Rate this book
Striving hard to think of a creative idea?Finding ideas that can't stand the first round of validation?Stuck with implementation of your idea? If yes, you need to 'dismantle'. In real life, human brains are wired to think in straight lines, suppressing their creative instincts from their childhood. There's no school that will encourage dismantling or deconstructing their linear thinking. As a result, we are producing economists who cannot predict a financial crisis, doctors who lack clinical empathy, managers who lack people skills and CEOs who can't look beyond the balance sheet. To generate one idea, you need creative thinking. To generate many fresh ideas, you need a new system for creative thinking. Dismantle breaks your conventional thinking, deconstructs your mind and helps build your personal creativity machine.

This is a Self-help book. I have read a few Self-help book but mostly they are filled with lots of informstion those are mostly theoretical . But if you try to apply some "theory " in your daily life you will be puzzled . If you can not help yourself after reading a Self book , then how can you call this a Self-help book ?

But my experience with dismantle is quite different. May be you know that I have taken a break from instagram for a short time period. But this is all for the book "Dismantle" to "Dismantle" my life !

I have picked this up at right moment of my life where I really wanted to get back my Creativity because at that time I was feeling like my Creativity has stopped flowing ! And I was hustling . When you want to fit in a creative world , this struggle is real .

The author has written everything after doing a practical research . So they are easy to follow and practical, which is undoubtedly necessary .

The author has explained each and every chapter very briefly which I really appreciate .

The language is easy enough to read if even you are a beginner.

It's a 4/5 ⭐️

“Creative people are creative each in their own way.”
This book will not tell you how to have creative ideas but how to dismantle your old creativity machine and assemble a new improved one. The purpose of the book as the author said was to help individuals achieve their unending stream of useful ideas and generate those ideas into an almost infinite variety of ways.
The blurb acknowledging how to build a unique personal creativity machine was the reason I was drawn to this book in the first place. Second, I really into non-fiction books lately.
Dismantle talks through four sections categorized as ideation, validation, actuation and building the personal creativity machine. Explaining from how to cultivate wild ideas to innovate in dark corners, from telling a story to finding your true passion, dismantle will guide you in the process of deconstructing the mind and generating a creative thinking system.
The interesting part of the book where the author has shared the real creative short stories of a few of his students who did well in the creative thinking aspect. Some of the other few chapters were so good to read, that I marked all those paragraphs to read again. Besides, the narration was easy and convincing, making me stick to the book until the end.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hope that it shall not disappoint the readers who decide to pick it. This could be a great read to realize how dismantling may benefit in the increase of the personal creative process.

I received this book from HTBrunch as part of the #brunchbookchallenge 2018 winner’s hamper. For some reason I’d been wary of it and left it sandwiched between the thrillers and romances at my bedside…until I wasn't.

Dismantle explains how to build creativity. Whether you’re striving hard to think of a creative idea, finding ideas that can't stand the first round of validation, or stuck with the implementation of your idea, what you need to do is 'dismantle'.

To generate one idea, you need creative thinking. To generate many fresh ideas, you need a new system for creative thinking. Dismantle breaks your conventional thinking, deconstructs your mind and helps build your personal creativity machine.

Broadly segregated in three sections, the author illustrates a three-step DIY method to enhance creativity:
Ideate – generate novel and useful ideas.
Validate – distinguish the bad from the good.
Actuate – move from ideas to products that change the world.

A fourth section shares what creativity means to different people and serves as a framework to help recognise and channel your creativity.

The concepts explained here are broken down into simple, methodical steps making them easy to comprehend and apply.

Whether you are a designer/creator/innovator, working in fashion/food/tech/art/music, Dismantle will help you reinvigorate your creative process to innovate and execute effective ideas.

The cover shows a face with a lot of entanglement and has a pure glimpse of a non fiction book. This book unlike other non fiction books has practical applications to all the theoretical nuances stated. The author has done a good amount of research and homework before writing the book.
The book is very straightforward and doesn't beat around the Bush this I liked it a lot. The narration is smart and lucid language is used thus can be easily read by anyone.
A budding entrepreneur should definitely read it to understand how creativity is also important and how one can inculcate that by dismantling one's mind. Every topic has been discussed with intricate details and a lot of care thus indicating that the effort the author has put in.
