Quinn has been happily married for ten years. Her relationship with Ian is built on love, trust, and honesty. At least that's what she thought...until a four-letter word changed everything.
P.O.R.N.
After finding her husband alone in a rather awkward situation, Quinn starts to question her beliefs about their marriage.
While they've always had a healthy sex life, it was far from adventurous. She loves her husband, and he loves her, but the revelation allows worries to mount, and insecurities to grow.
After having a candid conversation with Ian, Quinn realizes that it all boils down to one very important question.
I'm a stay at home mom of 4 kids and have been happily married to my husband for 11 years and counting. I lead a pretty basic and straightforward life and use writing and reading as my escape.
LORDY...... LORDY...... SWEET BABY JESUS!!!!!!! This story really hit home for me in so many ways I just couldn't put it down. First I loved it because it was an older couple that was married and had been married for years. They loved one another and would do anything for each other. They also had a healthy sex life with no cheating and no one else coming in the middle of their marriage. That I give Meka mad kudos for because it usually ends up with cheating and I really hate that. This was more real life than any other book I have read in a long time and that is saying something because I read like a crazy woman two or three books a day if I can manage it through everything I have to do.
Quinn and Ian have a wonderful marriage and life. Things are going good until one day Quinn finds Ian watching Porn. She is shocked then she is hurt because she thought everything was good between them but she must have missed something. Worries and insecurities war in Quinn's heart and mind and she decides to talk to Ian and have a heart to heart with him. Lay it all on the line to find out what she did wrong and how they can get past this situation. They both know that communication is the key here and if they can have that they can work through anything.
After they are done talking there is one question that Ian has for Quinn and that is are you willing to put yourself out there and try anything. This is where the rubber meets the rode and Quinn will either have to say yes and have a happy life with Ian or she can say no and their marriage end. What will Quinn choose for her and Ian? Amazing story that is a MUST READ!!!!!!!!!
This week’s review finds us delving into an established romance written by one of my favorite erotic authors, Meka James. Anything Once, from Limitless Publishing, is a tasty look into the life of a married couple facing real-life problems… and hot, sizzlin’ sexual explorations. As always, Ms. James delivers with her erotic scenes, and leaves you swoony-sighing over her romance.
I’ve always been a fan of the characters Ms. James produces. They’re three-dimensional, realistic, flawed, and full of unique voice and personalities. With Anything Once, she continues this trend. Quinn and Ian are deep, wonderful characters who you latch onto and cheer on throughout the entire novel. You fan yourself over their hubba-hubba sex scenes, and tear up when they’re facing demons I wouldn’t wish on any couple. (Which, I should mention, is something Ms. James wishes everyone to be aware of going in… this book touches on the subject of infertility and the many ways it can affect a loving relationship. If this is a trigger for you, please go in prepared. She doesn’t treat it poorly, but it is a major plot point with ample page time.)
Overall, the tone of this novel, despite the heavy-hitting infertility subplot, is light-hearted and sexy. It’s a wonderful read if you’re feeling like something frisky and fun! I’d recommend this to any contemporary romance reader who isn’t afraid of erotic delight and can stomach a side of serious, heart-wrenching infertility battles.
Anything Once is so many things that I am so excited to see in a romance: it features a married couple, it features a couple who "older," and it features contemporary issues threatening a relationship that aren't infidelity. At the same time it's steamy and sexy and hot, a really difficult feat and James navigates all the issues with the fun aspect so well!
Quinn and Ian are so easy to root for. I love how they work through their communication issues and their guilt while still experiment with some amazingly hot and interesting sexy times (many a good idea in there)! (Also, I totally want their bathroom...and maybe their whole house...).
I also really loved how the book delved into so many different aspects of sex as well as porn providing various view points and thoughts without a lot of judgment. The writing is really lovely and yes...again...totally hot. It is so good and I really can't wait for the next story from this author!
