They hunted her. They caught her. Now they will subdue her.

The resistance sent them, but that's not really why these four battle-hardened Vakarrans are here.

They came for me. To conquer me. To master me. To ravage me. To strip me bare, punish me for the slightest hint of defiance, and use my quivering virgin body in ways far beyond anything in even the very darkest of my dreams, until I've been utterly, completely, and shamefully subdued.

I vow never to beg for mercy, but I can't help wondering how long it will be until I beg for more.

Publisher's Note: Subdued is a stand-alone novel which is the fourth book in the Vakarran Captives series. It includes spankings, sexual scenes, intense and humiliating punishments, and strong D/s themes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

Five Incendiary Vakarran Stars!

Known for her blistering hot, D/s reverse harem stories, Ms. Fields does not disappoint with the final entry in the Vakarran Captive Series, “Subdued”. Not satisfied with merely offering up one hot, dominant alien warrior… Ms. Fields brings four dominant males to the forefront, mastering the feisty heroine with punishments, humiliation and passion. As the youngest of the four sisters, Kaela character is extremely entertaining and the four dominant Vakarrans are imbued with diverse as well as interesting personalities. Once captured, Kaela inevitably succumbs to all four of her Vakarran masters. As with all of Ms. Fields novels “Subdued” is professionally written, extremely fast-paced and teeming with incendiary as well as descriptive sexual encounters. Although “Subdued” can be read as a standalone, reading the three prior novels is recommended for total enjoyment of the overarching theme.

Disclaimer: No Kindles were seriously harmed while reading this novel. Children 18 + only… due to sexually explicit content, arduous humiliation and domestic discipline within an unequal power exchange, which might be considered harsh in nature.

Disclaimer for the Disclaimer… The term “seriously harmed” is not intended to include: overheating, scorch marks, minor melting or inconsequential fire that can be put out with an extinguisher. Fire retardant gloves highly recommended while reading. Reviewer is not responsible for run-on sentences, misplaced commas or illegal use of overly descriptive language.

RATING DETAILS (Based on 1 to 5 Gold Stars):
STEAM FACTOR: 5 D/s Stars
WRITING STYLE: 5 Professional Stars
PLOT: 5 Original Stars
ENGAGING CHARACTERS: 5 Vakarran Stars
SATISFYING CONCLUSION: 5 Satisfying Stars

Vakarran Captives, Book 4 Can the last of the Strykes finally take down the Vakarrans?

SPOILER ALERT/REVIEWER’S NOTE: While each book in this series is labeled as a standalone, it’s this reviewer’s opinion that they should be read in order. If they aren’t, this reviewer believes the reader will miss a significant amount of backstory and characters that are essential to the entire series. It’s up to you to decide that for yourself by reading the synopses and reviews for each book before buying. However, if you haven’t read the prior books in this series, this review may contain spoilers.

After ten long years, I’m the last Stryke! Now they come for me! They’ve no idea what they’re up against. If the Vakarrans think they know the Strykes, they’re, oh, so very wrong. I’m unlike anything they’ve ever seen, the best of the best. And I’ll make them pay. Four-to-one odds are hard but not impossible! But I’m hardly alone! Or wait! Am I? Then, by all the stars in the universe—could the rumors be wrong? Every advantage I had is gone in the blink of an eye. Is this what my sisters felt? The Vakarrans conquered my world, work as a unit in every way. Now they seek to conquer me. And something deep inside tells me nothing is as it seems. Could I be wrong? If I am, what has and will happen? If I’m not, will the Vakarrans finally end Earth in every possible way? I’m totally lost! Am I capable of finding the truth? More importantly, what do I need? Can I, one person, have the power to change anything?

