I just love the art this author makes so much it’s just so stunning! I enjoyed learning about Ren’s childhood a bit and the overarching plot of the series is definitely becoming more apparent so that’s good!

Ai and Ren’s character arcs just felt the same as Yuki and Kaname in the original series, and I personally do not like that. 2 stars for Zero & Yuki, Shiki & Rima, and the development of the actual plot.

I really dislike how Ai treat Ren, it's exactly like how Kaname treat Yuuki in the past. I'm say: never ever treat your loved one as if they weak and powerless and hopelessly small, like you are their whole world, and nothing existing outside of you. Just don't, okay!

This was such a beautifully drawn volume of the series. Even if you are not a fan of the original Vampire Knight series, I think Memories is much more nuanced and the artwork does not disappoint. I am continually amazed at how well Hino is able to draw flowy hairstyles and lovely cascading fabrics. If you are into anime fashion and cosplay, then you simply have to get this series.

I had a lot of difficulty following what was happening in this book. I felt that a lot of scenes were incongruent and there was a lack of detail as to what was going on, to an extent. About midway through the book I pieced everything together and did well.

It is somewhat confusing when the story flashes between the past and the future since, as vampires, no one ever ages, so it takes a minute to figure out what time the story is in.

I like how we're getting more about the conflicts between the humans and vampires. In the original series, it's such a sudden jump to everyone knowing about vampires that you don't see the mess of integrating them, people who wouldn't like humans, hunters, or vamps, etc. With Memories, you get to see all of that and see the struggles hunters and vampires go through to make stuff safe and equal, and I love how there are enough completely chill humans. There seems to be just enough people on every side of the confrontation that is so okay with the merger, just as there are those who don't want it. Anyway, ramble, but I just like that dynamic.

Based on Matsuri Hino's comment at the beginning, book 6 will be more plot-oriented regarding all of the conflict, so I'm curious to see where this is going.

I hate to say it, but Ai and Ren’s interaction here toes the line of incest, in my opinion 😬 Ren wants to “devour” her sister and “become one” with her, Ai says she wants to “share” herself with Ren like that, and then Ai blushes and squeals about it, saying it was “so sexy.” After reading/seeing Zero “devour” Yuki all the time in a symbolically sexual way while also loving her in a romantic way, seeing Zero’s daughter do the same thing to her sister... I am uncomfortable 😬 I know. VAMPIRES. Yuki and Kaname were actually brother and sister, right? Sorry, it’s been forever since I read the first “season.” I got used to them being a couple because: VAMPIRES. So I think it’s me being uncomfortable with the fact that it’s girl/girl. I’m not sure I’ll continue the series. The politics and zombie/vampire/human mutants aren’t really gripping me 😕

The art is still beautiful 😊 and I’ve come to love Hanabusa more than I ever thought I would! He was just a cute side character before, but his life with Yori was so precious 💕

I don't know exactly why, but I didn't enjoy this volume as much, while we clearly advance in the plot.
It must be said that I'm not a big fan of Aï, and that's a shame, and her behavior towards Ren sometimes makes me roll my eyes.
I can't wait to read more, as I just finished this volume haha. And I admit I need more Zero !

I like this spinoff series, but this volume was weird. I know vampires are often sexualized, but the relationship between Ai and Ren was almost erotic. There was a creepy tension between them, which I think was meant to show how close they were. Even Ai's comment after Ren finally drinks her blood was, "It was so sexy." Really? The tension between the humans and vampires is mounting, and I can't wait to see how Yuki handles herself in the newest conflict.

I do feel that vampires have that romanticism of being for love in all its forms- maybe it’s their life span that allows them to bridge their prejudices 🤔 I mention this because of what I see in the relationship between Ren and Ai- sapphic love, just beyond familial. I don’t mind it, but I feel if any mythical creature can pull it off it’s vampires 🤷‍♀️😂🥰

My only dislike was that Ai should have been given a stronger character development. She is the last pureblood vampire of the Kuran clan and her powers and strengths are rarely explored. Ren's character arc has only just developed and I'm kind of wondering why her identity is only revealed now.

These vampires falling in love with there siblings is just plain creepy. I kinda over looked it with Yuki since it didn’t seem like a dividing relationship (still gross though) but this really grossed me out.

Dużo się dzieje.
Jednocześnie fajnie, że autorka pokazuje nam tylko ważne momenty i pomija całą, mało interesująca czytelnika, resztę. Ale z drugiej strony, gdyby ten konflikt dostał lepszą "nadbudówkę" pewnie miałby więcej sensu.

Lots of Ai and Ren in this volume…
The story is getting intense…

And as usual, the art is beautiful and I can’t help but stare… If you look at Vampire Knight (the original series) vol 1 and then at this series, you can see how much the mangaka’s art improved.

It seems all the weird vampire incest isn't enough to turn me away from this series, but man, this volume grossed me out.

Staying for the beautiful art and the human/hunter/vampire politics. And Zero/Yuki.
