Movies, Muffins, Murder. Read 5 Movie Club Mysteries in 1 awesome volume!
After her marriage and career collapse, ex-cop Maggie Doyle flees San Francisco for the Wild West…of Ireland. But Whisper Island and a job at the Movie Theater Café don't provide the respite she expected. When Maggie and her rock-hard muffins are hurled into a series of murder investigations, she enlists the help of her UFO-obsessed friend, a nun, and a feral dog.
This collection includes:
DIAL P FOR POISON After the most hated woman on Whisper Island is poisoned at her aunt’s café, can Maggie catch the murderer before they strike again? Or will her terrible baking skills burn down the café first?
THE POSTMAN ALWAYS DIES TWICE The instant Maggie and her friend discover the corpse of the Whisper Island postman, her plans to chill for the next two months are put on ice.
HOW TO MURDER A MILLIONAIRE Armed with her newly issued private investigator's license, Maggie is on the case…of a sheep that went missing twenty-two years ago. When she trips over a dead body on the first day of the investigation, she realizes there’s more to this cold case than a fight over lamb chops.
THE 39 CUPCAKES When Maggie chaperones a group of bratty kids to an archaeological dig, one of her charges discovers a skeleton. At first it looks like a cold case—until a member of the excavation team winds up dead…
REBEL WITHOUT A CLAUS In the weeks before the holidays, Maggie scores a lucrative job working undercover at a fancy department store. When she finds the corpse of an obnoxious customer in her bathtub, Maggie's festive season takes a fatal turn.
***Each story includes a cocktail recipe—minus the deadly ingredients!***
Zara Keane is a USA Today bestselling author of Irish cozy mysteries and romantic comedies.
Zara grew up in Dublin, Ireland, but spent her summers in a small town very similar to the fictitious Ballybeg and Smuggler's Cove.
She currently lives in Switzerland with her family. When she’s not writing, Zara loves knitting, running, unplugged gaming, and adding to her insanely large lipstick collection.
Dial P For Poison (Movie Club Mysteries #1), my first read from author Zara Keane. The Postman Always Dies Twice (Movie Club Mysteries #2), my second read from author Zara Keane and better than the first. How to Murder a Millionaire (Movie Club Mysteries #3), my third read from author Zara Keane and each book has been better than the last. The 39 Cupcakes (Movie Club Mysteries #4), my fifth read from author Zara Keane. Rebel Without a Claus (Movie Club Mysteries #5), my sixth read from author Zara Keane. A fast-paced, enjoyable, well-written mystery with well-developed characters, a captivating storyline, and an island whose inhabitants grow on you with every word written. Each book in this series has been better than the last. Since I own more than a dozen of her books it won't be my last! I look forward to the next book in this series and I’m sure there will be a next one. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Likeable heroine and cohorts? Check. Sense of humor? Check. Excellent plotting and clues for solving mysteries? Well-written? Check, check and check. And, yes, there's a romantic interest and properly villainous bad guys, too, plus a magical setting: an island off Ireland. I had fun reading these as they came out, but had to wait for the next story. Now you don't! A blast to read--and reread!
I can only hope that she will write another Movie Club Mysteries. I loved every single minute, so awesome. Whoever else reads them is in for a real treat.
Great plots. Interesting characters. Would recommend to others. Loved getting the set of five books for great price too. Looking forward to next story in April.