Since this is the last book in this series, I honestly expected more of Kaela, her Vakarrans, and this book than I got. I don’t want to give away anything in any way. After reading the entire series, I feel all the Stryke sisters have a few unique abilities, but they’re cut from the same cloth. That’s to be expected as they are sisters in an extended and solitary existence. That’s also not to say they’re cookie cutter images of each other. But their similarities far outweigh their differences, until each undergoes a transformative stage. Even then, their similarities still outweigh their differences. I also think the particular Vakarrans associated with each Stryke sister could be identical. I think this is a weakness in this series. I love the premise of the series. The differences between the aliens and humans is remarkable. The Vakarrans have definitely earned the rumors that swirl about them and their agenda on Earth. There are deep conflict, terror, eye-opening wonder, and terrible consequences for every human that remains on Earth. The Vakarrans, outside the specific ones associated with each Stryke sister, are all over the map. There’s a lot of very hot sex, but that’s definitely not the be all, end all of any of these books. There are developed plots and supporting characters. I have really liked this entire series and think it’s well worth reading. I do recommend the entire series, especially if you like sci-fi and reverse harem. The thing that bothered me the most is, after the first book, each subsequent one was a bit predictable. But, please, don’t take my word. Find out for yourself. I’m just one person. I know that the vast majority of readers who’ve read and reviewed this book don’t agree with my opinion. I do adore this author. But I don’t think this book, or the others in the series, are her best.

A final note. This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and BDSM-like sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. Check the book blurbs and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Please use them before buying this book. I do recommend this book if you like this genre. I think you will too.

Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!

This is the fourth book in the series but it can easily be read as a stand-alone. Kaela is the last Stryke that is free, however her Vakarran mates have plans for her and one is to reunite her with her sisters. The chemistry is off the charts hot and the there is plenty of suspense and drama to draw you into this sci-fi read. I was hooked from beginning to end. I really love this reverse harem read. Hot!

CAPTURED—PUNISHED—TAMED

The story is the fourth in the Vakarran Captives series but will read well as a stand-alone and is a reverse harem story. The Vakarran is a powerful alien race who need females that are compatible for breeding. One of the downsides of the Vakarran’s is they only produce male offspring. They have conquered and captured many planets, and that has now included Earth. The Stryke sisters, along with a few other humans have managed to hide in a secluded wooded area away from their enemy but now Kira, Aliana, and Danika are all missing and next in line, and Kaela is in charge of the group of humans. With the technology started by Kira, they detect a group of four Vakarran men heading their way and the humans attempt a trap, with Kaela as the bait.

“To the victor go the spoils of war, right?”

The plot of Subdued will have several differences than the other stories, especially now that many of the Vakarran warriors have been exiled, or have abandoned the fleet under Commander Nix. Part of that group is Fourth Battalion consisting of Tavik, Zane, Valdus, and Caleb. These warriors are on a mission, knowing exactly where to go and who they want, Kaela Stryke, the youngest of the four sisters and the only one still free. The message from the Vakarrans offer hope, but at what cost? Can she trust them? Does she even have a choice?

“Four Vakarrans have come to seal my fate. Had come to steal me away like my sisters. And now, it was just me and them, and I knew I couldn’t stand for it.”

While this story will read well as a stand-alone, and enough information from the previous stories is shared without retelling, it helps bring the previous stories to a climax with answers and comeuppance against certain Vakarrans. Kaela is willing to give up her freedom to protect the rest of the humans she has been working with, and what if there is a way to find her sisters, and maybe escape. She is willing to die doing that. Her four Vakarrans claim her as their mate, promised that she would be theirs and they were worthy of her. Kaela is a fighter, a warrior, and she isn’t easily subdued, but eventually must capitulate to her men. Will they tame her? Or will she tame them? The battle is coming and with it comes the possibility of death—or freedom.

Subdued is the fourth book in the Vakarran Captives series. Kaela has been keeping the rest of the survivors safe, and she’s the last Stryke sister. But soon she’s taken and claimed by her own four Vakarrans, and while she’s not sure she can trust them, she relishes in what they do to her body. Between Commander Nix, running to the Rebellion base, and getting used to each other, Kaela is overwhelmed. When she’s taken, can she save herself and find her four Vakarrans again or will all be lost with Commander Nix?

