This story was not what I was expecting when reading the blurb and I am being totally honest when I say that I was not immediately drawn to either of the main characters but by the end I really ended up liking them so much. This story is about healing, learning to love again and exploring sexual fantasies and desires. I am voluntarily reviewing a ARC of this book.
Reese is as superstitious as they come after breaking up with her cheating ex in college and breaking a mirror she has convinced herself that she has seven years of bad luck. Keeping men at arm’s length since then she is surprised that she agreed to attend an art gallery showing with Simon her superior in the accounting department, she’s new to the department but she enjoys her job but realises that she made a mistake the minute they get there and it becomes more apparent when he refuses to take NO for an answer where he insinuates her job is in danger unless she does what he says. Luckily someone steps in but it’s none other than Kane McKenzie the CEO of the company they both work for. She is drawn to Kane straight away and things develop quickly between them leading to her exploring a side to herself she has always repressed. But not everyone is happy with the with the developments in her relationship and sets out to cause trouble but can she count on Kane or will her run of bad luck continue?
Kane McKenzie the enigmatic and successful billionaire has had Reese in his sights since the day that he set eyes on her, not having a pet since his fiancé Sadie tragically died ten years ago this is a big step allowing someone back into his life but he can see them having a future together and she intrigues him like no other. He sees her and brings him back in a way that he thought had been lost forever. But just when he thinks that he has found happiness again there is a revelation that rocks him to his very foundation and he detroys the one thing he has come to crave. But when the real truth comes to light can he rescue everything with Reese or has he lost her forever?
This is a hot, steamy office romance with intrigue, deception and healing. I absolutely loved Reese she was no doormat and stood up for herself in her job and within the relationship she has with Kane and she didn’t drop at his feet when he realised he messed up she walked away. Nice to see a feisty female. Although there were a few editing issues it didn’t spoil the enjoyment of this book for me even a little bit. Highly enjoyable read.

Disturbing
I would not recommend this book. I’ve thought overnight about whether or not to write a review or just leave it. This book was so disturbing to me that I must say something to warn others. The first half of this book was interesting, nothing too shocking or traumatic—which was a relief because I wanted to read a fun, kinky romance. The femme lead character was seemingly strong, self-assured and relatable. Although there was a scene in the beginning of the book where she was forced out on a date by one of her supervisors, he tried to physically abuse her, our lead male character shows up and intervenes, halting any serious trauma from happening. It gets spicy, intriguing from there and I felt hooked to learn more about them. By chapter 16 I’m feeling disappointed in the direction the author took the story. I am in disbelief that a good book has gone so far south. Yet, I made it almost halfway, I keep reading... By the end of chapter 18 I’m nervous and scared as the character. Still also disbelieving the hero would ever harm her I read to the beginning of chapter 19 before giving up entirely on this story. I’m feeling so confused and frustrated. The NDA agreement he made her sign, how he punished her by insisting she wear some kind of chastity belt. He left down for a business meeting and she was forced to have his assistant help her take it off while she cleaned it in his office? How humiliating! That’s not trust, or respect! It was a test pf submission her will to his and as far as I am concerned no one is worth losing one’s self-respect/dignity over. Ch. 18 he returns and she’s about to leave, then some other plot with other characters makes her stay and then he convinces her to meet up with him later. He uses his chauffeur to pick her up without an explanation where she is going—they still have not even been out on a first date!He He expects her to trust him in all things when in my observation he has done very little to earn her respect or trust. She’s alone in a car, headed to an unknown location after having no contact with him for 12days. The driver won’t hive her a clue. Once she arrives the chauffeur convinces her that she must follow her bosses request that she wear a blindfold. When her boss shows up, he asks her if she trusts him. Makes it seem like if she questions him, or refuses his request she is wrong and distrustful of him. How immature can he be?!? She was shaking an crying! A good dominant would give comfort, know how to test limits/push boundaries while also being gentle and respectful, nurturing. This male lead insists he’s not a Master & that she can refuse any of his requests—but not really—this is his characters fatal flaw. The downfall of this story and not at all where I thought the author would take this story. It was supposed to be a hot, sexy, intelligent read and instead became emotionally disturbing, nearly traumatic to read. The scene which ended it all for me was outside the car. She’s basically forced into wearing a blindfold, to affirms to him that she trusts him, and what does he do when she is crying/shaking from fear and voices to him how it’s too much for her to be at a party, blindfolded and uncertain what is going on(all this after dealing with the humiliation of wearing some dumb chastity belt for 12 days). He cares more about power/control and is so darn selfish—that’s not love, that’s obsession. With so many books to choose from why would I subject myself to this abusive one? I guess the first chapter ought to have clued me in. I suppose I gave the author the benefit of the doubt and was really hoping this book was going to ne amazing. Well hopes dashed and mind feeling disturbed.

