“Love is savage, love is blind, love is something they may not find…”
Once upon a time, there was a young girl who lived in a battered trailer, a girl from the wrong side of the tracks.
One day, she fell down The Elite Kings’ rabbit hole. Sucked into a dark vortex of lies, hate, and deceit, and spat out by money, glitz, and power.
There were things this little girl didn’t know, things she was about to find out and secrets that have been kept from her. Those secrets were guarded by the boys that were about to smash her world open and tear it all apart…
He may be a Malum, but she is a Stuprum, born into this world but neglected by the choice of her mother. Her eyes may not glisten with stars, but they roar with fire, and when she finally reaches her peak, it’s that same fire that will burn.
Them.
All.
Down.
My name is Tillie Stuprum, and my story is not like the rest.
Everything she thought she knew is a fabricated version of the truth. I’m Nate Riverside-Malum, the one your girl whispers about to her friends and whose initials are scratched down your back. Her story is not like the rest of them, because her story is dead.

Boys like Nate are lethal, because you fall for their charm, their jokes, and their beautiful faces. By the time you find yourself lost in their darkness with their demons lurking around you, it's too late. They suck you in with charisma and spit you out with sin. Image and video hosting by TinyPic
This review isn't going to make an ounce of sense, my brain is fried, I binge read this series up to this book and my thoughts and feelings are scattered all over the place. If you've not read this series, take my word for it, it's definitely worth a one click. It's dark, it's gritty, it's emotional, it's unputdownable, it's unique, it filthy, it's sexy, it's undoubtably one of my top series read.

How could anyone not want to get their grabby hands on this with a cover like that!! Favourite cover of 2019 so far!!

To comprehend any of this book it’s highly suggested (by myself) that you start from the beginning. It won’t take you long to get through them, they are quick, hooked as soon as you start them kind of reads and before you know it your onto the next book.

So as you’ve picked up from the ‘blurb’ this is Tillie’s story who we’ve previously been introduced to in ‘The Silver Swan’ she’s the girl that went missing, not once but twice, she gave birth to a little girl, what is termed another ‘A silver swan.’ This is her journey..

Tillie and Nate's journey was sad, heartbreaking, heartfelt, a toxic train wreck, the dark games, twists and turns, sexy and steamy. My heart broke for the things these two had to go through. I felt their pain, I wallowed in their despair, nothing prepared me for the heart ache that was going to come my way.

Regardless of what kind of monster you think I am, Tillie, and make no mistake, I can be a f#cking monster, I never let that side of me touch you. Ever. However, if I find out that you're hiding something from me, that side won't just touch you, it will annihilate you.

God this book and all its mushy feels, I feel like a yo-yo, up and down, loving Nate’s alpha a-hole attitude when it comes to Tillie, but hating him at the same time with how he treats her, then like a switch he’ll do something left field and damnit those feels just get in the way again. My heart is in turmoil.

This book sends you in such a tailspin, love, hate, anger, the crushed heart they all go hand in hand.

There I was waiting for the prompts to come at me, warning me that I'm getting to a part that I needed to prepare myself for, those never came, but what did come was a beating heart that was turned into a weeping mess of dust!! My heart was ripped out of my chest, the tears came freely, my heart just broke in half. No band aide was going to fix this mess I was left in.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This author has come such a long way, her use of words, her writing style, she slayed this series.

It’s a mad mad world!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: ❤️💙💜💛💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📔📙
World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: 👤👤👤👤👤

The setting: The Hamptons, New York

The Hero(s): Nate Riverside Malum – second to leader of the Elite Kings Club, Bishop and step-brother to Madison. Nate was quite the player until he met Tillie, but even after she disappeared he went back to his old antics. When he found out that she had hidden her pregnancy from him, he claimed that he hated her.

The heroine: Tillie Stuprum - best friends with Madison and Tatum. Tillie grew up with an abusive father and was taken captive by her crazy mother Katsia, who was the leader of the Lost Boys. Shortly after being rescued, she and baby Micaela are taken by her sister Peyton and Carter. Peyton is part of “The Circle” and she is planning to take down the Kings.

The Love Story: Tillie met Nate through Madison and they were together a very short time. They had a terrific weekend at the Kings cabin until she found some pictures of Katsia while pregnant with the due date on the back (just happened to be her birthday). She and Nate fought and she disappeared soon after that and Nate didn’t see her again until they showed up on the island to rescue her and the baby who was a silver swan, so was going to be killed.

I must say though, that I always liked Nate in the first three books, he is terrific with his step-sister Madison, but boy he can really be a mean boy when he wants to be. Though he would have to in order to be an Elite King. However, he sure can be cruel to women. I wasn’t liking him at all through most of this book.

I am not sure why men do this but they always say that they are upfront with women when they don’t want a relationship and they only want the benefits. However, they just don’t get it when the women catch feelings, like it absolves them from using women by being upfront about it. And maybe it does, since the girl knows what she is getting into and if she catches feelings it is her own fault. However, the guy should know that girls often catch feelings for a guy when they sleep together because being intimate often means more to girls. So I think that after a few times, a guy should just know this and at that point whether he is upfront about it or not, he is just a dawg…

And don’t even get me started on Tatum. I know she was with Nate first but there were no feelings involved and when he was with Tillie there were, so Tate completely broke girl code and that is unforgivable.

There were so many twists and turns in this book and some really unexpected things happened. It seems just when I thought the story was getting out of the Elite Kings world and into some more normal territory, it got crazy weird again. Then the hits just kept coming. It seems whenever Tillie and Nate start to look like they are having a decent relationship, something happens. Also Madison and Bishop from the first three books were fighting throughout this book, which was mysterious. And that ending was awesome.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I don’t even know what my emotions are doing right now??? I’ve oscillated from feeling all the feels to being dead and numb inside. I need wine, chocolate, and possibly therapy after finishing the mind f*ck of the century!

