Is there a road to redemption? Her coming into my life was a miracle. She saved me. But she also came in like rolling thunder to my lightning strikes. Opinionated, aggressive, argumentative, and fuck did it make me react. She is the first woman to ever call me on my bullshit, causing my blood to boil like no other. The problem is, she sees right through me. I’m a bad man with no redeeming qualities or is that true? I might not be who she wants, but I can be the only man she will ever need, and she is the only one that can penetrate my blackened heart. The price is high but with her, I get not one but two hearts that will be solely mine. Fire and ice! Freedom is all I wanted and what I got were surprises. All wrapped up in a man that was everything I hated. Life was supposed to be simple. Stick to the plan, that’s all I had to do and then he came in tempting me and pushing my buttons. So why did I let him get under my skin, in my thoughts, and in my bed? There is too much to risk but what a delicious risk it would be. Is it possible to love someone you hate?
Monique Orgeron is a Contemporary Romance w/ suspense author. Stern Family Saga
Written by Monique Orgeron’s eldest, most beautiful, and intelligent daughter. (My sister is going to hate this part.) My mom happens to be the most caring, loving, and stubborn person I know, well anyone knows. She gives 100% percent of herself to everyone and has given up so much of herself for my sister and I. For twenty-one years she has poured her heart and soul into making sure we know that we are loved and that we can do anything we put our minds too, but it was about time she figured that out about herself. Up until this year I hadn’t seen my mom do anything for only her, but this book has allowed her to travel the world through the pages of a book, make new friends, and feel the joy of doing something exciting. There is a new light behind her eyes and it is just making me feel more joy than she can ever imagine. While she might be annoying most of the time, I am so thrilled that she is finally allowing herself to grow as a person and not spend all of her energy on her family. It has been a long journey of self-discovery for my mom; she has gone from domestic supermom to domestic goddess throughout the process of writing. We are so very excited and proud of you! I love you as big as the world. -Bria and Tony
Monique can tell a story like none other. This book had me busting out laughing. It kept me on my toes through the whole thing. I just knew Teddy was going to steal my heart and he did.
Teddy was introduced to reader several times within the series A Stern Family Saga. I highly recommend out start your journey there as parts of Redemption, Youngblood book 1 reference are made in that direction. And while you don't need to read to enjoy Teddy's story I can't guarantee that you'll get the full effect.
Teddy definitely is one of the most flawed characters I have ever met but yet at the same time one of the most genuine ones also. His role of the villain follows him throughout the book and if your like me you're always rooting for the villain. He is bad, Monique built up his character and counties to build him up on the mysterious side but in Redemption we get all of Teddy. Seriously you get all of him, the good, the bad, the ugly, and the man will make you scream his name one way or another.
While the plot the intrigued me, by adding Ashlyn ( I believe she is a much more toned down version of Teddy) who is not just a beautiful, sexy, smart goddess of a woman but she is a single mother into the mix it allowed for the storyline not to just be a superficial guy meet girl, they hate each other, yada yada yada type story. It added heart, the heart that Teddy needed.
The only thing I wasn't pleased with was the rushed ending, ok maybe not the ending but the epilogue which I think could have been more intertwined with book 2 or just given its own chapter. It just felt as if that was thrown on quickly like a "I forgot to add moment" I think it was the jumping in time momentum that made me feel that way. However, whatever you do.... DO NOT SKIP IT!!!! I repeat do not skip it because the last three sentences are a killer. And will leave your jaw permanently on the floor.
