Shane Sebastian is the Executive Director of Cru Global Missions. He is a graduate of UC Irvine, Hope International University, has a Doctorate from George Fox Evangelical Seminary, and for the last 25+ years has ministered alongside college students from around the world, taking the Gospel to the nations.

With his latest book, Dropping In: Experience the Life You Were Meant to Live, Shane takes a candid look at what it means to be in a relationship with God and uses his lifelong passion for surfing as a way to connect it to a Spirit-filled life with Jesus Christ.

My surfing son gave me a love for the ocean—and for surfing. That is, watching others surf. Now I have grandsons learning to surf. I’m also a writer, and I love analogies. Shane Sebastian has done a beautiful job of uniting the joy and thrill of riding waves with the joy and thrill of walking with Jesus. He makes it practical and enticing. Who wouldn’t want to drop in on a perfect wave? And even better, who wouldn’t want to connect with a perfect Friend and Savior. I will be getting this book for my son and my grandsons.

I think this is a great read for new Christians, or people exploring what Christianity is about. Most of it was just a good reminder since I have followed Jesus since I was a kid. I’d love a sequel that could take me deeper into the feeling of stoke in surfing and in Jesus.