Amo Jones, what have you done to me!!!! Gah! Nate is my King!

I fell head over heels in love with him during the first 3 books. Getting to know him better in this book just reaffirmed those feelings. He’s a complete and total contradiction. A scary and menacing enemy at times, but sweet and amazing lover at others. He left me breathless and panting throughout much of the story. I might also have whiplash! Hahahahaha

If you love emotionally gripping stories that will take you on the wildest ride you’ve ever been on, and you can afford therapy after reading.....PREORDER THIS SHIT RIGHT NOW!!!

BETA READ - my mind is f***ing blown. I’m so messed up that I can’t form a thought other than I LOVED!! The kings are back my friends and better than ever! Amo is genuis at twisting my heart and mind in equal measure and delivering heroes that wreck my soul!

5 SECRETS ABOUND CROWNS

Just like the previous three books in the series, Malum will keep you riveted to its pages, trying to decipher any little clue, any piece of foreshadowing, and lost in the hate and love that is transitory between Nate and Tillie.

You think you know Nate. You don’t. Getting to see behind the playboy we met Bishop and Madison’s story, reveals this jokester playboy is just a mask. We see him struggle in this one with his emotions and with balancing his responsibilities as a king. Amo Jones even brings the softer side of Nate, and all I can say is hold onto your ovaries! You will melt into a pile of goo on the floor. Don’t worry, though, Amo still keeps that hard exterior that we love, the glimpses of the playboy, the moments that make readers all hot and bothered while simultaneously wanting to ring his neck. I simply loved the complexity of his character, and where she leaves him at the end of part 1 makes me a million times more excited for NATE part 2.

Tillie is the perfect counterpart to any king, but Nate is her true match in every way. Although, not from their world, in a sense, she fits in the dynamics of their complex kingdom like she is. She understands the nuisances and knows when to push and when to retreat. She truly is Nate’s queen with her subtle strength, acceptance of his devious ways, and intelligence. She is one of my favorite Amo heroines.

As with any Amo Jones book, there are moments where I wanted to yell at her and even Nate to act or say different things because these characters are often volatile, violent, free spirited with narcotics, alcohol, and sexuality, but Amo Jones keeps her characters consistent and this is the world they live in. They have unlimited power, no real consequences for their behavior, live their lives unchecked, and are in essence young. They aren’t your standard youth in any way, and I loved reading about all the moments of chaos and corruption.

Because there are so many layers and intricacies to her plots, Malum is complex. In order to get it all and not miss many of the hints and important puzzle pieces, readers need to examine every moment, which won’t be hard because once you start this book, you won’t be able to walk away! You’ll demand people read it so you can theorize, dissect every detail, relive that final scene, and lament over the wait! It will be delicious torture, just the way the Kings and Amo Jones like it.

This isn’t your traditional romance. It has its dark moments, its dangerous and impulsive characters, and its sexually free and often amoral scenes, but it is everything we love about Amo Jones and the world of the Elite Kings. This is the world that brought me to the words of Amo Jones. It will forever be a favorite, a must read, and highly recommended series. Her words consume my time and I get lost happily in the corruption and love of the KINGS.

It's easy to sit down and analyze a book like Malum and be left with nothing but more questions. You'll ask yourself where in the world are teens like this that are dealing with situations people twice their age wouldn't even be able to deal with. And why aren't any of them in therapy or just seriously effed in the head. But that's also the great thing about this book, and all of Amo Jones' writing. You get so sucked into the story that you never even bother to ask those types of questions, and honestly the answers don't matter. You just enjoy the story.

And holy hell, was this one mind-fuck of a story. From the very start we're taking on a twisted road full of secrets, sex, and lies. The heart-pounding thrill never lost it's momentum and I loved it. I was holding my breath with almost every turn of the page trying to prepare myself for what possibly could happen next yet Ms. Jones was able to shock me with each revelation.

I honestly don't even know what to say to describe this book other than that it is unlike any other and you're in for one crazy ride. You'll never know who to like and who to hate, or what's going to happen next, it will truly keep you on the edge of your seat. And just when you think you've figured it all out you'll be proven wrong and find yourself practically screaming for the answers. Basically, it's an insane story full of some batshit crazy characters, but you will love the thrill of it.

What in the actual frickity frack?! Amo, you know I love you, but whoa!! You tapped into some other ish with this one. To say I loved it would be dumbing it down. It wouldn't sufficiently tell you how I truly felt about this story. If you've met any of the Elite Kings before, you know that they're a heck of a lot more than meets the eye. So far, Nate takes the cake on the whole looks can be deceiving thing because NOTHING I've learned so far prepared me for the man featured in this book. NOTHING !!

Boys like Nate are lethal, because you fall for their charm, their jokes, and their beautiful faces. By the time you find yourself lost in their darkness with their demons lurking around you, it's too late. They suck you in with charisma and spit you out with sin.

Honestly, if you think you know something... if you think you have even the slightest hint of what you're in store for ... I'm here to tell you that you're dead wrong.

Tillie has returned and needs help getting her daughter back. The world she returns to is like a culture shock. Everything's different. Her man is with her friend and the game playing shows no sign of stopping. But Tillie is like a storm unto herself and like the eye of a hurricane, she's chaos. Whatever is happening between Nate and Tate is sure to sour and I can't wait to skip along amidst the ruins.

It goes against girl code, King or not.

YESSSS!! Why did I feel like this NEEDED to be said?

Hoes before bros!!

