Acesta este Max. A trecut de mult ora la care trebuia sa doarma. Este foarte obosit. Inainte sa mearga la culcare, Max vrea neaparat sa-i spuna Lunii "Noapte buna"... Dar unde este Luna?

I would just like to preface this by saying that I have a Max, so this was an especially enjoyable book for our family!
Max at Night is a very cute bedtime story about a kitten named Max who is desperate to say goodnight to the moon. It is simple and sweet and long enough to engage a child before bed, but not too long that the parents reading it will get frustrated (I know those books well!).
The illustrations are simple and the colors are vibrant. I think there is something to be said about a minimal pictures is a book, especially before bedtime. It's not overstimulating and the children are able to focus on listening to the story instead of looking at all the pictures.
We will definitely be incorporating this into our bedtime routine!
A great bedtime story. Recreates the wonderfully minimalistic, colorful, impressionistic illustrations of Max the Brave with a little bit more of a subdued palette for night-time appropriateness. I like the forward and backward sequence of events which allows for engagement on repeated reads ("Where does Max go next?) and promotes read-a-long from kids because of its repetitive nature. And the built-in predictability acts as a signal that the story is almost over and lights out is on the way. It's got some cute kid-humor, too. :)
This big eyed cutie is on a mission before bed—he wants to say goodnight to the moon. Max has already said his good nights to everyone and everything else, but he can’t find the moon. Maybe if he climbs higher or looks harder or yells louder. Higher and higher we go with Max as he climbs over obstacles in his way. Can Max find the moon? Will the moon hear him?
Colorful backgrounds make Max pop off the page with cuteness and determination. The pages and colors are clear, simple, and eye-catching. Add the easy to read, hold your attention words and actions and you’ve got yourself a perfect bedtime tale.
Recommended.
p.s. I first met Max back in Max the Brave. Another cute read!
Max is just a sweet, little cat who wants to say good night to Moon before going to sleep. But Moon is nowhere to be seen. Max goes outside, climbs trees, buildings, and more. He asks the night, the hill and the rooftops where Moon is. Finally the wind blows the clouds away, and the night turns bright and beautiful with a big, wonderful moon. And Max is so sleepy...
This story is really cute, and Max is an adorable character. The slow pace, and the repetitiveness of the text makes it an ideal bedtime story. The illustrations are simple, but lovely, colorful enough without being bright, as I think a bedtime story needs to be.
Although the book is recommended for kids 3 years old and up, I would say younger readers will enjoy it too. My 19 months old son loved it.
I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I am so happy that Max is back in another book! I really liked his first book Max the Brave, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on Max at Night to see what this cute little cat is up to!
In this installment our little black cat is tired, but before he can go to bed he needs to say goodnight. However, before he can go to bed, he needs to say good night. So he starts saying good night to everything - a box, a fish, etc...but when he gets the moon he can't find it! Poor Max, he can't go to bed until he tells the moon good night, so he goes off in search for it.
Like the previous book, the artwork in this book is simple. Most pages consist of one bright and mostly solid color with simple art work to depict whatever it is Max is doing in the story at the time. Yet, despite its simplicity, it works. And Max is just too cute!
The story line is okay. It isn't spectacular. However, it is still a great bedtime read. We go through the getting ready for bed motions with Max and the story is, over all, a calm one. So it is a good one to help littles settle down to sleep.
I look forward to many more of Max's adventures. He is a cute cat and easy to love! Definitely a staple character for my house!

Through short, simple sentences and minimal yet eye-catching illustrations, Ed Vere's Max at Night is a fantastic bedtime story! It's sweet and charming and an absolute delight that I know I'll be sharing with my nieces! Even better: there's another Max book! Max the Brave came out last year and is about Max wanting to be a brave kitten who chases mice...only he doesn't know what a mouse looks like! TOO CUTE!

RATING: 4 STARS 2016; Sourcebooks Jabberwocky/Sourcebooks (Review Not on Blog)
Max is tired and it is his bedtime. He has had his milk, brushed his teeth and said goodnight to everyone but the moon. He cannot see moon and is unable to sleep until he find the moon. This story is a modern version of Goodnight moon and just as adorable. I recommend this book to any parent who read bedtime stories.
I bet children everywhere are loving this one before bedtime! Max has done everything he’s supposed to do before bedtime and now he just needs to say goodnight to everyone. But where is Moon? So simple, but so effective.

I received a copy of Max at Night from the publisher, Sourcebooks, in exchange for an honest review. I’m so thankful they sent me this because my daughter and I will enjoy this story for years to come!
This book follows Max, a little kitten, as he is ready to go to bed, but he can’t find the moon to say goodnight. He goes on an adventure trying to get as high as he can to find the moon to say goodnight. Then he follows his steps back home to bed.
This sweet book is a wonderful bedtime book for toddlers and preschoolers. There aren’t that many words on the page and the length is perfect to help get a child ready for bed but not too long that they get bored. The illustrations are large and simple with a subdued color palette which keeps it from being too stimulating before bed. The repetition is perfect for preschoolers…you can ask the child what does Max have to do next to get back home?
My daughter and I really enjoyed this story and we are so thankful to Sourcebooks for providing us a copy.

