Blurb sounded good so I gave it a try but it’s neither here nor there for me.
Nothing to write home about but not awful.
Lots of pushing away by the H.
Lots of trying hard by the h.

After just finishing Luck of the Devil I am struggling to find the right words to describe my feelings on the book. There are so many of them, but the simplest thing to say would be that my mind is blown.

I've been waiting for this story from the moment I finished Sins of the Father. Marie James teased us so much about Briar and Molly in that one that the build up was huge. It was all worth it though. This story was dark and delicious and just something impossible for me to put down. It was a brother's best friend unlike anything I've ever read before. It had a slow build feel and so much tension and danger. It was just so amazing.

Now I get to wait, none too patiently for the next book. I hope it features TJ and that it's as insane and even darker the the two before since TJ just seems like he needs a really dark book. Either way I have no doubts it will be great as Marie James has never disappointed before.

Being a MC princess is not all it's cracked up to be for Molly especially when she loves her brother's, the president, best friend. Briar knows the one thing he wants is not meant to be his.

This is a great forbidden love story. Loved the journey

Here goes....I did enjoy it but there were instances I wanted to throttle Lynch for his high handedness and TJ just for being such a crazy ass jerk. Loved Briar and sweet Molly.

Lynch and TJ warned everybody in the club away from their baby sister. She is all grown up now and has her sights set on Briar, Lynch’s VP, but he has to stay away from her or risk death. But is Molly worth the risk of dying for a little taste? Briar knows he is risking his life every time he even looks at her too long. When Lynch and TJ get word that Briar has been involved with Molly they lose their s**t. Does Briar really lose his life for loving Molly? Will Molly ever be able to forgive her brothers? I can’t wait for TJ’s story!!!!

Past 50% I ended up skimming this book. It is one of the worst MC books I have read. It doesnt even make sense half the time. I cant even believe this is the same author who wrote Cerebus MC. It does not read like a normal MC books, minimal brother loyalty, just really screwed up. Probably enough that I will never read this author again.

Molly has been crushing hard on her older brother's best friend since she was fourteen years old. Four years later and those feelings have only intensified, despite never being reciprocated beyond friendly and familial. With two brothers to keep any and all guys away, especially since one is the president of the Ravens Ruin MC and the other always thirsty for blood, Molly is beyond frustrated and ready to make her move to prove she isn't a little girl anymore. But Briar is older and a tougher nut to crack and not ready to go against his club and best friend just for a girl, no matter who she is.

Luck of the Devil was such a great book to read. I love that the story goes beyond a simple lust between characters and actually gets into club business as well. I really liked Molly's character and how she decided to take matters into her own hands, not just with Briar but also with becoming independent and getting a job. Briar was definitely a bad boy biker minus the hooking up with women who hang around the club. He's loyal where it counts and lovable when he needs to be but there's a darkness inside him that keeps Briar in check, knowing something bad will happen if he chose to let go. These two characters together had such good chemistry along with the banter to not let things get stale. I know I'll be getting into the other Ravens Ruin books especially with that ending and knowing so much more is to come.

Book two of the Raven Ruins MC series, and it's just getting hotter and more dangerous. In the first story, we find out that Briar the VP, and Molly, the Princess, have a thing but Briar knows that he can't go there... that it will mean his death if he does. But despite the warning they can't resist each other. In a story of twists and turns, with lots of push and pull, Marie James takes us on a journey that keeps you locked into your kindle until the very last word. Raven Ruins MC is more of a grittier read, giving us more of the down and dirty MC life. This was a great story and I give this 5 stars.

We saw the attraction between Briar and Molly in book one but we also knew that Molly's big brother, and Briar's club President, had banned anyone from touching her or they will pay with their life. Briar has also been celibate for 10 years and now that we find out why in this book, it makes Briar's attraction to Molly doubly dangerous. This was a very good, dark read. This is a darker series than Marie James' Cerberus MC with much more twisted characters, especially Molly's brother TJ who I imagine will getting his own book at some point. I really enjoyed Luck of the Devil and give it 5 stars.