I'm in love with the way that Amo Jones crafted this Tillie character. She infused her with plenty of strength but wasn't afraid to give her many instances to show her vulnerabilities. Her thoughts were honest. She didn't lie to herself, which was a refreshing relief. She was damaged. She was sincere. She was outspoken. And she was desperate to be the best version of herself that she could be. She broke my heart and she gave me hope. What I appreciated the most about her was the way she pointed out what should have been obvious...

I never claimed to be mature or even sensible. My soul is deep and the deeper you are, the darker it gets. I'm reckless, impulsive, and I think I'm acquiring an anger problem.

Baby girl, feed that rage because I KNOW you're going to need it.

Hmmm... how do I warn you about what's to come? What to expect from this read? I have no clue. As I said, Nate was much more than I expected. At times I wanted to give him hugs and squeezes and gropes and tugs and fondles and... other times I wanted to smack him upside the head. He was brutal. He was cruel. He was sweet. He was broken. He was real. I can't even begin to imagine what's going to happen next because everything I thought I knew has just blown up in my face. It's like no one is truly safe (I already knew that) and I don't where the loyalties lie. What's real? People rise from the dead, the evil don't suffer enough, and love doesn't really have a chance to blossom. Reading this book gave me a ton of answers and now has me asking a ton more questions. I'm on edge waiting to get my hands on Malum: Part II.

WOOAH!! my heads in a bit of a tailspin at this moment starting with that finale.
This was a head Eff of epic proportions and I can honestly say I have no real clue bar the slightest sliver of what is actually occurring here.
Up is down, left is right and what's real is so not what you ever think.
Everything is a game that somebody's forgotten to sit down and explain the rules to and if you think the first three books were abounding with manipulations and agendas well this one is also just as evil and twisted as its predecessors.
Don't understand? well take a number and get in line because I'm stabbing in the dark also here.
Nate himself seems to have done a complete 160 in regards to his obvious personality here or at least in what he outwardly projects to others.
Gone is the jokey charmer from the first three books and in his place is well someone I don't actually recognise: on top of this certain thing that occur in this instalment quite obviously push him further down that path of no redemption totally changing Nate beyond all reckoning.
This book completely gutted me, chewing me up and spitting me out it was just so heart-wrenching and raw.
So this is actually the fourth book and whereas the first three, we follow Madison and Bishop "Malum" continues the story of Nate and Tillie who we were introduced to previously.
And as we have come to expect from this new-adult series the boundaries when it comes to the behaviour both sexual and otherwise of the individuals involved here seriously follow there own set of rules and regulations.
So this is again told from dual POV and you do really need to start at the beginning here with book one "The Silver Swan" otherwise you will most definitely be running around like a headless chicken trying to make head nor tail of things.
It's dark and brutal with more twists and turns than a fairground coaster, it's also safe to say once you embark on this crazy train you will be onboard for the duration so addictive is the ride ahead of you.
I am now gagging for Part two really can't wait I need it right now considering that corker of an ending.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Malum: Part 1 (Elite Kings Club #4).
All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Well this was an introduction to an effed up world. I’m still scratching my head over the fact that no one and I mean NO ONE is in therapy. How is that even possible?!! This was a new kind of crazy and even though I’m still somewhat confused, I like crazy.

Without having read the previous books in the series, I immediately went into this story with a bit of hesitation because I had no clue what this author’s writing style was like and if I was going to love it or not, and I didn’t want to feel like I was missing any crucial connections between any of these characters. I will admit that it started off rocky for me because i was not connected to these characters in the previous books but once I got into it, things started to fall into place for me.

Tillie and Nate’s story was complicated, tragic, and filled with more heartbreak and betrayal that anyone would ever like to have in their lifetime. They were young adults that faced trials that people twice their age would probably be crippled to and they tried their best to navigate it because it was a part of their world. There were some moments that I saw the light trying to peek through and I desperately wanted to hold on to that for the sake of their well being but when the dark moments overshadowed? I’ll say this again: How is no one in therapy?!

I’m really curious to see what’s going to happen in the next book because the stage has been set, players have shown their cards, and it’s about to go down. Now the question is, who will be standing?

“The devil furnishes his darkest souls with the prettiest smiles.”

MIND-BLOWING 🔥

I don't even know what to say right now...

My emotions are all over the place , I don't think I'll ever recover.

Nate was everything I've wished for since the first book in the series .

I've been waiting forever for this moment, and now I can definitely admit what I knew since Silver Swan :

NATE IS EVERYTHING AND MORE

”He’s something made from witchcraft. Everything alluring and evil, his magic and charisma like a stubborn magnetism that ultimately brings you to your death.”

In this book you really get to know the real Nate. You get to see what's behind his mask .

Finally the playboy showed his true emotions , but also some more sexy jokes ;)

Tillie is the real queen in this series. In this book you got to see her true colors , and I loved it.

She's strong , fierce , and so confident .

It's the only possible match to bring down Nate's ego .

"I never claimed to be mature or even sensible. My soul is deep and the deeper you are, the darker it gets. I'm reckless, impulsive, and I think I'm acquiring an anger problem."

Their chemistry was undeniable , and all that anger and resentment made some scenes ever hotter.

But what really kept me reading was a sense of curiosity for the complexity of Nate's character , you'll never really know what he'll do next . And that's a major turn on !

This plot was so twisted and filled with revelations that I couldn't put It down for a second.

And THAT END !!!

"When Nate bears his soul to you, he takes yours as collateral."

I won't spoiler anything but you should definitely get ready to be blown away !