Claiming Ian as my book boyfriend here and now. I am a sucker for a silver fox and his tender playfulness pulled me right in. He’s going to linger in my dreams for awhile. Quinn is a complicated and well thought out character that was super refreshing in Contemporary. She is very relatable and Ms. James writes her in a very raw and truthful manner. I love the plot of this book, what married couple couldn’t use some spice from time to time? And Ian brings new ideas into the bedroom in a very respecful way. And because life is messy and complicated so was their other issue. This is a well written rollercoaster of love, heartache and hot, hot sex. Five big stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is a new author to me, but I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. This is a well thought out plot, and it is a unique and refreshing chance to have a story about a couple who have been married for 12 years, and as with most marriages, life has a habit of getting in the way and issues and communication or rather lack off, can be swept under the carpet. I loved how Quinn and Ian worked through their communication issues, and opened their minds to different prospective to sex and porn. This is a well written story, which is steamy, sexy, and an all round entertaining read. I look forward to reading more from this talented author, and recommend her work for all.
This is my first book by this author. Quinn thought everything between them was good until she found her husband watching porn on his laptop. I love how the author did not use a young couple, but one that has been married for 12 years. A couple that has been married for that many years can have things change between the 2 of them. Add in infertility and things can get interesting! Ian thinks Quinn will leave him because of their infertility issues.
That’s it? There’s questions to items that happened. That is the only thing I really did not like about this book. Unanswered questions!
☆☆☆☆☆ I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. Recommend this book? Yes! Author? Yes! Read more from this author? Yes!
Full disclosure, I met Meka James a few months ago on Twitter and she is a lovely person. Between that and the ultra-gorgeous cover, I picked up her book, despite the fact I don’t read much erotic romance. But I’ll tell you what, the lady can write some good sex.
The story focuses on a married couple, Ian and Quinn, who hit a bump in their marriage when Quinn catches Ian jerking off to porn. She is devastated, and once they address what happened, they discover each of them have been quietly and inadvertently hurting their marriage and each other with how they deal with their own unhappiness and insecurities. Though the porn and subsequent conversations about their sex life cover one thread, infertility and their feelings about that issue make up the other.
Let’s tackle the infertility first. Though I felt like it was a smaller thread than the sex stuff, I thought James handled this with balance and sensitivity. Though it would be easy to paint this as a “Quinn issue,” the entire point was that her heartbreak over it hurt her husband, because in her grief, she shut him out. Ian’s internalization of his “fault” in their infertility gave his character dimension and highlighted how much this is a couple’s issue and not simply a source of sadness for just the man or woman who mourns their ability to have a child the way they want to. From a realism standpoint, this conflict worked much better for me than the porn.
You see, that plotline required a high level of suspension of disbelief for me. That a 30+ year old sexually active woman was so innocent as to have never given a single blow job or had sex anywhere but the bedroom was a tough pill to swallow. But, if you can go with that, the way James details the sexual evolution of the couple is really quite good. The book has a lot of sex. It’s varied in its style, positions, locations, etc. And each and every sex scene felt fresh and different from the others in the book. This is no small thing. I’ve read a lot of sex on page in my life and occasionally it all starts to blend together. Big kudos to James because I never felt tempted to skim a single time.
Other props come for featuring an older/established couple. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about missing the falling in love parts, but the rediscovery between these characters still satisfied me. And once more, James built a conflict without cheating or any unforgivable mistakes. I found Ian very likable and I loved how much he loved his wife. Quinn, for me, read a bit younger than her age, but I feel like her character definitely progressed in her arc and I believed these two could find happiness, no matter what their future held.
Be warned, not everything is tied up in a neat bow, but it gave me the sense that life goes on for these two, and whatever they faced, they would work it out together.
Blurb: Quinn has been happily married for ten years. Her relationship with Ian is built on love, trust, and honesty. At least that's what she thought...until a four-letter word changed everything.

Anything Once is much more than an erotic romance. Don't let the cover fool you.
That being said, I do really love that cover. It's stunning. This is the first book I'm reading from the author and I must admit, I really liked it. Especially, loved her writing style.
Anything Once focuses on a married couple Ian and Quinn, who are childless. Being married to Ian for over 10 years, Quinn thinks their relationship is going strong and steady, until she walks into Ian masturbating while watching porn. Self doubt and insecurities suddenly spread their ugly tentacles in her mind as she wonders what was wrong with their relationship.