As I always do, I’m leaving an honest review.
The h is an employee of the H’s company as an accountant but they had never spoken to each other until a date gone wrong for the h at an art gallery. This is where the story really starts.
Other employees are not happy with the h for a few reasons that you’ll need to read about and make her time at the company less than enjoyable but she is feisty and holds her own! I loved that about her.
A huge misunderstanding towards the end separates the H and h. I’m SO GLAD the h didn’t fall at the H’s feet when he realized his mistake and apologized. When she left anyway, I wanted to high five her!
I have to say that the visual of the h always “squirting” isn’t a sexy one for me. Others may like this but for me personally, it was too much and happened way too often in the book.
This book needs a thorough proofreading and editor due to many misspellings, missing words, wrong words used, etc. Ex: “I love you dress!”
Overall, a good read. Predictable but sometimes that’s what I’m in the mood for.

2 and 2/3 stars. It was a somewhat decent read until the last 1/3rd or 1/4th, and then the writing just got a little too sloppy and trite.

Reese hasnt had luck with men in a while as evidence by accepting a n invitation by her superior at work, Simon. Taken to an art gallery he propositions her, then hints its a must while threatening her job. When that fails he talks about drugging her and forcing her. A head butt only infuriates her luckily someone steps in to stop him. There boss and CEO of the company...Kane McKenzie.
Kane sees in her her natural submissive disposition and desires. She is drawn to him. Evidenced by stepping out side her comfort zone in a bathroom. HOT. 🔥 The two start a torrid secretive exploration. Him as Sir, her as his pet. Steamy sex, build up of feelings. Make the first 75% of this book 5 star. It is the last 25% that knocked this book down for me.
A jump to conclusion leads to him judging her, accusing her. She stands strong and they split. In the blink of the eye the true reason is found and he wants her back. Fast forward 3 weeks he finds her. You can guess the end.
Here is my issue why this book on gets 3 starts. Spelling errors, missing words etc annoyed me and made me reread sentences. I hate that. Also, this book feels like the 1st 3/4th were thought out, lined out and written fully, then the last 1/4 of the book rushed and haphazardly finished.
Still a nice read just IMO could of been a lot more.

This was a fun read. The story was interesting --and hot -- enough to hold my attention. I like the characters and the secondary plot was interesting. My only negative is that we don't really get closure on the secondary plot. We know a little, but not enough -- at least for me. I like knowing the villains get what's coming to them.
There are two more books in this series, to date Lucky Pet: A St. Patrick's Day Office Romance and Fake Pet. Plus, there are at least two more female employees and one male employee at McKenzie Tech that could have their own stories as well as three brothers of one of the characters. I look forward to reading all that come along.
Also, I was happy to see that there was an extended epilogue available, not that the story needed it. It was just nice to have an added scene with Reese and Kane.

Oh dear god. I bought books by Jamie Knight and should have stopped with the first. Wow. Definitely not the author for me. I'm not even going to attempt to read the others I have.

Humour, love, dom/submissive, intrigue, etc. It has it all.
Reece is a witty, sassy, intelligent young woman accompanies Simon, the sleaze-bag to an art exhibition who attempts to assault Reece when she shows her disinterest in him. Along comes Kane McKenzie the CEO and owner of the company she works for. From that moment, we are in a subtle dom/sub territory. Then WOW!!! A totally unexpected turn of events. Kane, the archetypal, mesmerising alpha male has a totally unexpected request from Reece. She is stunned and doesn't know whether to slap him or grant his wish. Will Reece be the one to bring light into his tragic and meaningless private life? They embark upon a subtle BDSM relationship and as one would expect, their feelings grow with each encounter. They become far more than dom/pet to each other. In the backdrop is the vitriolic bullying Reece suffers at the office. Then comes the ultimate humiliation. Reece is accused of embezzlement. As all evidence points to Reece. Kane commits the biggest mistake one can in a relationship, he believes that Reece is capable of such deceit without giving her the element of doubt. With all parties heartbroken, the solution comes from an unlikely source, Sloan who is a stuck-up snob, revealing that Reece may be innocent. It is a very well written novel with minimal editing errors. It was a pleasure to read. The language is graphic, the content very sexy, the characters very well rounded and believable. After Kane goes through a lot of anguish for having lost Reece; which if you ask me it is nothing short of what he deserves; we are rewarded with the much awaited happy ending. Hot suspense read
This book was hottttt and hott and delves into the deeper wants and desires of Reese, a girl who believes in luck charms and is as superstitious as they come. She's waiting for her luck to open up where love and relationships are concerned. As if the universe listens to her plea. Just when one incident was about to turn into the worst night of her life. A saviour steps in to save her and make all her wishes to come true.
Kane is a wealthy man who's not looking for love but wants a pet whom he can enjoy and relish. He had been wanting reese and this incident seemed perfect to step in finally and claim her. So starts their adventure in which both reese and Kane venture into the wild and the unknown for reese and lose themselves. Until something strikes and breaks their bond. Someone wants reese out of the Mckenzie offices. She's been stalked and things start getting serious when reese finds herself into an unknown trouble which can ruin her entire life.
This was definitely a fun ride to read and the suspense just added the much needed spice. I loved how her friends supported her in everything and I especially loved how Sloane finally turned how to be.

