Finn’s tactics on the ice was the same as his attitude to women— Dump and chase—and just hope you are faster than your opponent!

A different girl in his bed every other night is fun and exciting, but when a one night stand turns into something more, Finn is more than ready to play better tactics to make sure he wins her heart.

Julia Royston is everything Finn desires. Blonde, sexy, and naughty in bed and has him caught in her headlights. But winning at love isn’t just a series of x’s and o’s. While Finn puts his past behind him, Julia’s rears its ugly head and before the final score is tallied, Finn’s carefree life takes a turn for the worst.

Dump And Chase is book three in the hot and steamy newly branded Hockey Punk Series where the men are hot hockey stick wielding guys and the women are not what they seem.

Weaving contemporary happy-ever-after romance around sometimes harrowing tales, Angela Stevens’ characters are raw and sensual. They speak as they play—hard and sometimes dirty—and they wear their hearts on their sleeves. But when any of the Hockey Punk guys fall for a girl, sparks are guaranteed to fly.

Having read & LOVED the previous books in the "Cocktail" series, I couldn't wait to start reading 'Dark 'N' Stormy'... even when book 1 'Lemon Drops & Love' was such an emotional read. Once I started reading I was quickly drawn into Finn's life, oh the fun he has... but he's sick of not meeting nice ladies inside & out... Living with three of his best friends, spending his days teaching & coaching at the Ice Rink, there's only one thing missing. Life takes a turn when Finn meets Julia Royston, he's addicted to her & soon falls fast, but Julia isn't all sunshine & roses. The drama starts pretty much in the first chapter, but it's only about half way through where the real life changing drama starts.

Oh my I was riveted to my ereader whilst reading 'Dark 'N' Stormy' book 3 of Angela's "Cocktail" series. I started reading it around midnight, thinking I'd get an hour of reading & then get some sleep... that didn't happen, I found myself finished & it was 5am.

I received this as an arc from the book club ( tbc ) on fb in exchange for an honest review.
Finn enjoyed playing the field. A different girl in his bed every other night was fun and exciting.
Wow. Absolutely fantastic read.
CNPID.
Angela had done it again.
I loved the story and the characters.
I loved Lisa.
I did not like Julia.
I wanted to kill her.
I loved Finn I just wanted to give him a big hug.
I really felt for him.
But Wow what a turnaround at the end.
I loved the ending.
I do hope there is more to come.
This is a must read and I would highly recommend this book.
Definitely worth more than 5 *.

THIS BOOK MESSED WITH MY FRAGILE EMOTIONAL STATE.

No, but really. If you're reading this review, it's likely you've already checked out the first two books in this series. Well, think this is the same as the others? THINK AGAIN FRIENDS. THINK AGAIN.

Finn's story was a hell of a lot more dramatic and complex than the others. That's not to say they weren't good, but this story notched up the stakes to whole new levels I did not see coming. But then again, it wasn't bad because it was all executed so perfectly. The pacing of the story was done brilliantly, and each new reveal just instantly made me think of all the little clues and hints I'd noticed in the previous chapters.

Finn is so unapologetically himself, it's probably the reason why I didn't immediately dislike him and his...gallivanting...ways when we met him in Ice Cold Mint Juleps. Then Julia came along, and literally from the moment we met her I knew there was something off about her. The fact that she made Finn 'admit' he loved her and she didn't say it back? That only cemented my uneasiness about her.

And then shit hit the fan when Finn realized that Julia's one seriously messed up basket-case. Things just escalated from that point and I swear to god more than half of the book was me swearing like a sailor and really wishing I could leap into the book and cut a certain b*tch the f*ck up for the stupid life destroying shit she was doing.

But of course I couldn't do that. So I had to settle for swearing non-stop.

Another thing I loved about this story is how it dealt with an issue that really doesn't get as much attention as it bloody well should: domestic abuse towards men. And I swear to god if any feminists hate on me for 'defending men' when I should be 'defending women' because women are the ones who 'usually' are domestically abuse, I will send a goblin to your house. Domestic abuse isn't how many more women than men get abused in their marriages/relationships, it's about the fact that your partner, someone you're supposed to trust with your life -including your body, your heart, your mind, your soul even -is hurting you when they shouldn't be.

In fact, actually, I love the way Ms. Stevens handles every major issue she tackles in the Cocktail series. She does it so flawlessly and makes sure that at least some attention is brought to the problems she's talking about so that people are enjoying a marvelous story but also becoming more aware about something that really does happen in real life.

