Kennedy Layne is a USA Today bestselling author. She draws inspiration for her romantic thrillers in part from her not-so-secret second life as a wife of a retired Marine Master Sergeant. He doubles as her critique partner, beta reader, and military consultant. Kennedy also has a deep love for cozy mysteries, thrillers, and basically any book that can keep her guessing until the very end. They live in the Midwest with their menagerie of pets. The loyal dogs and mischievous cats appreciate her writing days as much as she does, usually curled up in front of the fireplace.
Raven Marigold inherits a tea shop from her grandmother. Upon arrival Raven and her best friend Heidi discover a body in the back of the shop. Things just get weirder from then on as she discovers her the heritage her mother tried to hide from her.
Yes, the Marigolds are bona fide witches. Her grandmother did more then just make tea, she made herbal remedies with a bit of magic in them. She also gets her grandmothers back-from-the-dead, talking familiar Leo, who suffers from short-term memory loss.
The interactions between Raven and Leo are hilarious! These books were very fun and the characters are absolutely delightful!
I was pleasantly surprised with this new series. Raven gets drawn into a world she never knew existed is learning how to continue her grandmother’s legacy in a small town full of gossip, secrets, a handsome sheriff and now, murder!
Granddaughter inherited the tea shop in Paramour Bay. Why when she had nothing to do with her and her mother. The lawyer had her down as the wicked witch granddaughter. With magical tea blends, another side of Raven becomes known to her, she was a witch. The characters are delightful.
You have to read these books if you enjoy murder mysteries with witches and other beings. And these are not juvenile. Young people could certainly read them, but they aren’t goofy or made for young teens. The mysteries are complicated, but I had no trouble keeping up. I just couldn’t figure out who the murderer was in any of the books. There are some grammatical and sentence structure problems, but not many, and they didn’t detract from the stories. I smiled at the humor, and even got tears in my eyes in sad places. This author is an excellent story teller.
This series of books featuring a woman discovering that she is a witch features endearing characters with warmth. The prose is a bit uneven and the plots convoluted but characters ' appeal and the humor of their interactions kept me reading. The new witch is dependent on a cranky cat familiar with a short-term memory deficit to help her prefect her skills with unpredictable results. Fun !
The basic idea was cute, however, as in so many ebooks now, editing was woefully inadequate. The worst slip of all? The girl in the dress shop that Ted liked to go to? Well, she was Mindy for the first two books, and became Molly in the third??
I enjoyed these three stories. The Author spends time filling in the reader who might not have started at the beginning of the series. That doesn’t always happen. I like all the characters. Well worth reading. EBB
An an excellent box set to start the Paramour Bay Series, book 3 leaves with just the right amount of curiosity that will ensure that you read through the other titles in the series.
Witty, funny, charming and whimsical, this set has been excellent to read.
What a delight to find out your in a family of witches! Adventures leading to an entirely new life, and maybe love. This is a gun set of books that I couldn't stop reading.
Cute characters, funny scenes, perfect familiar cat Mr Leo. One complaint, the cat on the cover is not Mr Leo I found that distracting. I've seen a cartoon cat that fits my expectations but can't recall its name
Imagine finding out your a witch and the rules and responsibility that goes with it. To be given a tea shop and home helps to turn your life around but with a twist. Most of these are good, a bit of mayhem thrown in keeps the books moving along just nicely.
There's a young, attractive woman, a handsome man, a cat, and a mystery. And witches, golems, familiars!? I apparently missed when they found Nans book though. The three books are fun to read.
The first 3 books were easy to ready and all the characters were entertaining. I especially loved the interaction between Raven and her familiar Leo. Looking forward to No.4
These Three books had mystery, murder nd witches, what more could one ask for. They had humor as well as some great characters. Looking forward to more.
Great characters and story. Witchcraft and familiars and best friend. Adventure everywhere you turn. It's always good to have someone else to keep your secret
Very entertaining read. Good fun, though I didn't feel the need to go straight onto the second book once I'd finished the first, I will probably dip in again.
Love being able to read books in a series back to back. This series does not disappoint. Loved following the characters and seeing what happens next. Great read.
Raven, a single young woman is enjoying life in New York with her best friend Bridget and a mother who tries to micromanage her. Her grandmother passed away and left her a tea shop in Paramore Bay. What Raven doesn't know is Grandma was a witch!