I gave it 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I hope you'll enjoy it like I did

Enjoy

Gah!!! When Amo Jones drops on my kindle I know for a fact I'm in for a mindeff of epic proportions. That is exactly what she delivered with Malum. Nate and Tillie were deliciously dark, volatile and explosive romance #goals! I absolutely loved the intrigue, mystery and the mother of all bombs that was dropped. You never knew what was going to happen next which perfectly describes an Amo Jones novel to a T - she never pulls her punches and is one step ahead of the game with a knockout story.

Without giving away any spoilers, Malum continues the shocking storyline from the previous Elite Kings books but this time it is months later and Tillie is back with secrets galore. But she underestimated Nate's mission and determination to uncover her secrets threatening the Kings. But when his monster is unleashed, no one could anticipate the devastating consequences and what is coming for them all.

OMG this story was absolutely phenomenal. It was raw, intense, erotic and so damn emotional. There was no denying the chemistry and pull between Tillie and Nate. She brings out his crazy and the dark side in him that people rarely see. Without her in his life he is a powerful Elite King, but with her he is a beast with a demon inside him with an unparalleled darkness. She, likewise, is his perfect match as she is the only woman that can bring his animal to heel and the woman he would burn the whole world down for.

Overall, this story was twisted, emotional, riveting and consuming. Jones is an amazing storyteller who is a breath of fresh air as her stories are ALWAYS unique and compelling. I smirked, I cried and I raged as Malum took me across a wide gamut of emotions. This book is already one of the best books I've read this year as there were so many shocking moments that left me irrevocably changed. She proves time and time again that her words are a gift and we are lucky beneficiaries every time she releases a new story. Bravo! 6 stars! ~Ratula

Title: Malum: Part 1 (Elite King's Club)
Author: Amo Jones
Publication Date: March 12, 2019

safe_image.php

When you read an Amo Jones book, you know you are boarding a train that is wild, Dark and gritty.  Even knowing that, I will be the first to admit that it's going to take me a while to get over this book. So many emotions..one tiny heart.

So I am just going to give it to you straight, Malum is going to wreck your brain. Malum was insane!

The thing that surprised me most was how emotionally invested I was with the characters. Malum is everything I loved about the rest of the books from the series yet it's so different. It's unexpectedly emotional.

Nate and Tillie's connection is so intense. Their chemistry is the type that is additive , explosively sexual but also filled with so much hate. It's a formula for disaster, I tell you. But Nate and Tillie are just meant to be...it's kismet.
But it's kismet in the most unapologetically cruel, evil, dark, seductive way.

I have LOVED the Elite King's Club series for a while now but this has definitely become my absolute favourite!
Nate and Tillie's story is going to... Heck! I can't even write anymore. My Mind is officially blown away!
What an epic epic story!

Brace yourself for MALUM is going to RUIN YOU!

Wow, what did I just read. This story.. wow!

I liked Tillie and Nate's build up in the other books and was looking forward to reading their story.
Nate is hot, hot, hot. Can't deny that. Playboy to a T! He is bad and so unforgiving. He puts up a front and hides behind a mask made for an Elite King. I don't like him. He is a jerk and immature. There were a few spots where my heart fluttered a bit in the feels department for him, but those butterflies sank into the pit of stomach and burned to ash.

Tillie was so strong in this book, but the one thing she couldn't hold a resolve to was Nate. I don't know how he feel about her. His actions and words were so contradicting to one another. I think he **might** have some feelings for her, deep down in his blackened soul.

This book is dark. It's gritty. It's not all unicorns and rainbows. You will hurt, you will worry, you will say "what the heck" more times than not. You will ache for all of them. You will ask why. You will not be able to put your book or kindle down until you have devoured this story!

I don't get what's going on with Madison.. She was such an intricate thread woven into the Elite's world through 3 books, but this book made it seem like she was literally an outsider and only a spectator. Look good, but don't talk.

That ending --- way to make my heart hate Nate even more.

I feel like I totally rambled through this.. I probably did. It just goes to show --that IS how my emotions are after reading this story lol.

I'm so freaking emotionally drained that I can't find the right words to describe this book... My head and heart are completely messed up...

I thought I knew what to expect from Amo Jones. Well... The author decided to prove to me that I was wrong. What is MALUM for me? One big emotional surprise. And even though I feel like I'm going to bleed out right now I have to bow down to Amo... Because in creating this story, the author has outdone herself, and the hole she left in my heart can’t be quickly patched.

MALUM is the story of Tillie Stuprum and Nate Riverside-Malum. But this is not a love story. It's chaos. A whirlwind of emotions, mysteries, darkness and lust. The main characters prove to us that we only thought we knew them. Each page reveals new layers, both in terms of characters and the story around which the entire plot revolves. Every twist and turn is unexpected and deprives of breath. During the reading I was an emotional wreck and the fact that my e-reader is still in one piece is a miracle. Because I wanted to smash it against the wall a couple of times. Nothing in this book was as I expected.

Although Nate always seemed to me the most laid-back member of The Elite Kings, he’s also the most lethal. And even when for the most of the book I wanted to slap him and spit in his face, I can’t deny that he also aroused in me the most primitive instincts that made me want to climb him like a tree and use him in all possible ways. Even with the knowledge that the fallout will be deplorable.

Tillie in turn is my favorite heroine from Amo. She’s strong and intelligent. She knows well how to behave in a given situation. She’s the perfect Queen for the King. Although her life is not as privileged as in the case of the rest of the characters in the series, I’m sure that she’ll manage in every situation. I can’t wait for the next part in which I’ll be able to get to know her further actions.

I can’t decide whether Amo deserves bow down or a standing ovation. One thing is certain - MALUM is the best work she has created so far. After reading this story, life will never be the same. Fasten your seatbelts and take a Valium because you’re in for the most insane and emotional ride in your life!