This was definitely a fun ride to read and the suspense just added the much needed spice. I loved how her friends supported her in everything and I especially loved how Sloane finally turned how to be.

Great office romance. Kane, billionaire CEO, lost his fiancé 10 years ago in a tragic accident, is finally getting over his lost. The minute he sees Reese, he knows she is what he needs in his life. Reese is very smart, sexy girl but also very superstitious. She has had a bit of bad luck the last few years and hoping her luck turns around. It does the night she goes to an art gallery with her boss Simon, but is saved by Kane when things get out of control. The two have an instant attraction and Kane is hoping Reese will be open to be his pet.
Their relationship progresses quickly. The sex scenes are hot and some BSDM. Nothing too intense. Story has some ups and downs but ends with a HEA.
I would definitely recommend this book and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Overall quality of writing was good. Good story line. Proofreading had a few glitches but nothing major. Reese, beautiful yet not really aware, is stuck on trying to regain luck. She works for Kane and at first isn't really aware of him being so focused on her job. Kane, a dominant alpha, is so aware of Reese from the moment he sees her, yet doesn't act on it till he rescues her. She appears to be all bookish and sweet to others, but deep down she has a secret kink. Kane has a need to apologise and his contradiction is in how he does it. Throws you off a wee bit. No cheating or cliffhanger, there is quite a bit of steam and you get a happy ever after. Enjoy.

Oh man, talk about a spectacular ending. This read is as captivating as it is riveting from beginning to end. All the twists, turns and unpredictable events along with surprising circumstances that really pulls this bad boy together beautifully. You feel everything the characters feels, you hurt, love and cry right along with them. Jamie didn't hold back or pull any punches, she threw it right out there and it all came out brilliantly. True Love Found
The book was great!! I loved Reese and Kane. They had issues but overcame them. The plot was interesting and kept me guessing and changing my mind as to who was the culprit and of course, the sex was great. Steamy, hot and wild!! It was. a story that had a wonderful plot and amazing characters. It dealt with deceit, friendship -- Eileen and Mandy and surprises -- Sloane. Not saying anymore, I don't want to spoil the story - but there is a HEA. THANK YOU JAMIE!! Another story with Ashton, and the Dark Club would be great. Think about it, Jamie, please!

Reese is an amazing woman that is just about to be assaulted by a guy she knows when Kane steps in and saves her. Office Pet was a sexy boss/ assistant romance, a written story that really has a great storyline. Jamie Knight has definitely given us a story with plenty of steam and a happily ever after. The characters are ver interesting, Reese is a strong independent woman with a great job who has sworn off men. Kane is the CEO, he has had his eye on the very intriguing Reese. There is some really great chemistry between these two, but soon there is some drama that really gets interesting. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Reese and Kane - Oh my gosh - this book is so good!! The book starts going in one direction and makes a turn I wasn't expecting. Jamie builds the characters in a way that I loved them. Take a great plot, wonderful characters then throw in some BDSM and you have a great book which this one is! Read about Reese and Kane and love them, too!

Surprisingly good
I've been in a reading slump lately. Thought that I would give this dirty little read a whirl. I really liked It. The story line and the characters. Reese is not a pushover. She stands up to and confronts her bully several times. I like a strong heroine. There were a few spelling errors, but I just overlooked those. Overall, it was a good read.