TEDDY HAS BEEN CLAIMED BY ME! I freaking loved the Stern Saga so hard but this series is officially moved to my favorite spot. Monique’s writing is only getting better with each book. Redemption was everything and a bag of chips! Teddy and Ashlyn are it! Just trust me! Grab this book. I guarantee you will love it. ~BREAKDOWN OF RATINGS~

Would I read more from this author? YES Would I recommend this book? YES
Redemption by Monique Orgeron is book One in the Youngblood Series. This is the story of Teddy and Ashlyn. This series is branching off the Stern Family Saga/Series. You won't have to have read the series to enjoy this book, but for us that read that Series and Loved it so, it was very nice to see the family. Teddy never got over his jealous and hurt feelings from his father's relationship with Catherine Stern. Teddy's father Theo was in Love with Catherine but she was taken, so he married Teddy's mother and had him. Catherine had children by her abusive husband. Theo took her children and some others under his wing that didn't have father's or whose father wasn't very good....like Catherine's. So this added to Teddy's bitterness and when he became an adult it ate away at him wanting him to seek to hurt them. Which put him on a road to destruction. But then Ashlyn came into his life after he was shot and they had a hate/hate relationship with the over dying desire for each other. Ashlyn started seeing him for who he truly was inside and not the bitter man whore that he gave the world especially when he was around her daughter. Their desire for each other turned into friendship that changed them both. I go through so many emotions when I read Ms. Orgeron's book...she brings out your feelings and makes them so raw. I always wonder how can you write a review for a book that you are so emotionally drawn too. It hard to make a review that's not a book or one with all your emotions. I am so glad I found this author with that first book I read ....I am now a life long fan!!
I was very engrossed in this story. The writing is great, the characters are not one dimensional and the plot is sustainable. Teddy is clearly the bad guy from the Stern family saga which I did not read but I was able to follow along and understand his "redemption" arc.
I did not see a cliffhanger coming so I was glad to have another book to give Teddy and Ashlyn even more time to make their relationship come together. I'm just glad I found this series after it was complete because waiting for the next book would have sucked.
I followed onto the next book immediately and stayed up much too late with it.
Another stern family drama but under a new label.. Youngblood’s. Which told me there’s going to be even more drama with the youngin’s. Now I was told that this book wasn’t as emotional as that last one. That was a LIE. The loops in this rollercoaster might not have been as big but there were multiple spots that made me cry. Not just cry some I was balling. And angry. Damn cliffy’s I need book two!
Phenomenal! Page turner! Emotional! These are just a few words the describe Redemption by Monique Orgeron.
We all know Teddy from the Stern Family Sagas and now we finally get to a look inside the man that was been trying to do everything in his power to hurt everyone that cared about him.
Teddy is a cocky asshole, who loves to sleep around and doesn’t have a care in the world. But all that started to change once he was given a letter that his mother wrote him. And when he meet the new family doctor Ashlyn and her daughter Brooke.
Ashlyn is taking over her father’s practice and also his role as the Stern Family Doctor. She’s trying to start over in life with her daughter after her marriage failed. Meeting Teddy was definitely not what she was looking for. Falling for him was not what she wanted.
Those two characters chemistry is off the charts. From the start of the book I was hooked. I was laughing at their banter (bunny slippers 😂). There were time I was in tears, specially when Brooke was involved in certain parts. I also loved seeing the Stern Family including. Loved how they got involved and tried to help.
In all Redemption was perfect. It shows you who Teddy really is and we definitely get to see a sweeter side of him.
If you want a great book with laughs, drama, emotions this is definitely for you just make sure you read the Stern Family Saga before hand do you don’t get lost on who’s who and what’s going on.
This is the first book in the spin off from the Stern series and it involves Teddy and Ashlyn. We meet them at the end of Art of Survival when Ashlyn saves Teedy's life. Fast forward to now. Teddy has hated the Stern boys his whole life thinking that his dad left him and his mom for them because they were included in everything they did. Come to find out everything is not as it seems. This is Teddy's journey of finding out that everything he thought was true is not and how to find acceptance and love when you think there is no coming back from the choices that you make. Ashlyn gives as good as she gets and she sees the good in Teddy if she can only get him to see it. The twist and turns had me wondering what was going to happen and just when I thought I had it figured out Marie threw something else in there. If you like the Stern series you will definately love this series. Marie I cant wait to see what is next if this is any indication it is going to be the must read series of 2019
Wow what a page turner that will have you feeling all your emotions throughout this book. You will be laughing and crying and loving the action throughout this book. What a read that will have your mind on over drive throughout this page turner book..
