Marcus
Moving in with my little sister's best friend isn't the brightest thing I've ever done. In fact, I'm pretty sure you can have me committed for accepting the offer.
I've been in love with her for as long as I can remember, and I've been able to keep my hands to myself for all these years. But now? Now, she’s moving on without me and I’m scrambling to keep up without letting her slip through my fingers when she’s always been just out of reach.

Natalie
The guy I've been in love with since I was a little girl is officially shacking up in my spare bedroom. Pretty sure I'm breaking every rule in the book by having him sleep under my roof, but it doesn't matter anymore.
Not when I've already let go of my silly crush to pursue other dreams that don't involve sexy guys who have only ever seen me as his little sister's shadow.
No, it's time to let him go and move on. I just hope I can.

Kelsie is a sucker for a love story with all the feels. When she's not chasing words for her next book, you will probably find her reading or, more likely, hanging out with her husband and playing with her three kiddos who love to drive her crazy.

She adores photography, baking, her yorkie, Bob, and her devon rex, Mara. And now that she's actively pursuing her writing dreams, she's set her sights on someday finding the self-discipline to not binge-watch an entire series on Netflix in one sitting.

Loved it! I also loved the end :)

description

Marcus was a lovely romance story. Spoken in dual perspectives. I was pulled into the story immediately. The plot was unpredictable and I loved that. This is the kind of story that makes you just have to keep flipping the pages. I liked leading characters, Nathalie and Marcus. Their romance was sweet and sexy. I was immediately pulled into their world. Marcus was such an ass to her at the beginning of their love story. But then he finally admits love to her.

I’ve read 3 books in Signature Sweethearts series and my favourite book is Sophie. They were supporting characters here and we find out what happen next in their life. I was happy for them and enjoyed reading chapters with Sophie. I would read more by this author. I think her writing will only continue to improve and I look forward to her next book.

This was super cute!

Loved the childhood friends to lovers story, I’m always a sucker for that trope. And the added best friend’s brother was a fun combo.

Kelsie has the ability to write a story that really sucks you in; and it was the perfect fast paced quick read I needed.

What to expect:

I was looking forward to this book and was very excited to see the notification that it was out. That said, I couldn’t help but feel underwhelmed. I can’t quite place my finger on what made me feel that way but after I finished I was left me saying “that’s it?” I enjoyed the book but something was missing for me and it was incredibly frustrating that it took as long as it did for the obvious solution of Marcus moving to Paris to come up. He’s a professional gamer it’s so silly it wasn’t immediately on anyone’s mind. All in all it was a sweet book and it was nice to see Marcus pull his head out of his ass.

Aww...this was such a sweet, fun and hot story about 2 people who were so perfect for each other but neither let their attraction be known to the other. What could go wrong? LOL Plenty especially when they live together. Enjoyable from start to finish! Jen

"I am so happy that book 6 is about Noogie and Marcus. I loved her in Sophie's book and I guess I knew before the first word read that her book would be even better.
I loved how she found herself after so many changes in her life. It wasn't easy going and she seriously thought about giving up her dreams as well.
The best part for me was when Marcus finally manned up and confessed his feelings for her. I loved it!!!

Finally Marcus gets his act together!!! Lana~White Hot Reads

Natalie and Marcus have known each other since childhood since she is his sisters best friend. Of course they both have always had crushes on each other but have never acted on it until now. Just when things start to go good, Natalie gets an opportunity of a life time and must decide what to do. I love these two characters and this was a super fact read. Well done Kelsie.

I received a copy of ‘Marcus’ by Kelsie Rae in exchange for an honest review, and it was an entertaining page-turner.

From the moment I began reading about Marcus and his crush on his little sister’s best friend, I was hooked. He is over protective, family orientated and meltingly smooth like butter. When he learns that his sister is pregnant after a one night stand, he is certain that he needs to move near her to be her protector and go to guy. What he doesn’t bank on, is becoming the roommate of the one girl who has always had his heart... Natalie.

