Josephine Hannah is Hollywood’s new darling, but despite the outgoing, confident women she plays on screen, she never knows what to say or how to act in real life. When a sprained ankle brings a handsome paramedic to her rescue, she wishes more than ever that she had a pre-written script to get her through life—or at least through her on-location filming in Anchorage.

Dan Rockwell fights fires and saves lives on the regular. Even though he has nothing in common with the distressed starlet he was sent downtown to rescue, he can’t resist the pull to find the real woman that’s hiding beneath the designer labels, paid endorsements, and scripted performances.

Problem is Jo’s only in town for a temporary job; she doesn’t date, and she wouldn’t wish the swarm of paparazzi that buzz around her on anyone. Dan and Jo’s hearts may beat wildly in each other’s company, but could their two very different lives ever really sync up? Will either be willing to risk the career they’ve worked so hard for in the name of love?

Melissa Storm is a New York Times and multiple USA Today bestselling author of Women’s Fiction, Inspirational Romance, and Cozy Mysteries.

Despite an intense, lifelong desire to tell stories for a living, Melissa was “too pragmatic” to choose English as a major in college. Instead, she obtained her master’s degree in Sociology & Survey Methodology—then went straight back to slinging words a year after graduation anyway.

She loves books so much, in fact, that she married fellow author Falcon Storm. Between the two of them, there are always plenty of imaginative, awe-inspiring stories to share. Melissa and Falcon also run a number of book-related businesses together, including LitRing, Sweet Promise Press, Novel Publicity, Your Author Engine, and the Author Site.

When she's not reading, writing, or child-rearing, Melissa spends time relaxing at her home in the Michigan woods, where she is kept company by a seemingly unending quantity of dogs and two very demanding Maine Coon rescues. She also writes under the names of Molly Fitz and Mila Riggs.

Beautiful love story about a courageous firefighter and a shy movie star. Melissa Storm admits at the end that it is based on her own family. There are firefighters and loads of family members there. And I also recognized some things she used in her books from other series (the Memory Ranch and Sled Dogs series). I like it that everything is interwoven. Like a big, warm blanket. Her stories just feel like that - just add the warm cocoa and you're all set...

Life is not like the movies. In the real world happy endings are not easily acquired, they're hard work. Storm takes readers behind the glitter with her special brand of heartache and heartwarming. Must Love Movie Star is one woman's determination to flip the script and learn to exist outside the fantasy. Jo is an ace when it comes to remembering her lines, but following her heart is a different matter. When her next film challenges her survival instincts on and off the set, she finds a hero in Dan. Dan is just what she needs to help her find her voice outside of the Hollywood glitz, but can their ordinary love survive the celebrity of her life? Love is an adventure worth taking with Melissa Storm at the wheel.

MUST LOVE MOVIE STAR is the ninth release in the Alaska Sunrise series. Each will stand on its own, but all are wonderful.

It is a reality that most in the spotlight are actually shy and introverted in real life. They’ll be larger than life while the camera is rolling and the director is giving them their cues, but on their own, they’ll be the wallflower. This is why the mosquitos are so thick and relentless, chasing them, and often misquoting them. Never forget, it was the paparazzi that caused the crash that killed Princess Diana. Therefore - to my mind- Dan Rockwell is a hero. He is a fireman (like my brother and grandfather), but he is also the man who has whisked Jo away from the paparazzi several times. Until… (Well, I’m not going to give any spoilers).

I loved this sweet, clean romance. It is a sweet reminder to be yourself always. It was full of warmth in the middle of a cold Alaskan visit. It is a beautiful tribute of romance to all of the men (and women) who are, have been, or will serve as firefighters and EMTs. They are the ones who rush in when the rest of us run away. Dan is the epitome of those brave men, ready to show that he will do what it takes.

