A great second book in this series.

This series is original and interesting. I love the guys and it broke my heart to see what happened to them after all they been through. Whitney is an amazing female MC. She doesn't make stupid choices and she really loves her guys.

I hope they get their happily ever after.

This is the second book in this Series, and it is incredible. Starting where the first book left off, this storyline continues in the world of Zombies and the battle of wills between the controlled and the uncontrolled. Whitney are her guys are still battling Whitney’s brother Dexter and the evil Dr. Karlton. With more of the Controlled becoming Uncontrolled, they are having to handle more and more problems of the general populace. The emotional connection this group share within their “circuit” is astounding. So different from any other Reverse Harem I have ever read. Never thought I would enjoy a Zombie Apocalypse, but this one has great characters and an even better storyline! I can’t wait to see what is coming next!

How messed up must one be to enjoy the feel of another person in one’s head and to actually want to keep that connection going, or is this what love becomes at the times of zombies, end-of-live-as-we-know-it and world extinction-level events?

I must say, this book killed me a little, I felt the pull from my chest all the way to my toes. Bloody Damn! I loved everything about this book and more so because it is small enough to consume in one sitting.

Thank Authors, book 3 is already available and I don’t have to wait. This, right here, kids, is why I only go for series that have concluded, lesson well-learned from GRRM.

May not want to read until Deluge is out.

It wasn't long ago I was asked if I would rather have a heart breaking ending or a cliffhanger. I think these two made that thing and LAUGHED!

If I wasn't so mad, I'd be crying right now.

Thunder Rolling: A Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance (The Storm Book 2) Kindle Edition
by Ripley Proserpina  (Author), Rebecca Royc
I received an eARC from the authors and am choosng to leave a fair and honest review

The only thing that is better than a Rebecca Royce book or a Ripley Proserpina book is a book by both.

Wow. Thunder Rolling really is a hurricane of a book. The story picks up shortly after Lightning Strikes left of, with Whitney Lake and her six men settled in the new Zero. The men have been brought back to something like life from their time as Controlled. The Controlled are like zombies.
Let me state I am so not a zombie kind of girl. For me, I prefer my undead to have fangs and turn into wolves or bats! But there is something about Ms Royce's and Ms Proserpina's zombies that I just love.
They remind me of R from Warm Bodies.

This story starts with Whitney using her healing powers too much and being struck ill. The search for medication makes the thunder roll as the guys begin to use the supernatural powers they have acquired by coming back from being Controlled.

Some stories are plot driven, other stories work because of the depth of characters. This series works because the plot isn't forgotten because of how deeply we dive into the hearts and souls of the characters. Basically, this is perfect balance.

The writing is emotional and the end is not only heartrending but it is a tearjerker. I rarely cry while reading, but I was a mess for hours and unable to read another fiction book because there is no way it could ever compare.

I'm aching for the characters and in desperate need of the next book

This book would receive the highest rating, no matter how many stars. I can't possibly recommend it enough. These writers just get better and better.

5 stars out of 5

Whitney brought her guys back to life. Now she is their life. They don't understand everything about their connection just yet but she is their miracle, so when she gets sick John, Isaiah, Nick, Brandon, Dante, and Carson will do whatever it takes to make her better. They are willing to go to any extreme or pay any price for their love.

This book should not work. Zombies. Romance. Reverse Harem. These do not go together. But this story doesn't only work, it's a beautiful love story. The creativity, brilliance, and sensitivity of this story and these characters are unrivaled. With these two authors, I can't be surprised. This is my ideal type of RH; the guys have a true bond, the girl is their everything, their reason. The girl is smart, kind, strong with enough love to go around and her wonderful guys adore her. John, Isaiah, Nick, Brandon, Dante, and Carson each make their feelings clear, they want the best for Whit and they are grateful for each moment they share. Her needs come first. It's an undead fairy tale.

The emotions this book evokes from me cannot be denied. The POV's from the guys gutted me. Having known life and death and then afterlife as a Controlled they never hesitate to risk themselves for the girl they all love. The selflessness, the bravery, the devotion they show is admirable. Knowing that it goes both ways and that Whit would do all she could do for each of her guys makes their love story even purer. There's a sweetness to these characters seldom found. Living on the edge of death makes everything more intense. Each scene is weighted.