This is an exciting new series that i cant wait already to read more of. Teddy’s story is one of emotional turmoil, truths and becoming a better man. Teddy and love don’t go together that is until the woman who saved his life. I loved this story especially as you find out more about the rest of the family and what they have been up to. I couldn’t put this book down. A must read.
This was an amazing story that sucked me in right from the beginning and didn't let me go. I hated the ending and I CANNOT wait until book 2. This was a complex group of things happening all at once. The group of characters were perfectly written and the "good" girl I believe has a way more dark side than anyone else thinks.
I loved everything about this book. I was sucked in from the beginning the story completely consumed me.
Teddy is the kind of character I love he's arrogant, flawed, guarded, manipulative and comes across as extremely hostile. He automatically made me want to peel away his layers to see the Man underneath the facade.
Teddy has deep rooted anger towards his family it fills him with loathing and resentment he has issues that need to be resolved. My heart kinda hurt for him, I truly felt the pain he carried around. I think it confused him to feel something for the people he resented. Hate is easier than feeling and accepting Love.
I got glimpses that he could be redeemed and that was enough, he didn't disappoint. I bloody loved him.
What can I say about Ashlyn, she was a hoot a complete clumsy mess. I just adored her. I thought she was strong to leave her past and start over with her daughter who just melted my heart such a little cutie with no filter which was freaking hilarious.
The love hate relationship between Teddy and Ashlyn was both thrilling and infuriating but OMFG it was funny as hell, scorching hot and just a beautiful journey.
It was going to take a special kinda woman to crack Teddys armour. He didn't stand a chance against Ashlyn and her daughter, they saw him.
This was a fantastic story of Redemption, Love, Hate, family and loyalty. It was gripping with an edge of violence and danger. There are some fantastic characters, some utterly hilarious laugh your Ass off moments that balance the story out perfectly.
That ending was very intriguing I can't wait for Shanes book especially with that Title. I'm nervous but excited to see what happens next. I can't wait.
Teddy Teddy Teddy I honestly didn’t think that this series could get any better. But this book proves that it can get better. I loved this book it had EVERYTHING that you need in a book. Love, angst, drama, sass and a hell of an ending.
Redemption is a must read for anyone who enjoys laughing, crying and experiencing an against all odds love affair with chemistry that sizzles off the page. Teddy is the ultimate Tootsie pop. His yummy hard outside is good but with patience and time the soft chewy center is even better and worth the reward and time to get down to it. Ashlyn is a headstrong single mom, who doesn’t need a man, or so she thinks. I thoroughly enjoyed the push and pull between these two. The character development was believable and deep. Each chapter brought laughter and tear to my experience and ooh la la the heat was turned up. One of her best reads yet! Everyone needs a little redemption in their life!
After finishing Stern family series, I didn’t believe that Monique Orgeon can outdid herself, but buy how wrong was I.. Youngblood Series starts with the story of Teddy and Ashlyn, it is part (connected) to the Stern Family series, where Teddy was introduced several times, but this book can be read as a standalone. From the first page I was addicted to the book, not ashamed to admit that a was secretly reading it at work, because I simply couldn’t wait to know what happens.
It was amazing to read how Teddy overcomes his jealousy for Stern family, his dream for revenge and start to feel like a part of the family with the help of Ashlyn, who as well have monsters from the past. I can’t stress enough how much I loved this book, really looking forward for the next one. Monique, you did it again!
In November 2017, I was introduced to a new author who had just published. It was then that I read this author's first book Art of Seduction (A Stern Family Saga Book 1). I fell in love with Catherine Stern and her boys from that series! All 6 books in that series are now available to read and devour.
This Youngblood Series is a new spin off series from A Stern Family Saga series and there is no need to read those prior to diving into this series. Although....If you read them prior to this series, you will understand the family a lot better.
Teddy deserved his own book and this was quite the ride! Always feeling like an outsider to the Stern family growing up, now he is an adult and seeing things in a whole new perspective. Is it possible to take back all that he has already done and have a do over?