My son is the easiest kid to get into bed, I think it’s because we started him on a routine when he was nearing his first birthday. We brush our teeth, put on our night clothes, and read a book. He gets so excited that he doesn’t even realize most kids dislike going to bed. Now, He doesn’t like hearing the same book very often. If I repeat a book in the same month he will voice his opinions on the subject ‘I’ve heard this one, can we read another?’ or ‘Why this one again?’. What can I say? I have a picky eater that’s a picky reader too.
When we were sent childrens books for review, I assumed I would get to read them every once in a while. Turns out, maybe we weren’t picking the right stories before. I’ve read him Max at Night multiple times this month. Loki loves cats and something about Max had really caught his attention. So much so, that he has asked for this book by name, and we even found another Max book at the library to read. As a mom, I think this story is adorable and it really settles Loki down before we say our final ‘good nights’ of the evening. It’s the perfect length for a before bed story. I’m glad it’s in our collection and I’m planning on adding the rest of Ed Vere’s books for his book advent calendar.

Hello, friends! Our book today is Max At Night by Ed Vere, a positively adorable bedtime tale about a sweet little kitten named Max who wants to say goodnight to his friend, the moon.
Second in the Max series by Vere, the story begins with Max getting ready for bed: drinking his milk, brushing his teeth, washing behind his ears. He says goodnight to his fish and his cardboard box, but when he wants to say goodnight to the moon, it’s nowhere to be found! So Max goes out in search of the moon, wandering through the quiet, sleepy night. Will Max find the moon in time for bed?
We loved Max The Brave, the first book in Vere’s series, and this one is even better. Max’s childlike innocence and wonder is as endearing as can be, and the story evokes the dreamy magic of bedtime in a way that is soothingly serene. The darling art is simple and lovable, and supports the text perfectly. The length is great, JJ adored it, and this would be a perfect bedtime story for any little dreamer. Baby Bookworm approved!
Sweet Max, an adorable little kitten, is almost ready to shut his eyes and curl up for a wonderful night's sleep. It's way past his bedtime and he's very sleepy. He does his nightly rituals... laps up his milk, brushes his teeth, even cleans behind his ears (boy this kitty means business), and to finish off he just has to say goodnight to all the things he loves. He says adieu to his fish, his box, his spider, and then looks up to say goodnight to the moon. But wait! Where is the moon? It is nowhere to be found so he goes outside to try to locate it.
Is it hiding? Can Max discover where it's gone? The little guy goes on a find-the-moonwalk wanting so badly to say goodnight to his celestial friend. Will it be mission accomplished for Max?
The illustrations are vibrant and uncluttered signifying to the reader just how tiny Max is and how big his world is in comparison. The colour palette is perfect for a bedtime read. I am sure your little one will thoroughly enjoy this heartwarming tale of a tiny kitty and his relentless determination to say nite nite to his friend, the Moon.
'Max at Night' by Ed Vere is the second book starring the brave, black kitten. While I liked the first book a bit more, this one is charming and stars a plucky hero.
Max is very sleepy. He goes through his going to bed routine by brushing his teeth and sayiing good night to everything around him. There is one problem: when he says good night to the moon, it is nowhere to be seen. In spite of how tired he is, Max goes on a quest to find the moon. Can he stay awake long enough to find the moon?
It's a lovely going to bed book. Max is adorable. I think there was a bit more story in the first book, 'Max the Brave' but this is still a winner. The illustrations are fun, and Max is pretty cute. Perfect for the toddlers in your life.
I received a review copy of this ebook from Sourcebooks Jabberwocky and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.
Max at night is a simple yet fun book to follow as Max, the cat prepares to go to sleep but wants to say goodnight to the moon. This entrails Max to go on a mini adventure to find the moon to say goodnight to it. The pictures are great and easy to follow and show the unique and simple art of the cats adventure. Once Max finds the moon he says goodnight to it and the moon actually responds and says that he can hear him from anywhere and the cat heads home.
This book was very easy to follow and I really enjoyed the simplicity of the art. The story to me, was fun and kept me wanting to see the next page. I also thought that giving the moon a dialogue piece was interesting as it gives life to it. Overall I enjoyed the story but thought the art was what made this book so much better.
A cute, quick, bedtime story for kids in the spirit of "Goodnight Moon."
I enjoyed the minimalist, alternately warm and cool hued pictures.
The author deftly uses many synonyms, making this perfect for the "read aloud" or 1000 books before kindergarten challenges to increase word knowledge in young children.
I'm a little confused at the author's choice to anthropomorphize some nonsentient objects and not others--but kids probably won't give this a second thought :-) For me, it meant the story seemed to switch tracks near the end.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a free digital copy for my review.
