There is never a moment in the second Military Precision Heroes story where suspense declines, as the need to find a workable solution becomes increasingly crucial. When a paramilitary organization is hired to find not only who took a virus that kills but to also protect a researcher, the team realizes time is not on their side. As one member guards the woman who just might be able to save mankind, the couple find themselves becoming emotionally involved in not only the case but each other. Kimberly Van Meter kept me engrossed in every happening, as nothing is ever guaranteed with so many uncertainties continuously arising.

Working for Red Wolf Elite has given Zak Ramsey plenty of dicey tasks to carry out. Though his current assignment does not seem to be dangerous, it is definitely important. Someone has stolen the only sample of a deadly pathogen from a lab, and he will be watching over Dr. Caitlin Willows who needs to quickly recreate the formula in order for a cure to be found. Zak makes the scientist anxious since he is always nearby, but she tries to concentrate on what must be done. As his investigation heats up, so does the feelings between him and Caitlin.

I was immediately pulled into the riveting storyline where developments are frighteningly realistic, plus I became extremely worried when a new situation took a bad turn. SOLDIER PROTECTOR is frequently dramatic with vividly depicted incidents, and I was often affected by the events taking place. In today’s world, there is always the possibility of biological warfare, and the author makes her book seem all too true.

Zak is someone who does his very best to be successful when undertaking a mission, but this time, it also becomes very personal. He and Caitlin are first at odds, but soon become closer when they learn more about the other. I liked how honest they were, always speaking what they were feeling and not holding back. Their comments were sometimes witty, while a few conversations revealed their inner thoughts. Seeing how these two individuals with vastly different personalities would react was repeatedly entertaining. The story certainly kept my interest all the way through.

I voluntarily reviewed the book, and all comments are my honest opinion - Rating: 4.5 Stars

Caitlin and Zak seem to have nothing in common at first glance and that is their own impression of each other for the first part of the book. She is the geeky introverted scientist thinking that Zak was the hot guy who was captain of the football team and resents having him in her space. To Zak, Caitlin is so scary smart that she probably thinks everyone else is dumb. Caitlin does not think she needs protection as she is only a scientist. In her mind, Zak should be spending his time recovering the stolen sample virus. Her boss thinks otherwise so Zak becomes her shadow, which sends Caitlin into an emotional tailspin compounded by what later realizes is a strong physical attraction to Zak. Zak is intrigued and exasperated by Caitlin. She has a depth that he has not seen in women before, she is stubborn and blunt - he cannot easily define her.

As the danger escalates, Zak and Caitlin become more emotionally involved although both regard the attraction as something temporary triggered by the situation. When Caitlin retrieves blood samples from victims of the virus putting herself in danger of infection, Zak figures out this relationship is not temporary. Caitlin and Zak get their happy ending but getting there tests them to their limits.

He is a security specialist who works for Red Wolf Elite and now Zak Ramsey has been tasked with protecting Dr. Caitlin Willows. A sample of a super pathogen the only sample in existence it will be up to the doctor to create a new sample so that a cure can be created It may not be the most dangerous case that Zac has worked but it will be dangerous in other ways He could lose his heart to this feisty woman if she doesn't kill him for always been at er shoulder. There will be plenty of suspense and drama before this book comes to its stunning conclusion

This book was a little predictable, but the leading female was strong, smart, and good-hearted, and the leading male was a big teddy bear under the gruff, so that made up for it. Most of the other characters seemed a little underdeveloped or perhaps crammed into shallow boxes, but overall the book was entertaining.

Awesome Book

This book starts off strong and keeps on packing a punch. Fast pace, and a good combination of romance and mystery. Not overly heavy on the romance side which is good in a mystery. The plotline of the mystery is exceedingly good. Made my heart race. Could not wait to get to the end. Then did not want it to end. Great read.

I am not really sure of my thoughts on this book. It was not bad, yet it was not super exciting either. It was kind of a slow starter story that picked up the pace and became more exciting about halfway through. I kept thinking about stopping but kept saying ‘ just one more chapter and I will see’, and I am glad that I did because I did start to enjoy it the more I read.

