Dawson Brothers #6

Walk the Line

Rate this book
A beautiful woman makes everything better. Including me. Living on a big ranch with a large family means working during the day and taking on side projects on the weekend. And it’s my turn to help with the latest one. The house needs updating, and my sister wants an interior designer to help out. I begrudgingly agree to help until the woman shows up. Crazily enough, it’s the pretty girl I kissed on the dance floor a few nights before. The one that slapped me in the face and walked off. I’ve always loved a good challenge. Everything about her turns me on. But she’s not interested in bad cowboy types. And my brothers and I are just that. At least, they are. A nasty situation turns the pretty girl against me, and there isn’t much I wouldn’t do to get her back. Time to dust off these boots and walk this line. This woman is well worth the effort.

This is a stand-alone, full-sized novel in the Dawson Brothers’ series (8 books total). Each book focuses on a different brother/cousin. HEA is guaranteed, no cheating or violence.

Whitney who grew up in Safety, Texas and her best friend Lydia where back in Safety at the dance hall to have fun and dance. Connor and his brothers came into town from their ranch to blow off some steam for the night of drinking and dancing. From across the room Lydia and Connor both met each other eyes and chemistry stirred in their blood at the site of each other. Connor asked Lydia to dance and he could not just hold her - he needed to kiss her. She slapped his face and left the dance floor. She could still feel his lips gently touch her lips as she dragged her finger tips over her lips. Each one never expected to met up again but stranger things have happened. Connor's sister Abi wanted to renovate their ranch kitchen and living room to give it an updated feel. Naturally, the interior designer in the city that was chosen was Lydia. This brought back together Connor and Lydia from that fateful night of dancing and slapping situation. Chemistry between Lydia and Connor was evident but not to Abi who was thrilled with what Lydia had in store for the renovation. Ali Parker can write the hottest love scenes between these two and they heat up the sheets but can these two walk the line and create a HEA.

Connor Dawson is all about family, and he is charged with helping his sister with a budget to update the interior of their family home. Connor is surprised when the interior designer his sister hired is the same woman who slapped his face when he tried to steal a kiss while dancing with her a few nights earlier. Lydia Myers is an interior designer at Patton Designs with her best friend, but she wants to start up her own interior design company. When Lydia sees Connor again, she plans to pass on designing the Dawson house, but she can't stop thinking about Connor. Connor and Lydia are attracted to each other, and their chemistry is scorching hot. Can Connor prove to Lydia that he isn't the man his reputation says he is? Can Lydia overcome past hurts and see Connor for the man he is? Will Conner's younger brother's arrest come between Connor and Lydia? Can Lydia and Conner find their happily ever after? I really liked Walk the Line by Ali Parker. Walk the Line is a great story with lots of chemistry, family drama, and love. Love the Dawson family. I would definitely recommend Walk the Line by Ali Parker. I received an ARC of this story, and I am leaving my honest review.

I just love these books... the Dawson brothers (and sister) are so cute! I loved the original brothers books and with the new Dawson’s (cousins of the original brothers) I am still in love with them all. They are rough and ready, not perfect and sometimes quite naughty Cowboys with an outstanding work ethic, family value system and immense amounts of pride and loyalty. Connor and Lydia meet briefly on a night out, he’s drawn to her immediately but takes things a step too far a little too quickly and boy does he pay for that! They then meet again totally unexpected by both and are forced to work together. While Lydia is doing everything she can to keep Connor at arms length he is doing everything he can to reel her in. I received an arc of this book and my review is honest and voluntary. I cannot recommend these books enough. You don’t really have to start at the beginning but I would recommend you do (because they are lots of fun, plus you get to know the characters and there families much more starting at the beginning) well worth the read.

I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.

I enjoyed the series of Dawson Brothers books so was excited to finally read Connor’s story. A bad boy turned good, he’s running the family ranch and helping his family. Connor and Lydia first meet at a bar where Connor is instantly smitten, though a slap across the cheek cooled his jets. Fate however had other plans as the company Lydia works for is hired to redesign Connor’s family home.

He’s such a fantastic character I almost hate Lydia for taking him from me!! She has past history and is afraid of the player reputation of Connor and his cousins. Connor wants something real with Lydia and has to work hard to win her over. It seems like his many family obligations take over his life, which causes conflict and Connor just can’t get the balance right between work and life.

