Life is a series of moments.Like making my first million—it was amazing, but nothing compared to the moment I saw Emery. She was the one…the game changer. The long-time, self-pronounced bachelor was ready to give it all away with one look, and luckily, she felt the same.We fell in love despite the haters and laughed at the nay-sayers who swore we would never work.It didn’t matter to us that we were from different worlds. We loved each other and the life we had planned. It was perfect. Until they took her away from me.The moment I saw her life leave her eyes, I became something she would never recognize. Revenge colored my world, and nothing would make me happy until I filled the hole Emery left behind.Years of searching, of fighting against those who wronged me and punishing others who never deserved my wrath led me to Willow Summer’s door. Something shifted, leaving me to wonder if I’d release her from her pain, or if she’d release me from mine.Love created a monster, and maybe now, love can set him free.

This book is full of delicious darkness, twists, turns, heat and will have you glued from start to finish. You will be staring at your kindle, trying to figure out what happened and what will happen next. I was shocked at every corner and not what I expected to happen at all but let me say, in the best ways to go on possible.
Brecken and Willow are two broken people that have each endured a tragic loss. One soul has turned over to the dark side , just becoming like a beast while the other soul has turned into herself and is just barely existing. When the two have been brought together , their need to conform to the lives that they have chosen have been brought to the light. They are so broken and both believe they do not deserve happiness. Theirs is twisted journey to find happiness -each of them finding different ways to deal with the blistering pain they have created. Brecken and Willow followed paths they carved uniquely for themselves.  Will Willow be able to tame the beast and find her way into the light ? Will Brecken let go of his revenge and find his heart with Willow? This is a beautiful, moving, sizzling and sexy story that will have you rooting for the main characters while sitting back and enjoying the emotional rollercoaster ride that the reader is going to be on. What a phenomenal read that authors K.L. Myers and Renee Dyer have written. I look forward to their next book.

I haven't read many stories by KL Myers, but I follow everything Renee Dyer has written. Seeing her step out of her comfort zone to write this story is amazing.
Two damaged characters, both suffering loss and trying to find a way to move on. One becomes a monster, the other a hermit, wanting nothing more than to be with her husband. When the monster makes her an offer she can't refuse, she blindly follows him.
The characters are so well written, and the writing styles blend well together to make a seamless transition between the two. Include a dual POV, and I'm loving every bit of it! Add in the twists these two throw at you, and you'll be enthralled.

description
Dark, mysterious and full of surprises…

The main characters, Brecken and Willow, were focused on two entirely separate goals – revenge and escape. When their lives intersected, the outcome was going to shock them both. And me!

Where do I begin trying to convey the many emotions this story stirred up? Love, loss, anger, grief – these characters lived and breathed them, each finding different ways to deal with the blistering pain they created. Some people shut down, others lash out but Brecken and Willow followed paths they carved uniquely for themselves. How they met, and all that followed, enveloped their lives completely – making all their emotions that much harder to bear. Events unfolded quickly with splashes of hope showing through the anger and despair, allowing them to move forward in a way that had me spinning in all sorts of directions, helplessly (yet hopefully) watching it all…

At the end I was confused by what I’d read but also very intrigued. Though I had issues with the plot twists, and the characters took a while to connect with, by the end Brecken and Willow won me over. Surprisingly, they had a huge capacity to forgive – especially themselves - and, even more importantly, an ability to love deeply again…

A writing duo I will be following!

This book was confusing to me for a majority of the book. Brecken lost his wife in a brutal murder and went over to the dark side. We get a brief glimpse on what he considers dark but we don’t get much more than that. He talks about how bad he is and the terrible things he has done but we don’t really get details except he kills bad people. Willow is a grieving widow. She lost her husband to a car accident but blames herself. I’m still not fully understanding why Brecken focused on her and was willing to kill her at first. One moment with Willow changes his mind and he wants her to live. Once I got about 60% into the book I really enjoyed Brecken’s character and enjoyed the story being told through the end of the book. This isn’t a bad book. It had a good plot, it was just somewhat confusing to follow at first. I think had we known more of what Brecken had been doing since his wife’s death it would help to understand why he saw himself the way he did. Much like the details we got from Willow about why she was lost in her grief.

This book is full of twist and turns and will leave you staring at your kindle screaming in your head what in the heck did I just read? There are so many twist and turns you have to continue reading just to see what is going to happen next. The main question I had while reading is, can an angel of mercy become a knight and shinning armor?

Brecken and Willow are two broken souls that have endured a tragic loss. One has turned to the "dark" side while the other has turned into herself. When the two are brought together their need to accept the lives they have chosen are brought to light. They are both broken hearted and believe they do not deserve to find happiness.

The back and forth between the two will leave you on the edge of your seat. The dual point of view is great when trying to figure out what the other is thinking. You will sit back and just wait for the explosion of feelings to happen, and believe me there are more than a few of those moments. All I can say is sit back and enjoy the ride you are about to endure.

