Every book by Jordan L. Hawk is great, and this one is no exception. I've had a soft spot for Isaac since the first book and knew his story will be heart felt and an incredible journey. I was not disappointed. This is wonderful slow burn romance with lots of longing, denying and angst. I loved every moment of it.

Bill is such a sweet and caring man. He has loved Isaac for a long time but when he tries to move on, unsuccessfully if I might add, Isaac finally puts all his cards on the table and waits to be rejected. There were so many fears and doubts in him that Bill helped chase away with his love and devotion. These two men only needed one chance and they finally took it. Bill finally felt wanted and loved, and Isaac found himself again. It was amazing to watch him transform from unsure and frightened young man into confident and fierce protector.

The case that Bill and Isaac were working on was a tough one. The time was not on their side, with no clues and lots of speculation they managed to avert a tragedy. The twists and turns were incredible, the smatterings of myths and history made this a very fascinating read. The characters from previous books made appearances and filled the pages with humor, sarcasm and friendly bickering.

As always the last part of the book was thrilling and I was on the edge of the seat feeling equal parts scared that no one will survive and cheering for the guys to kick evil's rotten teeth down its nasty throat! And they sure did! It was exhilarating! I loved every moment either sweet, painful or scary! Ms Hawk brought magic and love in tandem with monsters and brave witches and their familiars in a superb story that is simply captivating! I loved it and highly recommend it!

Fantastic!! 4.5 Stars!

What an amazing addition to the Hexworld series! I loved this installment which featured Isaac and Bill. Do yourself the favor of retracing the previous ones for fun before launching into this one since ALL of the witches and familiars play substantial roles in this one. I wish I had and was playing brain catch-up a good part of the time.

Despite my memory loss, I was fully captivated by this one—what’s that tell you? Ya, this one rocked!

So, Isaac is suffering PTSD from his enslavement two years prior. Bill has been yearning for him all the while, but Isaac feels he is too tainted by evil to be of any good for anyone.

It takes a while for the two to finally get together, but when they do it’s glorious.

They work a case of disappearing children and again we meet with a sinister plot targeting familiars. This one is pretty nasty. One of the perps was rather easy to guess, but the reasons behind the scheme weren’t.

So, read this!

And now I await what will likely be Sionn’s story. I wonder who she’ll pair the handsome screech owl with?

Hexhunter

Finally, Bill and Isaac story! And let me say that I am not even a bit disappointed.

At first, judging Isaac's behaviour I was afraid that the whole book will be full of drama and Bill and Isaac dancing around each other with Sienn being a smoke screen and a sort of casualty of this situation. Fortunately, the author have mercy over us and poor Isaac and Bill. Their story is as sweet as can be but not without some villain and his mischievous plan.

This suspense part is pretty well-done. I like the fact that the crimes in the books are somewhat connected while still, being different and complied in one book.

Nick and Jamie are still my favourite couple of this series but Isaac and Bill's story is as good as a wanted it to be. Can't wait for the next book in this series.

So, so good, Bill and Isaac's romance is a triumph

I absolutely adore Jordan's Hexworld series, the world building is beyond brilliant, mixing New York at the turn of the 20th century with Victorian Steampunk.

Isaac has been a part of the world since Tom and Cicero joined forces to help rescue him in book one and Bill Quigley has been involved in his role as honest copper since then too.

The slow burn tension between them has been building up throughout this series of intertwined books until it finally bursts into life in Hexhunter.

And Lordy did it burst, this is one of the sexiest in the series and Isaac really pushed Bill to the edge, it was hot and emotionally charged.

I loved seeing all our previous pairs on hand in this one as the case really does need a whole army of helping hands as the tensions rack up higher and higher towards the big pay off.

As ever in this series Jordan pulls in 'real' world mythology and actual news events to anchor in her mysteries, this one focuses on the excavations at Knossos which began in 1900 as well as Crete's Labyrinth of the Minotaur legend and children being abducted.

I've no idea who is coming up next but I'd love to see Sionn find a witch who loves him with their whole heart.

For years Isaac has been pining after Detective Bill Quigley. But if there is one thing that Isaac knows, it is that he doesn’t deserve the kind-hearted man. After all, what on earth would compel someone so nice and gentle to bind themselves to a familiar whose magic seems set on linking to the worst that humanity has to offer. No…Isaac is tainted and not for the likes of Bill Quigley. It’s for the best, really.