Pretty much from the first page of the first book, I’ve been completely captivated with this series and have been anticipating how everything would play out. I absolutely LOVED this book and how everything came together in the end! Kaela, Tavik, Zane, Caleb, and Valdus are passionate, protective, strong, caring, and the males are oh so dominant. I love how Kaela became more self confident, learned to trust her males, and loved the additional powers she gained. Their passion and discipline together were scorching hot, but I loved that from the males’ points of views, the discipline was always shown in a caring way. I loved how strong Kaela was in this book, and loved even more how well her males were able to cherish and shape her strength. The ending of this book was just... everything! The loose ends were all tied up, familiar faces are seen, and there’s even a little bit of a surprise that I loved! I found this series to be original, engaging, passionate, entertaining, and while the romances are stand alones, I feel like you get the most out of this series by reading the books in order, including Abducted. This was just an amazing book and I think I’m going to have a bit of a book hangover, haha!

Kaela is Subdued by four Vakarrans. Kaela doesn't know it at first, but Tavik, Zane, Caleb and Valdus were sent to fetch her by her sisters. The five of them bond on their way to the Resistance and they can ultimately use the strength of the bond in their final battle for their freedom. Nix shows his vile self again but gets Kaela in this story. The relationship of Kaela and her four Vakarrans gets stronger each day that they are together. Kaela finds that she thrives on her men's dominance and punishments as she gets stronger the more she is with them. This is the last book about the Stryke sisters and it has a very satisfying HEA. All questions are answered finally and they can all go about living their lives. A few deaths happened, but they were in a war after all. I think you would love this last book in this series, I sure did!

I do love this series. Not only do you get some wonderfully sexy sex scenes. Not only do you get hot aliens and one lucky woman, but you get some great action and mystery.

Subdued seems to be the last of the Vakarran Captives Series, which is kind of sad, to be honest. I loved the Stryke sisters and how tuff they are. They all brought something different to the table, and then you add the hot alien men to their lives, and you have some great books.

I will say that all of these books are told to be standalone, but I would not read them out of order. To understand the action and mystery of this great series I would read them in order.

I love how Sara Fields wraps up this little series in this last book. The last sister is finally caught. Is she as feisty as her other 3 sister? The interaction between the 4 men and Kaela is funny, intense, and powerful. I really recommend that you read the first three books before you read this one or you might be lost as to the whole continuing storyline. Really a good book!!

I really don't know what to say.....

The first stories were okay I guess not anything I would ever want to read again, but this one was just way over the top! First off you have the youngest Stryke sister and her older sisters have sent 4 Vakarrans to bring her back to their bunker to join them in their resistance. Kaela was a virgin at least until her 4 guys caught up with her and yeah they deflowered (sorry trying to keep it clean LoL) anyways you can imagine think back to the day when all of us ladies had to go through that same experience and I think now how in the heck does she even think it would be pleasurable for a young girl on her first time to endure some hard core BDSM style *BowChickaBowWow* with 4 huge alien men! To top that all off we all know on your first time you're gonna see "Red" if you know what I mean and I'm sorry those guys going down town on her even if it's just a taste or a kiss Ugh! That's so gross and she's like literally covered in their *ahem* seed, either they really don't have hang ups about that sort of thing or their really freaky! After her first encounter the poor girl doesn't even get to clean up and as soon as they reach their safe place for the night and are getting ready to go to bed well one of her men decides it's a good time to go down town on her and I'm thinking seriously!?! Clean that mess up before u go down there for God's sake! Oh and let's not forget when she gets taken by the enemy and she tries to bite off his man friend, she takes off running for dear life and when her guys catch her they search her over for wounds to see she's hurt, she has bruises, a split lip, and her feet are bad off but that's about all. I was thinking to myself uuuhhh??? Isn't she forgetting something that girl should have blood all over her face and mouth because she said in the paragraph she bit hard enough she tasted his blood coating her mouth so really the author didn't do a good job following up on her details about minor things...I guess because she was too busy filling in the rest of the book with paragraphs of mindless details...I swear I read TWO paragraphs of detailing how they blew up the enemies head LoL!! She really likes to go on and on and on!!! This author could have potential to be pretty decent she needs to cut back on the details she paints a pretty good picture but goes over board if she can get that under control I think they would get better.