The next book is one that whose main character is already near and dear to my heart, Max the black cat. Max is the cutest cat ever and his adventures are so adorable children can’t help but love him. In this book Max is a very sleepy cat that has done all his nighttime rituals but cannot find the moon to say goodnight. The story goes on to explain the reason why and help Max understand. This is yet another great example of storytelling for children and the illustrations, once again, make the story come to vivid life for the little ones. I adore Max and can’t wait to read more of his stories! Ed Verde’s illustrations are wonderful and you can’t help but fall in love with little Max.
I am such a huge fan of this story! What a great way to cap off this page! Bedtime stories are the very best, and this one will be read over and over again.
Max is done being brave, and now it’s time to sleep—all he has to do is say good night. But something’s wrong! When Max goes to say good night to the moon, it’s nowhere to be found. Unable to sleep without finishing his nighttime ritual, Max embarks on a journey to find the moon and wish it a good night.
With the same lovable character and bright, graphic illustrations as the New York Times bestseller, Max the Brave, Max at Night is sure to delight young readers and adults alike.
A simple book about a cat going to bed, saying good night toe all objects around him, and then noticing the moon is missing. Simple cute pictures. My boys found this story relaxing, which is a good bedtime story. The only problem was, had some difficulty reading the text, due to the dark colours used on some pages.
A lovely story to read with children when you have a spare moment.
It is about a cat who cannot sleep so goes on an adventure to find the moon, in order to find peace and be able to sleep. This concept makes it a great read for children because they will most likely be able to relate to the difficulty of having to go to sleep but not being sleepy.
The minimalist illustrations add to the charm of the book, making it one to reach for when you want to spend some spare time reading to children. The simple sentences also make it a great choice because it means younger children can understand the narrative and relate the text to the images.
Such a cute, funny book! This is bedtime story where Max sets on a journey to find the moon and say goodnight. I read the ebook but now I want to purchase the print copy to give to my grandkids.
This was fun and very cute! The illustrations are engaging and great usage of color. Max is a cute cat and Baby very much could relate to staying up too late at night! Would def check out other Max books.
We’ve always seemed to have a wonderfully obsessive fascination with the moon. My mother loves telling stories about my young years and my quest to find the moon anytime it was dark outside. Bug seems to have inherited this trait from me. Anytime we venture outside at night, a frantic search for the moon ensues. If by chance it’s visible during the day, the endless questions and skyward gazes of awe are par for the course. Bug’s not alone though. The moon seems to provide endless enchantment for young ones. The ever peaceful, glowing companion to the stars that sometimes favors us with a surprise daytime visit is a object of beauty, wonder, and awe. Ed Vere seems to tap into that perfectly with one of our favorite cats, Max.
Max is normally quite energetic. So while I wouldn’t even think of reading Max the Brave as a bedtime story, Max at Night has become a beloved bedtime favorite. We follow Max as he gets ready for bed and bids his companions a good night. It’s only when Max’s friend, Moon, is gone that we slightly stray from the calm cadence that the story has already fallen into. Vere continues a soothingly repetitive line of questioning as Max works his way through his friends and the town, looking for moon. Each response he receives has a lulling quality to it. The night is dark and quiet, the dog is sleeping, the rooftops are silent. Each step that takes us closer to moon also helps us drift that closer to sleep. It’s all startled as Max loses his temper calls for Moon. However, in an almost maternal way Moon responds, accompanies Max home, and almost seems to tuck him in. If we read this at night Bug is almost assuredly near sleep by the time we finish.
Vere sticks with his normal full colored page illustrations but has obviously chosen with great care the color scheme that he uses. The colors are perfect for a bedtime story a bit darker but still rich. Max, as always, is so easy to pick out with his big round eyes, that so seem to mirror Bug’s as he searches for the moon. By far the best page is when Max finds Moon (which takes up a full page). The glowing aura that seems to emanate from it is breathtaking and eerily reminiscent of the real moon on a clear night. The stars, depicted through paint spray are artistic enough for me to enjoy and prettily add an extra bit of depth to each page.
Bug loves Max, who has become a staple in our home. It’s easy to understand why. Max is curious, adventurous, spunky, and gets as tired as Bug does after long adventures. And on moonlit nights when the moon is hiding behind a building or a cloud, I hear my own little Max calling: “Moon, where are you?”
Story Tips: - Use a soft, rhythmic voice while reading this one at night. Even when Max loses his temper you can use a subdued voice and still maintain an expressive reading. - You and your little one can help blow the clouds away before turning the page to reveal Moon.