Then Isaac gets tasked to help Bill out on an investigation into the murder of a nun at a local orphanage and things quickly get out of control. Not only does the investigation get more grim the deeper they dive into the case, but Isaac has to fight tooth and claw against his attraction to the man. Well…maybe not claw, seeing as how Isaac refuses to shift into his canine self in a probably vain hope that doing so will eventually rid him of his horrible nature. He might not have a choice for long, though, as the case reveals a deadly and dark secret that could very well spell the end of life as all familiars know it.

I can’t be the only one who was breathlessly awaiting this story since Isaac and Bill showed up. Long have we pined for their story to finally come to page, and well…the wait is over and boy was it worth it. These two are incredibly magnetic, and while Isaac spends a bit more time then my heart can take resisting the pull towards Bill, when they finally snap together you can’t help but feel there will never be a way to pry the two apart. It was all things delicious and sweet.

But not to be outdone, the mystery once again takes us back into the dark depths of the plots against familiars and their freedom, making sure that we are never too comfortable or safe. Plots are afoot, and secrets–both big and small–leak out into the daylight to cause all sorts of wonderful problems. I sure as hell wouldn’t want to trip over these secrets in the dead of night, but cosying up to them under a warm blanket (with all the lights on) is a great way to pass an evening. Also…Jordan L. Hawk is very good at writing a very specific type of “bad guy,” I’ve come to notice. Even with only a few words they are able to make them properly terrifying.

…and now I want to go reread Widdershins.

But before I go, let me just say that I thoroughly enjoyed this latest addition to the Hexworld series and am already placing my bets on who might appear as a main character in the next one. Because they damn well deserve some happily ever after thrown their way after this book.

So, yeah. Lots of fun. Worth the wait. One hell of a romance. And don’t read in the dark. That about covers it.

What are you waiting for? Go forth and grab a copy today!

Hexworld’s pre-turn of the 20th century, alternate New York City bears all the distinctions of Jordan L. Hawk’s world building acumen and fertile imagination. This is a city where magic flows freely and yet feels as though it still could have existed, owing to the abundance of ambient qualities and other small but significant details the author intermingles with the narrative to ground readers in the setting. The overall tone of this book is different from the others in the series, however, and necessarily so. Elements of Hexhunter needed to stand on their own, in juxtaposition to the other witch/familiar couples, because the complexion of Isaac and policeman Bill Quigley’s relationship, and their connection to each other, is unique to them.

It’s been two years since Isaac, the Mastiff familiar, was rescued from a witch who’d force bonded with him and was using Isaac’s magic for nefarious purposes. Before that bitter misfortune, however, Isaac was violently rejected by the witch to whom his familiar magic called. For two years, Isaac has been traumatized by his memories and has rejected his familiar aspect out of fear and self-recrimination. But now the past has come back for a visit, a past which impacts both Isaac and the man he pines for, and the revelations upon its return will either end Isaac and Bill’s chances, forever, or it will draw them to each other and spare them from a life of loneliness for which they both feel destined.

Flawed characters who are well-written without resorting to exaggeration and are sympathetic without relying on a blatant and/or over-the-top attempt to manipulate my emotions will always pull me into their story (if their story is one I want to hear). Jordan L. Hawk seems to excel at developing and delivering those sorts of characters, offering them warmth, charm, humor, integrity, and complete personalities to compete with and overcome the prolific mayhem that ensues in their paranormal realms. Bill and Isaac don’t have an easy go of it in Hexhunter. They are each carrying the weight of their own misfortunes on their shoulders, neither believing he is worthy of the sort of love he wants so desperately but doubts he can ever have with the other. Family—or, in Bill’s case, what passes for it—along with betrayal and abuse at the hands of others, influence Bill’s and Isaac’s reticence as well as their resilience.

Not all pairings are romantic and/or soul-encompassing in this series, some are merely practical, so the bonding aspect of Hexworld and the way it defies the more common fated mate trope in speculative fiction is as exclusive to each bonded witch and familiar as is their magical strengths. The difference in this novel, a much appreciated one, is how Bill and Isaac’s relationship contrasts with the others. Bill tested so low for witch potential as to be nearly mundane and is why he’s a copper with the non-magical police. That his own magic isn’t impressive, and that Bill’s magic didn’t call to Isaac’s in the usual way, made their choosing to be together all the more romantic for it.