Can they both see just what they have been missing in life? Will they give in? Will they finally admit that they need each other? You will just have to grab a copy to find out for yourselves.

New to me Author & Books! Now a new favorite author to me because THIS BOOK!
ALL THE FEELS I COULD HAVE, this gave it to me!! I was surprised at every corner and now what I expected at all...in the best ways possible.

The beginning GET YOUR TISSUES READY because it is so beautiful, then...the kind of pain no one should ever endure. What comes out of it is a very large, alpha and broken of a man, with a vengeance.

My heart OH MY HEART for Willow hurts! A woman, friend, writer who just wants to be r-united with her loved one. So much that she is willing to take the devil's hand. Brecken Wade, is... I want to hate and love him at the same time. I understand that he is going through the motions and the pain, but to think that not only is he doing what he thinks is for her, the letter KILL ME!

What an emotional ride this book was & I am 100% happy. I love every word and hung on it each page. Kept reading faster just to see what will happen because it was surprising, unpredictable and amazing.

Favorite quotes in the book:
"True love's kiss won't turn me into a prince. I am the beast." -Brecken

I am giving this book a 5 PLUS & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by K.L. Myers, but it is my first book by Renee Dyer. I honestly didn’t know what to expect going into this book. I was hooked from the very beginning. This story was nothing like expected in the best way possible. It was an emotional rollercoaster that I didn’t want to end.

Brecken is a man on a mission. Willow is heart broken over her loss and just wants to be back with her love. This is a story of two extremely broken people who have found that someone to help piece them back together.

The letters, oh the letters, those killed me. They brought me to tears. I could feel my heart breaking for Willow. She had lost herself and finally got the chance to find herself. I had such a love/hate relationship with Brecken. He thought he was doing what was best for Willow, but I wanted to slap that man silly for what he did. I get why, but still. It broke me.

This story was an unexpected surprise that I couldn’t put down. It broke my heart, but also put it back together again.

Dark, twisted and keeping you on edge Captured was much, much more than I expected from the blurb. I was fully engrossed the second I started reading completely captivated by the twists and turns and the raw emotion that covered every page. I don’t frequently read darker books but something about Captured, well, captured me.
Two very lost souls filled with rage and grief and their twisted journey to happiness, Willow and Brecken have a story that will not let you go once you pick it up. While not every aspect was my personal cup of tea, I could easily appreciate the fact that it would be something many others would love. There are so many moments from the heartbreaking to the jaw dropping along with a raw and gritty love that will work its way into your heart!

Phenomenal! While I have come to love anything written by K.L. This is my first time reading Renee's work.. however their writing together was flawless, and I couldn't get enough of this story!
There's dark, suspense, raw emotions, and a beauty and the beast romance. I can't do this story justice in writing a review, all I can say is you won't be sorry for picking this as your next read!

KL Myers and Renee Dyer hold nothing back in Captured. You’ll be held hostage from Chapter one intrigued with raw and grit bleeding from the pages.

Brecken is a damaged man. He becomes a monster after a severe loss. In a twist of fate, Willow enters her life. She’s endured as much pain as Brecken. The two delve through their issues and what happens no one ever expected.

Toss in the twists in turns in this dark read, and you’ll find yourself flipping the pages greedy for more.

This book captured my attention, my thoughts, my heart and then took possession of my soul. Not your typical guy meets girl romance, this one will take you to the depths of darkness but ultimately it will show you love, second chances and moving forward are possible. He was supposed to be her savior, the one that released her from the pain but what happens when the tables are turned. Captured is intense and a story that will have an impact on you. The words will weave themselves around you with suspense, secrets and a connection that is electric. A twisted love story packed full of heart and soul.

WOW…this book “captured” me from the very beginning! This dark, suspenseful romance is an emotional roller coaster that kept me wanting more! Brecken spend years trying to make peace with his wife Emery’s horrendous death, but the more he tries, the deeper he falls into a world of doom and gloom…until he finds Willow! He prays that she will be the one to set him free from his misery…will her demise help him find his peace, or will she destroy him even more? Willow is fighting her own demons after the death of her husband and is ready to give up her life so she can be with him again. When Brecken finds her, she knows he’s the one who will help her be with her husband again…
Great read!!!

Dark and Twisted

Breckon and Willow were both broken people from the losses they suffered but each of them went about handling the grief in different ways. Breckon had turned into a monster and he was going to help Willow achieve her goal until he seen more to her and now wasn’t willing to abide by her will.

Just about the time I thought there couldn’t be anymore big turns I was left sitting with my mouth hanging open again and again.

LOVED this twisted story. Renee is a go to author for me , I am new to reading KL. I honestly have no clue who wrote what and that seemed crazy to me because I know Renee's writing !! This more a 4.5 star than a 4 - I did have a couple things that left me desiring a bit more for it to be a 5 star but regardless a great read and definitely one I would recommend. Also wondering if they will team up again to write more ?