Then...Ladies... I trusted you. This cliffhanger is one of the most brutal I have ever encountered. Unless the next book is ready for edits, you need to be writing. My heart is hurting. I'm ready to see Whit at her most fierce. I need the HEA.

OMG that cliff hanger! My heart hurts so much, I need book three right now to find out what happens! There was so much going on and they just all got back together again and now THAT happened

Thunder Rolling continues off from where Lightning Strikes left off. Whitney and the guys are still trying to figure out their connection and powers but their relationship is still going strong. They still don't have a hold on controlling their powers and connection too well and it ended up leading to some drastic decisions near the end of the book. However, you can clearly see the love and sacrifice each person was willing to make for the others and it just hurt my heart. They've been through so much and Dexter (Whitney's brother) is still clinging onto the guys and being a huge thorn in their sides. This book was such a roller coaster ride and I did tear up at the end! I'm anxious for the next book so I can find out what happens and I'm hoping Whitney kicks Dexter's ass.

This is the second book in this series and despite the fact i hate zombies i love the books!
It starts exactly where the first book lefts us and we see the guys and whitney struggling.
I love the connection these group has and i love the world building and the atmosphere of the book.
Rebbeca Royce and Ripley Proserpina is an amazing writing combo!
Can't wait for more!!!

If you haven’t read the first book in this series, Lightning Strikes, you will want to stop reading this review as I will refer to things that will be spoilers for book one below.

This series remains a unique one to me, as I have not read any other reverse harem stories about zombies (though I know there are some others out there). In this second book, as the blurb states, nearly the entire book is spent dealing with the consequences of Whitney becoming sick, and what it means for their circuit. There are occasional jokes made, and a lot of thinking about how much they love Whitney and her them during all of the various POV chapters - but though their love for each other is clearly driving their fight for safety and peace, I was wanting more romance. It also seems like they figure out causes and solutions for problems out of the blue, though some of this is due to their strange powers. I do find the whole concept of the circuit and powers - different for each member - interesting; just maybe not enough for as much attention as it gets in this second book. As usual, I enjoy the writing style of both of these authors and there is also one heck of climax and ending - a cliffhanger of sorts - which sets up the final book really well.

Whitney's evil brother Dex controls the infected (zombies) with his mind. But some have broken free uncontrolled zombies they have free will.
Whitney has formed a link with 6 of the Dante, Carson, Nick, John, Brandon and Isaiah that link has healed them making thier heart beat. A huge group of them are setting up homes in the wildlife center.
So now earth has 3 different groups controlled zombies , uncontrolled zombies and humans but there aren't many of them anymore
This is the 2nd part of the story and wow will it mess with your mind and heart lol poor Whitney. I can't tell ya any more then that. You do need to read the 1st book lighting strikes before you read this one. I can not wait for the next book to come out!
Story was full of action , drama, mystery, spice and so much more. The characters are fantastic. Their are some I love and some i love to hate lol don't miss it. Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly love it.

Wow. WOW. Mind. Blown. I was soooo not prepared for that ending. I think my mouth might still be hanging open a little bit. This series is so creative, so innovative, and so insightful. I have a lot of favorite Rebecca Royce books and series, but this is right up there at the tippy top. Who would have thought that the lives and love of six technically dead men could be so compelling and evocative? This is definitely not your typical zombie story (hopefully Whitney will forgive me for using the z word). It’s the kind of story that gets right into your soul. All I can say is… well done Ms. Royce, well done. I already couldn’t wait for the release of the next book in this series. Now, the wait will be sheer torture… and so completely worth it.

*I was given an ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to review. All opinions are my own.

Why does love have to be so hard sometimes. Then there are times when you would give your life for the one you love. Well that's where this book takes us. The family have their new sanctuary and all uncontrolled are welcome. They are trying to organize the place and people. Then it all goes to hell when Whit gets sick and it's gets worse. The guys start to panic. Dante receives a message that changes everything.
Omg, I absolutely hated the ending and not because of the writing. It's all the pain and suffering that Whit goes through. I wanted to cry with her.
Overall I loved this book. I'm rooting good things to happen in book 3. Whit is probably gonna go Laura Croft on her brother. He needs a good ass kicking. This is another winning series for these authors.
I voluntarily agreed to review this book. My review is my own honest opinion.

Middle book syndrome

I like this a little less than the first but I still enjoyed it immensely. I think this suffered a bit from middle book syndrome (it's like middle child syndrome for books). The poor middle books never get the same attention as the first and last ones.

