Love. It’s something most people take for granted everyday because they’ve always had it. If you stop to think for a moment, what would you be without that love? What would you be without your parents love, your siblings? You’d be me. I never even knew what love was until a boy with black eyes showed me his scars, the ones that match these scars all over my body. He opened my eyes and my heart. He wasn’t always patient or kind, but he was always mine. Then I betrayed him. We were pawns in a game. Deacon, Cole, Penelope and me. Moved around by forces far more powerful then us. They gave me names though, straight from their hearts. They gave me love by choice not by chance. And I would do anything to save them.
I live in southern Arkansas with my husband and young daughter. There is also an insane Boston Terrier running around. I've always been a lone wolf and find my friends in books. I started writing at a young age and I haven't stopped since. Most days you can find me either glued to my laptop or my kindle. My first novel, This Beautiful Thing was an Amazon best seller for 11 weeks and a year later I'm still tickled to see people enjoy it. I may not be a huge seller but I have the best fans ever and I thank God everyday for every single one of them.
Just few minutes ago I finished the book and have very strange feelings towards it. First of all I, as a mother, cannot imagine how a parent can be so cruel towards his/her child. Second, the book I purchased was not the final version as there were some misunderstandings and even footnotes made by some corrector or beta reader. That alone could be a reason for me to not rate it with 5 stars. The story was interesting and main heroine was breath taking in her ability to survive, but the rushed storyline and discrepancies lost the book’s five star rating. That’s a shame as if the author had not rushed the story to be published, the book would have gotten better rating and more praise. Anyway, I enjoyed the read very much.
So I really loved the story and the characters! It wasn’t really what I was expecting but I couldn’t put it down. It was a little short and think the author could have really dove into even deeper waters than she did, but I was super happy with the way everything went down. The manuscript itself needs work, not sure if the wrong version got uploaded or what but there are a few spots that have links to comments about the story like an ARC reader would make. It was not really distracting as I didn’t check on what it was until I was done reading. It just wasn’t as important as finding out what happened!
Wow I haven't read one of Amanda's books in a long time. So when this came up i grabbed it straight away so glad i did. Once i started this book i couldn't put it down finished it in three hours, didnt want to go to bed until i read the last page. This book was something different from what i previously read from her, it was so much more raw more emotional, it left a lump in my throat, and amongst or the secrets and torture there was a love story of two broken people sharing a bond that no one could understand or comprehend. It was beautiful loved every second of this book. Cannot wait to read what she writes next.
I was not expecting this heart racing, on the edge of your seat, romantic thriller when I opened this book. It’s a total deviation from Amanda’s other series- and I must say I loved it. The storyline is very dark. It reminded me a lot of Amo Jones with well plotted structures focusing on some hard to read topics. I loved her character arc and her relationship with Deacon. Made the book for me. Editing needed as there are still editor remarks highlighted.
It had everything a person could want from a book! It was nothing short of amazing and i was hooked from the first page. I like how it was told by 2 different point of views, but they weren't the views of 2 love interests. I also loved how there were steamy scenes byt it wasnt overdone to the point it felt like i was reading a porno. I just can't put into words just how much i loved this book!
I loved this dark tale. Songbird, (the best name) is a strong, loveable FMC. I loved her relationships with the guys. A part of me wanted her to be with Jeremy too, but at then end I loved that she had Him as family. Note to Author, your betas notes are still viable. No it did not deflect or interrupt from story, but a bit slack all the same.
I took a chance on this book, since it had so few reviews. I couldn’t put it down. Some parts were far fetched, but overall this was a really good book. Great characters and context.
Great book! I have read other books of Amanda heath and I have loved them.
I recommend if you want to read a good book with a good storyline read this book! Five stars all the way! One thing I really liked was the main girl was strong and she could take care of herself.
This author has amazing talent and imagination. Her stories always pull me in. It has been a few years since I’ve picked up one of her books and I don’t know why. I think she can go leaps and bounds if she got an amazing editor.
I enjoyed this book lots of twists and turns lots of puzzle pieces to put together great hero and heroine and side characters were good love a good epilogue and hea