I've loved Sara Fields' Vakarran books. The Stryke sisters are fierce and they end up with mates as fierce as they are. They all have to have strong mates, otherwise each sister would just run right over her man.

Kaela is the last Stryke sister standing. She's pretty sure that her sisters have all been taken by the Vakarrans, and she is bound and determined that she won't be taken by them, because everyone knows all the terrible things that the Vakarrans do to the women they take. So, she's going to hide in the forest with the group of humans that she and her sisters gathered up and have been leading. That is, right until a group of Vakarrans come wandering into her forest, right by some of the traps that they have planted in the woods.

Tavik, Valdus, Caleb, and Zane were banished by Nix and they went on to do their own thing, but when they heard about a rebellion on Earth, they decided to join it. That's when 2 of Kaela's sisters told him where she was and asked them to get her. And oh yeah, they could be her mates. But first, they are going to have to get her and deal with her traps.

Kaela, I think, was kind of sneaky. She knew how to bide her time, when necessary, and when the right time to strike is. And when she does strike, she makes sure to use it to her best advantage. I love her. I don't know that she's my favorite of all the sisters, but she's right up there. Of course, it could be that they are all tied at how awesome they are, all in their own ways.

I'm so sad that the series is over. I've loved all the sisters and I really like the dynamic. But, I'll be looking forward to whatever Sara Fields writes next.

This is the 1st of the author's Vakarran series I've read & overall I liked it.
Very, very hot & steamy passionate sex & A LOT of it, although I guess with 4 males & 1 female, that's a given I suppose.
Kaela (h) comes afoul of 4 Vakarran males on a mission specifically to 'acquire' her for the Resistance. Because of her initial aggressive interaction with them, they naturally need to 'discipline' her & let her know she's not in charge. But, that's the type of story this is so I had zero issues with it or their subsequent 'handling & treatment' of Kaela.
In the main the story is of guerilla leader Kaela & her struggles to 'submit' to her Vakarran males & if they are lying to her about their mission & ultimate goal to take her to the seat of the Resistance.
I liked this book overall, I liked Kaela, she was spirited & tough without being whiny or annoying & the 4 Vakarran males intrigued me & as their individual personalities & feelings came out I came to actively like each of them too. The only sour note (for me) was when Kaela needed rescuing at one point & her 4 males seemed (to me) to give up rather quickly & after what they went through to get to the city where she was they seemed (to me) to give up without a further fight quickly & be resigned to being without her. And yet she never gave up the quest or fight to find & save her sisters.
But, again, overall I did very much enjoy this story with all its' sexy steamy passion, some action, danger, tension & suspense.

What the actual f*** was this. I’m genuinely angry that I wasted time reading even part of this. This might have been one of the weakest FMCs I’ve ever read and that’s saying something. This b**** folded IMMEDIATELY, not a legitimate SECOND of resistance towards her “captors”. Definitely one of the most ridiculous cases of body betrayal I’ve ever read. I’m baffled by the good reviews of this book because it’s so far from what the blurb describes that this author should seriously be fined for such a level of false advertising. Literally no relationship development whatsoever, the MMCs capture her in the woods, f*** her, and she is instantly thinking about how she already trusts them (but maybe possibly shouldn’t, and throws out some random ideas of escape that she’s never going to act on because she’s already given in. Apparently this is what the author’s idea of a badass strong FMC). They start walking to meet up with her sisters and with zero conversation/bonding/anything, she’s thinking about how they’re all getting so comfortable together and how they’re nothing like the brutal monsters who supposedly enslave humans… despite the fact that she’s literally their captive and their only interaction so far has been them f****** her “against her will”. This was such utter trash, and not in a good way, that I couldn’t even finish it.