I’ve been waiting for this book for what feels like forever. Not that I’m complaining. Everything in good time is the quintessence of a Jordan L. Hawk series, after all. There’s always a long arc, and Hawk always teases it out to perfection. Bill and Isaac working together wasn’t unexpected to fans of Hexworld. What was unexpected is the case to which they were assigned and everything it took for them, Isaac especially, to follow the trail of a crime that begins with murder and is perpetuating horrors upon missing children. The climactic scene, as always, is written to maximum effect and yet it expended minimum effort on my part to engage my imagination and set my adrenaline spiking.

This series arc is not complete yet, there is still a powerful criminal mastermind to thwart, so hang on. It's not the end but merely the beginning of more to come.

Ever since Bill Quigley was introduced as Tom's copper best friend in Hexbreaker, I—and I suspected a great deal of other readers—have been waiting for this book. Bill has been a player in every major novel of the Hexworld series. He's been ready to put his well being and career on the line every time to help the Metropolitan Witch Police and their familiar counterparts, but his personal life has always remained elusive. Even when it became clear throughout the overarching plot that Bill had developed feelings toward Isaac, Cicero's best friend who had been kidnapped and horribly abused in Hexbreaker, nothing ever progressed between the two. They kept one another at arm's length.

Until now.

As it turns out, Bill has been in love with Isaac for two years. But because of the trauma Isaac has experienced, his refusal to shift, and even the way he visibly cringes in fear, Bill has done nothing to pursue the sweet familiar. And it's become clear at this point, whatever chance Bill may have once upon a time had, he's lost it. It's been too long between them, and if Isaac were to develop any feelings for Bill, surely it'd have happened at this point?

I love Bill as a leading character because he's very much an Everyday Man and is able to be a practical counterbalance to the rest of the cast. He doesn't have rare and powerful magic like Tom, nor is he a millionaire like Owen. He's not an ex-solider like Jamie... he's just a regular New York detective, not even a great one at that, whose boss dislikes him, whose love life is nothing more than his own hand in an empty bed, whose schooling isn't even that good, as subtle moments throughout the book suggest by Bill's messy penmanship and lack of understanding toward certain, famous myths and stories. But what makes Bill remarkable is his humbleness. He's a down to earth good man, looking to do the right thing in a tough world, and whose capacity to respect and listen to a significant other is a rare commodity to be cherished.

And that is the sort of person Isaac deserves to have at his side. Isaac, like Bill, has been seen throughout the plot. He's been through the meat grinder, having been brutalized by the witch his magic desired to bond with, kidnapped, siphoned of his magic until it nearly killed him, and now that he's returned to the safety of the MWP, the clock is ticking for him to bond. Isaac has been unable to shift to his dog form—the magic feels wrong. Tainted. The reason his life has been flipped upside down. He honestly wants to forget that part of himself and be stuck in human form forever. But there is a connection between him and Bill, a gentle patience, love, persistence, and belief that Isaac is none of these things. That he is a survivor. Strong. Capable of love. And deserving of life.

Add to this uncertain back and forth between our heroes, nearly a dozen orphans of familiar potential have gone missing, a nun has been murdered, and previous plots to control and manipulate the familiar population have not been forgotten.

Every single book that Jordan L. Hawk writes is a damn masterpiece of character studies, romance, and vivid imagination beyond the potential of most people. I've said it in every review and I'll say it again: read the Hexworld series. Read it again and again, and again for good measure.

Ever since I read the first book Hexbreaker, I'm looking forward to Isaac and Bill's pairing and Hexhunter didn't disappoint. Isaac is the character that seems to suffer the most in the series, first he was rejected and hurt by his fated witch, then subsequently forced bonded with a scumbag. To say Isaac is not looking forward to any relationship at all is an understatement. He don't even want to shift into his dog form. However, Bill is ever the patient man and waited for Isaac all these years. To learn about their mutual pining over each other gave me all the feels. The romance aspect is well worth the wait for this couple. I always have a soft spot for Isaac due to his past and to finally see him finding a lover who didn't care for his magic is most satisfying.

As usual, the suspense is nerve wreckingly good. We have a case of murdered nun and missing children and the subsequent horror that ensued. All the previous characters banded together to solve the mystery with Bill and Isaac leading the investigation. Also the series won't feel complete without some humor input from our dear Cicero.

We met Isaac in book 1 as Cicero’s best, very troubled friend. And I was looking forward to read his story.

What I really liked here:
.) There is a different concept to the romance, as Bill is not Isaac’s witch. On the contrary, Isaac’s witch abused him and tried to kill him. Not to mention all the horror he went through in book 1 after his kidnapping.