Overall, I did enjoy Caitlin and Zac. She was sweet, naïve, dedicated, stubborn and determined while Zak was the rough and tough alpha male with a hidden softer side for the nerdy scientist. Once the crazy stuff started, they made a good team. I enjoyed their banter and the blossoming of their relationship. I did not really care for Rebecca, one of Caitlin’s assistants; she was super hyper and annoying with her constant sex remarks and regardless of the life and death virus situation, she was more concerned about Caitlin’s sex life than working to find a cure. It just seems like really dedicated scientists in a serious crisis situation would act more professional under the circumstances. I enjoyed the interaction between Zak and his team; their banter was easy going and you could tell that they had a good bond of trust and friendship that ran deep. The book was a slower start read, but once it picked up the pace there was plenty of action, suspense, fun banter, drama, and romance with a few surprises I did not see coming.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This was a fascinating story. It was a little slow in the beginning but that was just setting up a good foundation for the rest of the story. Zak is the essence of a true alpha hero. Rough around the edges but super protective of his lady. Caitlin is an extremely intelligent scientist. She is socially awkward with no filter. These two are so opposite of each other. I really didn't how they could possibly come together at all.

Once the action started, things moved quickly. Caitlin starts to realize that Zak does know what is best at protecting her. The chemistry between these two start to take off and things really start to bring about changes with them. I really appreciated the dual POV format. It really helps me as a reader to fully understand and identify with the characters.

This book is a great read. But like I said, it does start a little slow but don't give up. Things will start to heat up and take off. You will be glad you did.

Love a good suspenseful romance and when you throw in ex-military members it is even better. Dr. Willows is working for a company with a dubious background. One day, the lab is broken into and a biological weapon stolen. But who stole it and why?

Tessara Pharmaceuticals hires Red Wolf Elite to provide security/protection and help figure out who stole the biological weapon. Zak Ramsey is assigned to "babysit" Dr. Willows. The only thing is will the instant attraction between him and Dr. Willows impact his fulfilling his mission? Will he give in to this attraction or keep her at arms length until the theft is solved?

There were some twists and turns along the way and I was kept guessing as to who was behind the theft and why. This book has me wanting to go back and read Xander and Scarlett's story.

Suspense, ex military heroes, smart women. Check, check and check. Romance, plausible possibility, check and check. I believe I might have missed book one in the Military Precision but this can be read as a stand alone. The scary part is this could happen. It was great to read about a highly intelligent women, Dr Willows. I appreciated the fact that she was socially awkward, she was busy learning, when did she have time to learn the social cues? Zak made my heart sing and hurt, his background, his sister, I wanted to wrap my arms around him. Suffice to say Dr Willows did more than that. This was non stop, little room for breathing, and I love the twists on the enemy. I would recommend this as an enjoyable read, that makes you feel. Thank you Book Sprout for the arc. All thoughts an opinions are my own and were unsolicited.

Kimberly Van Meter is a new author for me and I really enjoyed her new suspense story for Harlequin Intrigue. Romance, danger, a hunky hero, and a brainy heroine combined with a terrific romance make this an enjoyable 5 star read.

Grace Willows is a chemist working on a serum for a viral weapon acquired by a private company under mysterious circumstances and Zak Ramsey is the private security- bodyguard hired to protect her when her life is threatened. I liked that this wasn't a typical woman in peril story and Grace was a scientist. The is attraction for each other is a case of opposites attract, for sure. But it works.

I'd read Ms. Van Meter again.

Thanks Booksprout for the opportunity to read and provide my honest review of this story.

Zak Ramsey is a security specialist who works for Red Wolf Elite.
Dr. Caitlin Willows is a scientist who has to create a new sample of pathogen so that a cure can be created.
Zak is charged with protecting her so this can be achieved. It is dangerous work, there are twists and turns that will make you hold your breath. Added to which, is the attraction felt by both.
Will Caitlin achieve her goal and produce a cure? Will these two allow their attraction to take root? Will they have a HEA?