Fortunately, Quinn after two weeks of silence, take that step to reach her husband and ask what she missed all along. Together they decide to explore their sexual life and the rest is for the readers to find out.
I love how the author captured the essence of relationships. She has addressed one of the important fact most of the married couples go through after a few years of their marriage.
The initial bliss of married life tends to get lost with how busy our lives are and when children and other responsibilities come along, many just go with the flow while struggling to catch up. Some couple stop to think what they've been missing and try to reignite the passion.
If you're in a relationship for so long and feel it's time to reignite that passion this book is definitely for you. It addresses the concern and I'm glad the characters have a positive approach toward the issue and I love how understanding they are with each other. Another thing I liked is the approach on women's self doubt and hesitation to explore certain things in their sexual life.
It's definitely worth the read. I'm looking forward to read more from this author. Cheers.
I really enjoyed this book!! I was hooked right from the beginning right till the end!! Both Quinn and Ian were very relatable characters. When Quinn catches Ian watching porn it causes them to sit down and deal with a situation that let's be honest most married couples have to deal with, especially when you have been married for quite a few years!! I loved how the porn situation causes Quinn to decide to spice up their marriage in the bedroom and WOW they really spice it up ( fanning myself!!) Sometimes with the good there comes some bad!! Quinn and Ian end up dealing with a situation that would be hard for any couple to face, one that I have had to face personally!! Dealing with fertility issues is hard, it's messy, it's complicated and it's an emotional rollercoaster which takes you from the highest high's to the lowest low's!! Meka James wrote it beautifully, she shows us both the light and the dark and writes it honestly!! This book has a little of everything it's lighthearted, sexy and emotional along with some heartache and tears!! Above all it's real and full of love. Real life is messy and she shows us that honestly which I loved the most!! A definite 5 star read and I highly recommend it!!
I know you hear this but this definitely needs more than 5 stars. I was so very touched by this story. I really enjoyed how mature the characters were. The story matter is touching and sad and heartwarming all at the same time. Infertility is a struggle many have to deal with and this didn't just gloss over it but you felt the loss. I LOVED how the author dealt with the fears and insecurities Ian and especially Quinn felt. The loving and sensual way they tried new things and the inner growth Quinn dealt with in her sexuality. I was jealous of how open and willing each partner was with each other. Nicely written and loving done.

I am at a loss for words. This book had me feeling all the emotions!! From superb writing to amazing characters you can't help but root for, this book was magnificent.
This was not the typical romance novel we see floating around. Quinn and Ian were not just already married, but they were facing real-life issues. No, there was no cheating, so if that's a hard limit for you in books, you're good to go.
A lot of married couples struggle with sex, but Ian and Quinn made a point to talk to each other and truly communicate their fantasies, as well as concerns. And that is where the sizzling HOT scenes came into play.
Quinn was willing to try anything once in the bedroom (or around the house *wink*) and Ian delivered. Boy, did he ever! They experimented together and it brought them even closer because their trust towards each other only got stronger. Mind you, they had a GOOD relationship, a GOOD marriage, so things only got better for them as they worked through things.
There is another important issue highlighted in this book and let me tell you, it brought me to tears because Meka wrote it beautifully and with respect. She NAILED all the emotions behind that topic. Truly amazing.
My only issue with this book is...I WANT MORE QUINN AND IAN! LOL! I am so invested in these characters that I can't help but want more and more, lol!
What a blessing it was to read this book. FIVE STARS and TOP RECOMMENDATION.
Such a steamy and delightful established romance!! I couldn't get enough of Quinn and Ian. Their relationship was enviable. Despite facing so many challenges in their marriage, they remained true and loving to one another. The conflict in this story is realistic, and the characters respond in a relatable fashion. There need to be more established romances out there that hit the nail so solidly on the head. Thank you to Ms. James for bringing such a shining star to the genre!
Romances about married couples always intrigue me, and this one was no different. There was plenty of sex because the heroine was exploring her sexuality in an effort to become more open sexually with her husband. The subplot about infertility was also interesting. A solid story.