Natalie is smart, witty, beautiful and incredibly talented, and one thing she is certain of is that she cannot fall for her best friends brother. She hates how overly protective he, and how he makes her heart face and her stomach flip whenever he is near her. But despite how irritating those things may be, she also cannot get him out of her head. But will she allow herself to fall?

The book is a feel good read with lots of relatable and entertaining characters. I love Sophie and her meddling ways and her need to play matchmaker for the two people she loves the most. She is funny and bratty but her exchanges with other characters were the best.

I found the book inspiring in terms of the idea of Natalie following her dream, instead of bending to the dream Marcus has. She doesn’t compromise her wants and that’s admirable in a character. But I also love Marcus for his inability to hold her back despite how painful potentially losing Natalie could be. He is the perfect boyfriend and everything you’d want in a knight in shining armour.

It was a fast-paced read which had me turning the pages. I felt like the book ended in a way that opens up the potential for more. I love friends to romance novels to this was my kind of read, and I’d recommend to all romance lovers.

NEW TO ME Author & Books! Thank you for the ARC opportunity, I appreciate it! I love LOVE second-chance romance and this is the sweetest kind!

While Marcus has loved Natalie his little sister's best friend...sadly Natalie had no idea. Meaning she finally gave up the notion that there would be a THEM and decided to move on with her life. As best as she can!

SWOON! Is how i can only describe Marcus, he is not only sweet, romantic but also one sexy man now! Natalie has to be one of my favorites, something about her that I was able to connect with right away. Marcus had me praying that one say i would run INTO a Marcus! GAH! So dreamy!!

When Marcus moved back to town to be closer to his sister who is pregnant with twins, he doesn't know that she had moved out of the little apartment she shared with Natalie. Which put Marcus exactly where he wanted and didn't want to be. So close to Natalie yet so far out of reach. I mean how hard is it to keep a relationship secret from a sister and best friend?!

This is a sweet misunderstanding small town, second chance romance that will have you loving every single page. I loved each characters, the transitions were smooth (which is great guys!) and the Author being new to me, this was fantastic to read! So much sweet!!

I am rating this book a 5 & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Kelsie Rae is a new author to me. This was a second chance at love story which I found to be sweet and romantic to read. I haven’t read any of the previous books in this series but had no trouble reading Marcus as a stand alone, although I think you might have a greater appreciation of Marcus and Natalie and their relationship if you were to read the other books in the series first, not required but perhaps an idea.

Marcus has loved Natalie for what seems like forever but she had no idea of his feelings so she has decided to move on with her life and ironically she has always felt the same about Marcus. These two are absolutely star crossed lovers, neither prepared to make a move. Will fate step in and lend a hand or are they both destined to remain apart?

When circumstances brings Marcus and Natalie together under the one roof, will their unresolved feelings finally get a chance to break free, will this be the start of something magical or will they both continue to bury their heads in the sand?

Marcus and Natalie are well suited, if only they can be brave enough to take a chance on one another. The secondary characters were delightful and I found myself cheering for Marcus and Natalie to get their happily ever after.

I enjoyed Ms. Rae’s style of writing and will looking at other books she has written when time permits.

Another awesome book. I absolutely loved every second of this story from the beginning to the end. It is a standalone but it would benefit you tremendously to read at least Sophie before Marcus.

Marcus is an all around good guy who has loved his little sister's best friend, Natalie for years but she doesn't have a clue about his feelings. Natalie has loved her best friend's older brother, Marcus the man who brings butterflies to her stomach since she was five. Unaware of his feelings she has decided to move on, but one small problem. Marcus is moving to be closer to his sister for the arrival of her twins. And it seems she is gaining a roommate Marcus. The best part Sophie is okay with her brother and best friend being together.

I am loving this series so far and I can't wait to read the next book in the series 'Anthony' coming in July.

I received an advance copy of this book. I am voluntarily giving my honest review, and I plan to buy this book when it becomes available.

Marcus by Kelsie Rae is a sibling’s-best-friend romance that is easily read as a standalone novella without having read prior books in the series.

The story is told in dual POV, but the heroine, Natalie, is the primary storyteller. Much of the dual narration explains the main characters’ individual assumption of unrequited love. This assumption creates the all the angst in the story. That aspect of the story played out a little too long for me.