.) Isaac’s traumatic past has left him resenting his magic and his familiar self, and with a lot of self-contempt and hopelessness. His journey to accepting his past and embracing his magic again is very well done.

.) Bill is a total sweetheart of a guy. Simple with a high moral compass and a huge heart ready to care for Isaac.

.) Meeting all the couples from the previous books was awesome. I was grateful I had read them all, otherwise I might have struggled to understand what was going on.

What left me a little off-keel:
.) I expected the main plot arc to be resolved, but it wasn’t. While the current case is well dealt with, the main operators, those who stir up trouble and horrors against familiars again and again are still at large. One of our guys mentioned something like ‘one day we’ll get them’, but I’m not sure what that entails. Will there be more books or is that it?

I certainly would not say no to more! I would love to see familiars live in a more welcoming world and those evil masterminds brought to justice.

A great, very entertaining series.

We have Bill Quigley and Isaac story!! I've wanted to read their story for a while now, and I'm so happy that it finally happened. Bill is such a DARLING -- I love his kindhearted soul. He's been crushing hard on Isaac since the first time, but Isaac standoffish behavior makes Bill thinks that Isaac doesn't like him. Isaac, on the other hand, thinks that he's broken, which is why he doesn't want to give in to his feeling towards the Detective.

I'm happy that it doesn't take long for Bill and Isaac to acknowledge their feeling to one another. I am also happy that when Bill finds out about the villain (), he doesn't keep it a secret for long. Yes, for communication ^^.

The rest of the book is dealing with their case -- missing children and murdered nun -- as well as Isaac's refusal to use his animal form.

All in all, a satisfying read for our Bill and Isaac :)

A bit shell shocked. But in an absolutely wonderful way.

Jordan L Hawk has given their readers perhaps the darkest installment in the Hexworld series and it is glorious. Loss and hope and redemption. Rising to the challenge and fighting for the light that we often lose sight of.

The author doesn’t shy away from dragging their characters (or readers) into those blackened moments of utter despair but their is always those tiny, glinting sparkles that reflect some unseen light. Hawk makes us - and their characters work for it but it’s there. We just have to survive the exhilarating ride.

5 stars and I highly recommend this series

In this alternate NYC of the year 1900 the situation for familiars didn't change since we left Hexslayer. They are still in danger of force bonding by power hungry witches and treated like something more animal than human by the normal citizens. Nobody knows that better than Isaac who was nearly drained from his magic by an evil witch and was rescued nearly too late during the events of Hexbreaker. On the outside he survived and a lot of people suppose he's strong again and mostly processed those experience but on the inside he still suffers from that trauma, believes his magic and himself tainted and unlovable. He even avoids to change into his mastiff form.

In the case of a killed nun and missing orphans he meets Bill Quigley again who has his own reasons to doubt that someone will choose him and it takes a lot of time for those 2 to see what's right in front of them. It didn't feel fabricated and I was able to believe the reasons for their temporary blindness and it was such a sweet moment when they recognized what they couldn't believe. Of course shortly after the case is getting more ugly and it needs the combined power of the witch/familiar group to solve it and Isaac has to make a decision.

For me the romance and the action part was much better balanced than in the last book and I didn't want this book to end, not only because of Isaak and Bill but also to see more of that unlikely friendship between Isaak and Cicero, to see what becomes of that witch/familiar group with the new addition of Owen's family. I really appreciate that Jordan L. Hawk found a way to include the MC's of the previous books without assigning them only cameo roles - although I wouldn't mind to check also on Roland again but that's not likely but I hope we see more of Valentine or Nathan ... that world it too rich to stop.

A Joyfully Jay review.

Hexhunter is the fourth novel in Jordan L. Hawk’s fantastic Hexworld series. I feel like the further we go with this series, the more interesting and developed the world building becomes. I just love this world of witches and familiars and think Hawk is doing a fabulous job creating some really interesting series arcs, while still creating wonderful pairings and giving great romantic stories as well.

In Hexhunter, we get Bill and Isaac’s story. Each of these men have been prominent side characters throughout the series. While I think you could manage this one alone, the story will be much richer if you are at least familiar with Hexbreaker, as that is where we learn more about Isaac’s kidnapping. Here we are two years past those events and we can see that they are still taking their toll on Isaac. I loved seeing his journey to recovery here, both in accepting himself and his magic, as well as finding love with Bill.