Marie James did it again with her book about Briar and Molly. This couple really loves each other and goes through many obstacles to be together.

I loved the way that Marie had Briar be so caring toward Molly but rough towards everything else.

I recommend you read this book and all the the Ravens Ruin MC.- By Kristina

Luck of the Devil - The second book in this gripping Ravens Ruin series - Can be read as a standalone but to fully connect with all of the characters, I would highly recommend reading book 1 - Sins of The Father first.

I was dying to read Briar and Molly's story and Marie James did not disappoint, Briar is hiding and fighting past demons alongside his desire for his Presidents sister, a sister who has been ordered untouchable to each and every member of the Ravens Ruin MC. Will he finally give it all up including his life for the only woman that has tempted him since one fatal night.

Molly, sweet Molly the club's Princess is ready to move on from a man she has lusted after for so long, but what type of man will tempt her eye and will he fill her heart & desires like Briar could.

A gripping, emotional and hot as hell sex scenes with some darker themes read #oneclick

During Sins of the Father, I was very intrigued by Briar. You could tell he was a tortured soul. Then you have Molly. The MCs Princess. The one he cannot touch. There attraction is evident right from the start. Their pull almost magnetic. But there was so much Briar was hiding. I loved Molly’s character as she has the right amount of spunk, especially living in the world that she does. This MC is very dark but very loyal. They are rough and tumble. There is the right amount of angst and passion through the story and it honestly leaves you wanting more. I highly recommend this one if you are looking for a really unique take on the MC world. Marie James knocked it out of the park.

Can’t get enough of this series! This book was everything I had hoped for, and so much more. I cried, I laughed, and held my kindle in a death grip, till the very last page....SO GOOD!

Briar is the Vice President of the Raven’s Ruin MC. Not that, that stands for anything, if wants to be with the love of his life. She’s the one woman he can’t have, but the only one he wants. Molly is the Princess of the MC and strictly forbidden...

Love all the characters in this series. Highly recommend if you love MC Romance

Love this author and this series. It is most definitely on the grittier side of MC life. Although, it's not as dark as the first book of this series.

The author always does an amazing job creating characters that are multidimensional and I appreciate that as I'm trying to figure them out our what their motivating driving force is.

Can't wait for the next story. It ended with a brief look that has my attention piqued.

What a ride .
What Molly feels for Briar is shown with ever word in this book , what he feels for Molly even deeper, their love has been denied long enough.
Is he willing to die for their love?
The twists and turns in this book had me on the edge of my seat.
The love these two have made my heart hurt
Will they make it to happy?

Book 2!!! I was so excited for this. The first book kicked off the series amazingly and this one lived up to that and then some.

This time around the feel of the book was completely different. I felt the tension between Briar and Molly in book 1. That was like a slow tease to the main event.

Briar, VP to Ravens Ruin MC. Best friend to the Prez Lynch. For the past ten years his life has been the club. A self imposed celibacy stopped him from having any love. He lives for his club and the life it gave him. Nothing will ever change in his life but sometimes a man can dream. The dream? Lynch's little sister Molly.

Molly grew up in the club. She's the princess no one is allowed to touch. She got out for a while but she's back and has her sights set on the one man that has been a constant presence in her life. Briar. She knows he's a lot older than she is and that her brother will never allow them to date but she fell for him long ago and no one will ever compare.

Despite her best efforts Briar is adamant that they will never happen. He digs his heels in even when she offers him everything he ever dreamed of. He can never go there with Molly. His club, his best friend, his life, her safety would all be gone if he gave in to his desires. Even though he knows it will kill him he tells her she needs to find someone who's nice and normal and can give her the picket fence life.

Molly is devastated and vows to do just as he says.

I was a little surprised if i'm honest by the change in pace from the first book but by the end i found i loved it that way. I'm glad it was because it fit the couple perfectly. It was never going to be easy for them because of the situation.

Briar had a little of my heart already but by the end of the book he'd taken it all. He was so stuck in his head worrying about pretty much everything but his happiness. He put everyone else first and i kinda loved and hated that about him. The amount of times i wanted to jump in that book and give him a shake was ridiculous!! Infuriating man!! But underneath it all, his years of loving Molly from afar overruled everything. He would die for Molly and well that's always a swoony quality to have in a book boyfriend!