The thing about 'families' is that you dont get to leave and you dont get second chances.
Having her heart broken by her cheating husband, Doctor Ashlyn has moved back home and is following in her fathers footsteps of being a doctor. Times are tough and paying for the debt you've taken on to become a doctor is very overwhelming. Who ever pictures themselves moving back home with the parents?
The Stern family has their hands in everything in Louisiana. They are growing and very successful. With success in the 'family', there also comes the need to have a doctor on call 24/7. One who is trusted in the business. Who better to take over than the daughter of their current doctor.
While the push and pull between Teddy and Ashlyn are quite fascinating, it is also very sexy. Neither wanting to admit. Neither wanting to commit. Neither wanting a relationship.
Absolutely loved this book and am so happy to hear that the next book in this new series is Shane's story! Diving into that one now.
WOW. Redemption had it all the Youngblood series is not just a spinoff from the Stern's but a wonderful continuation. Teddy Trahan complexed, conflicted and confused which he hid well with being a difficult angry asshole. This book has it all humour, dark moments, violence, but as the title states it is also redemptive Teddy comes good in the end as his heart starts to let in the light he realises that he can love, be loved and is loved. Monique doesn't let her readers down, she introduces another strong independent intelligent woman. The children are not the overly cute kind but real little people who sprout words of wisdom and are strong little characters in their own rights. A glimpse of what they will become when adults. The wives are coming into their own the strength and solidarity just jumps off the page, I love that bond of sisterhood that they have formed and how they have each other's backs also how they have stepped into Catherine's shoes with their match making. The Stern brothers, may walk a fine line but when it comes to their families they are real men protective, respectful and hot as hell. I read Redemtion in one sitting it hooked me from the first page and I just couldn't stop until it ended on a cliff hanger that had me shout out. Younbloods one down two to go Shane and Gunner if Teddy's story is anything to go by with the clues dropped about them in this story this has me beyond curious to find out what their stories will be. 5 stars all the way. What a marvellous start to the New Year.
Redemption is the first book in the new Youngblood series, a spin off from the Stern saga. Still taking place in the mafia world, Teddy is eager to get back to business after being shot. Teddy is a very underhanded and manipulative man whose ultimate goal is to destroy the Stern family, which includes his half brother, Zander Stern. Dr. Ashlyn Martin, the doctor who saved Teddy, and her daughter move across the hall. The two have always gone out of their way to pull stunts on the other just to get under their skin. The more time he spends with Ashlyn, her daughter and the Sterns, the more Teddy begins to have conflicting feelings about plans he has set in motion. He has to decide whether he wants to continue down his current path or to sacrifice himself to save those he loves. This book seemed more lighthearted than previous ones I have read by Monique. It has action, humor, great sex, love etc. A touch of everything. And as usual, just when you think the book is going to go a certain way, it surprises you by going in a different direction. A great read as always.
I know this says it is the first of the series it is actually the seventh book. You have to read the Stern series by this author to understand anything about this book. You will be totally lost if you do not read the other books.
This was a great read and I had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen. I really like Teddy after you got to,see him through different eyes. He has so much pent up anger and jealousy and he learns how he must let it go to live his life. Ashlyn was kinda hard to like at first. The girls and guys described her as having a stick up her butt and she did. I know she had a bad marriage but she was so clueless about herself. Teddy got her going though. I didn’t give it 5 stars because the ending seemed to sum it all up but then left it at a cliffhanger. Poor Teddy seems to be in another mess.
Glad I found this author. Great read hits all the high points in a story: great plot, good characters, great sexy parts, action, and the bad boy redemption.
MY RATING: 5 Stars TITLE: Redemption AUTHOR: Monique Orgeron SERIES: Youngblood Series RELEASE DATE: 24 January 2019 CLIFFHANGER: Yes but for for book 2 story
You know that feeling when you pick up a book from an author that is new to you and you soon realise you’ve stumbled upon a goldmine? Yes people, I’m walking on cloud nine right now. I absolutely loved this book. I am slowly becoming very reluctant to read mafia romances now as I very rarely find something that blows my mind. I have to say, this is up there with some of the greats. Monique outdid herself with this unputadownable story about revenge, deceit and redemption. Delving deep in a complicated and rich character; a youngblood of the Stern Mafia family, hell bent on getting revenge and wealth by any means necessary.