EDIT:
I tried to keep going and it got even more absurdly pathetic. These other reviews have to be fake…

This is the last book of the Vakarran series. Kaela Stryke is the last and youngest sister free. She is leading a group of free humans since her three older sisters have gone missing. When they see some Vakarrans coming towards them, she uses herself as bait. The Vakarrans aren’t interested in any of the humans except Kaela. They are to get her and bring her to the Resistance, where two of her sisters are. Tavik, is the leader of the group, Zane, is a sadist, Valdus, seems cold at first and Caleb is sweet and funny and also the one Kaela feels closest to. These four men are full blown alphas and will protect Kaela with their lives. They just need to get to the Resistance before Nix finds them. This proves a little harder than they thought it would, because Kaela isn’t the submissive little human woman the Vakarrans are used to. She is a Stryke sister, and they are strong, independent and feisty women. While these men love her feistiness and strength, they still want her to obey. There is strong BDSM elements and punishments. The punishments can be severe, so if any of these make you uncomfortable, you should probably skip it. If you like this type of genre like me, then jump right in. This is a great series that you should read.

Hot dam Sara Fields’s you are an amazing writer and throughout this whole series not once was I disappointed in the story lines, I was drawn in and capavated and aroused but most of all dam I wanted it to happen to me lol. Anyway Kaela is the last sister to be captured by 4 hot Dominant vakarren men Tarik, Zane, Caleb, Valdus and they only want to bring her back to her sisters but Kaela doesn’t believe them and fights and try’s to escape and fails so now she will be punished and taken by her now new mates she is shocked that her body reacts to them and there dominance but she loves it but will never tell them so. Now that they have her they make their way back to the resistance but find they are being followed by the evil commander Nix and he has plans for this Stryke and all the others sisters as well they will all pay if it’s the last thing he does. But when these sisters get together and use there special powers given to them by there mates sperm his plans don’t work out so well and he is taken down once and for all. The resistance is stronger than he and all the other Vakarrens realize, so how does it all work out read this amazing book to find out. Better yet read the whole series you won’t be disappointed and these Stryke sister are totally strong kickarse women.

Kaela is the last Stryke sister and four Vakarran were sent to find her and bring her to her sisters. The three sisters and their men want her safe. Tavik, Zane, Caleb, and Valdus were looking for her and found her. But Kaela doesn’t know that they were sent to get her. She is a fighter like her sisters but will she be able to trust them. Their kind caused the destruction of Earth.

Hopefully you read the other books in the series. All the Stryke sisters are tough and great fighters. They each found their mates. Kaela’s have been chosen for her and these men love that she is a fighter. Each man: Tavik, Valdus, Caleb, and Zane all love her strength and want nothing but to protect her. The journey to meet up with the sisters’ is a long one and enemies are after her. Commander Nix wants the last sister to find the rebels. And our guys want to end Nix. I have to say the description of Nix is really creepy and he is a sick alien. A lot is going on with the Resistance. This story is as action packed as the others. There is never a dull moment.

Each book in the series may be a stand-alone story, but each book also builds on the revelations of the ones before it. This book especially benefits from knowing what happened in the previous volumes. I enjoyed seeing how this series concludes. I thought it was great action interspersed with combustible intimate encounters. This series hasn’t been my favorite of the author’s works, though. I have to agree with another reviewer who felt like each of the Stryke sisters and her battalion had largely the same traits, just new names and situations to overcome: the true alpha, the dark alpha, the beta alpha, the aloof alpha, and the alpha vixen who will only submit to the alphas who earn her submission. My problem could be the result of reading all five books in close succession so they bled into each other a bit. Overall, it was a happy reading experience for me and I’ll be interested to see if there’s a book in the future to expand on the unexpected discoveries of this concluding story.