Molly was everything i hoped she be. Fun and feisty but also vulnerable. She knew she loved him and tried everything to get him but one knock back too many from him broke her a little. She tried the outside world but her place would always be at the MC. She is the princess after all!

I think one of the things that made me love this book was the relationship between Lynch and Briar. The back and forwards between them was quite gripping and i was waiting for the confrontation between them. When it came i almost wet myself!! It was a big O.M.G moment.

I loved seeing all the other members too. There's a few i'm dying for. This series is set to be a rough, sexy, taboo, outrageous ride!! Rev that engine i'm ready to go!

I'm loving this series. It's different and thrilling to read. This book threw a spanner in the works as to how i thought the series would pan out. I was expecting it to be a little cray cray like book 1 but it wasn't. Although there are certainly eyebrow raising moments it changed pace and as i said this surprised me but i loved it!! I like the unexpected and the way it's going this series is definitely that!!

Marie James is fast becoming a fave and this series is just cementing that fact. I love her writing. It's original and thrilling and keeps you on your toes. Brilliant!! Bring on TJ!! He's a complete psycho... i can't bloody wait!!

5 Amazingly Dark, Gritty, Love Worth Fighting For Stars

First things first. Superbly written MC life. Excellent job Ms. James.

This is book two in The Ravens Ruins MC. It can be read as a standalone but I would read book one just so you can get a feel for the characters. Now, I have read lots of books by Marie James and have loved them all. This one I love as well but is altogether different. It is dark. It is gritty, raw and feels real. To me, this one depicts what I believe a real MC would be. Take no prisoners and show no mercy. Even if you are club member and break the rules. Yes, see what I mean? Different. They are mean, tough and brutal. This Luck Of the Draw is filled with life or death choices at every turn. Any action taken can make you end up dead. I was so invested that when I started this book my family was up and just chilling. I had to put it down until when my family went to bed. I needed quiet. This book needed my undivided attention. I was so drawn that when I started I kept saying one more page. Then it was let me finish this chapter. Well, that went on until I was completely done. Then BAM!!! I now need the next book because it was left on a cliffhanger that leads us to the next story or couple you could say.

I don't know where to begin. I remember from book one the energy and the charge between Briar and Molly. There is so much sexual tension right now it was palpable.

Briar is the VP of the club and best friends with the President, Lynch and another club member, TJ. Both are the brothers of Molly. So you see Molly is off limits. Lets also not forget her age. There is an eleven-year difference between them. Then add in that both Lynch and TJ have told every member plus prospect that Molly is completely off limits in general.

Molly has been raised in this MC and she knows how it works. She and her best friend Zoe are here. I like Molly she is a good girl who makes a dumb choice at the beginning that has some damage to it.

This book on the main characters are given so many chances and do nothing with it. Not in the sense you think I am saying. Lack of communication her on both Briar and Molly. I loved the characters. I loved their journey and the fight for what they want. No matter what happened. There are times when I wanted to reach in and smack Lynch and TJ. Though I was a bigger fan of TJ. He is a sick bastard. Zoe was an ok friend and I loved the doctor where Molly got her job. Such a likable character. I can't wait for the next book in the series. This one as I said was dark, but I think the next one is going to be worse. I CAN’T WAIT!!!

Luck of the Devil is the second book in the series, and this is Briar and Molly's story.

Luck of the Devil is a falling for the best friends sister kind of story, MC style.

There is a lot of mystery surrounding Briar, why he is celibate, if you have read the previous book this would make you curious as to why a man who is surrounded by the clubs debauchery and open sex antics is this way, has chosen to abstain from something that is offered to him daily on a plate by the club whores.
Slowly the story unravels his secrets through Briars thoughts. There has always been lots of questions surrounding Briar and his celibacy but no one dares questions and just accepts his ways.