When Teddy Trahan grows up a son to the Stern family’s underboss, he knows one day all this will be his. But he’s consumed with anger, hatred, and jealousy when his father assumes a father-figure role to the Stern brothers. Hell bent on taking his revenge, Teddy has had plans to bring down his enemies since he was a teenager. He’s manipulative, self-centred and selfish. Having never recovered from his mother’s death, Teddy is determined never to be emotionally attached to anyone. So his little black books keep him busy enough and his bed warm: until the one girl he can’t stand moves into the penthouse next door. Despite what he thinks of her, he can’t deny how his body responds to her. But he is a man of many sins, and he doesn’t deserve something so pure. So the warring of the heart and the mind begins. Can he really stay away from her or will he take the only chance he has for redemption?
Dr Ashlyn Martin is recently divorced and has a beautiful 6 year old daughter who’s the apple of her eye. In true daddy’s girl style, Ashlyn worships the ground her father walks on. All she’s ever wanted was to be a doctor like her father and to take over his practise when she finishes her residency. So imagine her surprise when she one day walks into his practise and finds a slew of men covered in blood; not just any men but the Stern mafia family. Okay listen. I’m all for daddy’s little girls who want to grow up and follow their father to the end of the world. But to want that so much that you become the mafia’s family doctor simply because your father is one?
Anyway, as part of her “welcome to the family” package, Ashlyn moves into nice penthouse all expenses paid with her daughter. Only to find out that she’s neighbours with the one man in the family she can’t stand; Teddy.
They say the line between love and hate is thin. Soon enough Teddy and Ashlyn can’t deny their attraction to one another. The story is written in first POV from both perspectives, so we get to see Teddy having to deal with the fact that now he has a reason to live and be a half decent human being. But with plans he’s had in motion for years well and truly under way, is it too late for him or can he salvage the clusterfuck that is his creation?
On the other hand, we see Ashlyn struggle with the demons she carries from her terrible marriage. She loves Teddy but she is determined that marriage is not for her. I loved seeing her overcoming this fear and moving on with her life.
Now as a side note, that the shit I don’t get. Ashlyn is adverse to marriage because she reckons if shit doesn’t work out they can just walk away without the drama of a divorce; but she’s willing to have Teddy’s children?
Once you have a child with someone you’re stuck with them for life. Unlike marriage you can walk away. Why would you want to have a child with someone you can’t trust they’re there for the long haul? When I break up with someone, that just what the fuck I do (yes I know it’s fictional). I break up with them where I have my phone switches itself off and the battery falls out when they call.
Redemption, book 1 of the Youngblood Series, is an offshoot of Orgeron's Stern Family Saga. The good news is that you don't have to read the original series to read Redemption, which I haven't. The bad news is that the Stern Family characters are in Redemption and so interesting that you will probably want to go back and read the original series.... which I'm going to. My poor TBR list is never going to end.
Teddy Trahan has finally recovered from his injuries (part of the story told in the Stern Family books) and is ready to get back to business and away from Dr. Ashlyn Martin. As part of the Stern "family organization" in New Orleans, Teddy has his territory to earn and his plans for leaving and destroying the Sterns to get on with. Ashlyn, divorced and starting over back in her hometown, sealed her fate by accepting the position as physician to the family and is installed in an apartment...directly across from her nemesis, Teddy.
Redemption is a combination of mafia machinations and romance. On the romance side, the push and pull between Teddy and Ashlyn is tense with a sultry build the more they interact. They circle each other with taunts and jabs even as the heat between them rises. On the mafia side, there is intrigue, secrets to be revealed, and torn loyalties . Both sides of this story are interwoven well, making for a nice paced read with the right touches of heat and action.
