This is a really excellent book. From the intuitive visual explanations of dimensionality analyses to the snarky deadpan-academic humour and personable writing style, I was thoroughly entertained while also learning some new things.

Particularly appreciated the commentary and follow-up on the turkey thief story from the LDA data example.

I am so happy to be finished with my third (and last) doctoral statistics class!!! After my 3.5 hour exam last night, I can happily say I would never like to see this book again, but I will probably feel differently once my take-home statistics qualifier rolls around. :)

On a more serious note, this was one of the more conversational statistics books I have used. And believe me, we did read a lot of it. Out loud. In class. Our cute little Egyptian professor even read us the Preface. Oh, the stories I will be able to tell my students someday when they complain about my classes!!!

with 2 degrees in math, i am faily certain that this book is important enough to keep on my office shelf for my career. in fact, i have two copies- one for my office, and one for my shelf at home. i have had reason to refer to it/them often.

i thought that the examples were clear, that the book was readable without having to have a course to understand it (the course was good by the way, but not necessary to read and understand the book), and that it had an excellent selection of relevant topics in one text.