The final Stryke sister gets her HEA

Tavik, Caleb, Valdus and Zane were sent by Alaina and Danika to retrieve Kaela. But when Kaela first sees them she thinks they are enemies and she has set a trap in order to get information and then kill them. But these men have fought a long time and know how to get out. Then they tell Kaela that if she goes with them then all of the other humans with her get to go free.
She goes with them but is strong and defiant earning her a spanking before they can even tell her about her sisters.
Nix and his many soldiers makes an appearance in this book. There is plenty of fighting action.
I love that each of these women are strong in their own rights but can enjoy not being in control in the bedroom. I love the ending to this series. I just hope that the little surprise at the end will lead to more stories.
If you don't enjoy BDSM then you won't like this series. But if you like sci-fi books that feels like a reverse harem with a spankings and anal play than this book is for you.

Well this is it the finale of the Vakarren Series and finally the battle to defeat the Vakarren Army and it’s commander Nix by the Stryke resistance.
Kaela is the last Stryke sister in hiding (if you have followed this series with Conquered, Mastered and Ravaged) and she was targeted by a small battalion of Vakarrens to be taken back to the resistance headquarters to be reunited with her sisters. But Kaela doesn’t go easily and that is a good thing she gives as good as they do but ultimately she does get punished for it as the Vakarren are a dominate species, and her men are very protective, caring and loving towards Kaela.
We finally get to see all the sisters reunited in the end and learn more of what happens to Kira As her story was mostly kept seperate from the other books and I found it didn’t disappoint, (without giving too much away)
I have really loved this series and while it can be read as a stand-alone book it really does help if you have read the other books to know the background story.

Title: Subdued
Author: Sara Fields
Format: Audio
Narrator: Heather Firth
Genre: Romance, SciFi, Alien, RH, BDSM, Forced Submission, DubCon
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: Vakarran Captives book 4
POV: Kaela, Tavik, Zane, Valdus, and Caleb
Steam Level: hot
5/5

Subdued is the last book in the Vakarran Captives series. While each are labeled as a standalone I suggest that this series be read in order otherwise this book will contain massive spoilers from earlier books in the series.

Kaela is the last sister to be captured. But this is different as the guys know who she is and where to find her. They say her that her sisters told them where to find her. Except her sisters wouldn't give up her location, would they? Kaela reluctantly starts of a journey with the four Vakarran toward Atlanta and her future. Along the way she gets to them, herself and starts to develop some alien abilities.

Subdued is an epic batter for freedom and the planet. Everything comes together in an epic climax and reveal. What a great ending to this series!

Scorching!

This can be read as a stand-alone but you would get so much more out this if you started with the first in the series
Do be warned, the blurb does tell you that it includes spankings, sexual scenes, intense and humiliating punishments, and strong D/s themes but if you are still reading this review then you have not been put off this book

This is a well written, steamy page turner that you are not going to want to put down. This has only just been released and already there are a number of great reviews so I am not going to rehash these but simply add my 5 star review to the count

If you are a fan of Sara Fields then simply download and find somewhere to read this uninterrupted.
If you are new to Sara Fields, and you have not been put off by the warnings, then go to the start of this series and settle in. You are going to love this author.

I grabbed book one of this series and read several chapters but got side tracked by several ARCs and life and never got back to it. I liked the premise of the series and several people recommended this book, I grabbed it (a special thanks to the author for allowing it on the KU program). I can gladly say that enough information is given in this story to make it a stand alone - granted getting the full story by reading all of the books in order would probably make it even better.

I really enjoyed this book. The battle to free Earth from a vicious Vakarran commander comes to an statisfying conclusion. The last Stryke has been claimed by a battalion of Vakarrans. I am a sci-fi fan and if I can get my sci-fi with a side of hunky aliens, it's even better. Each Vakarran is distinctive and adds to the group dynamic. Kaela proves to be a strong character. The author also gives us a small epilogue that provides closure to the story.