It’s a shame that this is now only available as part of the box set. I hope it will eventually be re-released as a stand-alone.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

I'm not a big celebrity person myself but I always feel bad for them when it comes to the paparazzi. It would be so frustrating to be followed all the time wherever you go and also be misquoted when you talk or have what you do be twisted into something false. This is what happens to movie star, Josephine Hannah. She's a sincerely nice person and that's also the persona that comes across in her "celebrity" life. However, the paparazzi is always trying to "catch" her in another way so they can tear down that persona and show her in a seedier way and show she not really that nice. When she is in Alaska filming a movie, she hurts her ankle and requires medical attention from a paramedic/firefighter named Dan Rockwell. He knows who she is but treats her the same as any other person and she likes that. However, when they begin to "date" a little bit, the paparazzi twist it around and turn it into something negative. Josephine decides she must let Dan go to keep him out of her lifestyle. However, circumstances change and Josephine must make some decisions. I like the fact that this story showed how celebrities and other famous people have to deal with things like this and it must be hard on their lives and their relationships! A good story!

Must Love Movie Star is a sweet romance between a famous movie star, Josephine Hannah, on location in Alaska and a local Anchorage firefighter/EMT, Dan Rockwell. The two try to set aside their social differences to take a chance at having a ‘normal’ romantic relationship. But someone takes secret photos and the firestorm of public gossip drives them apart.

I appreciated that the author spotlighted the evils of the paparazzi and social media gossip which we see all too often. I also enjoyed the Author’s Note with tributes to her family members as models for her characters.

I received a free advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my honest review and I recommend this book.

Josephine donning a disguise just to get a cup of coffee. Walking around the town, till a heel caught, and down she went, with an ambulance being called. Dan thinking too early in season for slip and fall accidents, especially when he seen a young women. Getting her picked up the glasses feel, and he called her by name. Har latest movie was filmed here.Attending a masquerade ball for a friend , they once again meet.He wants to know the real person, not this guarded person, afraid to speak or do what she wants.
Away to get away, he whisks to a mountain top, while everyone in town is busy with the trick and treaters. Memories are made there on the mountain. Beautiful story of wanting to be herself, but where can she.

Josephine is an actress who plays the "girl next door" in her movies. She detests the paparazzi who won't give her a moments peace. They are trying to shatter her "good girl" image. She refers to them as mosquitoes (for good reason). She goes to Anchorage for a film role. Dan is a firefighter/paramedic who is called when Josephine falls on the sidewalk in downtown Anchorage. Dan wants to get to know Josephine better, but she knows with her life and the mosquitoes buzzing around her constantly, it can go no where. Will Dan and Josephine find their happily ever after? While this is a good book, it has more heat than I am use to from this author.

MUST LOVE MOVIE STAR is a sweet fun read by my favorite Author, Melissa Storm! Josephine Hannah is on location in Alaska working on her new movie. Constantly trying to hide out from the “mosquitos” (paparazzi) has Josephine shying away even from the friendly locals. While trying to get away she trips and hurts her ankle. Dan Rockwell is a paramedic and firefighter that responds to Josephine’s call. An unlikely couple that has a lot of obstacles to overcome to find their love. I loved this book!

Must Love Movie Star by Melissa Storm is a short sweet story. Dan Rockwell is a paramedic/firefighter in Anchorage who is called to a scene where Jo-Han fell and twisted her ankle. Jo-Han (Josephine) a major film star in disguise who is filming a movie in Anchorage was trying to enjoy walking around without the press following her when she fell. Dan and Josephine are attracted to each other but they live in two different world's. Must Love Movie Star is a enjoyable romantic read and I recommend reading this book. Josefine is a very famous actress who hates paparazzi or “mosquitoes” as she calls them. She can’t understand why people can be so rude and aggressive toward her when they write in the media.
Dan is a paramedic and a firefighter. He is a fan of Josefine, and he is the only one to recognize her under her disguise.
A sweet and clean story about the lack of privacy of famous people. Luckily for Josefine, she finds a way to forget about it in the love of a wonderful man.

We aren’t promised anything in this life, and I feel like Josephine and Dan’s story is all about making the most of the opportunities given to each of us. This book is filled with sweet, tender moments between the pair, even when they’re trying to escape the invasive entertainment media. I loved that we got cameo appearances from some of the other Rockfords, but I’m distressed knowing that this is currently the end of the series.

