protecting people and not feeling loved by anyone that him finding it was so sweet. Him not feeling lovable just about broke my heart.

Harris and Samantha meet through a twist of fate. She’s a backup bride, first for Clay, then for Curtis, but by the time she arrives, those two don’t need her. Harris picks her up at the airport, sees her, and takes her off to marry.

She’s immediately enamoured with him, and it’s lovely. Until they return to Base Camp, and it all falls apart. Curtis wants a chance to get to know her, the reality show doesn’t allow them to get away with being married, and a plot is cooked up for the guys to compete for her.

Sam doesn’t like this at all, but endures, and goes through her own doubts, though her feelings are strong. Her family complicates things further, showing up and creating a protest.

I like Samantha’s unusual background, and Harris’ as well, so it’s important he learns he can’t save everyone, though he tried when he was a sniper.

This was a great story in the series.

A SEAL’s Pledge: SEALS of Chance Creek Book 3 is by Cora Seton. This book is just as exciting as the others. She really keeps your attention on the book.
When it had looked like Nora would not agree to marry Clay, Boone located a replacement bride. She was on her way to Chance Creek when Nora and Clay reconciled. One In A Million !!!

Harris "Hawk" Wentworth, an ex-Navy SEAL snipper was a part of a sustainable community he and his friends were trying to build. He thought he would never find love that was until he laid eyes on the woman that was supposed to be his friend's Clay's bride (if Nora didn't agree to marry him) from A SEAL'S VOW .

Samantha Smith was looking for an adventure, she needes to leave her family nest and do something for herself. When she saw the Base Camp reality show on tv, she was captivated by what they were doing and there was one SEAL who caught her attention.

It was none other than Harris Wentworth, when she saw an opportunity to do something bold, she decided to take a leap a faith and signed up to be the backup bride to marry Clay. She got word that Clay and Nora finally married and that she would be marrying Curtis Llyod.

She wasn't aware that the man didn't want to marry her until she reached in Chance Creek, Montana. When she found out it was a shock, it make her feel insecure.

Hawk couldn't bear the thought of Sam fallin in love with someone else, he was prepared to leave Base Camp. What he didn't expected was to find himself making a life changing decision.

A decision that took Sam by surprise as well as Hawk, he decided there and then that Sam was going to marry him. To say that Sam was relieved would be an understatement.

Both Harris and Sam were deprived of so many things when they were growing up, now they wanted them and together they were going to make sure they had all their hearts desires.

They got married, yup Harris broke all the rules and the show didn't filmed it. When everyone back at Base Camp found out well let's just say that all hell broke loose. Come what may, Sam was going to fight for her love.

She lost her heart to Harris a long time ago and when they found themselves in a tight spot, the man she loved was doubting her. Yet she never gave up on them, as she faced off with her famous parents, Harris along with everyone at Base Camp were there for Sam.

He finally understood what loving someone unconditionally meant. It was great to catch up with previous characters and meet new ones. Love the bond between the Women of Westfield, the men of Base Camp have a strong bond also.

A SEAL'S PLEDGE , the third installment in Cora Seton's SEALS OF CHANCE CREEK series was exquisitely endearing. Mrs Seton did an amazing job...Two thumbs up.

Can't wait for Jericho's book, A SEAL'S CONSENT next! ;)

Meant to be!

Harris is always on the perimeter watching 👀out for his family and friends. When he gets a chance to grab something that has caught him by surprise, he takes it. Samantha is trying to escape from her family members who she has been traveling with her entire life. They face challenges to their new love 💘 from another Seal in the camp and Sam's family. However, when danger threatens, the Seals come together to save the camp and Sam's life. Loved the characters and the story in this book. I have read almost every series and enjoy seeing couples from other books 📚. Ms. Seton is very talented and expressive in her writing.

I loved this book and this series. It's about Navy Seals that pledge to live in a sustainable community for one year. With ten Seal's living there and one of them marrying every forty days for one year. This book is about Harris and Sam.

