Can you believe the size of it? It’s just so big, so thick, so out there...Rumor is it’s named and trademarked. How cocky can the man be? Parker Kent is the latest craze. He’s stupid hot.Women fall at his feet.Men want to be him.Fourteen-foot-high billboards of him in his Calvin Kleins cause automobile accidents daily. He’s like Nickelback or the Kardashians. We claim to love to hate them, but secretly…As much as I’m ashamed to admit it, I’m not immune to his charm. But that was my guilty pleasure to keep to myself. The closest I figured I’d ever get to him was the billboard near my apartment. Now he’s asking me to assess his prize possession for insurance purposes. Are the rumors true? I guess I’m about to find out.
I've enjoyed some of the author's previous books so when I saw this one I thought it had a lot of potential as an original and humorous play on some recent hashtag scandals in the romance market. I was hoping for a cute romcom, but I couldn't get past the first chapter that was offered up as an except. Heroine's first meeting of the hero finds him half naked with 3 half naked women, to which it is inferred he shared a foursome with the prior evening. Sorry (#notsorry) that's just not romantic, appealing, or productive to connecting w/the H&h as a couple if I have the imagine of him rolling around with three other women in my head.
"...the trio saunter to the door. 'Sorry we had to cut this short ladies.' He leans against the door, both women trapped between his body and the hand currently palming wood. And not the wood in his boxers; the prominent wood that's evident even from where I'm standing on the other side of the room. No, the door. His hand is on the door while he seductively bites his lip. 'I was hoping we'd have time for a repeat of last night.'"
This one goes in the Pass/Can't get past the sample pile...
Laughed my arse off through most of this book! Parker Kent wants to insure his ( for the sake of my review not being published ) you know what :) and Breezy get's offered the job of doing it only she is in a way shall we say not his number 1 fan? lol The man is a havoc to women everywhere and not to mention his ego seems to be the size of a football field or is it? :) read it and find out what happens very funny book!
Would Parker Be My Book boyfriend? Hell yes! he is mine #Claimed
While not a home run romcom for me, this one still tickled my funny-bone with likable characters, that it's a solid 4.
Parker (H) is an up-and-coming actor known for his bad boy persona and the size of his... package. It's such a part of his brand that he decides to have it insured. Enter Bree (h), innocent insurance agent assigned to handle his case (*ahem*). Cue sparks, some drama, some personal growth, and eventually an HEA.
While well done, the plot itself is pretty formulaic, once you're past the meet-cute. Well, "meet" - I'm not sure if a playboy's morning after is really cute. Still, you don't get a lot of him whoring around during the story after they meet - it's more him figuring out what has intrigued him about her, trying to get more of her time and attention, and of course, enjoying where things lead. I liked how he was enjoying the slow pace too, actually - a chance to savor what they had. Nice change from the characters who are all about the end game.
I definitely liked how Parker grew as a character. Not just in relation to Bree, but actually seeing the other side impacts of his media persona - how kids (the cookie class) and strangers (the car wreck) were impacted by him. A detail not usually covered in 'reformed bad boy' sorts of romances.
The cookie joke came and went as funny. Sometimes it felt a little forced, but overall felt like the type of inside joke a couple might have. And I liked that he had a sweet tooth (and was having to give it up to maintain his professional appearance).
I mentioned recently that I hated the trope of "character seen with someone of opposite sex, cuing jealousy and ghosting from other lead". This one skirted close to it, but I was very proud that both Bree and Parker faced it and ended up being introduced to the other's sibling instead. This somehow made it more disappointing when Bree shut him out after the Interview and Misunderstanding. Yes, he had screwed up more, and there was a lot more evidence and damage done. But he was trying to apologize. I just struggle in general with characters who won't fight for what/who they want - or even try to talk things out to get the details - all while professing how deeply they love this person. If you're going to be heartbroken either way, at least get the whole story!
A few typos and errors, but not enough to be distracting.
Alternating 1st person POV. No love triangles, no cheating, no OW/OM drama - though a big misunderstanding about all of the above. Likable characters who both grew during the story. Funny moments and sweet moments and a healthy dose of steam too. Instant attraction, but a story that unfolds over months - while not slow burn, still a good pace - yay! A touch of communication could have helped, but we'd've lost his Grand Gestures (yes, more than one). HEA and epilogue. No cliffhanger, but you can see some potential for another story or two in the side characters.
Would I read more from this author/in this series? Yes to both.
Damn even his name is hot. • Parker Kent is a famous actor and playboy extraordinaire with a big....heart (what? What did you think I was going to say?). Weeelllll he also has a big d@&$ which is what he’s mostly famous for. In fact, his big *ahem* member is what brought Bree into his life. He hired the insurance company she works at to insure his “asset” and she just so happens to be the lucky lady on his case. • Bree surprisingly is not enamored by the mere presence of Parker, in fact at first she can’t even stand the guy. I actually really liked that about her. Bree is outspoken and is not afraid to express her dislike for Parker. This book kind of had an “enemies to lover” feel....except the feelings were one-sided. • All in all this book was a well written, easy read with some hot scenes mixed in as well.
