Kaitlyn and the Highlander #4.5

A Missing Entanglement

Rate this book

This is a very short story from the lives of Kaitlyn and Magnus Campbell. It should be read between book 4, Begin Where We Are, and book 5, Entangled With You.

If Magnus and Kaitlyn’s life together is a tapestry, then this, dear reader would be an unraveling thread.

This happened. Except no one in the world knows or remembers.

The fifth part of their story can be told without this thread. We could snip it off and drop it to the floor, except…

We ought to know of it to carry on.

We can remember.

Because this strand, that once weaved their life is gone now — replaced by another, stronger, more exquisite weaving — but it existed. And it changed their whole story.

Book 1 — Kaitlyn and the Highlander
Book 2 — Time and Space Between Us
Book 3 — A Warrior of My Own
Book 4 — Begin Where We Are
Short story 4.5 — A Missing Entanglement
Book 5 — Entangled With You
Book 6 — Magnus and a Love Beyond Words
Book 7 — to be determined…

Heartbreaking

I loved and hated getting to see this part of Kaitlyn and Magnus's story. I am so sad that Magnus had to live with that.

What the freaking heck..... I didn't expect this short story to be so dangerously emotional and what just happened.

I read some reviews about this novella and then I couldn't find to read it and I really wanted to see what would happen next.
Thankfully this short story is avaliable in the boxset with the books 4-6 and I got that boxset to read this one.

So it seems like a random event and then what follows totally shocking and I don't know what it means for Kaitlyn and magnus but my goodness... It was shocking and ahh... I can't believe what just happened.

I'm fast running straight to the next book in the series as I can't wait to find out what happens next.

*Edit* Bumped to 3 because it did get circled back to in the story line.

Rating this 2 stars because it was not really necessary to the story line and kind of devastating. Would have been pissed if I had read this prior to the next book being released.

I have eyed this series for awhile and went back and forth if I wanted to start it. Is this going to be another Outlander?

As it turns out...this was the binge series I was looking for!! It was so surprisingly fun and enjoyable!

In between

Had already read 5 but helped to understand the scenario told in 5. Still trying to understand each facet of different times.

Just a wonderful exciting suspenseful story about love between Magnus and Kaitlin. You won’t regret reading it. Or rereading it!

Included in Book 5. Not really important in the series.

I’m still confused, but I know it will make sense sooner or later. I still loved it as every page gave me chills down my spine.

[Update: After reading book 5, I’ve decided that it would have been better to read this one AFTER. It took a long time for this novella to be explained within the main storyline and drove me nuts. I definitely recommend reading this story as 5.5.]

What the hell did I just read? Talk about a depressing little story. Definitely not my favorite part of Kaitlyn and Magnus’s journey together. I didn’t like the way it ended at all, but I have a feeling that once I get to the part in book 5 where this takes place, I will have answers. And, hopefully, a happier result.