I loved this! A movie star trying to hide in plain sight meets a handsome paramedic / fighter fighter. Is it love at first sight? Well it was definitely attraction at first sight and although our paramedic Dan recognises Josephine, he helps her escape the paparazzi! Future bump into’s and you start a lovely romance but can anything become of it or will Josephine just up and leave once the movie is done? It’s a wonderful read with wonderful characters and this is a series I have very much enjoyed.

This is the 9th book in this amazing series, and this is Jo and Dan’s story. Dan is a firefighter and EMT, while Jo is a Hollywood star, who is shy and vulnerable. When Jo sprains her ankle while working, it is Dan who comes to her rescue, and they are instantly drawn to each other. Will these two get a chance of being together? This is a beautifully written story which is sweet, with romance, family, friendships, emotions, and love, which leads to an entertaining and poignant love story.

Must Love Movie Star (The Alaska Sunrise Romances Book 9)

It seems a little too 'fairy-story-like' for my liking, but nevertheless Must Love Movie Star, book 9 in the Alaska Sunrise Romances series is sure to be another winner for the prolific Melissa Storm who certainly knows what she's doing when it comes to spinning a modern morality tale - love will always find a way, could be the subtitle of this or any of the others in the series. Decide for yourself - it's a sweet snippet with an HEA.

I enjoyed this quick, sweet romance. Josephine Hannah excels at portraying outgoing, confident women on screen, but in real life she never knows what to say. Dan Rockwell fights fires and saves lives for a living. When he is sent to her rescue he sees the real woman and knows she is the one for him. Can they find a way to overcome the challenges between them? This was an entertaining book and I look forward to reading more books in The Alaska Sunrise Romances series.

Must Love Movie Star was another great read by Melissa Storm. This is book nine in The Alaska Sunrise Romances. Josephine is a Hollywood actress who goes to Alaska to film a movie. She may seem strong and confident, but in life she doesn't know what to do or say. She meets Dan, a paramedic, when she sprains her ankle. They feel a strong pull even though Jo is only in town temporarily and isn't sure that she wants to drag Dan into her crazy life. I loved reading Dan and Jo's story.

Melissa Storm is consistent in bringing stories that you want to keep reading. Yes, they have romance but they also have humor, a good story line, interesting characters and are well written. We all tend to forget the price that comes with fame. Dan Rockwell recognizes Josephine Hannah but allows her to remain unfound by the mosquitoes, aka paparazzi. Unfortunately all are not that kind. This was a fun book.

3.5 stars.

This short story flowed well, had likeable characters and showed the good and not so good of fame. Dan showed perseverance and determination in his pursuit of Jo, I did think he should have spoken to his cousin-in-law about the world he was willingly stepping in to as he was so optimistic that I did question if he really knew what to expect, kudos to him for not giving up on them though!.

Dare to Love

Jo-Han isn't allowing herself to be a person, just a persona. She's made herself a victim of her success. Can she let go of her fears of "mosquitoes" to let herself love? A delightful novella featuring a firefighter (must.love.heroes!). Oh, and LOTS of cookies if you've read any of the other novels in this series, but this tale stands on its own.

A great book! I liked the characters even though I sometimes felt Jo Han could be a little uppity at times. I really liked Dan he just seemed like the boy next door. I really like the fact the book is set in Alaska and the author treats you to places that are great attractions. A great romance between two people that have obstacles to over come.

A quick, fun, easy to read romance

What a sweet delightful read. This story is about a female "movie star", Jo Han, and a fire fighter/paramedic, Dan who loves in Alaska. Just a very sweet, clean, quick novella. A definite addition to good books from this author.

Mosquito nightmare is what Josephine calls the paparazzi because when they find her they swarm around her. They inflict pain with their untruths. Dan doesn't believe her about how awful they are & thinks a relationship with him will be different. When that proves false, will their budding romance crash & burn? This is a short read that ends this series.
