Entertaining mystery listening 🎶🔰

Forty will written Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson stories by Craig Stephen Copland. Each story is different with interesting well developed characters lots of action and misdirection leading to each conclusion. I listened 🎶 to these individually. As a Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson fan I would highly recommend this series and author to fans of Sherlock Holmes and readers of mystery novels 👍🔰. 2023 😀👒☺👑

Huge collection of stories
I love mystery stories, and I've always loved Sherlock Holmes. When I learned of this collection of new Sherlock Holmes stories I jumped at the opportunity.

This a collection of forty novellas. I binge read the entire collection, but you can read them in smaller increments. Each novella is a self-contained story and complete unto itself.

One of the things that is a little disconcerting is that the time frame of the stories jumps around a little, from the late 1880s to the early 1900s, and they are not sequential. The time of each is well established in the text, but I'm not sure why the author chose to do it that way. It does not detract from the quality of each of the stories, which as stated previously are self-contained.

Craig Stephen Copland has purposely woven elements of the Holmes original Conan Doyle stories into the plotlines of his work. He knows the body of Conan Doyle's work well, and it shows. Copland is also a master at dialog, and he was able to place the reader right in the middle of the conversations. Well done.

Something else that I breezed past without distraction is pretty sloppy editing. There's quite a lot of obviously wrong words and some garbled sentences, as if the author started with one thought, changed tact to go another direction, and didn't completely correct the sentence.

I still give the collection Five Stars. I'm glad I read the stories, and I'll look for more by Mr. Copland. Well done.

There are so many different stories, tales that involve other famous folks and many twists and turns and some are really great. It's hard to rate or review a book that has so many good stories in it. I like the fact that so many of the tales involve someone famous or almost famous and also that the take on Homes' character is a lot more modern- he is aware of women's rights, the race problem and treats many folks the same way rich/famous or just street people. I liked so many of the stories as because of the variety it's hard to pick a favorite,- but I really liked Glorious Yacht, Adventure of the Missing Better Half and Mystery of 222b Baker street( I may have the street # wrng).

Enjoyed reading this collection of 36 stories created to honor the Canon and reimagine new cases for Sherlock Holmes. I liked how other literary characters and actual people of the same era as Holmes are interwoven into the stories such as Anne of Green Gables when Holmes has to go to Canada for a case.

Very entertaining!

A wonderfully large collection of stories. The plots and characters are well developed. I enjoyed reading all of the many stories. I am a fast reader, and it was great to have all these stories in one Kindle Unlimited collection.

Author,s prejudice ruined many of the stories

While many of the stories are very good, the authors anti-Semitism and anti Americanism ruined things for me! Also the high degree of violence was too much for me in many of the stories

My Absolute Favorite

Mr. Copland is my favorite pastiche writer of Sherlock Holmes stories.
Reading all of these tales is absolute gluttony in the figurative sense, of course. Enjoy and gorge yourself until you dose off with a smile on your face.

Holly good!

Long but thoroughly entertaining. Not exactly Holmes and Watson as I recall them, but pretty darned close and filled with cringe-worthy puns.

Very good stories

My only complaint is that you need a better proofreader. Site/sight is a reoccurring example. Loved the stories, excellent job recreating Sherlock Holmes.

I enjoyed this book thoroughly. It has been It has been a while since I read the original canon. This author follows pretty true to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original text. The humorous puns were also quite well done.