I really enjoyed this couple. Isaac is so heartbroken and broken. Bill's love is exactly what he needed to find the strength to make peace with and for himself. Bill doesn't "fix" him, but his support is important for Isaac. Bill has his own issues with self worth, though not as severe as Isaac's, and life has an interesting way of bringing their issues together so they both make peace and move on. I really liked how the personal aspects tied together. I'm getting a little more skeptical on all the over all conspiracy theories that all just lead back to the ultimate bad guy. I don't know. It's just like....I feel like they'd pick one plan and focus on it rather than have 4 that could be foiled. I don't know. It's getting a little incredulous for me, but I still read the books because i enjoy the world that's been built and I always enjoy the couples. The rest is just extra.

Hexhunter (Hexworld 4)
BY Jordan L. Hawk
Published by the author, 2019
Five stars

I’m going to give this five stars, because I love the series and because this installment of Hawk’s Hexworld adventure lives up to the previous three. It made my heart pound, it brought tears to my eyes, and it created a world that lives up to my own imagination and real-world knowledge. This remarkable world, recognizably the turn-of-the-century New York where Teddy Roosevelt and the Gilded Age reign, is also a world where a substantial percentage of the population have magic – are witches – and another parallel group are familiars, animal shifters essential to the witches to tap into their powers. The world is run by technology, but also by magic in the form of hexes, which can do anything from prevent rising damp to healing bones.

Bill Quigley and Isaac have known each other for years – since Isaac was rescued from a horrific situation in which his magic was being stripped to fuel blood hexes. The murder of a nun at an orphanage brings Bill back into the MWP (Metropolitan Witch Police) from the regular police force. He once again has to work with Isaac, whom he’s loved secretly since the last time they met. What Bill doesn’t know is that Isaac’s damage runs so deep that he’s decided to stop transforming into a mastiff entirely, hoping that he’ll lose all of the awful memories along with his animal identity.

Isaac’s worst fears are realized when it looks like he and Bill are once again on the trail of someone powerful who is abusing magic and intent on the subjugation of famliars. Hawk is clever in her laying out the prejudices of both the magic and non-magic world against familiars. The echo of racism and ethnic prejudice is clear – in a world where same-sex relationships do not seem to be the target of the kind of negative reaction that prevailed in our world 120 years ago. The human drive toward greed and bigotry is ever-present, and the good witches of the MWP and their familiars are duty-bound to set it right.

The characters – drawn from previous chapters in the story—and the setting are palpable, and the increasingly tense plot arc pushes the story to a fever pitch. The power of Bill and Isaac’s love for each other is a lynchpin, if only Isaac can set aside his pain to save others.

Detective Bill Quigley first met Isaac, the mastiff familiar, the night Isaac was rescued from the witch who kidnapped and tormented him to force his magic for illegal uses. He’s head over heels for the quiet young man who works for MWP (Metropolitan Witch Police) but Isaac doesn’t seem to return his regard. In fact, Isaac seems quiet and withdrawn most of the time; definitely not someone who’d appreciate Bill’s advances. So when Sionn, the owl familiar who works with Isaac, asks Bill out, he accepts and it seems to be with Isaac’s blessing.

But Isaac does indeed like Bill—he just feels inadequate and worries that his magic is tarnished after what happened. Plus, the witch Isaac’s familiar is attracted to doesn’t want him, and Isaac knows Bill only has a little magic and likely wouldn’t be interested in someone with damaged magic like his.

There’s plenty of time for a slow-burn attraction in this story, and that’s what happens. Just when it seems Bill might settle for Sionn in an effort to forget Isaac, an attempt is made on their lives and Isaac and Bill are thrown together in painful circumstances. They can’t deny their attraction after that and that day begins a slow return of Isaac’s confidence and starts their journey to a lasting relationship. Along the way there’s plenty of adventure and a dastardly scheme involving kidnapping children and experimenting with hexes to tailor the form the adult familiar takes so that the wealthy witches can have what they want. Add to that, a surprise in the form of Bill’s half brother and the story has so much to offer that readers, like me, will get lost in the pleasure of this author’s highly creative and imaginative mysteries.

I am looking forward to much more in this wonderful hex world and most definitely I’m hoping Sionn gets his own book. That little owl has a lot to offer! I highly recommend this story and this series to readers of paranormal and mystery MM romance.

Still Great!

I don’t have much new to say about this series. After 4 novel-length installments and 3 novellas/stories, I still love this series. I love the later 19th Century NYC setting, and the exploits and crime-solving of the NY MWP (Metropolitan Witch Police) staffed by witches and their animal-shifter familiars who enhance the magical powers of said witches. There is real detective/crime-solving activity, love story, bad guys and rivalry with the “other” police.