Molly is the club princess and club members have orders from her brother who is the club president to look after her and not to touch. Briar has fought her advances and stayed true to his friends orders but Molly loves Briar and has known him since she was a little girl and is determined to get her man even if it means it could get him killed.

Luck of the Devil contains a lot of sex, club business, drama, it can be rude or crude and has a darker feel than some MC books, basically it's what an MC read should be.

The Ravens Ruin men are tough, rough, dangerous to whoever steps on their toes but they love their women, once they find the right one that is and show a softness only reserved for them.

Luck of the Devil finished with a cliffhanger leading towards T.J's story so I am looking forward to the next book also.

Read the first book now. Available in KU

I am loving this series so I hard!!! I read the prequel in the Wanted Outlaw Anthology before reading this. I'm SOOOO glad I did, because it really helped to understand a few things.

I was so excited about Briar and Molly Sins of my Father and I was super curious about each of them. At that point we knew little about Briar other than he was celibate and Lynch's best friend. And of course, we got to know Molly through Zoe. Well this book gave us some MUCH NEEDED answers and insight on both of them!!!

I LOVE BRIAR SO MUCH!! This man had me cracking up and swooning throughout the whole book. Yes, he is tough and dirty, but man does he have some restraint!!! He knew he didn't want to upset the brothers by doing anything with Molly. But, at the same time, how do you stay away from the flame that you are a moth to? You just can't. Even funnier was how much the rest of the MC ragged on him for it. Clearly EVERYONE knew that Briar and Molly had a thing for each other, and that they really couldn't do anything about it.

Molly, oh Molly, she really gave Briar a run for his money, and technically for his life. She was so good at bating these guys, especially Briar. I thought it was kind of annoying how Lynch and TJ kept her on a pedestal, but at the same time I know they wanted a better life for their sister. The constant back and forth between the brothers, Molly, Briar and Zoe constantly kept me on my toes. I had no clue what was going to happen and when, it really was an awesome roller coaster ride.

Now I'm always big on supporting characters. The Dr, Owen, really made this story something else. I also think that Xena had a pretty interesting role in this story too. She really seems to be the glue between the club girls, but she seemed to have more a presence to me. She was almost like the Jiminy Cricket of the group. I loved both of these characters for the role they played, even if it was smaller.

I don't want to give anything away, but I need to express how amazing this book was. There was so much depth to it, so many layer and so many emotions. It was the perfect cocktail to an AMAZING book. Definitely one of my favorites of hers so far!!

Title: Luck of the Devil (Ravens Ruin MC #2)
Author: Marie James
Genre: MC, Contemporary Romance
Rating: 5/5

Marie’s back with this, the second book from her Ravens Ruin series and this time the focus is on Vice President Briar and the clubs original Princess Molly.

We got to meet the pair briefly in Sins of the Father and now we finally get the answers to the questions surrounding Briar’s celibacy and his reasons for keeping Molly at arm’s length despite his obvious attraction towards her. Molly has two brothers within the MC, each of them crazy in their own way and one of them being the President, he’s Briar’s best friend and he’s also the one who declared Molly as being off-limits to all club members including Briar himself.

Briar’s just like your typical big, tough, sexy biker only he chooses to remain celibate for reasons unknown to others, sure they may speculate and joke but none are aware of the demons from his past which follow him, making him feel the need to push Molly away despite the fact he loves her. There’s plenty of push and pull between the pair throughout this book but it’s clear they’re meant for one another even Molly’s own brothers can see how much she means to Briar, sure he doesn’t get away without punishment for disobeying the President’s orders that his sister was off-limits but he takes it like the man he is.

I can’t even begin to describe how much I loved Briar and Molly, together the pair were perfect and their story made for interesting reading, I loved how we got glimpses of the characters we’ve grown to love from previous books and then there was that little insight into TJ’s craziness to come.

I didn’t think it were possible but despite how amazing the men of Cerberus MC are, I can see Ravens Ruin becoming my new firm favourite of Marie James’s.

Ms. James amazes me how her books always seem to outdo one another. Her flare for words, her unique intriguing storylines keep me on high alert for any new books that she produces for us. If you haven’t read Ms. James, she is a must. From her contemporary books to her MC books (and a lot of other inbetween) she is simply an outstanding story teller and Luck of the Devil is no acception. Kudo’s Ms. James for a job well done.