This is an EXCEPTIONALLY exciting review for me because Meka James is not simply my publishing/release date twin, she was also one of the best writing friends a girl could ask for long before our contracts. Getting a chance to review for someone you already adore is pretty freaking awesome.
But let's talk about the book instead of the amazing that is Ms. James (for now).
Anything Once follows Ian and Quinn through a VERY hairy situation. Quinn finds her beloved husband of more than a decade watching porn and it shatters her world. Everything comes into question for her. Why isn't she enough for him? Does he want her to behave like the women in the videos? Is there something wrong deeper in their marriage?
All. The. Questions.
Which makes this story so real because you can immediately relate to Quinn on a very deep level. They are all very accurate questions that anyone would think. As are her emotions that range the gamut from hurt to anger to... curiosity?
Wait, what??
Yes, Quinn finds herself curious as to what Ian is watching and she finds herself sipping wine and pulling up porn herself. What surprises Quinn more than catching Ian viewing it days prior is her own reaction. Her interest is deepened and her body is excited by the acts depicted on her screen. Suddenly she starts to wonder, what if she offers to try Anything Once with Ian?
This leads to an exciting sexcapade between Ian and Quinn that opens their eyes and their lives to a steamy change of pace neither ever expected, but both are enjoying immensely.
Ms. James is a stellar writer who makes every sex scene come to life in vibrant and clear ways. If you need a hot read with a guaranteed HEA, look no further. One click this RIGHT AWAY!

This book was definitely a light and fun read. There are some angsty parts but for the majority of the story it's just plain hot! I enjoyed it! New to me author and I love the writing style and flow of everything. Definitely recommend!
Meka has an amazing hit right here.......this book is pure sin!!! The desire, lust and passion Ian and Quinn have is hot as fire. The love, tenderness and compassion they share as a couple will leave you wanting more. I cannot rave enough about how absolutely beautiful this story is.
This book is hot. Fast paced, dealing with real issues but not angsty. Lovely characters. Super sexy read. If you think an established couple will be boring let Meka James prove you wrong. Highly recommend.
I love a great quick read that exposes everyday truths. Mrs. James gives us Ian and Quinn, a couple who has been married for quite some time. Like real relationships, they face hurdles that will either break them or bring them closer.
I have a new found love for established romances! It's great watching people fall in love but Meka James makes it even greater to watch people choose to stay in love. She definitely has a new fan.
*I recieved this novel in exchange for an honest review by way of Voracious Readers Only *
Anything Once goes way past the typical erotic romance to explore real issues facing married couples: poor communication, unmet needs, and infertility. In between the (hot-hot-hot!) sex scenes, Ian and Quinn come together to explore their issues and work through them. The novel is unusual in dealing with romance between married partners, and I'd love to read more books like this.
I particularly loved the realistic way Ms. James dealt with the couple's struggles with infertility. While it's a hopeful story with the expected HEA, I appreciated the real-life, messy, not-fully-resolved (for now) way she wrapped up this subplot.
There is now an added bonus to Ian & Quinn's story on my blog. Hope you enjoy the extended HEA to wrap up their story. http://bit.ly/2ZUXz5u PASSWORD: bonus
I’m not normally into erotica on its own, but I loved the thought of one in the confines of a marriage. And with an actual plot threaded through the whole thing, it really was a nice treat! Ian & Quinn eventually figured it out, and all in all it was a satisfying read with a satisfying ending.
Had this book in my kindle for a longtime so I went into this blind without knowing anything and I actually enjoyed it.
Granted there was a few moments that I wanted Quinn try things without being reluctant but overtime she overcome that.
The communication between these two have gotten better overtime and the willingness that Quinn had to try new stuff that her husband loves were a plus for me.
Going to be trying more of this author work from now on.
It has great characters and character build!! It's not just your typical contemporary romance!! It's about married couple Ian and Quinn, they have a decent sex life. He just fantasizes about something more and he wife doesn't disappoint. You just have to read this unique romance story!!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I'll start by saying this just wasn't my cup of tea. I saw a write up of this book that talked about the couple (Quinn & Ian) having infertility issues. Leaving you to assume that was what led to the porn "discovery". Also leaving you to assume that if Quinn isn't willing to put herself out there sexually that their marriage was over. I then incorrectly made the assumption that there would be a whole lot more discussing and not nearly as much sex. So needless to say I was not very... excited....with this book.
