This was a collections I read in sections. This is a small exposure to a large number of European philosophers in the 19th and 20th Centuries. Phenomenologists, Marxists, Structuralists and Deconstructionists are all a part of this massive volume. For me the introductions to each philosopher was often more helpful than the selection from each author, since philosophers can often be difficult to read and it takes some time to begin to develop a familiarity with the language and thought of a writer. There are a few of the authors in this work that I would be interested in exploring more deeply.
