The love story Khardine Gray tells of between Jia and the Englishman Hunter is smooth, easy reading, full of chemistry, loss, family, and a love and talent for art. The two have each come to a bar in LA to get drunk to stifle the pain they were currently experiencing. They did spend the night together, but Jia sneaks out the next morning and can't remember much. But when she goes to interview with her old boss, the owner of the art company Impasso, she is surprised when he tells her that for the next 16 weeks she will be competing for the position and then introduces her to the Brad Pit look-alike from the bar, Hunter. Not only that, but they must collaborate, communicate and produce together. The next day she learns that he is the protege of his famous artist grandfather, on whom she did her thesis for her art degree. This is a very entertaining read as the two spend time together, falling in love, not competing, but eventually coming to the time for their portfolios to be judged with the prize being the one job both crave!