Still no answers with the main plot points. Tillie and Nate turned into being exact replicas of Bishop and Madison and totally deviated from their characters from the previous books in this series.... And these are just the tip of the iceberg with the amount of issues I had with this book, which I'll get into later when I post my full review.

(1.15) trainwreck

tillie kept repeating ‘i’m not madison’ really gets old. yes bitch we know, we get it, you’re not her, you’re badass blahblahblah. (madi suck anyway) and the ‘queen’ thing? really?

nate the supposedly dark but he was actually the cliche deranged guy whatever idc

extra point cuz i atleast finished it (lotsa skimming) & there was this 1 sad scene that managed to get me (one emo scene but thats all)

(after finishing sicko like a while ago amo jones rlly attracted me) i was intrigued w/ the silver swan, though not what i’d recommend to people, it was fast paced 4 me atm. then the series really weakened and starting to get nonsense and way too weird, ott and ridiculous that i couldn’t get through it (i guess there were signs but it was fun at first so)

the stunning covers deserves better

***

20/07/21 : wow okay after kong’s review i realized i actually have enjoyed the first couple in this series’ book lmaoo but wow good for that girl

No... Just no. I really don’t think I like this author. I usually love dark romances. They’re actually my favorite kind, but this wasn’t even dark, it was just ridiculous. Their lives were so unrealistically bad, and the book is supposed to address sensitive topics, but they’re just breezed through without any discussion. None of the characters were likable, especially Tillie, because she literally wanted to sleep with every guy she came in contact with. I’m not trying to slut shame her, but come on?! How am I supposed to buy that she’s in love with the hero if every guy she speaks to “makes her heart pound”, or something cheesy like that? I realize now that all of Amo’s stories are the same. They all have “strong” females, who are actually doormats, but Amo says they’re strong because they embrace their sexuality by having some form of sex or sexual attraction to the main hero’s friends. Please stop. For all of our truly powerful women in the world, just stop! It’s annoying, and frankly juvenile for someone who’s supposed to be a mother. Also, I’m glad I didn’t read the other three books in this series because the couple in them were train wrecks in these last two books. Why would the author spoil a couple she wrote THREE books about? It’s blasphemous to me. All of these four and five star reviews have me questioning if I clicked the correct series on my kindle. I have no idea at this point. All I can say is that this is the end of the line for me. Goodbye, Amo. I can’t stand to see another recycled story just set in a different place.

People I'm begging You please .... show some patience this woman aka me.... don't hate me.... don't block me... don't report me...

Why???? Because THE ONLY WORD I WANT TO SAY is big fat F * C K !!!!

I've just read The End of "Malum. PART 1". My mind is boiled and I can do only one sure thing right now - staring on the wall.

If You expect in my review some perfect words, used in perfectly literary way... well...get lost, You won't find them here. My emotions are damn crazy.... Hell I'm not even sure what's my name 😑

Mrs Amo Jones You ARE FREAKING GENIOUS !!!!!

I was so excited that I came back for The KINGS and their dirty play, but if I would be smarter, I would remember from the past.... THIS author and this boys will ruin me... I would remember that Amo Master Jones will show again where is my place in line - exactly where big girls, like me could curl in ball and cry... Every another Journey with Kings is always like a f*cking rollecoster ride without buckle up.

Sweet Jesus I'm not sure where This Woman aka Mrs Jones finds her inspirations... but let it never stop. After reading book no4 in this series I'm still feeling confused... I'm still feeling like junkie on bookish high... and I still want much, much more.

NATE... gah You can kick me now, for most of the time I DIDN'T LIKE HIM ! He was dark, he was cruel... he was just ruthless bastard... I still can't understand why he behave in this way, but I've gave him credit...In the end I was soft like butter in sunny, summer day. LAME comparison ??? Unfortunately.... I can't find another, being more accurate.

Amo's idea for Tilie path and character, hit me of the ground... I can assure every reader on this damn planet - THIS girl knows how to stand up against men like Nate. She is firecracker !!! Tilie had my heart from the first meeting in this series, but in Malum she totally rocked my world!!!!

I'm dying to see what twisted ups and downs Amo prepared in Malum PART 2, because BOOK 1st only waken up my appetite !!!!

ABSOLUTELY MUST READ

I finally got my hands on Nate’s story! I’ve been dying to get a glimpse inside his head to see what really goes on in there for ages.

I’m staying away from the storyline in this review because, as with any Amo Jones’ books, it’s best to go into this knowing as little as possible.

We met both Nate and Tillie in the previous Elite Kings books (if you haven’t read them, what are you waiting for?) and I’ve been impatiently waiting to get their story. Their already complicated relationship gets even more messed up in this book. There’s a thin line between love and hate and these two have it blurred so much, no one knows where the line is anymore. Nate shows a different side in this book than we’ve seen previously from him. There’s a calculated cruelness in the way he does things now but it’s hard to truly hate him because he also lets his softer side out and that will make you want to swoon (and swoon I did. So many times). Tillie wasn’t what I was expecting at all. I wasn’t expecting to like her as quickly or as much as I did and I’m definitely rooting for her to get her hea. This girl will win you over so fast. She’s probably going to make you want to shake her at some point but you’ll want to do it lovingly. There’s just something about her.

Nate and Tillies story is packed with betrayal, lies, secrets and twists galore. It’s fast paced, raw and emotional. The Elite Kings are as intense (and hot) as always and the chemistry between certain characters will leave you needing a cold shower.

Malum: Part 1 was everything I’ve come to expect from the brilliant, messed up place that is Amo Jones’ mind. She is my Queen of all things twisted, no one else does f*cked up mind games like she does. She messes with my mind and has me questioning everyone and everything and I love it! I can’t wait for part two of Nate and Tillies story.