I have therefore based my review on the basics. The characters - I believed these characters to be pretty much believable. I kind of had a hard time with how quickly they did these 180s in their sex life. I would imagine after 10 years there would be more resistance and not such quick about face in Quinn. Ian also seemed to jump into a Dom-like attitude so quickly. The storyline - Basing this on Quinn catching Ian it definitely stayed true to that. The infertility seemed thrown in there just to add more depth to the story. It felt pointless to even bring it up to me. Almost like it was used as a way to excuse the use of the porn.
That all said. The editing was good. No typos. No misspelled words. No grammatical errors. The book flowed well. Everything was great from that point. Just be aware that this is definitely erotica. Hopefully others read reviews. I wish I had...
This book was pretty good for me. I read a lot. It wasn’t a bad book by any means , but will it leave me with a book hangover? No. I liked that the characters were older and more mature in their relationship. I like that there wasn’t any cheating. I think It was a great subject to touch on. The whole need to spice things up. I have been married for 19 years and I definitely think you should be willing to try new things together to keep it fun and exciting in the bedroom. As long as you are respectful of each other’s wants and desires, and make sure your partner is comfortable, it can be super fun! Ian and Quinn were just off the charts HOT 🥵Now, I really felt in some ways like that because there was so much sex, I didn’t get the rest story I wanted. I think the author did that though so each scene was about a new thing they tried together, but then ,so the book wasn’t too long had to cut it off and we didn’t get to go farther into the future. I love the steamy scenes, don’t get me wrong!! They were also dealing with Infertility which is such a heartbreaking struggle. I would just loved to see what they decided about their journey to grow their family and how that played out, but It just seemed to abruptly end. Like bam, and didn’t seem to have a cliffhanger vibe!! I really liked this couple and would loved an epilogue to see what happened for them in the future. Overall a decent read and super hot and steamy scenes🔥. Will totally read this author again.
ANYTHING ONCE by Meka James is a wonderful story that grabs you from the go. Unlike most romance novels, at the start of the book Quinn and Ian have been married for ten years. They’ve had their happily ever after. But after Quinn catches Ian watching porn on his computer, she starts to question everything about their marriage and the man she thought she knew. Ian loves Quinn, that is always clear, and is happy in the marriage, but certainly would be open to trying new things, if Quinn were comfortable.
This is really Quinn’s story, as she explores her sexuality, and the limits of what she’s willing and unwilling to do, with her soulmate. The couple must also come to terms with a fertility issue they’ve struggled with. Quinn's emotions as she deals with this new curveball in her marriage are written perfectly by Ms. James. My favorite aspect of ANYTHING ONCE is how Ian and Quinn are committed and dedicated to each other and honest about their feelings, once they decide to explore their sex life a bit. I also loved Quinn’s relationship with her bestie, Evie. We all need a friend like Evie!
ANYTHING ONCE is unlike anything I’ve ever read before. Warning: Keep a fan nearby, because these steamy sex scenes will make you flush! Highly recommended for those who enjoy a sexy, erotic romance.
Meka James is a new to me author. But not for long. I loved her writing style and the characters were so believable. Quinn and Ian have been together for 12 years. Quinn thought that her marriage was solid and Ian was happy. They have had some ups and downs but she never felt there were issues in her relationship until she comes home one night from a girls night out and finds Ian in his office watching porn. She was stricken and he was ashamed. after two weeks of avoidance, Quinn confronts him and they discuss the issue. He tells her he loves her the same but just needed a bit more than their missionary type lovemaking but he would never cheat. She starts looking at some porn and decides to try a few things to spice up their marriage and after a big discussion of his fantasies she tells him she will try most anything once. Though the book is very sexually oriented it isn't pornish at all. It is about an established couple that their relationship has gotten complacent and they try to spice things up. It also deals with infertility and the effects not only on the woman but the man as well. This story is so well written. It touches your heart but is not safe for work or public since it is smoking hot!