Harris goes to pick up Curtis's backup bride when he has no one. But when Harris picks up Sam he falls in love at first sight. He knows Curtis wasn't all that in love with the idea of marrying a stranger but Harris doesn't have that problem.

After Harris and Sam marry Curtis decides he should have a chance to marry Sam and the shows millionaire producer agrees. So the race is on as to who will end up with Samantha.

Quick read. A marriage of convenience story, this one arranged for a reality TV show about homesteaders trying to live in an ecologically sound way. The heroine grew up on the road with her cover band family and has been driving the bus the last few years, and she's sick of it. The hero rescued his family twice from bad storms, and now he's out of the military, but not sure how to connect with the normal world again. And after they marry, the TV show insists they pretend that they're not to goose the conflict. I liked it, though it did a lot of floating on the surface. Good story.

Another Win for Base Camp

With each book comes a greater depth of feeling a part of Base Camp, of the lives of the people who have a dream and a goal. As each person is revealed, the reader becomes more a part of the story, the day to day lives of these very real people. Each brings an experience, an emotion everyone can relate to - this makes you cheer on their accomplishments and cry when they hurt. Harris and Samatha become real with their doubts, desires, each searching for that "happy ever after". Loved it!!

Noah Michael Levine’s narration continues to be an enjoyable part of this series. The plot of this 3rd book was even more seriously contrived than the first two—I sped up the reading rate when I was sorely tempted to quit reading it. After the first two, I decided I wanted to read how things went for Jericho and Walker and then read nothing more of this series. What dismay to find out Jericho’s story was the 4th book and with 8 or 9 books now in the series, Walker’s story is no where in sight. So I’ll read about Jericho and just keep checking for Walker. Don’t think I can stomach the rest.

Great story!

Harris had a lonely life when it came to family. He joined the navy seals and loved his friends but was a quiet man, he stayed in the background. He went to the airport to pick up Samantha, a bride intended for Curtis. Once he saw her , he knew that he needed her. So that night he brought her to a place to for a quick marriage. They spent the evening together. Once back at base camp things got riled up, like really riled. You need to read this story for all of the twists and turns it takes. You’ll love it!

audiobook (Audible) - love this story of love, at first sight, turning into immediate marriage. The teams have to navigate this unexpected sequence of events so that the show can continue to film the marriages for the overall basecamp project. The author does a great job of showcasing the negative and/or diminutive thought process for singular thinking towards larger complex issues as well as the family's selfishness in desiring members/child to support their goal and give up any desires, wants, or dreams for their individual lives apart from the family.

I have submitted this review after listening to the audio book of this title from within the series set box. (Audible)

It wasn't intended, he was just looking after everyone, as he always did. Knowing that no one was available, due to the marriage celebrations the night before, he took nity upon himself to pick up the woman that had been the replacement bride. But fate had a say in what happened next, and although it may have made good television viewing, ne wonders at at the sanctity of marriage vows.

The story is absorbing, and the action throughout becomes more and more mesmerizing.

The culmination of the meeting of the society of Westfield with mob mentality is striking and all too real.

The main characters are relatable and honest. Despite the challenges they meet, their love is touching and rewarding.

The secondary characters are well crafted and there is a myriad of side plots and stories.

I love the chance creek series--cowboys, heroes, and now, the seals. I must say that these latest were ok. I skipped around in this because I had a hard time suspending disbelief. I liked all the characters and love town (hence the 4 stars), but it just didn't do it for me. I didn't like the way all the people cow-towed to the show producer, creator, etc. Which is sad because I liked the two main characters very much.

Ok book not quite as good as the last two! Hoping to set up a sustainable community a group of seals must marry and start families. They meet up with a group of females who were tired of the rat race and go back to the simple life. The saga continues when two that were not supposed to meet up and marry end up attracted to each other.
