I truly enjoyed Treasured. While it is the second book in the Lonestar Love series it can be read as a stand alone. The story is well written with characters that are believable. Ethan is a sheriff who is strong, dominant, loving, and protective. Charlotte is naïve, adventurous, feisty, and willing to take chances to get where she wants to go. However, can she handle the spankings that go along with taking risks in the West? The story gave us danger, mystery, adventure, a few twists I did not see coming, friendships, love, and spankings. I loved the story as it kept my attention from start to finish and recommend giving it a try for a great night's read! I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book.

TREASURED—LOVED—PROTECTED

What a wonderful start to a new series, Lonestar Love. The story was a page-turner with a great cast of characters, some secrets, with mystery/suspense, a little bit of sassiness, throw in a dose of angst, dominant men, and feisty women, along with some action and steamy romance and you, have a winner. The story does not leave on a cliffhanger, but a segue into what appears to be the next book. If you missed reading book one, Troubled Waters, you wouldn’t be lost, because the book reads well as a stand-alone.

The story segues from the first book, where Megan O’Shanahan had been friends with Charlotte Weaver, and after Megan leaves Boston, Charlotte will learn distressing news that with the help of Megan and her husband, Michael, she will escape Boston, her controlling father, and travel by train and stagecoach to San Miguel, Texas. Met after being dropped off the stagecoach is met by Sheriff Ethan Ford who will escort her to the Manning ranch. It doesn’t take long for them to become a couple, but some secrets are coming between them.

“You still won’t tell me? I only aim to help. Until you trust me enough to share your burdens, it’s a fairly empty sentiment, Charlotte. I want it all. Your trust. Your faith. I’m not a half-way kind of man.”

The plot will have Charlotte running away from her father in Boston, and then once again when she learns men are searching for her in San Miguel. Rather than share the truth with Ethan, she will convince Megan to help her leave to catch a train and then to cross into Mexico. When Ethan learns of this, he takes off after her, and for her sake, it is a good thing he does. She has gone from the frying pan straight into the fire of danger.

“You are my treasure now. I’ll honor and treasure you always. Your trust. Your obedience. Your love. He needed a woman who would not only trust and obey him but one who would let him lead, correct, protect and cherish.”

The story has many spanking scenes, but always earned and given with love. The sex scenes are not overly explicit. It is full of mystery, suspense, danger, secrets, life and death situations, reunions, good versus evil, and finding happiness.

Charlotte is from Boston and has led a very sheltered life up until this point. She's decided to run away from her father and visit her friend in Texas. From there she hopes to find answers to questions about her past. Charlotte quickly finds out that the West is vastly different from Boston. The climate, the clothes, and the men are all very different. She meets Ethan, the town sheriff, and sparks fly between them. However, it's difficult for Charlotte to understand that men in the West are very determined to keep their women safe from the many dangers, most of which Charlotte has never experienced. As Ethan falls for Charlotte, she quickly learns to mind him or end up over his knee. After going off on her own, she realizes how much she needs Ethan and accepts his help in finding answers to her past. This was another wonderful western by Ms. Phelps. Although it is book two in the Lonestar Love series, it is easily read as a standalone. I've read several books by this author now and really enjoy their length which allows for plot twists and turns as well as character their character development. I found Treasured to be romantic, lovely, and engaging and I hope you do as well.

What a treasure this book was in the Lonesstar series by Ms Phelps.
It has everything i have come to expect and more from her books.
A western romance with danger, mystery,a alpha sheriff and one
very determined woman.

This story follows on from Megan and Mike's story and is just as
entertaining.Ethan Ford ,the town sheriff, is struck by Charlotte's
beauty the moment she arrives in his town.Charlotte has come
to visit her only friend and escape her father's clutches. He has
lied to Charlotte all her life and she is determined to find out
the truth.Sparks fly between Ethan and Charlotte and romance
is in the air.Ethan insists that Charlotte follows his rules to keep
her safe and it is not long before she finds herself over his knees.
Charlotte is keeping secrets from Ethan and will do anything to
find out the truth about her mother. Her father is just as determined
to bring her home anyway he can.

This book has the right blend of heart, emotions, spankings with a
sprinkling of heat. The story flowed well with realistic characters.
An enjoyable read.

Charlotte has always been her father’s treasure. While the word implies cherished one, her father treated her like a prisoner and once beat her to get a answer for a friend. Treasure? No, her father used her as ransom against her grandparents for money and power.

Thinking her mother was dead, Charlotte learns her mother is living in Mexico with a new husband and children. Charlotte’s grandparents gave her money and directions to reach her mother. But first she must visit her dear friend Megan in Texas.

Getting off the stage coach, she meets Sheriff Ethan Ford, Mike’s best friend. Her carries Charlotte to Mike and Megan’s ranch. Soon her is courting Charlotte, who decided to stay till after Megan’s baby is born. But one of her father’s men is asking questions in town. She must runaway in the night and continue her journey to her mother.

A rich adventure and page turner as Charlotte and Ethan find their way to Mexico.

I really enjoyed this story of Ethan and Charlotte. Ethan is the handsome, rugged town sheriff and he takes an immediate liking to newcomer Charlotte. He also believes in old fashioned discipline and isn't hesitant to use it with Charlotte even prior to them agreeing to marry. This book was well written and had a story line that was not obvious in how it unraveled. It kept me enthralled to the end. I also like that so many of these old west stories of Victoria Phelps' share characters but can totally be read as standalones. However if one hasn't read any of the time travel stories then the introduction of condoms in this story seems totally bizarre. But otherwise it is my favorite San Miguel story to date. It is indeed "A Treasure."

This is my favorite book so far by this author. I loved the characters and the story. Charlotte was innocent to most things in the world, but still determined to make it on her own. Ethan was the perfect alpha male, stern, yet caring. They worked really well together. The romance was sweet and I loved the adventure side of the story. This is the first book I have read in this series and it definitely made me want to go back and read the first book.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.   This is a  historical Western romance.  The men in this series believe  in taking the lead and that a spanking does a naughty girl wonders.  When Charlotte  sets out to find her mother and get away from her domineering, cruel father, she heads for her friend Megan.  Sheriff Ethan Ford is there to help...and to show her the error of her ways through his firm hand.   All the men in this story spank.

Good read

A lot more action than the first book in the series. The H is a good sheriff & decent man. The h is a little weak & makes a few bad decisions but steps up in her helping her friend, Megan, & in her determination to find her mama. They have help along the way, & the conclusion to the h's search makes for a great plot. Enjoyed the minor characters. Can't wait for the 3rd book in the series!

Ethan and Charlotte

This story is a bit spicy, but is has excitement and adventure mixed with fear and love. Ethan is the sheriff and Charlotte has run away from her cruel father in search of her once presumed dead mother. Ethan fall in love with Charlotte almost at first sight and she need his help, but won’t tell him her whole story. You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.

This is the second book in the Lonestar Love series. We continue on from Megan's story. Charlotte is Megan's friend from Boston. When she escapes from her father to find her mother, she goes to Megan for help. Ethan is the sheriff and he definitely has some ideas for Charlotte!

There are many plot twists in this book that I enjoyed. I highly recommend this author and series.

She has decided to find the mother she had thought was dead and she will do it alone. Her father sends men to bring her back. He intends to help her and he may just smack her when she needs it. Can they find her mother? Will she call for him? See if she finds her mother as well as love