“Dark ‘n’ Stormy” is the third full novel in Angela Steven’s “Cocktails” series, but it perfectly capable of being read on its own. I have previously read the first book, “Lemon Drops and Love”, and found that the character backgrounds were fleshed out enough for me to pick up more-or-less where I had left off.
This novel once again deals with adult themes, and includes a nasty undercurrent of duplicity, deceptiveness and danger that provides the hook on which much of the action hangs. There is a great deal of sex, and in other works this could have become repetitive, but Ms Stevens handles her material well, and each steamy episode is a vital segment in the overall story – this is a tale of possessiveness, jealousy and obsession that builds to appalling consequences, and the sex is used as a vital window into the minds of the key characters.
There is also enough time spent within the heads of the protagonists for the reader to feel totally immersed and involved with all of them. Character traits, nuances and habits are all explored, along with desires and motivations for attitudes and actions that would otherwise confuse and fail to convince. But all the characters are vibrant and real, with depth and consistency that always delights and draws the reader in.
To conclude, if you like a thriller on the steamy side with plenty to keep you wondering, this is a good book to be in.

To be honest, the sex scenes were a bit too much for me. Not because they included some weird physical activities and not because I don’t read books with sex in them; I just didn’t feel like reading one such book at the moment… And seeing the sex in the very beginning.

I’m happy to say that as the book progressed, I got into it, naughty content included. Once I learned more about Finn and Julia, I was looking forward to all of their interactions – physical and emotional – although I could tell something was off. It didn’t take me that long to figure out what it was (I can’t share it with you as it is going to be a HUGE spoiler), but that only made me more anxious to get to the end of the book and see who comes out on top (no, not in bed).

Even though the plot was interesting, the thing that I enjoyed the most was the characters, namely Finn’s friends. I also like how Angela has given each of them a story of their own and how she weaved it into the plot of Dark N Stormy.

One character in particular – Lisa, intrigued me from the first chapter she was in. Right then and there, I pegged her as perfect for Finn, but at the time she was in a relationship and he was starting one with Julia…

Anyway, even if you don’t enjoy smutty books, you still might find this one interesting because of the people in it.

This is the third book in the Cocktail Series, but my first and by this author. They are all standalones.

In this novel, we have Finn's story. He is one of the flatmates, along with Ash and Lisa, and also a work colleague to London who is Ash's girlfriend. Finn is your typical mid 20's kinda guy, playing the field and having fun not committing to a relationship. That is until he meets Julia Royston when she walks into the Hockey Punk. They end up back at her house that rainy night, drinking Dark 'n' Stormy's to set the mood. Finn falls for her, and it makes him realise that a relationship with Julia is something he wants. But will it last? Is she the woman he thought she was? Finn will need the backup of his flatmates more so than ever.

This book had interesting parts, but fell a bit short for me. I didn't connect with the characters very well and at times was confused who the heroine was. The hero went through quite a bit and even though I felt for his situation, I felt he was a wishy washy and lacking in strength.

I received a copy for an honest review.

Once you start reading Angela Stevens' books, you will keep coming back for more great stories and characters. They tend to go in very unique directions and have characters that really resonate with you and stay with you for a long time.

The Cocktail Series is not your standard romances. They take on some tough issues while also delivering a romance story that will touch your heart. This third book features a younger associate of the original characters in the first two books. Finn is working at a job he loves teaching hockey to kids but his love life is a mess. It is a different woman all the time and he is bored with them as soon as the sex is over. If he didn't have such good relationships with his roommates, he would have no relationships in his life. It all changes when he meets a woman named Julia. He has to work to get her attention and it makes him want her all the more. There are plenty of surprises in the story and I am not going to reveal any of them and ruin your reading. It is a standalone but is even more fun when you have read the other two and get to revisit with some of your favorite characters.

I received a copy in return for a honest review.

A bad boy who just about gets what he wants every time, a woman who maybe just as bad if not worse, and another woman who is ignored because of the friendship barrier in place.
Finn maybe a lot of things- tall, dark, handsome, stamina of a horse and a ladies man. But he keeps it real when he with woman. One night stands and out the next morning. He not looking for a tie down. Until he meets Julia on a dark and stormy night after hockey. He finds out she is older than him and newly divorced, but who cares he likes her for who she is. Even if she is hung up on the age thing. And is not shy around her at all with his feelings for her. But things start to go down the rabbit hole, after she meets most of his friends at a get together....and his faithful run in with her ex-husband Simon doesn't help either. Finn doesn't realize it yet but he is in trouble deep deep trouble...

Angela Stevens does it again!
This third book in the Cocktail series holds you captive until the final page. I read it in one day and thoroughly enjoyed every twisted second.
Her characters are well developed and her treatment of the less than savoury subject matter is expertly handled.
Finn is everything I have come to expect of the heroes in Ms Stevens' books- Handsome, charismatic, sexy and totally believable.
I look forward to reading more in this series as well as anything else this author has to offer.