DUET REVIEW

REVIEW: 3 SOLID STARS
"When Nate bears his soul to you, he takes yours as collateral."

This entire review will consist of me battling between my own frustrations and my love for this story and the characters. It was a rough ride, but I am not entirely sure it could have really been told by anyone else, any other way. While I realize a 3 star review isn't indicative of my LOVE for this book, I truly did love the storyline and the characters. I loved the actual plot and the depth that Nate had. Nothing in this book was surface scratching, and believe me when I say that I was easily confused 65% of the time. There was SO much going on, and so many pieces to put together. What a ride.

I love Amo Jones
I love her crazy books
But dammit, they’re frustrating! Frustratingly good, but frustrating nonetheless.

But I couldn’t walk away.

I try really hard to be fair in my reviews. I don’t ever want to come across as me trying to find little things here and here to complain about, but I also know that I want to always give an honest opinion. I try to enjoy my reads, but I also have a really hard time accepting things in books that don’t really work. Drinking? Drugs? Normal teenager stuff and I know this happens. But running the town? Murder and mayhem? Ordering drinks in a restaurant? Nope. And the drug use? It felt 'token'. Basically placed to give a darker edge to the characters that we didn't really see in the first three books. It just felt far fetched to me in some spots, and it didn’t feel like there was enough believability to the amount of power and destruction these teenagers wielded.

But I was dying for answers

Amo is so authentic in her storytelling style. There is no other like her and I feel like the only reason I was able to get through this story was because I was so intrigued with not only what was going to happen, but also to see what other crazy parts surfaced. She had so much personality infused into her characters, they were honestly their own persons. Were they all alphas with testosterone coming out their pores? Yes, but the charisma each character demonstrated gave a level of intimacy between the action and the reactions of everything surrounding them. There was a deeper meaning to everything, but not always did I see the 'why' right away and I appreciated that. There was a lot of discovery with this duet, with some parts reading so vividly, yet there were other parts I was so confused by all the jumble that I couldn't make heads or tails about what was going on or who was doing what. Sex scenes were the hardest to picture...

But I was curious

The good with the bad, the name of the game, right? The amount of errors was staggering. I understand ARCs contain errors and I never hold that against an author. I realize I will get unedited copies, but I also feel like the amount in this book leads me to believe that the editor wasn’t very thorough at all - I had to read and reread a few spots multiple times for clarification just to understand the direction things were leaning. Along with this, the lack of a content editor and research was very apparent. Simple things like the location of I-5, for instance. There was quite a bit of storyline that was unnecessary and caused some parts to feel long-winded and some of it overly dramatic. I also felt that the circumstances, the activities - they all happened with a purpose and sometimes they weren't worked up to. It almost felt like afterthought instead of forethought and that doesn’t help when a character is already ‘set up’. I like crazy. I like original. These books have that in SPADES. What I don’t like is unrealistic and too far out there. But I most definitely don’t like drama. D-R-A-M-A. Unnecessary, drawn out, over-the-top, stupid decision making drama. If these “kids” are supposed to be so smart and able to run the world, why do they make teenaged decisions. You can’t have both worlds. This storyline read like 23 year old kids. Not 18 year old adults. The drama was frustrating to no end and I hate when it is mitigated by stupid, common sense actions.

Another thing that really made me side-eye was the boys’ ability to basically read Tillie's mind and know what she was thinking about at any given moment. No one tells anyone anything and everything’s a secret. They have to figure everything out, and that gets exhausting when it’s on repeat. Here and there, in context, knowing what someone is thinking happens and it’s believable. But ALWAYS?? Like, for real. If they always knew what she was thinking, why weren’t they one step ahead of her? Oh wait...

But I wanted to finish

A book should not be narrated by a DJ - but this primarily falls in Tillie’s voice. That’s obviously my personal opinion, but it felt as though every page had a song and a drink. Like, I understand having some music inspire your stories and I love to see how they influence the story, but when the story centers around a lot of the music - especially music I’ve never heard of (again, a 'me' thing), it’s very eye-roll worthy and annoying. I feel like it takes ME out of the story. I don’t like the playlist incorporated into a book in this way. But this is my issue because every few pages a song was mentioned and I didn't honestly care. I just didn't.

Having read some amazing YA, this lacks in comparison. Yes, I know this is a dark, mature YA, but the flow and structure of the story could have been better edited for content and grammar. Having read an amazing asshole bully YA, this definitely left some aspects to be desired. I don’t like to compare because everyone writes differently, and that’s my favorite thing about reading, but when the story has so much to offer, but the writing lacks in its ability to make me fall in love and sink into it, it really messes with my overall enjoyment factor. I will finish this series because I feel very invested by now - after five books, but I know I’ll have to gear up for it mentally.

I realize that this will not sit pretty with many, but I hope that while I can happily recommend the story to readers that want crazy and intense, I can not recommend it as well-written or researched, or without certain caveats. But, having said all that; I look forward to so much more from her - and I know that sounds backwards. I’ll call this my guilty pleasure. Like a gossip rag in the checkout at the store. You know it’s full of inconsistencies and half truths, but you can’t help but pick it up and check it out. I couldn't stop reading.