Both leads are truly likable. Ashlyn, struggling to come back into her own after her divorce, is vulnerable yet strong. A woman who has been badly burned by love so she focuses on her child and job but one who comes to find her balance. Teddy is a man in flux as his past and present clash and force him to look at what he believes versus what is the truth. His evolution from angry and living on old hurts to accepting and mature is well written.
A solid read with strong characters and a good plot line.
This book was FANFREAKINTASTIC!!!! I got to say that the authors writing just keeps getting better and better. You don't have to read the sterns to read this but I'd encourage you to do so. It is a fantastically brilliant series. Anyway onto Teddy and Ashlyn.. Teddy has been thru a lot. He's had his world rocked throughout this series. Found out he has a brother who he has yet to bond with. He has a lot of hatred for the Stern family. He thinks he knows what he's doing but in his defense, he hasn't a clue. He knows how to play the game and gets what he wants. He is thrown for a loop with Ashlyn and her daughter move in next door. He never wanted the marriage and family that the rest of the family has done. This is when the thrilling cat and mouse game starts. The tension between Ashlyn and him is just perfect. In true Stern fashion, there's meddling that happens. They see the connection that those two have and only want to help. Ashlyn has had her own issues. She has a waste of an ex husband, so that fuels her hatred towards marriage. Her mom is a rock star and I love that she has my name.. She knows what her daughter needs despite fighting her along the way. Her daughter is her whole world but now that she becomes the families doctor, things are changing. There are different rules now. Her and Teddy fight their attraction until it becomes to strong to deny. Jealously rears it ugly head in a big way. I gotta say I loved everything about this book and can't wait for more from this author!
I was sad when the amazingly brilliant Monique Orgeron finished the Stern Family Saga because I wasn't ready to say goodbye to them, but I should have know that she wasn't doing that to me, and the Youngblood Series may be a new series, but it's a spin off, YAY! And OMG, I'M ALREADY 100% IN LOVE! Finally, this is Teddy's story, and it was needed, because throughout the previous series, I went back & forth about how I felt about him, and now I know, and I have fallen in love with him now. However, it wasn't an easy journey, just like it wasn't easy for Ashlyn either, as he was horrible to her. If I think about it, Teddy is really a tortured soul, so he had all kinds of issues himself. Which means that this story had everything that makes it so good. There's the push & pull of Teddy & Ashlyn trying to pretend that they don't have chemistry in spades, yeah, it was so hot that sexy times lit things on fire. Next up, the entertaining interactions that had me rolling in laughter, like I mean, so many of them, my sides hurt now. Angst for days, as both of them have a past that has left scars of course, which they both have to face to move forward. Twists & turns around every corner that force out so many f-bombs it's not even funny, not to mention, I couldn't even attempt a guess how it would all pan out. Then, the cast of secondaries made up of the family that I love, and a new tiny human who almost stole the show. Finally, another big cliffy that has me dying inside needing to know the answer, so I'm so ready for more! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Oh how can I count the ways I loved this! I have been waiting for Teddy’s story, and as usual, its perfection. This author had me hooked on the Stern’s from the get go, this is the first book in the spin off series and it had everything I have come to expect from this author. Teddy was not a good man. Through the Sterns I had an intense dislike of him going in, he seemed weasel-ish to me. She just showed that people can grow. He did bad things in the past, things that made him a bad person even, but through recognition growth and love, not just from the heroine (though her love for him helped tremendously) but from the whole support group of family he saw the error in his ways and fixed his course. Ashlyn was great too! What a spitfire! I loved her acceptance and growth in her own right, becoming who she needed to be for her and her daughter. Plenty of mystery and intrigue as well, lots of things to keep you guessing and revelations and I’m so looking forward to Shane’s story!
Redemption is the first book in the Youngblood series, and it is ah-mazing!!
We first met Teddy in Monique's Stern Family Saga series, and, to be honest, he was a womanizing jerk. He had a huge chip on his shoulder, and he hated the Stern family something fierce. However, that all begins to change with a letter and a fiery doctor. I'm sure that you have all heard the old familiar saying "Opposites Attracts", but that couldn't be more wrong when it comes to Teddy and Ashlyn. If he is thunder, she is lightning, and, boy oh boy, when she strikes, Teddy will never be the same.