I must admit I have read most or Angela Stevens books and so far they all have been amazing but this book I have enjoyed the most.
Angela has taken this book to a whole new level. The characters, story and plot line, everything about this book has been fantastic. Angela really knows how to write a book where the reader is completely sucked into the story. There's only one draw back to this type of book and it's WE NEED MORE!!

I volunteered to read this Arc for an honest review. I enjoyed reading the story, a continuation of the hockey puck series. This story is about Finn, Julia and eventually Lisa. Finn is a Playboy, he always has been and probably always will be that's what all of his friends think at least. One day at the rink Finn happens to run into Julia while she is waiting for a friend's kid from a game. After he was able to clean up the rink from his game, he left the rink to a storm only to find Julia stranded on the side of the road. Things heated up between the two of them after he helped change her tire. Things were hot and heavy but something was off but she didn't realize the time. Her ex-husband she claimed was abusive and actually tried to warn him to stay away from Julia. Lisa has always been one of his very good friends they share an apartment together along with Ash and London. One night Julia got upset with him and threw a vase at his head, hitting him in the hay. Finn tells his friends that he took a puck to the face. Their relationship is hidden and every time Finn tries to get to to meet his friends, she has an excuse. So the night she knocks him out after finding Lisa's laundry mixed in his, he calls it quits. But she's not willing to give him up. Lisa and Finn have always been close. She was either datingsomeone or he was for them to start a relationship, plus they didn't want to ruin their friendship. They always manage to find comfort in each other's arms, but after one night it went past friendship to something more. she stands by his side the whole time he's dealing with all this crap from Julia. Even when their relationship strained Lisa is still there for him.

This is Finn's story and things are not always as they seem. This was a great piece of story telling though it felt more like intrigue and suspense than romance. Totally happy with the way that it all worked out though as it wasn't over the top all sunshine and roses but realistic and thus satisfying. I loved how Angela had me doubting and raging, pitying and questioning, swooning and cheering throughout this book. Another one I couldn't put down once I started it even if it did give me the creeps at times. Definitely an interesting twist on relationships that you don't see often.

Four and a half stars. This book is part of a series. I have read one other but this story is good without any other background. The tension is almost overwhelming at times as I got the idea where the story was headed. Finn hooks up with Julia and thinks he’s in love but there is something about Julia. Even though there is a lot of sex, the story is much more important and would have been great without it. There is also an interesting perspective on a social issue we don’t often talk about. Definitely worth the read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is book three in the series but can be read as a standalone.
Finn is tired of the endless stream of woman in his bed. He's ready for a real relationship and an older woman seems the perfect place to start. Julia seems to be everything he could want and more.
Lisa has just caught her boyfriend cheating on her. Now she's ready to move on but all the guys suck. Why can't they be as great and hot as her best friend Finn?
This book is a definite page turner. Can't wait for more in this series.

Another amazing book in the “Hockey Punk” series. The book is well written with a storyline that is exciting, full of surprises and intrigue. The plot is well developed, consistent and flows smoothly. The chemistry between the characters is sizzling and off the charts. There is some overlapping of characters from previous books and this adds to the overall excitement of the story. This is a great read and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

AAAHHH - another good read! I can't get enough of these characters. I love how they are intertwined through out the series. While it can be read as a standalone I would highly recommend starting with the first book in the series.

Pages that flew like a breeze ...

Not sure how to say this but there's a guy in this book called Finn who enjoys the most amazing sex near enough nightly AND I FELT SORRY FOR HIM. Why? Well, because after countless episodes of gymnastic positions that Finn handles in his stride (but which would have left me a hospital case) he goes to bed with the hottest of the hot, a girl who intrigues him, then obsesses him and then nearly drives him mad. Name: Julia Royston. Pluses: she's amazing looking, fantastic in the sack and is loaded with personality - unlike all the empty vessels that came before her. But there's one massive minus: she has a nightmare past. And that past threatens to unhinge Finn. Count me in there too. Talk about getting emotionally (and physically) involved! But it was all over too soon. These 240 pages flew like a breeze. To say anything more would spoil things.

I was given a copy to read and review via TBC on Facebook and I really enjoyed every minute of it. I loved how I was made to feel like I knew all the characters personally from the start. The book takes a sharp turn towards the middle - I wont give anything else away - but it really made the book and opened my eyes to things. Highly recommended from me!

"Dark & Stormy" was incredible! Loved watching "Finn" as he went from playboy to a one-woman man. Watching the characters unfold and falling in love with each one of them and hating others. Hot and steamy sex scenes
I highly recommend this book! Now I'm off to purchase "Lemon Drops and Love" and "Ice Cold Mint Julep ".