But I wanted to know more

I loved Nate but let’s be reasonable. Let’s have a quiet, faint voice of reason. I felt his pain over his loss. I felt his mental and emotional turmoil with Tillie. I understood that rawness he felt and I loved how Amo put a voice to his pain like that. However, when you say you like assholes, then Nate is your asshole. He is legit an asshole. Voice of reason: he’s an asshole. Talking reasonable, he’s an asshole. Seriously, his antics are very well masked in some spots but in others, he’s kept me confused. I did enjoy his depth because he had quite a bit to offer, but my absolute favorite chapters were in Nate’s POV. That’s when his true self shined. I loved it. Tillie was a complex character. At times, I couldn’t help but feel terrible for her and her upbringing, but the fact that it made her who she was now is what makes me feel amazed by her tenacity. She’s stubborn, but gives in. She’s sexually submissive but strong in every other way. Her dynamic with Nate was delicious. They had friction and tension galore - in every facet of their story. Ill-timed or ill-located, their sexcapades were definitely interesting and showcased their depravity quite well. They were a very toxic couple, and many readers may not understand the need to still be around each other while fighting their attraction, but giving in to their desires is what makes them who they are. It is one of the many reasons I loved their story. I like hard-to-love crazy lovers. BUT, sex is used in conjunction with intimacy and bargaining. I do not pretend to like that at all. It bothers me. If you love someone so much, you don’t want others that bad to spite them. Unless you’re immature. Which the entire crew is at many times during the books.

I know my rating isn’t indicative of my love for this story, but it is. Here’s why: the story itself, in its truest form, is an amazing twisted mess of love and hate. Combine this with the secondary characters and their roles in the story, it kept me rooted to my seat while I read it. It was definitely an addicting high I got from it. BUT, gosh dangit!! The editing and the analogies, the wording and the lack of research, it pulled me out. I don’t want to be shallow. I don’t want to be judged for my ‘inability to just enjoy a book’, but when simple research goes a long way, and when proper editing sucks me in instead of pulling me out - that is what makes the rating higher. I just couldn’t do that with this one. Story was great. A little over dramatic, but great. But when I roll my eyes this much, or give a frustrated cry.....I have to give that little caveat.

But, I. Wanted. More.

This duet was emotionally and physically exhausting to read and Amo Jones always leaves me with an 'addicted' feeling. One I can’t obviously deny because I keep coming back for more. The depth at which she twists this story is intense, but the problem is some of the parts don’t make much sense. Fix the editing. Get a proofreader. Get a fact checker. Find out some truth and realities. I don’t like to nitpick things and I know it sounds like I am, but when little things that are easily researchable are messed up, it takes me out of the story. Content editing is a must. Real proofreaders are a must. A competent editor is a must. I feel like a few of these musts were lacking.

Amo's a writer with charisma - she has charisma in abundance. I can’t and won’t deny that. The problem is that while she can tell an intriguing and addicting story, her background is noisy and the plot veers off course a few times. So while I really enjoyed the first three books in The Elite Kings Series, these last two really drained me. It was ridiculousness amplified. It was CrAzY personified. Things that made no sense were the norm. Common sense was not. It just felt almost like she was working and said, “Oh yeah! Let’s add this part!” and didn’t think it through with any forethought to build up. Craziness just came out of left field.

So needless to say, despite all the negative feelings I may have had, Amo still sucked me in. She still gave me an addicting storyline. She still made me want to keep reading. It’s not that I can’t handle a stretched truth here and there. It’s when it’s a continual issue to where I’m rolling my eyes and it’s hard to see past the ridiculousness. Like, really? You can run 12 miles within months of starting to exercise? Everyone knows your thoughts? Everyone drinks but doesn’t like to drink? So many inconsistencies and it was very frustrating. However, I will continue on with this series because I feel very invested after five books with the characters and the continual underlying theme, but I know I’ll have to gear up for it mentally and emotionally. Having said allll that...I cannot WAIT for Brantley's book. I know his turmoil will be so sexy!! He is so smooth and delicious.

Malum wrecked me. This was not a re-read for me. So happy I own the books as I will re-read them in the future. On the darken scale, Malum is between light black to black. There was one dark scene that could be hard to handle, and I even cried.

You find three types of love in your lifetime. The first will show you all that you did wrong. The second will show you how you should be loved, but the third will show you what it feels like to die while still being alive.

and does it ever. Tillie is back, and again, Tillie has a secret along with The Kings. We seem darker side of Nate.

Boys like Nate are lethal, because you fall for their charm, their jokes, and their beautiful faces. By the time you find yourself lost in their darkness with their demons lurking around you, it’s too late. They suck you in with charisma and spit you out with sin.

Tillie takes no crap and off the rails at times; I freaking love her. I am in total awe of how that girl handled everything. She is my favorite in this series. I laughed at some of the things that the girl did. The push/pull between Nate and Tillie gave me whiplash. We see all of our favorites along with some side stories and, of course, some characters that you can’t stand and hope they have a painful demise—another great cliffhanger to set up the next book.

THIS BOOK DESERVES ALL OF THE STARS AND MORE!!

Amo fuckin Jones! What an amazingly talented author. The silver swan series is one of my favourites and one I re-read time and time again. I thought there was NO way that Amo could top it... well she has just proved me wrong MASSIVELY!!

Malum is gritty, Raw, emotional, dark, epic and a complete page turner.
You can feel the blood sweat and tears from Amo’s writing just pouring off the page when you read and let me tell you, when you can feel the damn words bleeding into your veins as you read them you know that the book is epic. It’s a book that has touched you and will stay with you FOREVER!!

Tillie and Nate.... you think you know who Nate is from the first 3 books but let me tell you, you don’t know a damn thing. Nate made me swoon, sweat, sigh and then make my ovaries go BOOM. Tillie is a badass and I officially have a girl crush on her.

I have NEVER sworn at a book and sobbed at a book so much in my god damn life. I honestly don’t know what to think but I will tell you this. Bowing down at the feet of the queen of the dark isn’t enough. Saying thank you for writing this book isn’t enough. Malum is Epic, breathtaking, life changing and will touch your soul in a way you never knew possible.

The Kings are back baby and darker and more fucked up than ever!!

You need this series, Malum and Amo Jones in your life. If you don’t have them then you are missing out massively!