I loved Natalie and empathized with her feelings of being a fifth wheel as her best mates began pairing off and finding their happily-ever-after relationships. I really loved that instead of just boo-hooing about a lack of relationship, she invested in herself and her future.
Her besties are nice, supportive characters who were featured in previous books in the series. I didn’t care for Marcus much as the alpha hero of the story. His over-protective, big-brother behavior was a bit over the top and unexplained. I may have felt differently with a little more development of the character. His job as “professional video game player” was odd. It is not stated that he is quality control tester or developer, but a player. Is there such a thing? My inability to let that go is minor, and my real issue with Marcus is his presumed privilege of controlling his sister’s and Natalie’s lives on the pretense of protecting them. It wasn’t a swoon-worth attribute (there was no real danger), but a Neanderthal, antiquated attitude that reflected a personality that most women would consider to be controlling and/or domineering. Perhaps a backstory for Marcus would have explained this otherwise undesirable trait.

Aside from those few issues, I enjoyed the story. I like Ms. Rae’s writing style and the sweet nature of her romances. As the characters give in and begin interacting, their relationship became interesting. The reader is in on Natalie’s secret activities, so it is easy to see the source of the story’s major conflict. The straightforward denouement is charming and satisfying.

The straightforward plot and likable characters make Marcus a nice, breezy romance.

3.5 stars

I am absolutely loving Kelsie Rae’s Signature Sweethearts series! The push and pull between Marcus and Natalie in this book was everything. They have both been in love with the other for so long, but neither one of them has ever ‘fessed up. Natalie didn’t think that he saw her as anything other than Sophie’s shadow, and Marcus was too stuck on the fact that Natalie is his sister’s best friend and how him dating her would affect the girls’ relationship.

Now that Sophie has moved in with Nathan and Marcus and Natalie are reluctant roommates, things shift between them. The scene with Luke from Book 1, Liv, was one of my favorite parts. I loved what Luke said to Marcus about regrets and how it kind of pushed him into finally making a move. Of course, that comes just as Natalie had finally decided to do something for herself, and it will have a major impact on their future.

I love a slow burn romance and this was a fabulous one. The sexy times are implied, but not described (as with all of Kelsie’s books) — and it makes no lick of a difference. The relationship between Marcus and Natalie is wonderfully described, and I loved how they progress from both thinking that their feelings were unrequited to being in a full-blown relationship.

Since these books are all interconnected standalones, there are glimpses of some of the other couples as well, which I always enjoy seeing when I’m reading a series.

Overall, this was a wonderful feel-good best friend’s brother story! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Marcus is only the second book I have read in the Signature Sweethearts Series and I’m desperate to find time to read the other books in this series, as I have only read a couple of these stories I can assure you each can be read as stand-alone although I’m sure like me you will want to catch up with the previous books and characters. I’m really not sure why I’m so late to the Kelsie Rae party because I love her style of writing and I will certainly be reading her other work as soon as time permits.
Marcus has loved Natalie for many years after all she was always around as his little sisters best friend what he didn’t know was the feelings he had were mutual, Natalie had crushed on him for as long as she could remember but neither of them wanted to ruin the friendships so that line had been crossed until they find themselves as adults sharing the same home. Once the line is crossed is there any going back will friendships survive and will their feelings grow stronger as they find themselves on different parts of the World, well I guess you need to read the book to find that out !!!
This book has it all, it’s sweet, it’s romantic, it has characters you will love, the witty banter and the story flows at the perfect pace and I for one can’t wait for more in the Signature Sweethearts Series.

SWOON!!!!! In major love with Marcus!!! Sexiest book boyfriend ever! I am falling hardcore for all things Kelsie Rae!! I am so grateful to be given the opportunity to read and review for this lovely lady!!

I loved Marcus in Sophie and couldn’t wait to see how he handled things with Natalie!!! I am a big fan of best friends brother stories and swoon super hard but I’m a romantic and hope for love! I love how Natalie grew so much from one book then to her own book and at the end of this book she was a rockstar! Marcus.... now he was a surprise to me because I didn’t expect his reaction to everything that happens. I understand some things but boy did I want to smack him across the face and give him one heck of a lecture. He may be a sexy gamer man but it doesn’t excuse stupidity and stubbornness.