This book is well written and I loved seeing the return of characters from the previous books. Connor and Lydia are great together and was so pleased they navigated the mine field to their HAE.

Sexy cowboy😍

The Dawson brothers have a reputation for being bad boys and always getting into fights and trouble. Connor is a little older now but he has grown wiser and doesn’t go looking for any trouble. One night after a long day working the ranch, the brothers decide to go to the dance hall, where Connor spots the most beautiful woman he’s ever laid eyes on. His brothers all hedge bets against him and he decides to prove them wrong. However, when he gets her to dance with him she does, but he goes a step further and kisses her....which ends with a slap....a well deserved slap.

Lydia can’t believe the nerve of the cowboy kissing her, but she can’t get him out of her mind either. When they meet again, they are both a bundle of nerves and chemistry. She’s not sure how she will be professional and redecorate their farm house and stay away from the sexy cowboy 🤠

A great story and I hope Wyatt or Abi’s story is next❣️

A fantastic, heartwarming story about the importance of family and love. The Dawson family is bank in this new novel from Ali Parker. Connor Dawson is tired of meaningless hookups and wants something more but is unsure of what until he meets Lydia Meyers. Lydia is an interior designer who dreams of opening her own business and redesigning more than just office spaces. She wants to settle down but thinks he can only achieve that with an older man until Connor Dawson invades her every thought after one unexpected, stolen kiss. Follow these two as they try to figure out what they want out of life together. Walk The Line was filled with doubts, heartache, family, flirtatious banter, wit, laughter, and love. Readers will fall in love with the Dawson clan all over again in this new novel. A captivating must read, readers will fall in love with and won't want to put down.

The Dawson Brothers are slowly changing their rowdy reputation in their home town of Safety, Texas- usually with the help of some firm female persuasion and their father's dower expressions...
Connor is next to get hit by the female persuasion- both literally and figuratively- when he meets Lydia Myers, who gives as good as she gets and lets him know he's not going to woo her with Dawson charms and fast moves! Smacking him right back into reality should have sent him running, but it seems fate has something in store for them both... If they can survive it as well as the rest of the Dawson family!
Another heartwarming, tension building heat wave of humor, Cowboys, bar brawls, and twists testing one families strengths while creating new bonds! I thoroughly enjoyed Connor and Lydia's story and look forward to what's next in the Dawson Series!

What woman can resist a bad boy that grows up to be a good man? Connor Dawson has sown his fair share of wild oats in his youth, but he doesn’t want to be remembered as that reckless hot-headed kid anymore. A dance, a kiss, and a slap across the face suggest that maybe he hasn’t grown up as much as he thought. I loved that we got to see a softer side of the Dawson family in this book. Especially that we got the chance to know Abi a little bit better too. Lydia has so many hidden depths and she keeps Connor on his toes. I wasn’t a fan of how she holds the family’s reputation against him, but I get that small towns have long memories and can cherish grudges like gold. I can’t wait to see the rest of this family find their happy ever afters.

This book is about Connor Dawson. Now that he's older, is he ready to settle down and find a good woman?? When him and his brother/cousin go out to a dance hall he sees Lydia across the room. When their eyes meet, you can just feel the chemistry. When she lets him take her on the dance floor, what will happen when he kisses her? Yes, she slaps him and walks away. But, she cannot get him out of her mind and he cannot either. Will they both find their happily ever after?? Will another Dawson man find the woman who was made for him?? You'll have to read the book to find out what happens.. Enjoy.

It started with a stolen kiss

I am a huge fan of Ali Parker’s and the Dawson Brothers series is one of the reasons why. With each brother we get a better understanding of how close this family is. Connor may have been a bad boy but he’s growing up and when he meets Lydia and steals a kiss during a dance he knows immediately she’s different just as she knows he is. Coincidence brings them together but neither can deny their attraction to the other. When things get tough their relationship is put to the test but like all the Dawson’s, Connor won’t give up easily. I look forward to the rest of the Dawson clans stories. Connor is looking for more than a casual relationship some of his brothers are now settled & happy.
Lydia’s past boyfriend was aggressive so she’s reluctant to date again.
When they meet at a dance things don’t go as he planned. Their paths are destined to cross again when his sister Abi hires her for the family’s home renovations.
I felt it was drawn out & a little repetitive in places, still a nice book but longer than necessary.

