Nicolette Andrews is a born and raised San Diegan with a passion for fantasy, especially if it has a romance and some mystery and intrigue mixed it doesn't go amiss either. Apart from writing, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, preferably somewhere outside enjoying the San Diego sunshine.
Johai , a prince is plagued with nightmares until he starts working with healer within the palace. He finds a book which appears to have various portions and even black magic which draws him to read it. The healer warns him that he is not ready to learn any magic. Will he listen or not is the question. A light read .
This book is a prequel to the Diviner's Prophecy. If you read "prophecy" first like I did, you'll find that it's ending chapters will make way more sense as Sorcerer lays the groundwork for the character's actions and motivations.
I was really glad that there was a Novella about the life of Johai before The Diviner's Trilogy. This one continues after the events of Duchess Johai is older I think he's sixteen and carries the shame blame of his father's betrayal against the Kingdom of Keisan. Although his allowed to live in court he's still treaded as a outsider especially by his nephew Prince Adair. Later he discovers that he has a talent for healing or a Magiker and decides to learn under the local Magiker but then he discovers a book of dark magic which tempt him and he thinks it will be a solution to his problems but sets a old evil free which will cost his life. I really like the book but it just was to short for me I wanted more of my favorite character Johai😃 but I really enjoyed it.