I love this group of people and the way this author rocks the shit out of it every time!! I wish it went on for a little longer with Natalie but I loved what I got! And I still love Sophie and her meddling ways!! She’s so freaking cute!!! Swooned, cried and laughed throughout the whole thing (with a little cussing at some) and couldn’t have fallen in love more with Marcus! Great job Kelsie!!!

Oh Marcus, Marcus, Marcus. You are not new for us at all. We got a little insight to him in Jude and Quincy’s book. The fearless team leader. Then we got an even more of an insight to who he was in Sophie and Nathan’s book. Finally…finally! Kelsie Rae comes out with a book for Marcus, with none other than Natalie. Like I knew these two were going to happen when we got a brief look in his head in Jude and Quincey’s book. And wow!! I was not disappointed. Who knew that video playing guys could be muscular, good looking, and alphas in the romance department? If that’s how some of them are then I’ve been looking for love in all of the wrong places (joking…kind of!) Natalie has been best friends with Sophie for her whole life. Where one was, the other wasn’t too far behind. But Natalie surprised me. In Rhett and Indie’s book, Indie described Natalie as a budding baker. But when I finally read what Indie talked about, I was surprised. Natalie has been cooking under the supervision of Chef Thomas, whom I fell in love with when Rhett and Indie did that couples cooking class, and he’s pleasantly surprised by her natural talent cooking.

Natalie and Marcus, kind of reminded me of Stefan and Caroline in the very, very, very beginning of The Vampire Diaries. Do you remember when Caroline basically threw herself at Stefan just to be shot down? Or even Bonnie and Jeremy? Bonnie and Jeremy knew that a relationship between them would be awkward considering Bonnie is best friends with his sister. If you consider the turmoil they had, then that’s what Marcus was fighting when he no longer saw Natalie as just his little sister’s best friend.

So far, out of the whole Signature Sweethearts series, my favorite character is hands-down Natalie. For so long she felt like a shadow. The side dish, The appetizer. When she finally found something that she was good at, she felt like the main course. And when her and Marcus were finally able to have their chance at something, she still felt like she wasn’t enough. This story was another 5 stars for me. I would love some extensions of previous stories: Liv, breezy, and Jude to be exact ;)

Kelsie's Signature Sweethearts certainly are a bunch of sweethearts.
I am so in love with Marcus and the rest of the gals & guys from this fabulous series.
However, Marcus holds a special place in my heart.

Swoonworthy, sexy, hot, very protective alpha male. Marcus has been in love with his sister's best friend Natalie forever. Natalie has also been in love with Marcus for eternity, but she has always felt out of place by her friends and has an opportunity to fulfil her dreams.

A beautiful tender sweet second chance romance that will have you shouting from rooftops and leave you with that toe tingly feeling.

A perfect addition to Kelsie's fabulous Signature Series. Each story can be read as a standalone but it's best to start from the beginning so you can get the background of each character in the series. I can't wait for Anthony's story. Highly highly recommended. You will be a Kelsie fan after you pick up one of her books and get engrossed in her stories.

Marcus by Kelsie Rae is the next book in her Signature Sweethearts series, and it was everything I have come to love about this author’s writing. I have been reading her since her debut novel and will continue to one-click her books. Though each book can be read as a standalone, each is about interconnecting couples and are great reads!

Marcus and Natalie have harbored feelings for each other for a long time, but neither has ever acted on them. Now Marcus is back and living under the same roof as Natalie. Could this finally be his chance? However, Natalie has decided enough is enough. It is time for her to move on from Marcus. How will it all end?

Marcus by Kelsie Rae was such a sweet romance. It was charming, a bit angsty and had all the feels. I loved Marcus and Natalie, though it took them a long time to get it all together! This was a captivating and delightful slow burn romance.

