Lucy Pettigrew originates from Nottingham, England and is currently studying English Literature at university. She has been writing poems since the age of sixteen. The Light Within is her debut collection and is a snippet of her writing and emotions since 2015. The collection of poems inside deal with mental illness, love and a trip to Edinburgh (where some of the poems were written). Lucy doesn't plan to stop writing anytime soon so keep an eye out for future work by this author.
Lucy Pettigrew originates from Nottingham, England and has just finished her degree in English Literature. She has been writing poems since the age of sixteen and doesn't plan to stop anytime soon. She loves to read and write more than anything.
This is such a beautiful book. Lucy’s poems capture so many raw emotions, such as consumption by mental illness, the determination and perseverance necessary for recovery, the pain of heartbreak, and that specific kind of love that you have for your friends. All her poems are written with so much love, honesty, and feeling, her words are so special, and this is such a precious book. I’d rate it 6 stars, if I could.
I loved this book. Such a beautiful thing to find a poet that speaks from personal experience but always you to map yourself on it. Thank you Lucy I can wait to read more of your work.