I’m off to sob in a corner now.....

Literally wtf.

Is Amo Jones okay? I swear every time I read one of her books I'm always questioning life.

I'm four books into this series and I still have no clue what is going on. Like, are they in a cult or what. Everything is just so confusing and what doesn't help is everyone keeps so many secrets like pls just explain something once, without having to make a big deal out of it.

Their roles in everything is just so confusing. I read the silver swan twice and still don't know what the f that even is supposed to mean.
WHAT IS TILLIES ROLE. Is she a queen now all of a sudden. I'm also still confused about this Island. Like this is all too much for people who are literally teenagers. You're 18 suppose to be going into college, not trying to plan to kill someone.

Also, the drama between Nate, Tillie, and Tate is so stupid. Like it was so unnecessary.

AND WHAT WAS THE POINT of making the baby die. LIKE WHAT WAS THE REASON. Also, why do these people have to solve their problems with sex and drugs? Like, go to therapy you have enough money to afford it.

This series is literal trash but I keep reading it because I want to know what happens.

This book chewed my heart up and spit it out and I loved every second of it. I feel for Tillie, she hasn’t had a good lot in life but she faces it like the bada$$ she is and Nate...Nate is dark, cruel, violent,....Nate is protecting himself behind his anger.

I’ve read a lot of great books, that I absolutely love, but only a few have had characters that resonated with me like Nate and Tillie. You can FEEL the emotions of this book and that is the true testament to how great of an author Amo Jones is.

This is the book of all books…Amo will take you on a wild ride of deceit, hate, love and heartache. She’s going to make you question your sanity and you are going to love every damn minute of it. I completely forgot the world around me as I got lost in the darkness of Nate and Tillie. This book is going to warp your mind and have you begging for more!!

Tough book

I had a really hard time getting through this book. I really enjoyed Madison and Bishop's story. Yes it was dark but Nate was always my favorite. I was excited to read his and Tilly's story but I really couldn't stand Nate in this book which really breaks my heart. The way he treated her after a big loss to both of them was utterly disgusting and irredeemable. The ending just continued it. I'm not sure I will even read part 2.

5 MASTERPIECE OF A MINDFUCK STARS!
How do you get over the biggest book hangover of your life? Seriously guys I can’t even tell you how much this book fucked me up! The BEST kind of fucked up! THIS is why we read! This gut wrenching soul crushing kind of love for characters and their story that consume you! This incredible writing that leaps from the pages grabs you by the heart and refuses to let go! I didn’t just read this book I lived and breathed every word! If you don’t feel like this after you read a book then you’re reading the wrong books!
Malum Part 1 is book 4 in The Elite Kings’ Club series by Amo Jones.
I could not wait for Nate & Tillie’s story! It was one of my most anticipated reads EVER and Amo Jones did not disappoint! They are so dysfunctional together but Amo Jones has a way of making you root for the most toxic couples! The fighting between them is just as hot as the sex but it’s the rare glimpses into their softer sides that make you yearn for them to find their way back to each other.
"Love is savage, love is blind, love is something they may not find..."
Malum is a wickedly tantalizing story that kept me hooked and on the edge of my seat from beginning to end! The writing draws the readers in and will shock you page after page. The Kings are volatile and explosive and so deliciously lethal but make no mistake Tillie Stuprum is a force to be reckoned with and held her own solidifying herself as one of my top Amo Jones heroines!
"This is my world, not just theirs, and I feel the whispers of my ancestor's echoing through my veins..."
And Nate? Where the hell do I even start?! I devoured every morsel of new information I learned about Nate Riverside Malum and although at times I wanted to kick him in the junk I also wanted to rip him from the pages and claim him as mine!
"Don't let his face fool you. The devil furnishes his darkest souls with the prettiest smiles."
Nate & Tillie's story is a deliciously sexy and sinister MASTERPIECE of a mind fuck that will leave you breathless and begging for more!

How do I start and what do I rate?

As you all know I enjoyed Madison and Bishop's story, but some parts were definitely not for me. But for the story it was good that it was added. In this one there were a few of those also.
But Amo writes so good that I got sucked in the story and I had trouble leaving the place. I'm so glad I waited until book 2 was out to start it. I hate cliffy's and this one had my feels all over the place.

What I had trouble with was Tate.. How in the hell does Tillie do that so quickly? I would never be-friend someone like that again. Okay they weren't together at that time, but Bro-code is also sister-code it counts even when your friend isn't in the picture anymore. At least for me it does so I hurt when I read those parts and how she acted afterward when Tillie was back. Nope that's not a friend and she doesn't deserve loyalty.
I hope I can read a bit of her change because at this point I don't even want to read a book about her.

Sometimes Nate gave me a headache my mind was twirling from all the back and fort. Just stick with something and don't change every five seconds..
I loved to see how such sweet parents they are. It hurt to read the heartache.

Omg where to start with Malum....Nate is simply LIFE! I’m not even kidding when you think the other boys are bad Nate takes the that to a whole new bad boy level. Yes you do want to slap him at times but then you want to jump into bed with the **** lol he doesn’t make it easy for our Tillie when she needs his help but you will find out why pretty fast.

Amo I don’t know how she does it but there’s always an evil plot you don’t see coming and boy did she hide this at the end seriously you DO NOT see it coming, I needed mental help after not even kidding.....This woman I tell ya! Good job I adore her.

Malum has everything you want from a Amo Jones book and then some I’m still not over it don’t think I ever will be, it’s a book that will leave you questioning your life, questioning Amo as to why she put you through this (I’ll meet her one day and hug the ever loving life out of her) the emotions I went through I can’t even begin to describe and it doesn’t end here....Part 2 baby you will scream!