FYI, the introductory 53-page story/novella, (# .05) The 13th Hex is $.99 and (#1) the first novel, 240-page Hexhunter is also $.99 both right now in the US kindle store.

Isaac, a mastiff familiar, and detective Bill Quigley have loved each since they first met. but think they are too broken to be loved. When children are missing and in danger they have to step it up and work together even if it means their secrets are exposed. What start with a murdered nun become another plot to take over the city/world with weird ancient hexes and help from old friends who are featured in their own stories in this series.

Love this series!! A great buddy read with the girls. Glad Isaac found his dog again and managed to find his bondmate. It took awhile for our two damaged souls to work things out but thankfully love was born out of tragedy. Another fantastic book in the series that introduced new characters that one hopes mean another book!!

Every book in this series has been better than the last. This one has an intriguing slow-burn plot and a lovely slow-burn romance. Isaac and Bill are deeply in love before anything happens between them, and that doesn't change at any point. Misunderstandings have been important in the romance plots in this series before, but not in this book. These two are honest with each other at every point, and I loved their relationship. They're both very patient and respectful, which is exactly what they both need.

So, I know the witch/familiar bond is not necessarily romantic or sexual, but the witches and familiars who found each other in the previous books in this series have all been fated pairs, and they've fallen in love with each other. However, Isaac and Bill aren't magically destined to be together. For a few years, I've been wanting to read a book exactly like this one: a romance set in a universe with fated pairings, in which people find happiness with someone else. I like soulbonding and everything like that, but I was really curious about how an author would handle a change to the concept. I thought that aspect of this book worked beautifully. It became all about Isaac making his own choices, in several ways, which was very satisfying to see.

One of Hawk's biggest strengths as a writer is his excellent characterizations; previous main characters, as well as a few side characters, play important roles here that fit with what we've previously seen from them. I really liked seeing the team all together, fighting evil. I also liked the focus on the close friendships between Isaac and Cicero and between Bill and Tom.

I enjoyed this book a lot and I look forward to the next installment of the series. I don't know who it will be about - maybe Nathan, or Sionn, or the reporter. I'm excited to find out.

I loved being back in this world. Bill finally gets it together with Isaac. I loved the fact that although this was their story, there were plenty of appearances by the other characters in the series.
This time the boys are teying to find orphans who had been taken to make into familiars.
Hoping there will be more from this world soon.

God, this book was beautiful.
I've been waiting for Isaac's story ever since he appeared in Hexbreaker and dear lord was it worth it. It was exactly what I hoped for for these two absolute sweethearts. It was a tale of love, honesty and reclamation; reclamation of your body and soul after years of abuse, reclamation of choice, reclamation of your life. When Isaac at one point says , I burst into tears in public.

The overall mystery of the series continues, together with more and more fucked up body horror! Seriously what! Can the villains just Stop???? Hey villains?? Hey villains??????? Just stop it. Please.

I also loved that Isaac seems to be the same ethnic group as I am!! My son!!!! My beautiful strong baby!!!!! I love him so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do so love this series. This was no exception. Isaac and Bill were adorable together. I loved that Bill is so patient with Isaac and how he never wanted to push the familiar into anything he wasn't comfortable with. Of course Isaac's past is crazy and he's been through so much. You can't help but wish happiness for him and hope that he learns to love himself again. None of what happened to him was his fault. They were adorably cute together once they admitted their attraction to one another.

I really enjoy the world in this series as well and this was another great installment with the ever increasingly complex mystery of the big bad out their that has it out for witches and their familiars. I liked the little bit of mythology thrown into this story as well. I always enjoyed the Minotaur stories and this was an interesting spin on it.

There hasn't been a story yet in this series that I haven't enjoyed. Our expanding group of friends is such a fantastic dynamic group and each one of the characters keeps me interested.

This was an explosion of tension and anticipation...I saw stars!
Isaac and Bill are not strangers in this series and I've been drooling for their story for several hundred pages. I don't think Hawk could have done any better...it was everything I had hoped for and more. I was impressed with the thickening plot and the adrenaline kept me teetering on the edge of my seat.
It was exciting and passion-fueled at the same time.
I was thrilled previous couples all played a part, creating a marvelous finale. Well, if there happened to be any more books in this series, I'll be nudging myself towards the start of the line!

*4.5 stellar stars*

Isaac and Bill! A bit predictable but so happy to finally see them get their HEA.
