The Housman brothers have killed Jack Evers, his wife and two sons in a random act of savagery. Sam "Cully" McCullough knows the West can be dangerous and cruel but even he is shocked at this brutality. Cully swears to the only surviving member of the family he will bring the murderers in—dead or alive. To find them, though, he needs the help of Snake Madison, a man he recently brought in for bank robbery. Madison doesn't like Cully but agrees to help if his sentence is reduced. The two form an uneasy alliance.Cully wants the two Housman brothers more any other outlaws he has ever hunted. But as he tracks the gang a winter storm hinders his progress. He must also hope Madison, who has a choice between evil and redemption, will not betray him.Although Cully is tempted to kill the gang, can he keep his honor and values even when dealing with these heartless killers. Can Madison stay true to his word and not betray Cully? Will justice be served? Each book in the Cully the Bounty Hunter series is a standalone story that can be read out of order.

Another exciting adventure of Cully and his associates that supplies plenty of ongoing excursions of gunplay and enough mystery to pacify the most demanding reader's attention. This series of American folklore is definitely full of western stories that are successfully entertaining episodes from beginning to end. Mr. Orris Slade is certainly an up and coming author worthy of an ever increasing number of new followers. I, for one, definitely recommend that he continues this series for a long, long time.
This story, as well as the three previous books, we're definitely worthy of the five stars I have awarded them. I am completely fascinated with the wholesome attitude of these stories, as well as the author's outstanding selections of his characters, as they were perfectly selected throughout the entire series. Too, the storylines are indicative of timely and in depth research by the author. This a very family-friendly, and heartwarming, series of outstanding old western adventures, with enough exciting gunplay to pacify your every whim. You never know what mystifying and entertaining episodes Cully, and his entourage, might bring forth next. Never a dull moment throughout the entire story. Definitely recommend this compassionate, and outstanding, series of western adventures to all readers of great old fashioned western folklore adventures. I am sure those of you who may not read westerns, if you will try these outstanding stories, you will definitely find the palatable to your taste. I, for one, certainly hope there will be a constant flow of the Cully series!
Orris Slade books continue to deliver no-non sense, traditional western yarn with this forth Cully book. Relentless as a good story filled with suspense and a bit more action than usual. The pacing is great and Slade writing is straightforward and smooth. Like all the previous Cully stories, this one is a traditional western with good guys vs. bad guys dynamic with a little twist; Cully hired the services of an outlaw to help him in is quest for justice in the big city and offers him a chance at redemption at the same time. M. Slade (whom ever he is) is a very good storyteller that has kept me thoroughly entertained for five books straight so far (with the stand alone Billy's Back), and I don't foresee this changing anytime soon.
This book was better written than the last one. Tho story line was thought out better and the characters better described. Cully needs to quit smoking as it could mean his demise if fire and smoke are spotted. When I was a young soldier I read many Zane Gray books and Orris Slade has the potential to become another great western writer. I have enjoyed the first four books greatly and am looking forward to number five. Good writing in the future Orris.
After reading all four books, I,be been very impressed by each one of them. All four books were exciting and kept me reading until I finished them. What great stories each one was. And each one is so different. What a great guy Is Cully. And each story is totally different. Read on!
Cully is a very dedicated and savy bounty hunter. Luckily he is smarter than the men he hunts . Not one to take unnecessary chances Fully considers his options before acting. The author, Or is Slade, is an excellent story teller and keeps the reader involved in the story. So, "Giddy Up" cowboys. Western action is only a page away.
The Housman brothers need some horses and they end up killing a family to do it. They left a witness, the family's daughter. She puts out a reward on them and asks Cully for help. For murderers this ruthless, Cully needs backup and he arranges to have Snake Madison released from jail. Madison is a would be bank robber, but has the skills needed for this job.
Powerfully. Story well written you just became my best writer and I have a c couple thousand book under my belt this is the second book of you're I have read don,t stop writing
Cully is on the hunt for a murderer and this time has help from an unlikely source. Well written and fast moving Western. Looking for more from this author.
Great series. Four books of sizziling hot shootouts. Western reading at it's best. Cully is one tough dude. Each book is a fun gripping fast ride. Enjoy!
I like the Cully series but the stories don't have much plot depth. Every story seems to lack something and endings seem abrupt. There are no sub plots.