Kaela is the last Stryke sister helping the humans to survive the invaders. Yet when four Vakarran men show up and claim to be sent from her sisters Kaela doesn't believe them. Somehow Tavik, Valdus, Caleb, and Zane were going to make her listen to them. After letting her know that her fiends were safe from them she sent everyone away. Zane made sure Kael was punished sufficiently for disobeying them and almost getting them caught or killed. However after being with her men it isn't exactly punishment to her. When Nix catches up to them and takes Kaela will she be able to survive what he wants to do to her? Will her men show up in time?

This is a great story and will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between the five of them just about melted my kindle from the heat. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to any book lover.

~The very last Stryke~

When the last human holdout on Earth is infiltrated by a set of now-familiar Vakkaran warriors, the youngest Stryke sister, Kaela, strikes a deal with them in order to protect her colony. She becomes their reluctant captive. Same boat. Different shoes. Could she believe what they intimidating males were saying, that her sisters were alive and wanted her to join the resistance? It was going to take much convincing and much travel to join up with the rest of the Strykes, feats which Tavik, Zane, Caleb, and Valdus had no qualms in performing.

This read describes some of the most intense claimings of the series and great suspense/action which completes the story surrounding Nix, the one individual the resistance was focusing all their efforts on. Amazing series and one I will read again!

An exciting, dark romance, This is the fourth book by this author that I've read and it definitely won't be the last! My favorite part of this book would absolutely be Keara's character. She is brave, strong and also reckless. Just when you think that she's accepted her fate, she switches up and creates another set of problems. I thought she would be dead in the middle of the book, but she and her original captors prevailed and kicked ass and lived to run to the end of the story. The book is hot, some scenes are so viscerally written that you can immediately picture the action as if you were seeing it in real life. So scorching hot. If you haven't read any of the books in this series, you can read them out of order, they'll make sense, but you should seriously make a plan to read about all of the sisters that came before Keara as well!

This is an exciting story about the youngest Stryker sister, Kaela, and the four Vakarran males who seek her out, capture her and mate. The four Vakarran warriors had different personalities, but together with Kaela they form a steamy, sexy, well-controlled, interactive family. As much as they demand obedience, Caleb, Valdus, Zane and Tavik recognize Kaela’s strength and devotion to finding her sisters and working with the Revolution to free humans and win the battle between slavery and freedom.

This is definitely a story filled with BDSM and adult themes. Even though Kaela was a virgin, she seems to respond and relate quite quickly to her men. They form a close and mutually encouraging union that enabled Kaela to hone her strengths to their fullest. Once two of her sisters are found, they all work together with the Resistance Force to overcome past aggression and evil.

plot holes

Overall, I like that this series had a plot but some things just don’t make sense. In what world would the sisters let a team go to get their sister and they didn’t go with them? Why would Alaina and Danika be okay with their sister being a “spoil of war”? In Book 3 it said, “The two of them had put together a group of four men to go bring her and the rest of my little band of human survivors here…..” Apparently they didn’t put a group together, they just chose a group that was already together. Kaela is an oral pro the first time? Yea right. I did like that in the last two books the girls got new, different Vakarran attributes. Nix being dumb and not bringing guards was improbable. Four men killed one hundred? Yea right! In the previous books, they said Kira was pregnant with sons.

The author switched tenses throughout the book.

I Liked It

I have read the entire series and agree this could be a stand alone book but reading the series makes it more enjoyable since you know the other characters talked about in this book.

I think the ending and epilogue could have been in more detail. We really didnt hear much about what happened on board the ship with Kira and her mates, besides in the first book. The ending brought them back, but only briefly. The names of her mates weren't even mentioned. I would have liked to known more about what happened to them. How they got imprisoned? Why? What life was like on the ship all this time especially for Kira? They now had the first battalion back.

Plus what about 5 or 10 years from now. What is life like for all of these people especially the sisters?