A funny, engaging book to read!!

The Dawson Brothers series is filled with brotherly love and will give you some laughs! The love that hits Connor and Lydia was no exception - their story was interesting and kept me engaged! I always enjoy a story that has a strong family element and this one has that in spades! Also, who doesn't love a true cowboy?! I am not giving this 5 stars because I like a little more suspense and twists to my stories. This, to me, is a GREAT easy read! Although I received this as an ARC, all opinions are my own.

This is book six in The Dawson Brothers series and was well written. Connor Dawson has a lot of responsibility on the family ranch. He agrees to go out to the local dance hall with his brothers and sister. Lydia Myers works at Patton Designs an interior design company. She goes to the small town of Safety, TX with her best friend. Connor and Lydia meet at the dance hall but something happens. Wonderful characters and it was great getting another glimpse into the Dawson family. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Romantic and All Dawson...Yummy! Connor Dawson wasn't prepared for one Lydia Myers but when she slapped him at the Dance Hall for stealing a kiss - well she was all he could think about. Lydia was appalled at the Cowboy who kissed her but he kept invading her thoughts and what a surprise that he and his sister Abi should up at the design firm she worked for needing an interior designer.
Can Connor work out his families baggage and Lydia work out hers to make this work?
A definite Page Turner.

On a bet Connor makes his way over to a woman for a dance but is caught off guard by an old flame. When he finally makes it over to Lydia, she brushes him off, talk about ways to meet women! But Connor doesn't give up and Lydia does have a thing for the cowboy. Will this turn into the romance of a lifetime for the two? This is a story that grabs you and draws you in as you read on about Connor and Lydia's path to happily ever after. I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Connor spots her across the bar and asks her to dance.. one dance, one kiss, one slap and Lydia is the woman of his dreams.. Lydia can't get the sexy cowboy out of her head but how dare he kiss her without even knowing her name.

The last thing Connor wants to do is help his sister redecorate the ranch. When he walks into the design studio and sees Lydia he is all in. Lydia is smitten and gives Connor a chance but when things from her past start to scare her will she walk away?

These books keep getting better and better. Connor is the one in this book and he finds that love will make him happy and finally feel what his cousins feel. He is this sweet cowboy who falls for the designer Lydia. They have a few rough patches but in the end it all works out.  I can't wait until the rest get a story. This series is so good and it's a must read. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy.

Walk the Line. This book continues the series of the Dawson brothers. Connor spots a woman he can't get out of his mind. They see each other again when she comes to the house to do a interior design project. They hit it off great, but his brother Dylan almost destroy their relationship because of his hot head. The book is a great romance read! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

I really enjoy Ali Parkers Books and this one is definately another favorite. This is number 6 in the Dawson Brothers Series, you can read them as stand alone because Ali does explain really well who all the characters are in each book. However, if you read them in sequence you get to follow along on their journey and grow up with them. This book starts out with Abi wanting to remodel the farmhouse and the story goes from there. Fun to read.

I have enjoyed the bad boy ways of each of the Dawson Brothers . I love the Dawson family they are good people.
Connor and Lydia's story was full of laughs , heartbreaks and a whole lot of drama .I just wasn't to sure that I liked them as a couple , maybe it's because of how long it took them to be together .

Its hard to find a book by Ali Parker that is not an enjoyable read. Connor meets Lydia when he and his siblings go out dancing 💃. Then he finds out she is the interior designer who will be working with him and his sister to update the family home. Very entertaining characters and the story line flowed together nicely.

I ended up quitting this book. I really wanted to enjoy it because I’ve liked others from this Author and the storyline was cute and sexy at times.

I just couldn’t stand the repeating of the same sentence over & over. The repeating of a Situation from one page and then the same a few pages over. To me that is very annoying and the editing should have caught that

Connor and Lydia's story is ver well written. I love the Dawson boys, and Connor is no exception. She is a designer stuck in a rut, and he is a bad boy rancher who wants more in life. The sparks quickly start flying. I just couldn't put this book down.

What...

What a wonderful addition to this series! A lot of interaction between the Dawson siblings, especially Connor, Dylan, and Abi! Good story with a "bit" of family drama, some laughter, tears, and good old romance!