For Molly, growing up the kid sister to the Prez of the Raven Ruin’s MC (Lynch) is no picnic. Being the club Princess, everyone has been warned to stay away from her. She is OFF LIMITS and everyone knows that Lynch will literally “lynch” anyone who disobeys and disrespects him or his direct orders. However, Molly as other ideas. She has been in love with Briar since she was 14 and she is determined to make him see her as more than just his best friends little sister, no matter the cost.

As for Briar, the club’s VP, he is secretly crazy about Molly. But the club is his life and he won’t go against Lynch’s orders. Not to mention his dark past. There is no way he would subject Molly to his wicked ways. So he watches and protects her but that’s all. He pushes her away at every turn, telling her to find someone worthy of her. But how long can he resist the sassy woman of his dreams, knowing to have her is an instant death sentence.

Luck of the Devil is much more than just a forbidden love story. This is a thrilling storyline with gripping mc action. The club is still dealing with the cartel, the mexicans and a few other “club matters” which will keep you turning the pages. This is a fantastic addition to the series and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book of this phenomenal series where we get the twisted little brother TJ’s story. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for Luck of the Devil: a book/series that I Highly Recommend.

Briar is the Ravens Ruin VP but that doesn't mean he get any special treatment at all. His orders from his president, Lynch are to stay as far away from his younger sister, Molly Jenkins, as possible and that she is hands off from all of the bikers.

Molly Jenkins has grown up around the MC world and has had a crush on Briar for as long as she can remember. She can tell he wants her to if he would stop pushing her away.

Can Molly and Briar sort out their feelings or will the temptation be too much and Briar see what he could lose if he gives in?

This is another great book in the series!

I really liked Briar and knew why he was having such a difficult time knowing what he had to do. His heart for a long time belonged to Molly but at the same time he knew he couldn't have her and he was a little frustrated because of it. He had to follow the rules of his President but he was genuine with how he felt and knew he could treat her well, even though he had his demons inside of him from his job.

Molly was a little temptress as she tried to catch Briar's attention. I thought it was interesting that she really didn't seem to understand what her brothers would do to Briar if they ever got together. I was interested to see if Molly dating Owen would change anything.

Things began to get intense with a decision that Molly made and you knew things were going to get hot fast! Yet soon Briar realized he was going to have to make his own decision fast before he found himself in some serious trouble!

I wasn't surprised when things exploded but I was expecting it and then I was shocked at what Briar did! I was like OMG no!!!!

The end got my heart rate back to normal and I can't wait for the next book!

"Wow! This is the second book in the Raven Ruin MC and this book was even better than the first. Briar and Molly’s story was hot and filled with life or death choices.

Briar is the VP and Molly is the Princess of the club. Molly’s brother has one main rule for his sister and that is none can touch her. Briar knows that if he does he will die, but it doesn’t stop him from wanting her.

Molly has only ever wanted Briar, but she is getting tired of waiting. When they finally get together will it cost them everything? This book is filled with building tension. Twists and turns make this a very suspenseful and hot MC story. I highly recommend this series and for sure this book!" ~Natalie

Briar and Molly fought hard for their love and they had to with everyone in the MC against it. This was a drama filled, hard MC style reading that I just loved from start to finish. Looking forward to the next in the series. ~Jen

"3.5 Steamy Stars

I love all things Marie James and Briar and the MC boys were no different in this book. His love for Molly was unparalleled and the passion between them was palpable. The reason I didn't give this book 4 or 5 stars is because of Molly. She was very juvenile to me in this book. She was winey and even sometimes just play childish. She acted very immature at times and I found myself wishing for the Molly from the previous book. She was outgoing and outspoken and acted like the MC Princess she is. But in this book there were times I found her annoying. However, despite her somewhat childish times, the love she had for Briar and the things she would do for him somewhat made up for it. They had passion and fire and were amazing together. Overall really great book and I would def recommend." ~KACI