Funny, sexy, sweet, but mostly funny This is a great romp through a romance trope of up and coming movie star meets cute insurance salesperson
Bree and Parker Kent have a sexy first meeting, what with him ushering out his twin menage at the start of her visit
Her loathing turns to reluctant liking, all fuelled by the undercurrent of lust that sparks between them
A bad decision about his career has Parker regretting his decision as Bree gets her heart broken But by the final chapters his heart speaks for him to bring her back to his arms and the pussy assassin she loves so much.
A winning combination of humor and heat, this newest release will have you smiling from start to finish. Parker and Bree’s character doesn’t seem to be a perfect match but this is a great example of opposite attracts. The storyline was well written and had great flow and was just what I needed to start the new year. This is a must read for 2019 that will bring laughter and delicious loving and doesn’t disappoint.
This book is a sweet and sexy unexpected romance. Loved both of the lead characters and side characters. Would love a story about Dutch. Bree works for an insurance company and has been hired to ensure Parker's brand aka his package. They strike up an unexpected super sweet and sexy romance from there. He's a renowned playboy, she's a virgin., what could go wrong? Cookies
I enjoyed this book, though it did take some effort! I read the 2nd in the series prior to this one, which I LOVED and gave me high expectations. I felt that the beginning of the book felt slightly contrived, however the story got better as it went on. Misti will definitely be an author I continue to read and I can't wait to delve into more of her titles!
Bree hates Parker...the stupid well endowed hunk whose new billboard is causing mayhem on her daily commute...and suddenly her work sends her on a new assignment...help insure Parkers penis...that's right....his penis because it's his brand. Insert eye roll. But this play boy isn't ready for Bree. And how she makes him feel...but if he cant get over his brand will it cause him to loose the love of his life
Overall this was a super adorable read but enough with the cookies!! It was cute at first but the author killed the joke. Also, the way the heroine spoke about certain things just made her feel way younger than she was... Parker (hero) was really sweet and I really liked him even if his intro wasn't the best and he made dumb decisions.
I would recommend if you're in the mood for a light-hearted and a bit silly read.
This book has it all! Bad boy, sweet girl, crazy gay best friend and a accident causing billboard! It is hilarious and the innuendos will male you giggle! I think type only one to love cookies more than Parker is cookie monster lol! You may even tear up depending on how into this book you get, I did!
So i read these in reverse order (Dating Dutch then Trademarked) but i couldn't put either down...the stories captured me and I read both within a day. I absolutely love each and every character and the feels I had reading this were worth the lack of sleep and book hangover! Buy both, indulge, and grab some cookies while you're at it...
I loved the absolute sweetness of this book. There were only a few things that bothered me, but I would read this book again. It was a sweet book and really showed how our pasts don't define us.
I’ve always enjoy a good Misti Murphy book and this one is no exception. Under all Parker’s playboy airs, he was a really sweet guy. He just took it to another level with his little buddy. I don’t think you can blame him for doing it.
Aww I loved this one. Even if I did read the series backwards. It’s fantastic. I love the heat and the instant connection. Plenty of nuggets of humor thrown in and one colossal screw up. These two are it though. Perfect together. Loved it!
I really enjoyed this one, Parker and Bree are so cute together and super hot between the sheets and everywhere else that they can get it on, I am excited to read Dutch's story, well written, loved it.
I really enjoyed this story. I loved Parker. He seemed like a jerk, but he actually was a sweetheart and I loved that. And well..cookies have a whole new meaning to me now. lol
I really enjoyed Bree & Parker's story. Somehow these two worked. Loved the characters. Great book. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book.
I actually give it 2.5*. Google reads doesn’t let give 1/2 stars. Book about a model/actor and an insurance agent girl. Didn’t feel much for the characters, the heroine was a little annoying, the hero too suave but he evolved into a more likable character. I feel something was missing to the plot and it was funny at times. I get the attraction but Love between the characters ???? POV: dual Sex/ smut: yes a lot Dialogue: not enough, everything mostly thoughts in their heads. UGH! Secondary characters: yes I actually read her bother’s book first which I liked and therefore wanted to know about this book. I actually liked more Tim her bff than the main characters. OM/OW: not but misunderstandings and lack of communication from the heroine to the hero crated the drama between them. Would I recommend: maybe for a fast smutty no much plot story. HEA: yes! Would I read it again: no! Once is enough.
This was a cute and funny short read. I will definitely come back you more of Misty’s especially if I’m in a funk and need something funny to get me over that hump.