Brecken's story is heartbreaking. Losing your wife on your honeymoon is something nobody should endure. I feel like we have a good idea of what lead to those events BUT this loss changed Brecken and since I am a really dark and twisted junkie I would have loved a section of the story devoted to Brecken's life in between losing his wife and finding Willow as a target. Either way he is drawn to Willow because of her loss and what it has done to her. He is kind of an angel of death for those with nothing to lose. Willow is severely broken after her loss and at times it was a bit much BUT who is to say how anyone should grieve. It is sad to see just how much a loss can break someone. Willow doesn't ask for Brecken but he comes anyway. I don't really get the why or how BUT something about her changes his normal course of action and much to his surprise. When you get into Brecken's head and see him it shows that he is actually an amazing man that does have a capacity to love and cherish those close to him. The focus of the story changes from Brecken wanting to give Willow what she is looking for - relief, to almost forcing her to see what she could become if she only believed in herself again and embraced life. There was one twist near the end that I can't decide about , was it really needed, could there have been another way ?? I don't know how forgiveness comes about for that piece of the story but I am glad it does because I enjoyed the ending very much. Thanks ladies !!

WHAT IN THE HELL DID I JUST READ?! While the blurb intrigued me a great deal, I NEVER saw the story Captured coming! These two authors did a phenomenal job writing together, and I hope they do so again! Brecken lost his wife in a brutal act which turned him very very dark, although, I can totally see his point on a lot of it to be honest. Willow lost her husband, and while she hasn't gone to the dark side, she wants to not exist anymore in a world without her husband. Enter Brecken in her life. He says he's going to take her pain, but it doesn't take long before the tables may be turned. Could it be fate stepping in?! Yeah this story was totally an original read unlike any other. The twists were crazy, because I couldn't guess how this was going to go, all the way up to the end. So I just talked to my kindle like I was talking to them, or should I say calling people colorful metaphors & dropping f-bombs. And the emotional overload was almost too much at times, because the pain seeped through said kindle to punch me in the gut. So yeah, what an amazing story that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Twists, big ones! Suspense, lots! Darkness, deep! Emotional, you better believe it! This book had me up till midnight, then I stayed up to write this, wow! I'm all worn out now, I feel like I got pushed through an old cloths wringer, so many feelings rolling around in my head. Matt was perfect for the cover on this, his look fits the character so much. The two characters in this story go through so much pain, it's raw and deeply powerful. To see a spark of light filter through and then a smile or a snarky comment start showing up was just relief. Maybe they would end up saving each other and all would be well, but did I mention twists? I just couldn't put it down until I finished it. Phew! Honestly such an exciting and thrilling read I need to process it all now. Started and finished 5/1/22

4 1/2 STARS!

I went into this one blind, I had no idea what it was about. I saw that Renee Dyer was one of the authors so with that I knew I had to read it. It's a twisty and a little dark read. Breken has endured unimaginable lost. He has reinvented himself as a rough mean guy. Willow has suffered a great lost too. She's lost in life and just wants the pain to end. Brecken promises Willow he will end her pain. Bot these characters have layers and definitely have there wall up. The more I read more Brecken because less monster and more human like. This one at times was an emotional roller coaster. This one is definitely an interesting read.

Def Dark and gritty moments, but not to the point where it was gory. I really appreciated the story's edgy elements. There were several unexpected twists. I would read both of these authors again.

However, I did think it took me a while to get into the story because it was really an out-there premise. One should def suspend belief to really slip into a story that ends up becoming pretty intriguing.

When the talents of KL Myers and Renee Dyer collided Captured was born. Captured takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride as we find out what the future holds for two lost souls looking for an escape from their pain. Brecken and Willow suck you in and you can’t walk away. This book is the epitome of a page turner. It’s not your typical romance and the twisted experiences make this book an amazing tale.

Torn.

I’m torn on how to review this book. Two things stood out for me: (1) I could tell that it was written by two authors. In my opinion, it wasn’t a seamless transition from one chapter to the next. (2) I didn’t feel the chemistry between the two main characters. That being said, the plot was amazing. I would recommend this book for that alone. It was different and intriguing. I kind of wish the authors had played up the monster more than they did.

5 what the heck did I just read stars!!!!

This book captured me right from the start, I was totally engrossed. I was hesitant and terrified on what the journey would bring. Then I was thrilled at what was happening...and then the authors slayed me. Seriously I was screaming noooooo while reading in the tub. But they're sneaky little buggers. You'll have to experience this on your own to understand. Highly recommend!!

I really liked the concept of how Brecken ended up like he is. I think that story could have gone far. I wasn’t a fan of Willow and how she ended up in Brecken’s life. It felt like a stretch in order to find a female character for Brecken to fall in love with. Overall I wish this book had gone in a different direction then I would have enjoyed it more.

Screwed up

Talk about a screwed up book, this is one. I will admit it kept me going. Still a very strange book. Brecken is one messed up man, but Willow is even more of a mess. I would hate to live in her head. It would be exhausting to be Willow day in and day out.