My heart broke a thousand times for these two. Years of waiting and pining for each other . . . yet they tell no one. Well Marcus doesn't. So I continued to read and by the end my heart was pieced back together again and I was once again all warm and fuzzy. I love that this author makes you feel the passion as well as the heart ache and keeps it clean in the process. The emotions of the characters seep through the pages and keep you yearning for more. Marcus, once he starts talking that is, is a dream and willing to do what it takes to prove his love (isn't that what awesome book boyfriends do?) This author takes you on a wonderful journey in her reads and does it in the best ways possible.

This story sucked me in from the first page. I have so been looking forward to this story from Kelsie. She gives you sweet and sexy and makes you fall in love with bossy, protective and best of intentions Marcus. He definitely made me swoon and want to have his babies. Natalie has been through the ringer and you will adore watching her chase her dreams while she will also test your patience as she doubts her forever. You will want to read this book for the “main dish” alone. The tender and frustrating moments between Natalie and Marcus keep you rooting for them from beginning to end. You will wish your best friend had an older brother like Marcus who will surprise and excite you. Kelsie, Marcus gives me all the feels and makes me want to fall in love all over again.

I love Marcus and Natalie so much. You felt the spark between them in Jude, knew Natalie was carrying a torch in Rhett, when we saw the two of them in Sophie we knew that their story would be a great read, and boy does it work!

Marcus moves across the country to be closer to Sophie now that she’s pregnant with twins. Little does he know that Sophie has moved out of the apartment she shared with Natalie and in with Nathan.

The two spend so much time fighting their feelings, keeping secrets, and running from each other and themselves, it will be a miracle if they can make things work. Their romance is sweet and fun and has the unexpected.

Kelsie Rae is my go to author if I am in the mood for a cute, sweet, easy-to-read romance! She has created this perfect blend of characters through her Signature Sweetheart series that are all connected in some way. They are all friends that help and support each other. Each book can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend this book and the whole series!
Marcus and Natalie have known each other since they were kids and have had a connection for as long as they remember but taking the kind of relationship that has been based on friendship to the next level is risky. In the end neither could deny that the feelings they had towards each other was so much more.

Together at last

Marcus is an amazing book! We have been waiting for his story for a while now and it’s finally here!

The build up of this relationship between Marcus and Natalie, as they’ve been dancing around and ignoring each other, is years in the making and what a dance it was.

They are wonderful together and everyone knew they were perfect for one another except them (darn stubborn people).

Kelsie is a one click author for me in both the ebook and the paperback variety. I have them all. She writes amazing stories that are sweet and steamy without going overboard.

Again we see our returning favorites from past books and I love that! I’ll say it forever!

Kelsie Rae has done it again- she has written an incredible, sweet romance that made me feel all the feels. I love how she, throughout the series, has connected these characters and story lines. Her writing style is fun and her characters are loveable. I was sad to think the series was ending and then there is a teaser for the next book! (Thank the Book Gods!). Marcus is well worthy of the five stars. I would give it more if that were an option. Wells of e, Kelsie Rae!

This is only the second Kelsie Rae book I’ve read and it’s just as good as the last one! Marcus is a best friend’s brother romance that had me swooning throughout the book!

Natalie and Marcus have feelings for each other, yet neither will make the move. But when Marcus moves in with Natalie, all bets are off for this cute couple!

I adore Natalie and Marcus. Their witty banter, the way Marcus takes care of Natalie, all of the secondary characters...GAH! This book was full of sweet moments, a big of angst and a whole lotta love! I highly recommend this book!

Natalie is the wholesome girl next door character type who wears her heart on her sleeve.Marcus seemed to be the type to go with the flow of life. A baker and a video game player come face to face with one another in a sticky situation. Can Marcus & Natalie deal with seeing each other day in & day out as they both deny themselves there feelings for each other?I was so anxious to see how Marcus & Natalie's story would unravel.

I love the fact that Natalie gets her HEA in this story. And I don't mean just with the guy. She steps out and does what makes her happy. I love that. I love that Marcus is a protector. He's a little alpha when it comes to those he loves...and a lot of sweet. It's fun watching these two admit their feelings for each other. And I always love the little cameos in the book.
