Astonishing real-life rescue missions from on, under, and above the earth brought to you by the award-winning team behind acclaimed children's books Survivors and Heroes .

Scrambling from the wreckage of his school after an earthquake, a nine-year-old Sichuan boy rescued two unconscious friends. "I was hall monitor," he said afterwards. "It is my job to look after my classmates."
Whether dragging a friend from a blazing car, masterminding a search far below the earth's surface, or recovering astronauts from an aborted space mission, Rescue reveals the ingenuity, courage and doggedness of the human spirit all over the world. Another unputdownable collection of eye-opening and moving true adventures, both contemporary and historical. Impeccably told by David Long and brought to vibrant life by illustrator Kerry Hyndman.

This is a beautiful book full of short rescue stories. My 13 and 11 year-olds like it. I sell most of our books back to the bookstore, but I think this one is a keeper.