I digress. This is still a fantastic series but I grew a bit tired of everyone acting like a martyr. They never stop and talk to each other before doing something stupid. They're all so ready to sacrifice themselves for the greater good. I do still love Whit but we spent less time with her than they guys this book. And the guys we all getting on my nerves. Just stop and talk to each other for a minute.

Anyway, I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. That cliffhanger was brutal so I hope it comes out soon.

The story started right after they have rescued John from Whitney's evil mastermind of a brother, Dex; and with Dante getting his body parts slowly. However, since they are now seemingly human again, they are now prone to exposure to diseases. Only, they didn't expect to deal with it sooner and it happened to the least expected person. They have to act fast or all will be lost.

OH. MY. GOD. I am sitting here, gasping, then screaming after reading that plot twist and then seriously contemplating throwing my e-reader. I seriously didn't see it coming. No. Way. Since then, I got this feeling that something more is gonna happen and it did! I was like, noooooo! This can't be happening! With the way this story ends, I'm dying to read the next book to see how the authors will wrap this all up.

I am loving this series so far and book two Thunder Rolling just amped it up a notch. If you have not read the first book, I would recommend to, so that you know what is going on and the characters. That being said this does end on a cliffhanger but, I believe it helps to lead up to the third book. As with the first, there is action, drama, suspense, a touch of danger, humor and just down right a well written book. The characters are fun and bada@@.

In Thunder Rolling we have Whitney and her guys, Nick, John, Carson, Bradon and Dante all working to build a safe place for the surviors. But when Whitney is struck sick, the guys start searching for what is needed for her to get well. What will happen? Can they find something in time? The guys will do anything to save her, but will it be in time? Read to find out!!

This book had me holding my breath and sniffling quite a bit.

After the destruction of Roanoke, Whitney, who told everyone to run, is now running out of energy.

Zero has become a refuge and with so many new arrivals there are problems every day. What they didn't realize was the circuit that binds them was also now killing Whitney. The energy the guys are pumping through to her is preventing the natural healing that a fever does.

As Whitney's fever climbs higher they knew they had to find more help. With the summons from Dr.Karlton, the evil one working with Dex, Dante makes the decision to go to him and get Whitney cured.

The depths of the evil, the pain they all feel, the love and devotion, all had me turning the pages. I certainly didn't see what was coming, at least I was in denial.

I am so glad the next book is coming out real soon, I need more!

My heart is utterly broken right now. As if Whit and her guys hadn't already been to heck and back already. I have faith that in book three (the conclusion of their story) it will be worth this pain. The bulk of the story is trying to learn what's wrong with Whit and trying to get her better. Suffice to say LOTS happens alongside this....our gang sticks together and desperately tries to find answers....as usual roadblocks, surprises and evil jerks pop up....yet our crew fight no matter what. Take the plunge and see their journey. If you haven't read book one yet, you MUST read that first or be lost at the character dynamics. This series is awesome! Lots of action, and a fierce woman at the center of these guys lives. You won't regret taking the time to read these amazing books! 💗😊

No spoilers of any kind except this and that is there is a wicked cliffhanger at the end of this story.
But other than that I absolutely loved this book and I am impatiently waiting for the next book in this series.
Rebecca Royce and Ripley Proserpina make an amazing story weaving team.
They like to take their readers on awesome roller coaster rides and leave them wanting and needing more by the time they get to the end of the ride.
So yes I most definitely do recommend this book but if you haven’t read the first book then I highly suggest that you do that way you don’t get confused as to what’s happening and who’s who.

Thunder Rolling: The Storm #2 by Rebecca Royce and Ripley Proserpina
*I received an ARC of this novella from the author in exchange for an honest review*
3 Stars!
Slight Spoilers!
Through no fault of her own, Whitley spends a lot of her time in this book out-of-action. Although it made sense for the story, I prefer my female main characters taking ass and kicking names ;)
The action was fast and the story kept me on my toes. However, I found that the book seemed more like an episode of a good show, instead of a season on its own.
As always, I definitely recommend this series for anyone who loves the RH genre 😊

This second book in the series continues to build on the action of the first book. Whitney and her men are still learning a lot about their abilities and some of them apparently come at a great cost.

