In this guide, Caitlin shows you how to dive into the world of working from anywhere. She starts by revealing the lies we've all grown up believing about money, education, work, and business and replaces those lies with some truths that will smack you in the face. Then she walks you through the beginning phases of building your life of freedom.

As she tells you many times, reading this book won't get you anywhere if you don't take action on it. But she provides many action steps to get you going and tons of motivational golden nuggets to keep you going when things get tough. It's inspirational, honest, and even funny! If you're looking to break free and finally be the boss of your own life, this is the place to start!

So, initially I was put off by how much she repeats the same things over and over again about the “lies that hold people back”, and “you can do it!”, and then very little “here’s how”. However, while there is definitely a lot of repetition, she did explain why at one point:

“At this point, you’ve read my words about choice, taking action, and never giving up over and over again. I’ve heard that the average person needs to hear something 19 times before they’ll believe it enough to take action. While I’m not keeping count on how many times I’ve told you the same things over and over so far, I know someone out there needs the repetition. I know this because at one point not long ago, I needed it. I needed someone to tell me- more than once- that my success was up to me. That my choices were my power.”

Fair enough. (Although I do think it’s also partially due to a repetitive writing style.)

And later on there are some pretty nice tips for figuring out your work at home niche, some ways to make enough extra money to get started if you don’t have any available to invest in yourself, and steps you can take to get moving toward your goals.

The perfect read to change my life

Caitlyn wrote of how to believe in yourself, to reach your dreams and never give up. I learned that learning skills which you favor and have passion for will build your best future. She writes in very straight forward ways so readers can fully engage in what she is providing. Thank you for the encouragement, passion and openness you have provided through this book. Onward to your proofreading course and the wonderful bonuses that are provided. Thank you.

Encouragement To Be Your Own Boss

An easy to read guide on changing your mindset and taking control of your work life. The author shares her worst work stories as well as her entrepreneurial successes. My top three takeaways are that working from home - or the beach - is still work. Solving problems is the key to making money. And that skills are more important than a degree.

I absolutely loved this book! I love her writing style and down-to-earth attitude. So much of this book is about mindset, and that's exactly what I needed! I'm a new student to her general proofreading course and discovered her mindset teaching through that, and then I just had to get her book. So glad I did!

This reads like an exasperated and exaggerated sales pitch that drones on and on. All of the advice is common sense. It's also geared toward fueling her own business by plugging in her own resources so it's completely biased advice. It's geared towards getting her own website views and sales by promising "resources". She's a saleswoman through and through.

Caitlin gives you no-nonsense advice for building your home business, but levels it with pep talks that fill you with the fires of confidence and determination. I love reading anything by Caitlin when I need that push to get going.

I have taken one of her proofreading courses and so was already familiar with a lot of Caitlin’s story. Now that I’m to the point of starting my own business, this was good to read. It has great information about mindset as well as a 28-day plan to launch a business.

The book promises much and delivers little. There is entirely too much bragging about being a millionaire. Honestly, I do not care if the author of a book lives in a van down by the river - give me information that I can use. I do not care about the author's life or lifestyle. I care about the contents of the book, and in that I was thoroughly disappointed. It felt stale and "done before" from beginning to end...oh wait, that's probably because I suffered through one of the author's online classes.

Caitlyn gives very real information about beliefs and struggles of trying to start the transition of working from home. She starts with myths about school, work, and even working from home. She tells her own story along with advice for others while offering her own courses through her website. Caitlyn gives great tips to help the reader take the first step into taking ACTION. At the end of the book, there is a 28 day plan to help readers get started.

While I believe the information is helpful, I will admit is seems as if anyone who does not work for themselves (even if they are happy and content) suddenly becomes unhappy, it's your fault. I personally teach young people there are many paths to take in live and one is not better than the other.

With that said, if someone needs an extra push or direction to begin the process of working from home OR you have tried but maybe gave up or have been scammed, read this book. Read this and start the path knowing that one person's success story will NOT be yours. Use this as a tool, not a "get rich quick".
