Demon slayer Alivia Knight has had a lot to deal with her first month in the city of Edgewood, but now it seems things have gotten even more complicated. She’s having a hard time finding her aunt, who was taken by supernaturals, and she’s developing feelings for Liam, Ryker, Kayden, and Finn, the Magnetic Four. If that’s not enough, she soon learns about a plot that threatens the entire human world.
The responsibility should rest on her shoulders only, but she’s no longer alone. She has her guys at her side. Together, the five of them piece together the clues to locating her aunt and stopping the supernaturals. But will they succeed? And will Alivia be able to make sense of her confusing feelings?
Not a bad book, but I didn't like how a lot of plot points were handled. A reverse harem requires a little finesse to feel organic. The changes in the relationship statuses were stunted and kinda detached. "Do you like me?" "Let's share." Done. Disappointing. It doesn't have to be overly angsty, but a little emotional dynamics would have been really helpful.
Also, the errors in this series are atrocious. I've gotten used to typos (hard to avoid these days), but I get irritated when there are mistakes that even a Word document would give you side-eye over. Even cursory editing should pick up this stuff.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
5 stars for Hunted by Danica Rayne. This is book two in the Beasts of Edgewood series. I am really enjoying this series. “Because we were supposed to be enemies it made out bond even stronger. WE were more than our natures-we were friends.” Alivia and the guys are hunting to find out who is starting all the fires. I am enjoying seeing the relationships between Alicia and the guys grow. I am loving Finn. I just want to hug him. I can not wait to see what is to come for Alivia, Finn, Kayden, Ryker, and Liam. This book had more suspense, and drama than the first book. I am starting book three now. BRING IT ON.
First and foremost if the mc does not quit saying “it’s all my fault” I’m going to throw my phone. It makes her sound like whiniest person in the world. Second of all there’s very little emotional depth or development. Thirdly I have never met ANY teenager who is ok with sharing a girlfriend. Nor have I met a girl who has the self confidence to suggest to 4 males that she date them all. And then for there to be NO fallout? This book needs some work
This book is much better than the first of the series. I don’t have too much to say about it. It is a pretty straight-forward book. Overcoming internal struggles, strengthening relationships set in the first book, getting one step closer to saving the world. Overall it is a good book, a quick and easy read.
This story centers around Alivia and the Magnetic Four trying to find her aunt. I liked seeing their relationships progress, especially with Finn and Liam :) I am really enjoying Rayne’s unique take on the supernatural mythology and can’t wait to see what is in store for the gang next :)
They are a lot closer now! And Finn, he is just so sweet, well all of them are! When they are all together, that sweet, fuzzy feeling fills your heart making you want to root for them! I look forward for the 3rd book!
Really enjoyed this book can’t wait for book 3. Thought the development of the characters in this book were very good and I really liked the fact that the author didn’t try hiding the negatives of the characters but instead acknowledged them for what they were.
Better than the first book but still has a way to go. The grammar issues are prevalent and the MC repeats the same lines repeatedly: “It’s all my fault” and “I’m a slayer”🤦♀️ The creation of the actual harem was just a “this is what we’re doing” and everyone was okay with it....kind of blah.
Danica wrote another compelling book in this series about a teenage Hunter and her four best friends, who are each supernaturals themselves. A few twists and turns later, and I need book three.
This second installment was just as good. I appreciate how slow the romance is and how clean it is. I love the characters and how they continue to develop and grow. While not traditional this story is definitely sweet
Again so good ! It’s getting better and better and I don’t want it to end ! It makes me sad tho that Liam can’t touch her it’s driving me crazy ! But it’s so good it definitely leaves me wanting more
This was better than the first book in the series. It held my interest longer. The characters are growing on me. For some reason I was much less invested in them in the first book.
Hunted is much better than the first book, Slayer. It went into detail about what was happening and I had more of an insight about the workings of the supernatural world and how they operate. I do feel like the romance was rushed a bit in the end but I like how they ended it. Finn is defiantly my favorite romance option for her. I feel like she can help him free himself and how he can ground her. Very curious as to what the next book contains.