I fell in love with the Stern family and friends from the start, so I was super excited to learn that Monique was writing a spin off series, and she couldn't have picked a better guy to start off the new series. As always with this amazingly talented author, the story line was gripping and the characters are simply awesome! If you haven't yet discovered this author and her writing, I am seriously jealous because you are about to embark on one heck of a reading journey!
What can I say that I haven’t said before, seriously this book is freaking EPIC!!
The best decision Monique did was create the young blood spin-off series!!!
I love every aspect, every turn this book took.
As you start to read the first chapter in the book, you begin to forget that the world 🌎 that surrounds you completely doesn’t exist.
My total focus was to continue to read until I find out what happens next and OMFG!!! What a cliffhanger!!!!
I seriously can’t wait to read the next coming book, I will definitely be the first to order this series in paperback version because I just need this baby in hand!!
So yes!!!! Download this book and get lost in the most fantastic, phenomenal, extraordinary Mafia Romance series in 2019!!!
First off I didn't read the prior series this was a spin off from and while I wish I had you get filled in enough that you don't miss it even if you really want to go back and get the dirt first hand. What starts off as two people uninterested in more than verbal sparring tuns into a struggle to stay away. The action doesn't stop with just the sparks between these two. Each of them have their own set of woes. Him trying to piece his memories together with reality, her dealing with lies of omission and finding her place in this world. It's a great book you wont want to put down and has some series passion between them. Tons of laughs from these sisters and bursting ovaries over him and the "kid", Brooke. Watching him open himself up? Priceless. Excellent read and yes it does end with a cliff hanger.
This is the first book in a spin off series from this talented author, and what a phenomenal introduction this is. This author has the unique ability in just getting better and better, which I would not have thought was possible! We were introduced to Teddy in previous stories, but there is more to this renowned playboy that what he portrays. Bring into the mix Ashlyn, and Teddy has finally met his match. The chemistry between these two is intense and explosive. This is a well written flawless story, which is filled with suspense, danger, twists, and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read the next novel in this series. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy for an honest review.
Monique has done it again!!!! Redemption is a spin off series from the Stern Family Saga (a must read series!). Redemption is book 1 in the series and it is Teddy's story. Teddy always intrigued me with his love/hate relationship for Catherine and her boys. Even knowing that one of her boys is his brother, he still kept his distance and did his own thing. This story picks up where the last Stern book left off. Teddy is healing from being shot and is on a path of destruction that he wouldn't be able to come back from. Or is he? Teddy has met his match with the doctor that saved him and moved in next door. Their interactions with each other will have you laughing out load, ovary bursting at his interaction with her daughter, and urging him towards a path of redemption and a chance at love and happiness. Watch out for that ending though! Monique owes another book, pronto! And I cannot wait for Shane's story, as he belongs to me.
Love this authors work and loved the Sterns. Now we have a spin off series; first up is Teddy Trahan and I've been waiting to hear his tale for a while. Teddy was always going to be a hard one to nail down. The confirmed bachelor and notorious womaniser. It's always great to watch those types fall when they meet their match and my heart just swooned for this one as his character does a complete 180. Ashlyn's character was great at keeping Teddy on his toes! Brooke was just the cutest.
As always the author keeps us guessing as to how the story is going to play out with plenty of twists and revelations along the way just to keep us hooked. My only criticism is the writing didn't come across as edgey and raw as it did in the earlier parts of the Stern Family Saga's. It seemed more low key and gentle. I love the darkness and the mafia feel in the writing; given that the story is set within organised crime, I felt Teddy should have had more of a rough, dominant edge when talking about himself. The dialect was spot on and the darkness is written without being too graphic.
Loved the story but I'm reserving a place in my heart for Shane... There's a definite untold story lurking there and with this author's penchant for surprises I know I will be sucker punched once more!