I have really been enjoying this storyline and it is different from what I typically read. It is definitely more than just a zombie story. I love how all the relationships are growing and they really are learning to rely on one another.

There are some real surprises and heartbreak in this book and the cliffhanger is really going to leave you wanting more.

I look forward to the next book.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

I love this book!!!! It’s one of the only post-apocalyptic, zombie books I love! I love Whitney, Dante, Brandon, Nick, Carson, John, and Isaiah!!!! This book has so many turns and twists, and the end is so suspenseful!!!! I need to know what Whitlee, as Dante calls her, will do to get her guys back! And how are they going to end this mess with Dex and the bad doctor!? I loved this book more than the first because it centered on Whitney, and her guys more. Their relationship was explored more and their family dynamic was so close in this book. All I can say is that I highly recommend this book, and I’m anxiously awaiting the last book in this trilogy, The Deluge!!!

Have tissues. Be ready to bawl your eyes out. This story is as unique as the characters in this book. He whole time through this book I was like, nicks my favorite. Dante’s my favorite. Brandon’s my favorite..... I think they’re all my favorites. It’s heartbreaking to read about Dante deciding what’s best for Whitney. To watch Whitney suffer. This is a perfect follow up, you are already invested in these characters and this book only makes you love them more...or you know hate them. But the ending.... I wasn’t ready. It was 11pm and I wasn’t ready .. I stared at my ceiling for an hour. But that’s what good writing does. Now can I have the next book please?

Readers are once again treated to Whitney's world. A world that has been turned upside down. Now Whitney is fighting for her life and her men will do all that they can to help Whitney. Their love is strong and nothing will stand in their way. I enjoyed seeing the relationships deepen as they fight not only to survive but for their love as well. It was nice to see Whitney grow as her story progresses. Their story is an interesting twist on zombies and romance. It is full of emotions and at times will pull on your heart. The author mixes these emotions with the action nicely and will have you eagerly waiting to see what will happen to Whitney and her men next.

This is book two in this very entertaining and unique series. It does end on a cliffhanger, so prepare yourself for it. As this intense and involving series continues Whitney, John, Isaiah, Nick, Brandon, Dante, and Carson have their hands full. The unknown, danger, drama and deep, powerful emotions are all playing there part as the roller coaster ride that is this story continues. The plot of this series is so very different and yet somehow it all works. And it works well. Can't wait for book three! I am posting a truthful review by my own choice.

Intense and Amazing!

Once again these two authors have written a book that is filled with action, suspense and intrigue. The main characters have grown in their relationship and are still finding out who they are and what special qualities they each possess. The story is intense from the first chapter right to the end. It kept me guessing and definitely on the edge of my seat. I love these characters and their amazing (and steamy) interactions. I can’t wait to read how this story finally ends.

Fantastic writing once again. Highly recommend.

Disappointing

I was so revved up after the first book and very intrigued with the world building that had taken place. This second book lost so much steam. Whitney had a fairly minor role due to unforeseen circumstances. Her men, made one convoluted mistake after another and we were stuck dealing with an over the top evil mad scientist making the calls. It was really difficult to believe and I lost a lot of interest in the story. Hopefully things will improve with the next book. This one just felt like a whole lot of filler.

I love these authors and all of these characters. I have to admit that I struggled with the first 30-40% of this book. It seemed a little choppy but I was able to find my groove from that point on. . I know this is a set up for a great end in the next book. I loved the first one in this series and I know this is the bridge and set up for book 3. I did feel connected to them all and the end hurt my heart, but I know it will all work out. I do have a stronger attachment to them after all that happened in this book and I really look forward to the next one. They are great characters and this is a really unique storyline.

Thunder Rolling brings Whitney and her men to a place where they need to face off against hardship. The angst continues as their relationships grow and as they struggle to find their way and the whys. The world building of these two authors is fantastic. The emotional road they take you on is worth the vexation and anxiety of waiting for what happens next.

This is the second book, you definitely need to read the first and will be begging to read the third.

What just happened!?!

I am not sure how I feel about Rebecca and Ripley right now.  This book kept me wondering what was coming next.  Every time I thought I knew . . . Bam!  Thunderstruck, I am wondering why?  Why?!  So many feels in this one and not all of them good.  Of course there are still too many unanswered questions and definitely more to come.   I can't even ask my questions without spoilers, so I must wait to see what the next book has in store for us.
